Review 1：even though the staff were wonderful and friendly they seemed to be forever watching and were a bit invasive of our privacy ie coming into room to service without knocking and when one of us was having a rest on the bed.clothed but a bit embarrassing

Review 6：n need of sleep for a business trip/work the next day, it was frustrating the walls in the room we were in were so thin. The women & child in the room next to us, kept us up for most of the night giggling & laughing constantly. Even after speaking to them, they had trouble keeping quiet, it was incredibly loud, like being in the same room as them, so we could not sleep, we also heard the traffic & trucks passing all night long, which I probably would not have been bothered by otherwise, had the other guests not kept us awake. I would be happy to pay $20 extra for the room we had, if there was photos/Art hanging on the concrete wall opposite the bed. (The art on the bedside wall was good) & perhaps a rug on the floor & some kind of insulation was put in over top of the wall - on the bed side. If I were the owners I would ask a builder if wooden panels with pink bats in between could be used? Something could probably be done. With practically no sleep & an important day the next day it was a shame I was too exhausted to share the driving on the trip back. I understand it is not the motel owners fault, but it was frustrating. I really should give the review a 1 or 2 - as It was a really unpleasant experience but this was because of the other guest. I will be careful next time when booking a motel to try & get something away from other guests or in a better position. I have not had this issue before though.
Review 7：Friendly owner greeted us when we arrived despite it being after 9pm which was nice & unexpected. Room as pictured, lovely wooden beams on ceiling & clean with a good kitchenette. I believe we may have got the last room or at least the last one showing on Booking.com, which was by the road end.

Review 11：Cleanliness, Older motel but renovated - no musty smells, bathroom modern with good shower. bed not too soft like some motels. The owner managers were helpful & had little complimentary extras like biscuits, plunger coffee as well as a plenty of tea , coffee & chocolate sachets. Electric blanket & heater.Location is good.

Review 21：Separate toilet on its own and relocated to before shower would be ideal because had to wait for awhile to shower cos of the number people in our party or wait for the toilet smell to empty out. An extra TV in one of the bedrooms Lounge cluttered co with extra bedding. Being at the end of the driveway is tricky if you're wanting to drive out of there.

Upon entering the room we were very impressed, fully equipped kitchen, classy dining table, outdoor furniture, great beds and handy appliances like fans and extension cords. Very comfortable and clean.

Review 28：The staff took an interest in your journey plans and suggested areas of interest and eating places in Whakatane. Very pleased that the breakfast included streaky bacon, superior to other types of bacon that some other motels have. We will stay there again whenever we need an overnight stay in Whakatane.

Review 37：The manager's assumption that because we came from Auckland we would not mind the traffic noise. I found the comment patronising and offensive. And the traffic noise kept me awake much of the night Also although the website said that charges may apply if travelling with a dog there was no MAY about it and $20 seemed excessive especially as we had brought the dogs bedding with us.

Review 41：The management were incredibly helpful. Responded quickly to queries. Had the room ready with lights and heaters on for arrival. The location was 2 minutes from everywhere you needed to be in Whakatane. Room and all ammenities immaculate - you could see yourself in the kitchen sink!
