Reviews for Hotell Gästis
Review 1:Bathrooms - we had 2 rooms - are below standard for a hotel priced as a 4-star property.
Review 2:Front-desk staff were helpful and friendly. Food was good on both the (included with the room) dinner buffet and breakfast buffet. Free coffee in the lobby is a nice touch and the quirky artwork was appealing.
Review 3:Smell from the bathroom was not so good. Pillows were not so comfortable. The dinner buffet is convenient (quick and easy) but hardly no hot food and although it is supposed to be "free" it is included in the room price (which I think overall is a bit too high for the quality offered).
Review 4:Located in the center of the town, free parking, good internet connection. Very friendly staff and quick check-in & check-out. Breakfast was okay although the first 2 days we had to squeeze the oranges ourselves to get some juice.
Review 5:The idea of a 'collectivist' hotel with a replica of Lenin's baths in a Swedish seaside town is quirky and fun; the hotel is professionally run and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Review 6:Twin beds.
Review 7:The Spa!! Excellent and very charming may be not the best I've visited but the most charming for sure!!! The Lenine's Bath is a must Seen even if you dont like baths. Breakfast very Good. The Staff. The athmosphere at this Hotel, a lot of books, movies, ...
Review 8:We were travelling with our dog, which was possibly why we were in the accommodation opposite the main building - this meant our bedroom was right on the street which I'm sure is normally quiet, but we stayed on a Saturday night when the local football supporters were out on the town.
Review 9:We like the set up of this hotel as the inclusive price meant we didn't have to think about looking for anywhere to eat - and the food offering was good in a comfortable and informal setting.
Review 10:The meat/fish courses at dinner were not to our liking; the fish cakes and chicken were dry and both had strong seasoning that was not to our taste.
Review 11:The room was well furnished with a desk, desk chair, two stuffed chairs, etc. The bath tub in the room was very nice - an expected treat. Salads at dinner were very good. The hotel is very well situated in Varberg - close to the castle and shore walk, free parking, train station, and city centre. If you want a traditional Swedish hotel experience, this is the place to stay.
Review 12:A hotel with personality & own style :) Cozey atmosphere. Leninbadet Delicious food with wide choice
Review 13:Noise from corridor. Noise from street. Noise from vehicles. Noise from trains.
Review 14:Buffet, and decor.
Review 15:Good food
Review 16:Nice place!
Review 17:There was some intermittent noise during the day which we think may have had something to do with the baths in the basement of the hotel or the ventilation system in the bathroom. It didn't spoil the stay but was a little bothersome if you wanted to have a bit of a siesta. Parking arrangements are a bit awkward as we had to leave our car in a parking garage quite a distance from the hotel. It's not something they can do much about though simply because the hotel is located so centrally in Varberg itself.
Review 18:Unique style of the hotel and the standard of decorations and comfort. Choices from the breakfast buffet were very good, glad to see a toaster there as we Brits do miss our toast and marmalade when we are abroad! Evening buffet was OK though a little more limited in terms of hot dishes.
Review 19:We had some hard time to initially find the room.
Review 20:Half board included, nice staff, cozy bedroom but a relative nice bathroom. Even had a small balcony we did not use
Review 21:Small towels in the spa/Leninbadet
Review 22:Unique and entertaining atmosphere. Full marks for establishing this hotel! Leninbadet & a wonderful spa massage by Tina :-) Such a luxury. Generous supply of food and drinks: tea & coffee available at all times. Both the kvällsbuffet and the breakfast were great as well. Friendly & helpful staff, who did all the could to make us feel welcome & comfortable. It was worth travelling all the way from Oslo for this treat :-)
Review 23:did not have option to take room without dinner - friends had invited us for dinner so this was a bit wasted
Review 24:Quirky and full of character, pleasant staff, had lock up garage which we needed for a classic car
Review 25:The way to room no. 12E.
Review 26:The atmosphere!!!! All the Collections!!!!! The idea with all the books!!!!!
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:Great overall concept with straightforward meals included in the price, great value and very comfortable.
Review 29:This is not a standard Hotel, it has a personality . Staff veryfriendly, decoration, buffet ...
Review 30:The atmosphere.
Review 31:Nothing.
Review 32:Staff was friendly and responsive. Close to the train station and the ocean. Convenient to the downtown and shops.
