Review 2：Thank you very much Ganga and Jaliya. Your hospitality was priceless. Ganga local food was absolutely amazing and conversations really pleasant. You gave us a lot of important tips for traveling around Sri Lanka and also some pleasant tips for life. Apartment was clean and offering all the comfort like good wi-fi, protection against mosquitos, AC... Minimal distance to Kandy is also no problem because Juliyo takes care for transport. For your work with helpong tourist get around Sri Lanka as easy as possible you get a perfect 10!

Review 3：From the moment we arrived on an early train and were offered the most amazing breakfast from the beautiful hosts we were sold!! Jaliya and Ganga were exceptional hosts! Ganga's cooking was so good we ate in all three nights we stayed...too much food and so many options in the one meal as with breakfast and all delicious!! We were in the second house with a stunning mountain view and our own ensuite! Jaliya would pick us up and drop us off in town or between houses for dinner and breaky with no fuss. There was even a spare mobile phone we could use to call him. This meant the location being a bit up the hill out of town centre was no problem. Instead it was peaceful and quiet. Nothing was too much trouble! Endless water was supplied as well as beer! We really felt like family and were sad to leave! Highly highly recommend staying here!

Review 4：I would recommend this hotel to everybody I know. The hosts were so lovely and helpful. The breakfast was by far the best I've had in Sri Lanka and the dinner was amazing! Internet is working everywhere and the view in our room and in the common areas is breathtaking.

Review 5：Very friendly welcome. The moment we stepped in the door the owners offered us ginger cookies and made us fresh pineapple juice. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They offered free transport to and from Kandy and they even had an extra guest phone that we could take with us so we could call them when we needed to be picked up. The food is amazing and plentiful! We highly recommend asking for dinner.

Review 6：We were at a different location from the main guesthouse as the main house was full. This in itself is not the issue, it was having to drive to the main house for the breakfast. It would've been nice if we could eat at the second house. Room was on the cramped side and struggled to fit our suitcases - maybe not a problem if your backpacking. The views are nice but not as good as other places we have stayed in Kandy.

Review 7：The owners are very friendly and made us feel very welcome and at home. Breakfast selection here was one of the best in our whole Sri Lanka trip, particularly given the price. We were given plent of bottles of water to take and also offered free beer if we wanted. Furnishing in he house were nice and comfortable. Entire house is immaculately clean and well presented. The breakfast table is one large table and so it gives a chance to speak to other travellers which is nice.

Review 8：Amazing mountain view. Warm welcome by the host family. Very nice food for breakfast. Free transport from & to city center!! Taxi driver didn't show up on time '4am' had to travel Kandy-Colombo to catch flight! Mr Jaliya 'host' drove me himself!

They really put a lot of effort into making each and every person feel at home and are comfortable. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them! Ganga cooks the MOST AMAZING food, and gives a fantastic array of choices. Also, as a single female traveller, I really felt that they were looking out for my safety. Review 10：Jaliya and Ganga are the most warm and welcoming people of Sri Lanka! I had such a lovely time staying at Hatana Home Stay - it was a highlight of my 12 days in Sri Lanka. The room was comfortable, wifi was strong and the breakfast was out of this world. You feel like you are at home with great friends - Jaliya and Ganga along with their staff are just so accommodating and wonderfully nice people. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer due to my itinerary!

Review 12：It didn't feel like being in a hotel or guesthouse, it felt like visiting your relatives in Sri Lanka you didn't even know to exist! The couple who run the place are the most welcoming and warm, one of the best places we have ever stayed in any of our trips. (And the food is just amazing!)

They will do anything to help you get the most out of your stay. I would really recommend it to anyone questioning if they should try a home stay as this is going to be the best home stay experience you will ever have. We really didn't want to leave. Oh and the food was amazing. But beware finishing your plate as it will be filled up again straight away. :)

This is really convenient! + If your plans are more elaborate, they can set you up with drivers last-minute and you are sure to get a fair price. + The breakfast is the best I had in Sri Lanka . and is virtually never-ending. + If you ask, you can stay for dinner (oh my, so good!) + The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom in very good shape. + And last not but least, the owners are really social and speak perfect English: you will truly feel at home.

Review 18：Hmm...nothing much that I dislike, if I had to mention then probably is the water is not very hot. If you are particular on being able to take hot shower then probably you need to reconsider, other than that everything is fine.

They really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and drove us in and out of city centre although not far and also made the best recommendations for what to do and what to avoid. Also helped with our transport to mirissa. The breakfasts are divine. The true Sri Lanka experience. I will definitely stay there again.

