Reviews for *Attunga Alpine Lodge & Apartments

Review 1:Reception was hard to find (down dark corridor and not signed well, staff was unenthusiastic, had to ask about everything, information wasn't offered. Worst (not really attunga fault, but not mentioned in their literature) was cost of getting to accommodation with our luggage extra $80 and still myself and 3 young/tired kids had to walk up. Also better explanation of how to get there would have been helpful, 1st time we took a very steep, slippery snow/ice covered slope and wooden stairs. Smoke free room however smokers congregated outside our door / ski room and smoke smell filled our kitchen and lounge area very often.

Review 2:Availability, proximity to main lifts. Size to cater for 6 people. Views were spectacular.Pool and spa were great after a days skiing.

Review 3:I don't understand why maintenance isn't done at ski lodges during the off season. Like a shower rose that won't stay up, a cupboard door just hanging on by one hinge, a filthy sheet left on the fold out couch, a rangehood that doesn't work, 6 spoons for 6 people - 3 soup and 3 desert, 6 knives - 3 small and 3 large, badly chipped cereal bowls. bedside lamps that don't work. There are 9 months in the year to do this stuff. Why doesn't someone check everything ?? I don't get it.

Review 4:It all went well

Review 5:Unfortunately the room was not cleaned very well (including the shower :s) and several things didn't work or were in very poor condition. One of the bathroom pipes also leaked all over the bathroom floor for the several days we were there. Although this was one of their 'budget' rooms it still lacked common cleanliness and comfort and the price was hardly considered 'budget' even for falls creek. The included continental breakfast could defiantly be considered "budget".

Review 6:The views were great and the common lounge area was lovely as were the staff.

Review 7:Bed really old could feel the springs in mattress and sunk in the middle. Drying room didn't dry the ski gear heater wasn't turned on.

Review 8:Location was great. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Review 9:Room quality was poor. Very small room with old furniture. Linen on small double bed was worn and tired - quilt and pillows didn't come near to filling their covers. Room very damp with mould on walls... Wouldn't stay again.

Review 10:Great location, and restaurant food was awesome.

Review 11:Paying for wifi when you are paying over $450 per night (peak season) is a no no! The spa is a bit small for an on snow lodge. The pillows were a bit dodgy, but it was hard to fault! Just little things that could improve this lodge! An espresso machine would also be nice!

Review 12:The location was perfect, given there was no snow, it was very convenient to be able to walk to the only open lift with gear! It was also handy to be able to carry luggage back to the car when it did snow to avoid paying for the accommodation transfer! Included hot breakfast was good and the staff were willing to assist with all requests.

Review 13:didn't get the twin room requested, then told there was linen for the sofa in the room - there wasn't. Told we were not getting the hot breakfast, only the continental because there weren't many guests... also told the same about the inclusive bar nibbles after 5.30pm, however, we were given some nuts and crackers. Could only use the spa and pool for a few hours in the evening. This was a mother and pre HSC 18yr old son trip; we were left very disappointed.

Review 14:The rooms are small. Really small. I've stayed in larger rooms in Japan, Hong Kong and New York. Hopefully that gives you a sense of how small the rooms are. Luckily my partner and I cope well together in a small space, but this is not the place to stay if you are coming away on a getting to know you weekend. We stayed in the cheapest rooms possible and the manager tells me other rooms are much larger. I suspect the bed was a bit shorter than std dbl size to fit in the room, but not sure. Also, as we travelled during spring, the breakfast was reduced to a continental buffet - during ski season, they offer a hot breakfast. This was not that clear to me when I booked, so make sure you know what you're getting.

Review 15:A lovely, spick and span place in a great location. Friendly staff and a very nice dinner one night. Lovely shared area upstairs with a view over the hills to the sunset. Spa and pool area were great to relax tired muscles after a day on the slopes. Also, a big shout out to Benn and others from Koki ski hire, which is at the end of the same street that Attunga is on, right near the shuttle stop. Great quality gear, at a v affordable price and absolutely flawless service.

Review 16:grumpy ,unhelpful manager run down facility. ski room without lock in the external door. drying room with non functioning dryer. Foully Towers comparing to Attunga lodge would be a Hilton

Review 17:breakfast only

Review 18:The male at reception didn't seem to like questions. The lodge is incorrectly marked in the village map. The layout is a little bit like a rabbit warren but it is built in the hill like most lodges. A woman tried to enter our room at night, probably forgot where her room was. Spa had cold swimming pool water in it as waters were merged instead of separate. Overall a positive experience however.

