Review 1：Initially allocated wrong room, did not receive complementary bottle of prosecco that we should have received on Superior room booking. Locked out of hotel one night when returning at 12:15 had to knock and wait at doors. Messy building works in hotel lobby at night and noisy building works outside below our window early one morning ... waking us and keeping us awake. Only one thin pillow each, dated, worn furnishings. Bath plug would not go properly down so couldn't get a proper bath.

Review 2：Breakfast, reception/concierge were not helpful at all when we asked them to reserve for a top restaurant before New Year's Day, then before midnight 31 we had to research restaurants and when we told them to book they said these are the best restaurants you should've booked earlier. The bellman was rude when asked him if they have a double bed instead of two singles beds stuck together he just turned away and left. Maybe it was because they were stuck at work for New Year's Eve !! Who knows :)

Review 4：Breakfast way to expensive for what has been served, no scrambled eggs or ham or fresh fruit salad etc. Rooms get really cold, heating with air conditioner unit didn't work well our luck that outside temps weren't too cold over Christmas 2015.

Review 13：The Hotel Kette, is absolutely perfect! On a narrow canal with lots of gondolas going by... some even sing! The area is great, a couple of blocks from LA Fenice opera house, lots of restaurants and literally 5 mins. from San Marco. We actually made our way in from the airport by water bus and walked. I was stressed about finding the hotel, but had an idea, which was supported by an old guy painting nearby . Found it without problems! Thank you for nailing this down early... it's very good!

Review 16：Was not that impressed with their breakfast and felt the breakfast area was quite small. Which I found odd since there were large and lovely other rooms off the lobby.

Review 17：we really loved the location. so close to San Marco piazza but far enough away to avoid the daytime crowds. It was a charming area with lovely shops and restaurants. we had a large well appointed room. Also their exchange rate was spot on which we did not find in other hotels. Not a far walk from the public water bus and also Alingua which takes you to the port. They also have their own dock however if you can walk it is just as convenient to take the public water bus to the port. The private water taxi does not take you any closer to your ship.

Review 18：This was our fourth stay at Kette. Our room 324 was perfect..spacious and the windows viewed a canal. Excellent staff. Superb location.....quiet but quite close to St Marks Square.

Review 19：Smelled old and very mouldy. They used spray to cover which made it worse. Carpets threadbare. Beds like cardboard. Blankets pilled. I do not understand where the good reviews came from. Location to San Marco was good.

Review 28：Hotel Kette is a nice clean hotel near St Marks Square. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. Rooms are good size and the bathroom is large for Venice.

Review 29：The air conditioner was very noisy, intermittently sounding on and off.... all night. We were able to modify this a little on our second night.

Review 30：The room was quite large and comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a view outside our window of the canal below. In the morning we were woken to the delightful sounds of the singers entertaining the gondola passengers. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The included taxi and tour to Murano was a bonus.

Review 35：Room was very poor, first room smelt of stale cigarette smoke and the room I stayed in smelt of damp. The bed was uncomfortable, pillows were flat. Breakfast was chaotic, tinned fruit, dried bread, processed cheese, sugary cereals! Wifi signal was very poor. This is not what I expect from what is supposed to be a 4* hotel.

Review 38：My only small complaint, I would have liked a kettle and tea making facilities in my room, also a decent hairdryer. The hairdryer attached to the wall in the bathroom can dry your hair but no lady could style her hair with it.

Review 45：I am an experienced traveler, including to places such as Asia and Africa. I know about bed bugs, their symptoms, and so forth. The rooms at Hotel Kette "look" clean, but in fact the sheets, blankets, and especially bedspread do not seem to be changed often enough. After 1 night I noticed some red bites and itching but thought this might be mosquitoes because of Venice being near the water. During the 2nd night, the itching was so bed that it woke me up. I was bitten all over --- back of neck, arms, hands, upper thighs. It was a cold night, and I had used extra blankets from inside the closet. Prior to my arrive at Hotel Kette, the staff answered my inquiries about their location, nearest train station, etc. However, I am trying to get a small reimbursement for medication which I had to buy to treat the bed bug bites, and the hotel doesn't have the courtesy to respond to any of my emails. This is absolutely unacceptable! I had redness and itching from the bed bug bites during and after my time at Hotel Kette. Also, the "double bed" was 2 single beds pushed together, and you can really feel that middle space. Mattresses felt like cardboard boxes that had been filled with books and then covered with a blanket. At the breakfast, the "milk" that is served with the coffee and tea tastes like powdered milk with water added to it. The Wi-Fi is not at all reliable if you are in the room; only works consistently if you go downstairs to the lobby (which I'm sure people really enjoy doing at midnight, in their pajamas.) Furthermore, what is considered to be a room with a "canal view" actually means that when you look out the window, you see another building. The canal "view" is a few stories below, looking down. Sorry, but based on all this and the way my emails have been ignored, no, I cannot recommend this place.

Review 50：A 4 star hotel, really? But we knew what to expect as we've been to four stars hotels in Italy before. We've booked superior double room just in case. Anyway, don't expect an extra comfort nor anything special about this hotel. An average breakfast, limited choice of food/beverages, not even an Italian espresso to get. Worn out decor, the bedding should be definitely replaced (especially washed out gray blankets!). When we asked for Wi-Fi username and passwd via the phone, we were told to come down at the reception desk.

Review 54：The street in front of the hotel floods during high tide so it is not possible to leave or arrive without boots and luggage has to be carried for about 20 metres. There was no information folder in the room and not even note paper was provided. The decoration of the room was a bit heavy and dated. The breakfast room is a tight fit but this is Venice and the building is very old.