They like what they do and it's clear that they prefer to see they guests happy than to earn a lot of money. Thank you for looking after me when i was ill and including me in your daily activities! They will go above and beyond in helping you with transport and any other arrangements. Review 33：We were picked up at Kandy Station after a 20 hour journey and were welcomed with a huge selfmade and delicious lunch. The accomodation is a little bit outside off Kandy therefore the nights in there well equiped home were more than relaxing. Additionally the amazing view is breath taking. Transport was no Problem because We were dropped in Kandy and later again picked up whenever we wanted. And ofc. This service was free of charge. Furthermore the outstanding breakfast, heart warming hosts and the willingness to fullfill every demand make this place a heaven for all travelers. We miss it already.

Review 34：Bathroom queue might occur in the mornings. The AC in our room, the room with the double bed, needs a cleaning as it smells a bit mouldy. The house is up in the hills approx 10-12 minutes drive from the Centre.

Review 35：The people here are amazing! Beautiful home and a great wibe. Breakfast is mostly pancakes in different shapes which is good. We would rather prefer a more Sri Lankan breakfast though, but that's our preference.

Review 36：A rating of 10 is simply not high enough for Ganga and Jaliya! It is by far the best place you can stay in Sri Lanka! The food is amazing, you are treated like being a family member - they really care for you. The free shuttle service is great! We will come back as soon as possible!

Ganga a gifted cook prepared a sumptuous n delicious authentic Sri Lankan dinner on our request . Prior to our arrival Jaylia contacted us how we went to Kandy and gave us free pick up and drop off at various places in the town. The house is so cosy and clean, Ganga prepared varies kind of delicious food & tasty drink during our stay and let us use her washing machine to get laundry! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

It is unbelieveble, but the love, the care, the hospitity, the help and the joy you will get from this people is unmatched. The accomodation is more then good, but the people make it perfect. Review 51：Honestly, I did not expect I can meet so nice, frank, informal, cheerful, humorous but most important very right-minded host and hostess during my Sri Lanka trip. They are quite easy to get close to, especially the beatiful smile and eyes of hostess, which I will never forget. They were always trying best to give us a comfort stay in Kandy, and always be considerate of guests. The hostess tried all her best to make different breakfast for guests, i.e. traditional Chinese food for us and Indian food for another India family stayed with them, also mixed some local Sri Lanka food, as part of culture. The host often reminds us not to be cheated by some profiteers.They are quite ensusiastic. Many guests were invited for their family BBQ, with various food, from seafood, beef, lamp, etc, for FREE, only because they are happy that day! In general, they made us feel like staying with family. (actually we always say, let's go home, naturally, after whole day tour in or near Kandy). The only reason of that I think is their attentiveness. They put their heart into taking care of guests and they enjoy making friends with people from the world. Sorry for my late comments, my dear Ganga. I do remember my promise to you. Please be always happy as you are, I am sure which will brighter more and more people from the world to Kandy!

The house is hidden in a quite & peaceful corner, Jaliya picked us up from the train station and drove us around in the city for free! He also recommended nice place to go and wonderful local restaurant. Ganga is a great cook, she prepared super delicious breakfast, you will miss the coconut pancake for a couple of days. They are really nice couple with whom you can talk for hours. I will definitely visit them again if I have a chance to go back to Sri Lanka.

Review 61：The homestay has 2 properties - the main building and another building 3-4 minutes away by car. We stayed in the other building, which is also good, however if is in a residential hill area which means that when you want to leave the house or comeback to the house you have to call the owner and wait for a pick-up. Both buildings are located about 15 mins away from the centre of Kandy. Although the owner is helpful and drives you when possible, again you need to wait for the car pick-up or wait for a specific tuk tuk. Our personal preference when traveling is to have more freedom in terms of moving around town.

Review 70：The staff is very nice. We stayed for 5 nights and they were always very helpful and friendly. They picked us up in the city and brought us there as well. The owners have a lot of good recommendations were to go and always help you with your questions. They did our laundry for free! It really felt like home there. We even had a bbq with them one night and had a lot of fun talking and relaxing. Ganga always makes a lot of food (breakfast and dinner) which is very nice. For breakfast there is plenty of sweet stuff like pancakes, fresh fruit and juice and as well salty staff. We never had to eat lunch after the big breakfast. Dinner was very good as well. Normally I don't really like rice but ganga made a very good one with vegetables and egg inside. There were plenty of dishes to eat with the rice like eggplants, chicken, beans with bacon and so on. Review 72：One of the best experience we had in sri lanka. We arrived one day earlier and that was no problem. The house was allready fully booked for this day so jaliya asked the neighboor. We could easy stay at neighboors house for one night which was also really nice. The house is a little bit outside of kandy but you get your own driver for free. :-) We felt from the start like home and it was really nice to spent time at this beautiful place. The breakfast is just awesome!!! We couldn't get enough. On the second day we decided to stay at home for dinner. It was just a perfect evening with a lot of interesting discussions about sri lanka and their live.

