Reviews for Motel 6 Cheyenne
Review 1:If I was looking for a place to stay when I wasn't dog tired and just looking to get back on the road then I would look elsewhere.
Review 2:Priced appropriately. For a bed to keep from crashing it served admirably. Clean, serviceable, two beds, staff available at all hours for check in and out.
Review 3:Noisy - next to a very busy railway line. When I asked for extra pillows I was told they didn't have any. I don't believe that a hotel with over 100 rooms couldn't find an extra pillow. I think the staff just could not be bothered to fetch one!
Review 4:- I was lucky there weren't that many trains passing by that night, but at some point I thought the earth was collapsing, very early morning. After a few secs I realised it was the train. Except for that, most of them passed by very slowly, you you only heard the cars squeak. - This Motel 6 is very, very old. The parking lot is full of potholes and damages. The pool didn't look clean too. - Requested a room on the road-side (not the railroad side), but my request wasn't honoured.
Review 5:- Only Motel 6 in the area - Very nice lady who checked me in - Parking right in front of my room
Review 6:Old and used (unlike many Motel 6) Check in was very complicated, they required each guesst signature and passport ... it took us 30 minutes to just check in into 4 rooms. Receptionist tried her best, but owner (or manager, not sure) was unfriendly.
Review 7:Nothing.
Review 8:second floor room, I have disability, and older dog 150 lbs, had carry up stairs to 2nd floor. grounds were dirty and unkempt , No hot water. when checking was not told WIFI was available, when I got to my room, find out WIFI was available, so called the front desk for password, I was asked if I paid for it, said No was not told, was available, told her, ok so add to my room charge. Was told no, had to go all the way back to the office. After driving 15 hours straight that was not going to happen, so ended up using my mobile hot spot. very disappointment, spent good money and next time I will go to the hotel with free WIFI, bet a lot cleaner. I will never use Motel 6 again, sad spent good money to learn this lesson.
Review 9:The beds were awful. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. and NO TOILETRIES. They told us they had a machine to buy what you needed. Really !!!!! Motels always supply these and when you are traveling by motorcycle. with minimal space, we expected to have them for showering !
Review 10:not one thing!!
Review 11:the building is need of repair. Emergency egress to some rooms was impeded from by a blocked stairway. The staff first put us in an dirty room that had not been cleaned and it was 4:45pm. The Hotel was next to a railroad tract with trains going by very often.
Review 12:Nothing really, except pet stay free. Really thin walls, I could hear the people above me, next doors, and the train was super loud.
Review 13:Staff was decent, even though she asked several times if I could take a single instead of a double with 3 adults. I guess it was busy being sturgis bike week and all.
Review 14:You had to pay for wifi and there was no breakfast! I've stayed at nicer hotels for close to the same price and wifi and breakfast was included in the price. Disappointing Motel 6!!
Review 15:Hotel staff was super helpful
Review 16:We paid for sporadic Wi - Fi and were not told it was only for one device. Probably would not have stayed there if we knew it was right beside a train track.
Review 17:The hotel is right on the railway and a very long mechandise train work at night as well, the sound level is very very high! We satid two nights and our room hasn't been cleaned, beds not done, bin not emptied.... The price is way too high for a none existing service and comfort.
Review 18:The front desk staff was very pleasant.
Review 19:It was loud and right next to the railroad tracks. Room was adequate. It had the most bizarre shower I have ever seen! Couldn't decide if I trusted the location.
Review 20:It was easy to get to and pretty close to Frontier Days.
Review 21:AC inop/$150 per day and no free wifi/internet charge per device. bathroom door that would no close, dirty air grills, dirty floor moldings, cracked lavatory sink and plumbing, paltry towels
Review 22:close to downtown
Review 23:the room we booked on booking.com was not the room we actually got, there was hair from previous people in the bathroom and on the table, the bed was super uncomfortable, there wasn't complimentary breakfast or free wifi, the pool was out of service, it's right next to a train track that goes all night, the TV was from the 90s and the staff wasn't friendly.
Review 24:Terribly noisy, people yelling and screaming in the room nearby...very scary for my son and I! Trains coming thru the entire night...needless to say hardly any sleep!
