Review 1：Some guests and their children ignored the pool rules and endangered others with their undisciplined behaviour. Some extra control is required!
Review 2：The design of accommodation, the pool and RUSSEL is our favourite NZ Resort with its European,feel, the bay and its jetty and wonderful Long beach and the Pacific Ocean a short wald or drive over the hill.
Review 3：We loved staying at Russell Cottages. We stayed there over Christmas and it was the most relaxing place to stay. The manager was fantastic and was very friendly and helpful. We were so close to town that we didn't need to drive anywhere. Would definitely recommend Russell Cottages to anyone.
Review 4：Cottage was modern, clean and very well equipped. The facilities were great, especially the pool for my 5 year old. The reception staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble (a late night call about a key problem was dealt with immediately) would highly recommend to anyone!
Review 5：There were four of us, two couples. Our cottage was very comfortable and it helped that it was so close to Russell's village centre. If we ever get a chance to come back we'll book a longer stay.

Review 8：The cottage is complete, spacious, modern, clean and well-maintained, close walk to the village. The layout of the campus of 6 cottages is outstanding -- their orientations give each the feel of being separate and private. Matthew is an efficient, friendly host. We didn't use the pool ourselves, but we saw families enjoying it greatly, even with air temp in the 60's (F). We will highly recommend Russell Cottages to anyone.

The wifi is now free, but we could only get one device on at a time - very frustrating with a large party, for which the cottage is clearly designed!

Review 16：My only gripe was the bed was a little soft for me and the pillows were not very good, but that was only because I forgot to take my own. My partner had no trouble with the bed at all, it was only me.
Review 17：The location was a 2 minute walk to town. Matthew, the manager, was a delight. Our cottage was lovely and clean. Everything was provided and the shower was amazing!!!!!! We spent most of our time just sitting on the deck of the cottage watching the amazing bird life in the ancient totter behind our cottage. Would go back for sure!!
Review 18：fantastic location, great cottages just like being at home. Staff so accommodating with arrival, advice and checkout. Tours, dining and things to see were limited as we vacationed in the off season but sufficient. Walking distance to all amenities. RSA particularly friendly and welcoming.

Review 27：Got great discount. Nice roomy, clean individual cottage felt like home with everything you need. Helpful and friendly staffs gave us free wi-fi and parking after check out to go to the boat tour. Easy short walk down to the wharf/center. Quiet and very nice garden settings.
Review 28：A shame we keep thinking Northland is sub-tropical - it's not. These buildings should have been fully insulated when they were built - not just meeting the minimum standard.

Review 33：No electric blankets on 2nd and 3rd beds, no double plugs so you could only have 2 out of three things plugged in e.g. radio, electric blanket, bedside light. No information about facilities in Russell - lots of information about wider BOI/Northland area.

Review 35：I didn't give a top score for comfort because there were only thin blankets and a bedspread on the beds,no blankets in the cupboard and no electric blanket on the bed upstairs so unfortunately it was very cold. A suggestion given the quality of the accomodation is to have ground coffee sachets for the plunger

Review 54：This lovely place was let down by poor kitchen utensils - e.g. no salad or fruit bowls, a peeler that didn't work, tatty table mats. If a full kitchen is offered, it needs to be properly equipped.
Review 55：Excellent place to stay with a family or a group as there is a very spacious living area with full kitchen and large dining table. Good pool area. Close to everything, but quiet and relatively secluded. Good quality carpets, beds, etc.
Review 56：It was very very dark inside and hardly no natural light at all. We had to turn all the lights on even in the day time. The ensuite bathroom was very small with no bath so not a five star bathroom. I understand why as the layout of the cottage meant that as we had a "one bedroom" that we would have the downstairs bedroom, but should not be advertised as five star as very poky. I initially thought that we had been given a not so good cottage, but when I looked around at the others, I realised that we actually had the best one (no. 13) as the others had zero privacy on their decks. It was a strange set up and I don't think it "worked". I would make sure that all the curtains and lights are turned before anyone arrived as the first impression counts for so much and we were very disappointed on arrival as it was so dark.
Review 57：The cottage was nice a spacious and only a short walk to the Duke of Marlborough where we ate both nights. It was comfortable.
Review 58：No tea pot, even when asked for (trivial I know!). Very cold, hard to heat, heat seemed to be wasted by going straight upstairs. No bathroom fan. Shower door opened the wrong way. Key stopped working after first day.