Review 92：Very nice stay here. Jaliya and Ganga are very nice and helpful. When wearrived in Kandy, Jaliya came to the bus station to pick us up. In theevening, they even sent a Tutu (we don't need to pay) to pick us upfrom the city center to the house in case that other tutu driverdon't know how to get there. After dinner, guests from differentcountry sit around the table and chatted with each other, about theirown country and culture. Very nice experience. The house is verybeautiful with a small garden. Lots of different flowers and they arewell taken care of. To add to that, the breakfast are amazing. Gangaprepared the Indian food for us, very delicious. I like Parata and thepancake very much, haha.

Review 97：The owner is very nice and polite and he picked us when we arrived at the Kandy bus station. The Hantana Home Stay is like a little garden and the view from the place is very amazing, you can see the sunset and sunrise directly from your room. Meanwhile, the owner can give many good advice.Most importantly, "aunt" can cook a lot of delicious food and pack some of the food for taking away because she is afraid we will be hungry! So sweet!

Review 99：Great hosts who are always happy to help from picking you up at the train station, dropping you off in Kandy and loaning you a Sri Lankan phone so you can call them to pick you up as and when you want. The breakfast is amazing and for $6 each you can dine with them and get a taste of authentic Sri Lankan food. Rooms are nice and clean and the hosts are more than happy to assist you if (unlikely) you find anything wrong or need any extra assistance.

Review 100：2 weeks traveling in Sri Lanka, this was the very best accommodation we had! The hosts are just lovely, helping you having fun in Kandy, driving you around for free and the self-made breakfast is really EXCELLENT :) we slept in a good equipped room with beautiful view on Kandys hills. They will also give you best advices for you trip and great tips. Best breakfast ever by Ganga with a lot of love, she will treat you like her own child for sure. Review 102：Despite my girlfriend and I backpacking through Sri lanka on a budget we spent a little extra than usual to stay with J and Ganga at Hantana Homestay. We wanted to see how a booking.com review score of 9.7 could be possible. Long story short we are giving it a 10. Hospitable, approachable, we felt like friends not guests. Thank you.

Review 103：The best you could ever imagine . Definitely the best in Sri Lanka 1. We received a very warm welcome with hot towel and black tea. 2.The breakfast is very good with both western and Sri Lanka choice and Fresh squeezed juice and it's free! 3.Though there's some distance from the town center, the owner sent us whenever we want so it's not a problem at all 4.host are very decent and trustworthy , you can not easily find that in Sri Lanka . We had a very pleasant stay in kandy , whenever we're at house , we see big smile .we wish we could stay more days and if we ever come back to Kandy that's definitely our only choice .

Review 105：Breakfast and dinner are both delicious. The host is very nice to us. The house is on the mountain, so people should take tuk tuk there. But the air and environment is really good. A little hard to find. We can use washing machine there also. Generally it's very good.

Review 107：You could not ask for better hosts. They were incredibly friendly. Ended up having having tea and talking with them for a couple of hours during check in! They couldn't do enough for us. More than happy to make us our choice of dinner and breakfast and the food was delicious, to say the least. Wifi was very quick. The room, very clean. Additionally, having lived in Kandy for a long time, the couple were well educated about the sights there. Will recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay around Kandy.

Review 108：We were very well-taken of during our stay. Jaliya and Ganga are very friendly and generous owners who treated us like family members. We had wonderful conversations sharing about travel, culture and life experiences. Free pickup at Kandy train station so we had no problem finding the place. Getting around Kandy was convenient as Jaliya would arrange a tuk-tuk or car. Our lunch and dinner at Hantana was fantastic! Authentic home-cooked food by Ganga. Well-spread of dishes with generous portions. Highly recommend Hantana Home Stay in Kandy for a truly homestay experience!

Review 109：Jaliya and Ganga are the loveliest hosts that could be! Amazing service as soon as we arrive in Kandy with a pick up from the train station and the a lovely welcome to the house and a great plan for the next day to visit all the great sights of Kandy. The food was amazing! By far the best meals we had in Sri Lanka! Amazing Value for money as well as the service and the friendship you get is priceless! Would without doubt recommend this place to anyone who was travelling to Sri Lanka

Review 111：What did you like: 1. Jaliya and Ganga are the owners of Hantana Home stay. They sent an email noticing us their mobile number before our arrival- very considerate! 2. Since their homestay is at the top of a mountain, they drove down to meet us and guided our driver to their homestay. 3. The prepared local black tea and some cookies and showed us their decoration, photos on the wall. We felt warm in a country we first visit, which made us feel like back home! 4. He breakfast next morning was lavish: 3 kinds of local pan cakes, breads with butter and 2 jams, papaya juice, local porridge, milk and fruits! Worth the price which is only 40USD per room! Jaliya also took us to the top of Hantana mountain to see cloud sea. We definitely recommend their Hantana Homestay to friends.
