Reviews for Lloyd's Baia Hotel

Review 1:industrial shipyards view atop which the hotel is situated eclectic taste in interior design and decor . limited breakfast offerings

Review 2:Location high on a hill with great views of the ocean. Great outdoor balconies and generally large public spaces in the property Quaint little village nearby free parking free breakfast

Review 3:They have night club near the beach. Music played loud till 4 am. It is impossible to sleep. Weightless. Dirty carpets everywhere. Paid beach 10 Eur per person for one day.

Review 4:Unfortunately I was wakened at midnight to the sound of furniture being moved above me. After half an hour of this , I called reception and complained. As I put the phone down a firework display erupted on the beach and for the next 10 minutes multicoloured flares were exploding at room level. When it finished, I couldn't detect any further movement of furniture, so I went off to sleep. At 6.50 the following morning , the removals started again but by this time I was rested. I don't imagine that this happens too often and to be fair , it didn't spoil my stay.

Review 5:We enjoyed the facilities , bar and restaurant. The food was good, mainly fish.

Review 6:Dining room staff grumpy. Location not ideal if beach not particularly wanted.

Review 7:Location good for beach lovers. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Handy for Vietri Sul Mare

Review 8:- the proximity to the industrial port - the view is nice only if you look in one direction..if you turn your head you will see lots of containers ready to be loaded onto ships. - the rooms from the second floor (highest). I think they are the only ones without a balcony and have a rather small window.

Review 9:- the private beach easily accessible from the hotel; - the breakfast; - the huge and comfy bed.

Review 10:The extremely loud and defening disco that went on until 4am on Saturday and Sunday ie. Sunday and Monday am - both nights we were there right outside our window. The disco was run by hotel restaurant on the beach bar below the hotel. No English TV channels. Unhelpful staff No welcome and introduction ie. Info on facilities, even breakfast time and location. We couldn't bring leftover pizza into the hotel. The staff wanted us to leave the pizza at reception. This was obviously due to them wanting us to not eat anyone else's food but there's which came across really greedy. We had four rooms and the one room had a broken telephone. The other had a broken sink that would t drain. The other had broken lighting. The last room had a disgusting drain and sulphur smell out of the toilet. We paid the same price for two nights in a villa in Positano for 5 people and comparing the two is just ridiculous. No one warned us about the disco party. It doesn't even say so on the description. None of us slept both nights we were there. When we complained the staff just shrugged their shoulders.

Review 11:Proximity to old town. We liked the towels, they were big. We also liked leaving because the hotel was terrible.

Review 12:The hotel is not clean, the breakfast is poor, the parking really complicated. But one can overlook all this, because the hotel is on Amalfi coast, right? What no one can ignore though is the noise almost every night. The so called music from the discotheque is so loud that in every room the beds are moving. We were a large group and my friends had rooms in different levels, but situation was the same. No one can sleep until 4-5 a.m. when the party is over. Of course we complained, and of course nothing could be done.

Review 13:nothing

Review 14:The hotel had a great view if you get the full ocean view room, but if you get a partial ocean view about 75% of your view is a very busy port. The staff on the beach were very rude and unhelpful. The beach access costs 5 euro and my wife and I walked to the public beach to rent a kayak and on the way back we had forgotten our beach access receipt and the front desk lady was very rude and wouldn't allow us to get our stuff from our chair. Then they were persistent on proving that we weren't hotel guests. It made us feel unaccepted especially for the price we paid.

Review 15:The front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful. Overall, the beach access was very nice and the room was mediocre. The view from the ristorante on staff was superb.

Review 16:The staff service was terrible. Daytime reception was really good and helpful, but they have disco parties going on till 5 am for may be 10 people on the beach and these are extremely loud. when we asked the reception to turn the volume down, they got angry at us and shouted back saying nothing can be done and that we should deal with it.

Review 17:The location is fantastic. Away from the busy Amalfi and close to the beach

Review 18:Disappointed with the room we were allocated wasn't the room we booked. our booking was for FRONT VIEW TO BEACH but we were given a side room which was directly above car park with noise from trucks etc. Also we didn't expect so called "music" to go on till 5 am every day during our stay.

Review 19:Lift to access beach, weather and location.

Review 20:Hotel located by Ferryport of Salerno. We did not get the room what we have booked and the lady in the reception did not changed the room for us and she was not kind to us.

Review 21:Hotel has own beach, the guys who were responsible for the parking and the housekeeping lady was very nice.

Review 22:Very understanding staff of gluten free needs. They provided a gluten free breakfast (toast, muffins and pastries) in place of what wasn't gf on the buffet already. Great view and wonderful rooms!!!

