Review 1：Absolutely nothing.
Review 2：John and his wife could not have been more helpful, with bins cleared daily, fresh towels offered each day, and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous day fishing with John too! The room was absolutely immaculate - the cleanest room and the best welcome and stay in the entire 3 week trip to New Zealand. Can't recommend it enough.

Review 7：Spacious apartment, everything worked well, secure parking in enclosed garage, felt safe and it was quiet. Very close to sea and jetty, unfortunate it didn't have a view.

Review 14：Very quiet and relaxing with excellent location close to shops and on the waterfront. However one needs to remember that IF you stay in Russell $12 each way is required on the car ferry in order to explore the more populated and touristy places on the other side of the bay. The cost can add up over a period of several days. Helpful staff and super clean in our roomy 1 bed apartment.

Review 16：Loved the clean rooms, the facilities inside the room were great. Parking was brilliant and the fact that it was central to the "entire" local amenities offered by Russell was great. SPA was fab. John and Rongo are super friendly and so helpful.
Review 17：The owners of Hananui are very friendly and extremely helpful. The location of the motel sells itself. And the units (size, cleanliness and the decor) show someone has put a great deal of thought and effort into making this a great place to stay.

Review 19：From the friendly, genuinely warm welcome, through the large, well appointed and furnished apartment, to the view - everything about this stay was excellent. Comfort of guests was paramount in this self-catering accomodation. Little things often overlooked - like a decent wardrobe, bathroom bench space, storage & hooks, unobtrusive cleaning - were all provided. Made our choice of Russell over Paihia feel even better.

Every facility provided (eg filter coffee, toaster, laundry, sauna ...). Fantastic view from the beachfront room we were in. - but worth noting that the other rooms do not have such a good view (maybe part sea-view)

Review 26：The suit was light and airy, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and above all - clean. Had all the little extras that can make a huge difference to your stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 29：The only issue was that we could hear everything that was going on next door and as our neighbours were late to bed and early to rise - and snored - it made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Review 41：To explain our rating on the comfort of bed - it was too soft for us, we prefer a harder matress - especially in the heat of summer time. Just a personal preference though :)
Review 42：Friendly and accommodating staff and owners. We were travelling with a domestic sized moving truck, and they went out of their way to help give us safe parking on-site.

Review 49：Russell is a compact little town with lots of history. The accommodation is very centrally located with an excellent choice of places to eat. The room was spotless and spacious with everything we could possibly need. Our hosts were welcoming and very helpful with advice about places to visit and sights to see. We would definitely stay again!

A bonus for us unrelated to the accomodation was the Orca whales playing in the harboour seen from the car ferry ride over. We would definetly recommend.

The setting is just perfect, overlooking the bay and a very short walk to the jetty, shops and restaurants. The accommodation was extremely clean, comfortable and well appointed. Sitting out on the balcony looking at the sea and boats was heavenly. We definitely would love to return here again but for longer next time.
Review 70：Russell is a wonderfully charming place to stay in the Far North for a couple of nights & Hananui I will DEFINATELY be staying at again. Such a warm & friendly stay with helpful information on things to do, places to eat etc. I cannot fault it.

The town is a gem and the people are friendly. We used the kitchen for meals and brought food back as the setting for dinner is best in town.

Review 76：Very friendly welcome on arrival with lots of local information. Fantastic free spa pool on site Comfortable beds, flat screen TV, very well equipped kitchen area. Tasteful and modern interior decor. Owners could not be more helpful answering all questions asked, offering and allowing us to use a fridge on last day after we had checked out, whilst we went on a boat trip- returning several hours later to collect our foods. Would recommend to everyone.

The unit was immaculate, I asked for the secret of how to get the stainless bench so sparkling! We had everything you could want and more in the room and it was very spacious. A beautiful spot in Russell and we will be back.

John and his wife gave us such an amazing and warm welcome, as we had not being the region before John gave us a brief history and advised of all of the attractions including places to eat. They both really went above and beyond to accommodate us. The apartment was fantastic.

Review 83：The warm welcome after a long trip in difficult weather conditions. The explanation given on the history and relevance of Russell. Also, the cleanliness of the room was excellent and the location of the property to where it all happens in Russell was really good. All in all a great place to stay and the owners make sure that everything about the lodge is perfect. For those budding hoteliers I suggest you go to this place and find out how to do it!!

A 2-minute stroll through a reserve to the beach and several waterside restaurants. The apartment was well furnished and very clean, and the private spa was a bonus.