Review 25:This hotel is located 10 meters from a freight yard. Trains run all night and the noise with keep you awake all night. Hotel room is very small. Wifi isn't free (advertised at $2.99 but they charge $5.00 + tax per device!) and is so slow to be almost unusable. Some strange people milling around the property all night And didn't feel safe. Room a/c hardly worked (we put it on to try to drown out the noise of the trains) but sounds like a diesel generator. Room was advertised as non smoking but stank and had ashtrays. After we finally managed to sleep got a call from the front desk at 3am to ask us to keep the noise down!!!! Not really apologetic went it was explained we were fast asleep. Woken again just after 5am by a freight train being shunted. Very nearly left at 3am to find another hotel. Property is very run down. The advertised pool is empty and the building is literally crumbling away to the extent one stair case to the upper level is sealed off with steel shutters as the concrete steps have collapsed. Avoid!!
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:No breakfast but for the price it was worth it.
Review 28:was remodeled so was very nice room. The staff was very nice. Many local places with Interstate ramps close.
Review 29:The beds were too hard. You had to pay for wifi. You have only one working washer and dryer and the laundry room trash was alway full. Plus we never got fresh towels nor in the 3 days was the sheets changed.
Review 30:When I called about wifi, the person who answered the phone was curt and said I had to make another trip to the office to pay. I drove a couple of blocks away and picked up wifi from a motel or restaurant nearby
Review 31:Air conditioner didn't work; room was not cleaned and replenished for our two night stay; train was very noisy by room.
Review 32:Staff was helpful when we needed new towels.
Review 33:Construction caused lots of dust. Door latch stuck - had to hit door lever hard to open door. Took long time for shower water to get warm.
Review 34:Price was good.
Review 35:first night all I heard is barking dogs, second night I got to listen to a arguing couple for the bulk of the night. I was there because my husband had surgery and needed my sleep. I will never stay there again.
Review 36:Road noise permeated the room the entire duration of our stay. The parking lot was covered in potholes. The overall appearance of the facility exterior seemed dingy and in need of maintenance.
Review 37:Bed was comfortable. Front office check-in young lady was professional, gregarious, and competent.
Review 38:The location below the train tracks was horrible, I replaced their bedding with mine, floor not clean it was the worst place I stayed at on my entire 6000 mi. trip.
Review 39:nothing
Review 40:The blanket and sheets were clean in the bed, but there were cigarette burns in the comforter even though the room is "non smoking". First stay was literally right next tot he train tracks. It was pretty loud, but we are used to living next to the train so it was no big deal. Rooms on the other side of the building is much quieter.
Review 41:The room and bathroom were clean. Small room, but big enough for a young couple. Nothing really fancy, but the room was clean and warm.
Review 42:The room was very clean. The staff was accommodating, John helped fix a non-working TV remote right away. About a 10 minute drive to many restaurants/shopping. The room was quiet and comfortable. It was a good place to chill after a long day of driving.
Review 43:Rail spur immediately behind (and above) property made for huge noise surprise. (I thought a train had derailed.) Beware if you can't go back to sleep in the middle of the night.
Review 44:Noise. Staff wasn't very pleasant. There was a regular guest from the railroad who walked in behind me & the desk clerk talked to him the whole time I was trying to check in. Didn't pay much attention to me unless I got her attention.
Review 45:It was a bed and I was tired.
Review 46:The manager Mona was very childish and not professional. She wouldn't come speak to us when we asked for her. She just stood behind the wall where she could hear us and made her front desk agent be the middle man in our conversation.
Review 47:There are ash trays in Non-smoking rooms with tags saying "for your keys". A corporate policy according to the desk!!?? Room smelled after 5 minutes.
Review 48:refund when we left
Review 49:Couldn't sleep a wink all night. The hotel backs on to a freight railway line and the trains sound their very loud horns constantly. The room and bed sheets also sank of stale smoke. Avoid like the plague.
Review 50:Train whistle noise--has nothing to do with hotel except location. Bed needs to be replaced.
Review 51:John, at the front desk was incredibly helpful and found us a great place for dinner with free pie--homemade free pie! Shari's -- don't miss it. Shower recently replaced and was very nice.
Review 52:Beds were a little hard. But for a night to get some sleep while passing through, it's a great value. Too bad no milk/juice or anything in the a.m. Only coffee.
Review 53:Close proximity to interstate. Close to restaurants/fast food. While some complain of the train noise, it's entirely minimal, and actually soothing to some degree. I would stay here again.