Review 23:Hotel outdated. Poor management. Many guests confused about building layout.

Review 24:Took until 3.30 to get checked into a room that was in poor condition. Requested room change which we got at 4.30.

Review 25:5.4 rating does not reflect the real situation. We had to tolerate an extremely loud disco close by us in the hotel that did not finish before 4am and prevented us getting any sleep. This swamped everything else. Dress code at breakfast was beachwear. Would not recommend.

Review 26:Other than the specific "dislikes", it was basically what I would expect from an Italian 4 star - but lower than I would expect of a 4 star in most other western european countries.

Review 27:The room me and my husband stayed in was very old.echos was coming from every where.disco sound most of the night up to 4am in the room.then next door little child started crying from 6am.the staff didnt make any effort to change the room at last 3 day my son changed his flight and came back earlier to give us his room.no stalite tv.they charged us for visiting the beach.dinner was very expensive in the hotel.the staff in the reception seems they dont take any complaints seriosly there answer allways is we only work here we are not responsible for guests problems.i will never recomend that hotel to any one .and will not go back to that one.the area was very nice but we had no comfort for 7 night until we moved to my sons room

Review 28:the location

Review 29:Rooms old furnished and dated, air condition almost not working external temperaturę exceeded 35, inside it was 28. We had to wait for our room more than one hour to get double room instead of triple. After some time and several calls they changed the room but tried to cheat us. Very small and crowded parking place. Shower cabin door damaged. No daily cleaning service, they changed the towels only. This hotel doesnt deserve for 4 starts, it is fairly 3 stars only.

Review 30:Good view to the seaport, private beach with separate access, restaurant service and food quality, very nice restaurant staff.

Review 31:The beach discos every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night are really annoying - it's impossible to sleep until after 3 AM! At the checkout they charged me for some bar food which we hadn't ordered. After some time they agreed it wasn't our's but still charged us for an extra day at the beach which we didn't use.

Review 32:Location is excellent and the views are great. Breakfast is the same every day but it is good.

Review 33:Our rooms faced the port side more than the sea side. Did not really want to spend time on the balcony because of this.

Review 34:Beautiful, breathtaking view as long as you look to the North (sea) and not Southwest (container port). The town of Vietri was charming. The elevator down the cliff to the rocky beach was cool. The staff was very friendly and did their best to help us and to communicate in English (we have no Italian).

Review 35:1. Photos of hotel views are truthless. If you arrive to the hotel - the first you will see is big harbour, with many and many trucks, many cars (they beep all the time) and sure, many big ships - there is big traffic and 24/7, so it is impossible have an open window for all night. We have looked out the window at harbour. It is not pleasant surprise. 2. The Beach! Prices for the beach. Hotel says: We have a private beach for our hotel guests. But there is no word about that you have to pay for the beach. 5 EUR/day/person. Beach is not clean at all. And there are a lot of "vendors" with all classic holiday annoying stuff. Yep and the first row in the beach? All the first lines of sunbeds are reserved?? what? There is no possibility to relax there. Without any explanation. Staff doesn't speak english. 3. Food at the beach restaurant - dont try. Pizza in Napoli was 5stars, there is 2stars. Overpriced and not good. Gnocchi pomodoro - not good. 4. Noise from disco till 3am. We were glad to not stay there in saturday. After friday disco, it was enough - we rather try another hotel.

Review 36:Breakfasts were delicious, great selection of food, a lot of fruit (but no vegetables!), yoghurts, cheese, sweet pastry and classic english breakfast. There were absolutely stunning views from terace, teraces are beautiful, lot of flowers, greeness and this was a very romantic place for take a glass of wine and talk. Elevatro to the beach is good. Hotel is good in general. Clean inside, good location, good parking. Room was old furnitured but ok, outstanding.

Review 37:On both nights we stayed there was a disco on the beach below our room. The first night finished at 5 a.m. and the second at 3 a.m. On neither night did we get any sleep.

Review 38:Location - in front of the hotel is a container port and there is noise. We received a room in the old area but after we complined we received anothere one in the new area. The breakfast was poor and not too many from where to choose.

Review 39:Very nice first class restaurant inside the Hotel (not the one where the breakfast is served). The rooms located in the new area are clean and nice. The personnel from the reception was very helpful and friendly.

Review 40:Being kept up all night by the very loud nightclub right next to our room. On a Wednesday night. When we were checking out early the next day. Got no sleep and were not happy.

Review 41:The private beach was very nice. Quiet and relaxing.