Review 19:The position of the lodge is excellent although in spring you need to use stairs rather than ski to lifts and back. Accommodation in twin room was small but clean, breakfast was lovely and there was a dining option for evening. Sauna was old but works well.

Review 20:Mould on the walls and carpet. Mouldy smell in the room. If mould irritates your nose this isn't the place to be.

Review 21:Location is good, price is reasonable compared to other hotels. Not much here, a tired lodge, but ok to sleep the night.

Review 22:staff ( particular one of the female staff) attitude, arrogance and not bring polite at all! the manager tried to compensate for her but..... not good experience

Review 23:location location location

Review 24:Floors were dirty with food stains and needed a good shampoo. There were dirty dishes in the cupboards. There are other properties for the same price that are of a much higher standard - I think this is overpriced. Definitely 3 stars not 4

Review 25:Great location close to the lifts. Pool was great after a long day. The bedrooms were a good size and comfortable

Review 26:Very disappointing to find spa was COOL and pool not very warm ..... Felt let down as pool and spa had been a booking decider for us. We had a very small room, would choose to upsize for extra space next time

Review 27:Friendly Well located for skiing in and out Pleasant common lounge room Generous cooked breakfasts

Review 28:Bed was hard after a day on the slopes.

Review 29:We stayed with a family of 8 and found the set up worked well. The small bath edge with shower was enough for preschoolers to sit. Ski in and out or a lot of steps if not. Fine for all but one of us. Transport was good and food works delivers to your room. Warm and comfortable.

Review 30:instant coffee - not percolated or plunger need to change the chef - food drowned in sauces free wifi in rooms is expected as soap is in ensuites everything is on the cheap side -bathroom accessories, lighting (a candle would be more effective), towels, quality of food, etc - all acceptable for a 2-3 star accommodation

Review 31:cant ski past the lodge , you have to unclip and walk up hill to get to the lodge its not far but when you have kids its a hassle

Review 32:good pool and spa good rooms

Review 33:-Hotel management staff were not very friendly/ helpful -Mattress very saggy -Room too small for an extended stay

Review 34:-Clean rooms -Sauna and pool -Drying room -Complimentary breakfast

Review 35:The bed was not to my liking but otherwise good

Review 36:It was always warm in the apartment after a day in the snow.

Review 37:The close proximity to the heart of the resort. The friendly nature of the staff was appreciated.

Review 38:Cosy, comfortable, and welcoming

Review 39:No free WiFi

Review 40:Great location, very friendly staff.

Review 41:Old school décor - not a big issue!

Review 42:Friendly and helpful staff and great location. Restaurant was pleasant - good service.

Review 43:The poor hotel cleaniness

Review 44:The customer service

Review 45:We had a Twin Room,it is very small and cramp.I am sure the other rooms eg Double,2 Bed Apartments etc are excellent.

Review 46:Staff,very friendly and helpful.

Review 47:The location and having an apartment

Review 48:drying room didn't work

Review 49:restaurant was good

Review 50:Everything. Size of room was too small. No cleaning was done. No view from the room.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:No free beer. Ha ha ha

Review 53:The spot on location. Being greeted by the owner is always a bonus and the ever so helpful staff to boot. Value for money %100

Review 54:Loved relaxing in the bar and having a drink at the end of a days skiing

Review 55:Generally, the hotel needs an update all over. Quite expensive for what you get.

Review 56:Friendly, helpful staff; breakfast; the views.

Review 57:Room size and quality of room. Well overpriced.

Review 58:The view and location

Review 59:Staff

Review 60:The staff were sometimes lovely and sometimes abrupt.

Review 61:The location was great however you do pay a heavy price. Clean, comfortable and cosy.

Review 62:Good spot to stay, rooms where nice and cosy, close to main ski lift and friendly staff

Review 63:The exit too and from the ski rack was very dangerous in the snow, there must be a rail put up to hold onto

Review 64:Breakfast

Review 65:great location and good value for money

Review 66:A little dated and windows not the safest for little kids.

Review 67:Pool, bar and restaurant.

Review 68:External access to ski storage was not safe due to snow build up not being cleared.

Review 69:Location, views, friendly staff, great food.

Review 70:I shared a twin room with a friend. It was very small and had no outlook and storage sace was very limited. Fortunately, we were able to spend time in our other friends' apartments.

Review 71:The atmosphere at Attunga was very homely and friendly. The breakfast, which was included in our price was brilliant - huge, varied and exceptionally well cooked and presented. The lounge-bar provided a great spot to relax with views over the mountains.
