Review 5：Everything. The room was dirty, beds were smelling. So many beach boys starring at guests when chilling around the pool. Food was average. I think this hotel is under staffed and it can't give a good service when it's crowded.

Review 7：Hotel is quite expensive and they rate it as 5 star hotel. UNFORTUNATELY I broke my leg and hotel provided with very,very poor wheelchair which is not acceptable. After complaint we got a new one for 1 day, we asked if we can take it for excursions then we will return and hotel did provide only with old one which was in unacceptable condition. some staff was very helpful however we experienced some delays with doctor and other requests.

Review 8：The hotel has an amazing view, and it is the best in this area.however we had more fun outside the hotel with local people,in hotel was a bit boring.

Review 9：The staff were slow, rude at times and a poor level of english to communicate especially in the ICE bar area. The staff at the poolside were over friendly interrupting you at the sun lounger and continuously asking where we were from and hinting they wanted a tip. The beach area is not private. When we arrived on New Years day the locals were peering over the fence drunk with whiskey bottles flailing in their hands at the patrons at the poolside. Security cannot move them on as it is a public beach. Not appropriate for children.

Review 11：The wifi was terrible. Stayed at this property for 3 days and it was literally like no internet connectivity. Secondly, the location. Although its by the beach, reaching this place was literally a pain. It's better to go to Bentota Beach Hotel by Cinnamon instead. Thirdly, the TV. Although they had channels, the remote controls in both our rooms were ancient and weren't working. Finally and most importantly, the available options in food. Theres restaurants had such a small menu. On the third day, we ended up going to another hotel to have a different meal.

In one day we kept the hand bag on the bed and went for breakfast and when we came back to the room after 40 minutes we found ants on the bed sheet and on the hand bags. Also near the kettle there were plenty of ants. We had informed the housekeeping staff to take more measures in cleaning the rooms and the ants situation but it had increased after that.

Review 24：To be very honest, we did not enjoy our stay at all - for the amount of money we payed it was awful! The staff barley spoke any english, the service was extremely poor and very slow. The room was horrific mosquito's everywhere, dirty bedding dirty towels. Overall it was not a great experience and we will not to returning.

The house keeper was unhappy tohelp us throw the dust even we gave him hundreds tips, cus too little?N the smile of the bare fo glasses-man was terrible.

Review 55：There is almost no activities do do on a rainy day. They should probably include some table tennis and a proper indoor games area. Also there were no activities for kids apart from the kids pool which was located away from the main pool. Dining was not up to the usual cinnamon standards. Welcome was lack luster. Nobody accompanied us to the room when we checked in.

Review 77：If you are keen on beaches there might be other options. The sand is quite hard and rough. If you walk around the beach area you might see the not so pretty effects of consumption. Tip just stay within hotel grounds.

Review 79：I would have hated to be in a ground floor room near the reception/restaurant area (we were not). In general, while we had a good stay and everything was equipped as promised I found some of the furniture/walls a bit shabby for a 5* (but then I noticed that in Sri Lanka in other places too). I guess the humidity makes it difficult to maintain the new/clean look. The beach in front of the hotel is not nice, walk south for a few hundred meters and the sand is much whiter.

Review 80：Big resort with the biggest pool ever but really didn't feel full (even though it was) bcs many people are package tourists and were out in the buses all day and ate the buffet food (buffet was not good) which was fantastic for us as we had the pool and lawns to ourselves and enjoyed wonderful meals in the a la carte restaurants and room service, all excellent and good value. Seaviews and balcony with bathtub, table and sunbed great. Staff were very efficient.

Review 81：Cons: - For a hotel only a year and half old, the rooms didn't match the modern and clean communal areas. It had a damp smell and was fairly cramped for space. - the only bad food experience was at the I.C.E bar. The mozarella sticks were cold and uncooked. However, the calamari was delicious.

Review 85：We stayed at Cinnamon Bey, Bentota, Sri Lanka in February 2015. The place is amazingly luxurious and is definitely better than the pictures they show online. The property is beautiful and is right on the beach. The beach is clean. The pool, the spa, the rooftop Arabic restaurant all are very very good. A special mention of the Guest Relations Lady Ms. Rokshi, Mr. Samarweera who was our pleasant and helpful server at the restaurant, to the pastry chef who customized his dishes for our vegetarian preference and especially to the Manager Mr. Kosala who not only helped us with some problem with our room but also gave us a much better room after relalizing that our concerns were genuine and also delighted us with a special vegetarian dinner ! We would definitely stay here should we visit again and would strongly recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay in Bentota !

Especially the Internet is way too slow for western standards, if you have to do stuff for work there is no way you could manage with their internet connection there. But that seems to be a general problem in Sri Lanka. We didn't have a decent connection in 3 weeks.

The worst thing was that a member of the buffet breakfast was particularly rude and neglectful, which we noticed every morning during the five days we stayed at Cinnamon Bey. His name was Ruwan. Went to reception, asking to see the duty manager,waited for 15 mins then told that they're too busy. They should change the buffet breakfast menu just like the dinner, which would improve things.

Review 101：Disabled toilet in lobby had no toilet paper, no soap and no grab rail. Grab rail too far away from shower in disabled room. Hand shower could not be hung up so it was impossible for a disabled person to hold the grab rail and wash under the shower. Garden not wheelchair friendly. No handrail for entry into pool, so it is impossible for a disabled person to use it unaided. The other pool entry point was barricaded off with with barrier tape.

Review 104：Bad check in took long time.you feel that they just want to get money from you as much as they can. Booking price was about 700$, and I paid 1078$ just at the check in and for 2 nights only. They charged my child 30$ per night and 120$ for a MANDATORY Gala dinner!!! Even if my child will not attend it. Next day I went again to the reception asking how much usually tge Charge for Gala dinner. They refused answer me, insisting to know my room No. When I refused to give my room No. They finally said that they don't have fixed price for Gala Dinner and it's up to there boss!!! I felt that I had been cheated.

Review 111：Staff were amazing, always very attentive to our needs. We upgraded our bed and breakfast to a full board which included lunch and dinner but no beverages. We are not big drinkers so bought our drinks on the side which were very cheap. I would not recommend fill board though, next time I would go for half board as we felt inclined to stay in hotel during day because we bought lunch there. Always we were just eating it for the sake of eating not because we were hungry because breakfast was great. Pool is amazing and the area itself is well kept. Lots of grass space for children to play. The beach has a coral reef on one side so is protected from waves so good for children as well.

Review 112：It took exceptionally long time for checking in, they start to prepare rooms once you arrive at the property, which is completely out of my understanding, the guest comes all the way from Colombo airport which is two hours drive traveling whole night in some cases and they make them wait for two to three hours for checking them in ?? Almost spoil our holiday.