Review 42:A lot of noise from a port nearby (all day and night) and the bar in the beach (very, very loud music till 5 a.m. for several days). Very noisy air conditioning. WiFi actually is not working in the rooms. In other places it is very, very slow, which makes it nearly useless. A lot of cigarettes smoke in many places; the smoke can come to your room from a next room, if it is somehow connected to yours (connecting doors, balcony). Taxi drivers are cheating quite often.

Review 43:Nice view from the windows.

Review 44:We were not aware of the open air disco/dance club located right under our room on -4 level. The loud techno music kept us awake until 5am on a Friday night/Saturday morning. When I called the front desk 2x they said they would ask to turn the music down but it never happened. The next night we were saved from the music by a storm that came through at 11pm.

Review 45:Very nice hotel right on the beach. Room was very spacious and bathroom was very clean with plenty of amenities. The breakfast was very plentiful and offered many choices.

Review 46:No bad experience, but there could have been some info explaining the hi-tech facilities in the room, such as touch lighting, air conditioning and the shower. It was fun, but took a while to figure out how these worked & there was no printed info in the room.

Review 47:The hotel interior was stunning! Beautiful appointments everywhere.

Review 48:This is said to be a 4 star hotel. Do not agree. We were there for 4 nights and the air conditioning never worked. They said they were working on it ?? According to introduction of the hotel and pictures it was said to be in a quite setting. When we got there we find we are next to a shipping container port that was working more or less through the night. There were also endless events (load disco / birthdays, weddings) every night, sometimes until 4 in the morning. Anything but quiet. Staff was not very helpful and did not seem to care to much about their guests. Breakfast table was poor.

Review 49:First class restaurant connected to the hotel . A bit expensive but good food, good service and nice atmosphere.

Review 50:The Hotel is just perfect. We got a room with seaview, a long balcony, a jacuzzi bath, 2 bedrooms. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The a'la carte restaurant ( ReMauri ) in my opinion the best restaurant of the amalfi coast. The village ( Vietri Sul Mare ) is great located ( by the sea, at the beginning of the amalfi coast and directly by the highway to Napoli ). It was one of our best Vacations. Wanna go back soon.

Review 51:What you do not see in the pictures is that 50% of your view is of a busy working Container port. (there is actually one picture at night but difficult to see what it represents) The breakfast balcony overlooks the noise of ships engines and reversing trucks. If you expect the beautiful and quiet sea views you will be disappointed. The hotel is also a place for bus tours and wedding receptions. The room staff were poorly trained and supervised. We returned in the evening to find our room door left open twice from the mid day bedding change. Our first night the bedside lights did not work....there were no bulbs in. the plumbing leaked and the 'new' bathroom floor was lethal. The staff were nice and friendly and made corrections (we changed rooms once from one below the wedding reception floor) but the management culture took no notice, more interested in corporate events. Not a place for a couple to go for a romantic stay on the Amalfi coast!

Review 52:The town of Vietri Sul Mare is very nice and 'local'. there are other hotels there.

Review 53:We couldn't sleep as many as we want just between 12pm. - 7am. because of the different noises causes the staff and the guests. On sunday around 3:30 a.m. we woke up because of the fireworks and we had to listened it for 20 minutes, which come from the hotel own beach from a wedding ceremony. The staff's english knowledge poor. Our bed was creaky. The beach elevator was out of order but we get free transport to the beach.

Review 54:The food was amazing and huge portion especially for the dinner. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our suite was big and nice.

Review 55:Unfortunately customer service was lacking i.e. The shower head was broken and we asked for it to be fixed but no one ever came. The information pack in the room was misleading regarding times/services. Breakfast tables were always half-set. It was overpriced considering the whole package.

Review 56:The location was perfect, and hotel itself was nice, clean and comfortable. The only customer service really present was the parking staff which was excellent!

Review 57:The Hotel made an initlal mistake with our booking, but the excellent Manager solved that, quickly and politely.

Review 58:The spectacular vista and proximity to the Hotel's private beach, and the easy walk to the centre of town (Vietri sul Mare). We also enjoyed excellent service from the Manager and all staff, including those providing the shuttle service.

Review 59:second floor room under dining area - noise starts at 630 am and ended after dinner at about midnight - tile on ceiling with no dampening. Bed is old and sinks. B/fast start to pick up 1/2 hour before posted time

Review 60:A grand dame of a hotel with i suppose some great renovated rooms. Great view

Review 61:Hard pillows. Extremely complicated elevator system....buttons hard to read and it required changing elevators to reach your destination.

Review 62:Cleanliness. Helpful front desk.

Review 63:At the beginning we got the old section and in clean room. After we wanted to checked out we moved to the new section who were much better. The photos I'm booking.com is only of the new section.