Review 54:I didn't like the location, the room was not up to standard in cleanliness, it smelled of smoke, and the door was very difficult to completely lock
Review 55:Not much, actually...the facility was run down, we had a no smoking room which smelled of smoke, and which had an ashtray in the room. The clerk seemed harried, and while helpful, wasn't really very friendly..
Review 56:I did not like the rise in the price of room because of the Frontier Days Rodeo. There were many holes in the curtain by the window. Small but many. I dont think that people could see inside but we could see outside.
Review 57:Close to everything that we wanted to see. We have stayed there many times in the past few years. Close to RR tracks but we stayed away from the side of the RR.
Review 58:Room was dirty. Bugs on ceiling and floor. CHARGED ME DOUBLE THE NORMAL RATE ($143) DUE TO CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS Cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. Despite being a non-smoking room it smelled horrible. Room hadn't been renovated ever. Next to an active railyard. Room was so bad we just left and didn't stay. I complained to Motel 6 online and they did nothing except say they were sorry. Pitiful!!
Review 59:No coffee pot or microwave in rooms. But the biggest problem is the train noise at night. I could hear someone in the next room snoring but that was drowned out by the train horns.
Review 60:The room was and comfortable. The staff was very professional and friendly.
Review 61:OK, where should I start regarding this hotel? Let's start with my main problem: NOISE! The hotel is located within 20 metres of a train track which is in use almost all night long by huge freight trains who honk their horns because of the crossing. The ventilation system of this hotel is very noisy. In addition to that the walls and windows are paperthin. All in all: expect to have no sleep at all (even with earplugs in!) The location of the hotel is in an industrial area so expect some driving to so before getting into a decent restaurant. The hotel breaths a sense of outdatedness with broken concrete everywhere (including the stairs) and dirty carpets and curtains. The temperature of the shower is also determined by the amount of other occupants who use the shower at the same time. Silly thing is that the shower itself is not bad at all. WiFi is not free ($3 per night) and slow (1mbps up and down). Only good point I have found is that the receptionist is very friendly. Please avoid this place at all costs!
Review 62:Very friendly personnel
Review 63:the close proximity to the rail road track was not mentioned on the internet and it was very disturbing sleep with the whistles going off all night long.
Review 64:We didn't get there until after 4 in the afternoon to check in our room wasn't even ready! We decided to pay for our room anyway because we were there for Frontier Days and had a concert to go to. The lady at the desk said she would call when our room was ready. No phone call at all, thankfully we did pay in advance because we were able to pick up our keys and get our room after the concert was over.
Review 65:we did not get into our room until 730pm because they were too busy and short staffed so we unfortunately missed the first part of our concert at Cheyenne Frontier Days
Review 66:the room was clean and the location was convenient
Review 67:Room dirty, beds hard , old. Pool not in operation as promised. no coffee in room Price gorged for Fronteir Days. Railroad tracks noisy. No elevator to room. Staff looked dirty and unkempt.
Review 68:We picked this hotel, mainly so my girls could enjoy the outside pool. The pool did not even have water in it. The bathroom was not clean. there was dirt and food on the floor and some unknown gunk on the side of the shower.
Review 69:The ac blew cold, They did make sure we had clean towels. Staff was nice and friendly.
Review 70:Room was not ready at 7:30 pm. Employees openly complaining about guests and having to work too much. Room was filthy, ice bucket was full of vomit. Staff offered a 10% discount because of problems, finally gave a 50% discount, I think room should have been free!!!!!!!
Review 71:The motel is eight next to trains going by every 30 minutes. Bed was uncomfortable and sheets were stiff and rough. No clock in room. No coffee pot.
Review 72:- trains on two sides of the motel - very limited parking - pool was closed, covered, out of service - no tv channel guides. C'mon. This is 2014!!
Review 73:Low cost
Review 74:Terrible wifi consisting of low speed and bad connectivity. Considering it costs extra, they need to fix the internet problem. Loud housekeeping staff.
Review 75:Friendly front desk staff. Good bed and shower.
Review 76:Really uncomfortable bed!! Really old TV, kept shutting off.
Review 77:Sheets looked like they hadn't been changed and no hot water for shower.
Review 78:Staff

Review 104:Close enough to Frontier Days activities.
Review 105:the fact that prices where so inflated for frontier days

Review 109:Had to wait 2.5 hours in a sweltering lobby for my room
Review 110:The maintenance man was a good guy