Review 64:Front desk personnel was very short and not willing to go the extra mile. We were going to drive the Amalfi Coast and new of a recent rock slide. We asked if she knew if it was open, but were told she did not know and no offer was made to find out. When you work in the tourism industry, it is important to go a little further when someone asks you a question like that. I contacted via e-mail my next hotel at the other end of the Amalfi Coast and they got back to me with the details right away - that is customer service!!!

Review 65:Location was great!!! Beautiful area, although the room we were given was facing the port. Nice breakfast.

Review 66:The staff at the reception could be better and have more smiles, and we were overcharged for the minibar, and that was not good.

Review 67:The location of the hotel is good and most rooms are with stunning view~ The amenity in this hotel is really good, and the room is also in decent size, and our room also have a large balcony.

Review 68:Internet speed was so bad that it literally couldn't open the page for 10-15 minutes. During the summer, they have festive events in the garden below the windos with loud music until 4-5 am so it's impossible to sleep. The port is ver close to the hotel, although the beach looks quite ok.

Review 69:Cannot control air conditioner temperature only fan speed and this could not be explained satisfactorily Attitude of staff - some were extremely rude TV remote would not work Safe would not work If you dont have a car catching buses may be an issue There is no pool, contrary to what was advertised and they are dismantling their beach facilities and when I asked about the pool was told there is no pool, but there was one. But no explanation was forthcoming about where it went (see comment above about rude staff). There is an overhead photo on google maps to prove it was in existance

Review 70:View from room over the sea port Closeness to Village of Vietri Sul Mare and their restaurants

Review 71:Floor is tiles and gets quite dirty. in the air condition you can only control the flow not the temperature.

Review 72:Location is good, very near the autostrade A3. Parking is available onsite and the hotel is a walking distance to the town. Breakfast has good variety

Review 73:Tour coordinator didn't seem to anxious to get us on a boat tour of Amalfi coast. When we were there the dining room was booked with a wedding - eating dinner where they serve breakfast was too bright!

Review 74:Staff pretty friendly. Beach nice but too bad they have to charge guests to sit on it. Location good for doing some things on your own if you have a car.

Review 75:The space was extremely dirty. I thought I was being bitten by bed bugs. The location is a 15$ cab ride from the nearest port - not too far or expensive but a hassle if you want to Vetri. Vetri isn't a nice city, I suggest leaving everyday for day trips to Positano and Amalfi. The staff was not helpful and often provided the wrong information. Overall not the best experience.

Review 76:I liked the location and old charm feel. I'm sure it was a great hotel thirty years ago.

Review 77:Bed uncomfortable, room very noisy, Wi Fi non existent. Staff unhelpful. We won't stay again.

Review 78:The location was great. The Amalfi coast is beautiful.

Review 79:Not so modern. Confusing to find you way around the hotel with a labyrinth of elevators. Bathroom was very small. Internet didn't work but I was told that this was a temporary issue. Very overpriced. Not very friendly staff, we actually saw one of them get into a fight with a guy from the public beach beside us, not very professional.

Review 80:Unique hotel positioned on a cliff with its own beach. Great view of the sea from our bedroom.

Review 81:Cargo - docks against the Hotel - dog'chance for sleep with open balkony - door ,very very noisy location in the nigh , no attractive look-see by the day

Review 82:Location on Amalfi cost

Review 83:Breakfast was rather boring, the staff was not very nice. Booking for services is difficult, guest relations not really effective (they forgot to answer to most of our questions)

Review 84:Location, perfect view, private beach, services, closeness of Vietri and Salerno with good restaurants. Front desk staff is very helpful. All in all, best choice in the region - good value for money.

Review 85:Having to pay to use the hotel's own beach! The lack of pool (though obviously was aware of that before arriving). Confusing layout. Lack of information (eg. changing location of dining room with no explanation or signage). Noise from shipyard, worse noise from beach bar music.

Review 86:Liked the food/staff/aircon/wifi (but had to get a techie guy to get it working)/location/beach.

Review 87:Some hidden costs not clearly specified when reserving (e.g. beach). Wi-Fi was not available in our room all the time.

Review 88:Nice place, private beach, wonderful sight. Upper level food and services.

Review 89:The Wi-Fi signal is extremely weak and intermittent, so it's almost useless. There are disco parties near the beach (on Saturdays, at least) which go on till 4 am - extremely annoying if you're trying to sleep.

Review 90:The location is wonderful - a short taxi ride from the Salerno train station, the hotel is perched on a cliff overlooking the bay of Salerno and is a short walk to the small town of Vietri. It has a wonderful terrace that is perfect for a relaxing drink while gazing at the sea. A very pretty hotel, decorated with plenty of Vietri ceramic tiles.

Review 91:The 'sea' view was a view of Salerno docks which was not what we were expecting from a hotel on the Amalfi Coast. The docks was noisy and made sitting on the balcony not very appealing. The hotel has its own private beach but charges its own guests to use it! Overall the hotel is not bad but not good value for money. There are certainly places to stay in vietri which are better value for money with much better views.

Review 92:On arrival we were shown to out room which smelled very strongly of smoke. We went back to reception to request a room change which was done promptly and without any problems.

Review 93:Asked for sea view got it but mainly got port view which was terrible Wifi did not work most of the time Bed really hard Had to pay 5 euro to use the elevator to beach Room not very nice Had parking but attendant made us park in small space and had four wheel drive could not get out of space when we left

Review 94:The hotel itself was nice throughout corridors Breakfast good and catered for gluten free Meal for dinner in restaurant very nice and reasonable priced

Review 95:There was a disco going on down on the ground floor outside; well. Itwas Saturday night, I suppose. Getting the geography of the huge hotelis challenging..you have to remember it's built onto a cliff, soreception is ground floor, and the rest is down. Our wifi didnt seem towork. However, by the time you've dragged yourself back fromPositano, sunburned and tipsy, it probably won't matter..

Review 96:Location. Once you're off the train at Salerno, you don't wantto travel much further, which is why the Lloyd's is in a naturallystrategic position at Vietri. Its basically the first hotel you cometo...There are 2 bus stops outside. Make sure you buy the local bustickets (just 2 euros 30 to Amalfi, and not the all day tickets at 16euros each.) Staff was friendly and efficient, and the breakfast buffetwas nothing if not sumptuous..

Review 97:The staff was a bit... unhappy and grumpy. The "back side" of the hotel is a bit old and not so well-kept. Had higher expectations for breakfast, considering the 4 stars. Bit difficult with the parking, especially since we had a rental car and we wanted to know it was safe at all times. Limited spots, kind of crowded. You have to pay for the beach separately.

Review 98:The staff was helpful when needed. The room was nice and clean, but thank God we got it for a good price. Nice view (but to the port, not straight to the sea). Lovely balcony. Nice ride to the beach with an open elevator.

Review 99:Loud noises in room during early morning from activities in common rooms directly above; extremely loud music from group events and weekend beach disco. Harbor view was interesting but not pretty

Review 100:Clean spacious rooms, nicely decorated, good climate control and balcony

Review 101:Rooms look shabby, toilet not clean enough

Review 102:The lovely view of Salerno and the harbor

Review 103:evening menu was very limited

Review 104:size of room - view- carpark attendant very helpful

Review 105:Nothing

Review 106:The location was great. There were fireworks on the beach at night from a wedding event. Loved the little balcony overlooking the med.

Review 107:Lovely hotel beautiful views wonderful staff.

Review 108:Parking was difficult; access to the beach at extra cost

Review 109:The balcony and its view. The staff is excellent.

Review 110:Breakfast and facilities in room no coffee or tea making

Review 111:Location

Review 112:Air conditioning was a little temperamental, as was the WiFi!

Review 113:Lovely newly renovated room, very bright and airy

Review 114:Panroma stupendo

Review 115:Touch screens did not work very well to operate all room functions.. View of the parking lot instead of the ocean.

Review 116:Nice and clean room.

Review 117:Don't book on a Saturday night as the beach club will keep you awake until 4am. The band and music was so loud that you can't sleep.

Review 118:Staff didn't tell us that there was a party going on at the hotel. terrible nights sleep. Would never stay there again!

Review 119:Unfriendly staff. Poor air conditioning

Review 120:Beach access. Short walk to town.

Review 121:View from the window. It was a car and ferry terminal working most of the day.

Review 122:Staff

Review 123:Out noise,the view,a bit overrated

Review 124:Location,breakfast

Review 125:- great hotel stuff; - clean rooms; - very good restaurant;

Review 126:-

Review 127:Location, comfort, shuttle-bus to the city.

Review 128:Maintenance level not satisfied, No computer for the guests

Review 129:Good location, nice hotel

Review 130:Good location

Review 131:Port view instaed of ocean view

Review 132:disaster!! all the night very noisy from outside. not possible to sleep !!!

Review 133:Modern and comfortable great value for money

Review 134:It is very bad quality of beads and not comfort to sleep at all

Review 135:Only the location of hotel is excellent

Review 136:Difficult to get into town, rooms need refurbishing,

Review 137:Good views over the harbour and Salerno, good price, wifi and parking for car.
