Reviews for Turówka Hotel & Spa
Review 1:Sauna is not located in the pool area
Review 2:Excellent buikding, surroundings, atmosphere, staff, restaurant - we would stay a week here if we can! Fantastic pearl next to Kracow! Italian football fans specially will enjoy this hotel - it was an official team hotel for Eurocup 2012. Lot of souveniers there.
Review 3:Na
Review 4:Reception, spa, restaurant and breakfast. Very silent, soundproof room. We also had some misunderstanding with reservation, which they perfectly sorted out and we were happy with the solution.
Review 5:The extremely rude and bad mannered barman would be the reason for us not to stay at the hotel again. We would return to the hotel in the evening after full days sight seeing to relax in the bar before turning in only to have him switch off the lights at precisely 11 pm, even while we were still sitting there, we were two couples in our 50s/60s, sensible, professional people,, not drunk or making a noise, only wanting to unwind after a busy day, even the evening of the long power cut he rudely refused to let us have a beer to wait on the power re starting before we could go upstairs to our room. This is the only hotel out of hundreds we have stayed in that we have basically been sent to bed for 11 pm. Not good. Our stay/ holiday would have been so much better if we were at least able to stay up till midnight.
Review 6:Breakfast was good, most of the staff were very nice, lovely large warm room with tea making facilities. Very close to the train station.
Review 7:The smell in the bathroom coming from the kitchen below!!! Not in the room fortunately enough! Just amazing considering such a hotel...our room was 111, just to let you know!
Review 8:Very nice place, well located, excellent breakfast
Review 9:Sauna extra charge
Review 10:Restaurant excellent.amazing food for price.lovely cosy bar with pool table-free to use! Close to salt mine. Good pool.helpful staff.
Review 11:Bill automatically paid in Sterling as opposed to Zloty. So hotel's exchange rate used. We protested as almost always better to pay in local currency, but unable change. Member of staff said they would advise mamager and contact us. No contact made. Suggest you discuss at check-in if want to hse local currency.
Review 12:Room comfortable, spa excellent, breakfast excellent.
Review 13:Bathroom requires some refreshing touches, low end and v/limited offer of cosmetics in the Bath
Review 14:Conveniently located (neighbouring rail station is a pro and the con at the same time), opposite to Wieliczka salt mine, Tasty breakfasts, good restaurant with local specialities, Nice spa w/t a pool and jacuzzi
Review 15:Hotel has great amenities and is just a short walk from the salt mine entrAnces. There is new tram line that runs to Kraków -- if I'd know it was there we would have stayed at least one more night.
Review 16:Extra paymant for sauna. Cold wather in swiming pool and also it is bit small. Would be good to have coffe in the room
Review 17:Good Localization. Excelt choice of breakfest.
Review 18:for me - but that's my personal opinion - mattress is to soft - I prefer the hardest ones ;))
Review 19:As always highly qualified staff and best possible service !! Food absolutly delicious as always ;)
Review 20:Air condition didnt work nearly at all. Noicy air condition/ventilation. Wifi didnt work in the room. Very bad beds for children in the superior family room - as camping beds, not OK for a four star hotel. Problems in air condition and wifi reach seems to be connected with rooms on second floor towards the garden. We had room 210.
Review 21:Nice ambient. Nice pool. Good breakfast. Service minded personell that solved our initial problems with the room. Good accomondation IF you samt to visit Wieliczka salt mine.
Review 22:Just nothing. Oh, the waitress in the restaurant could be nicer.
Review 23:Excellent breakfast, spacious room, great restaurant. Location is perfect- walk distance from the salt mine. All activities were included (swimming-pool and Billiards). Helpful staff who is willing to help. Feels like a boutique hotel. If we'll be back to the area, we will of visit again without a shadow of a doubt!
Review 24:Breakfast was very good, only not really Europian. There were no croissants or anything. Only a bit of bread and Baguette. The staf: Over all I miss the typical commercial attitude. I've never passed the reception before without hearing: 'Have a good day' or 'Goodmorning'. They also could've gave more information at the checkin about the spa or Krakow....
Review 25:Ofcourse it was very cheap for luxury you get. The room was fantastic! The english of the receptionists were ok and that is rather exceptional in Poland...
Review 26:Lovely, spacious rooms with very friendly staff. The spa is great; the massage treatment I had was very relaxing and the pool was great too. I hadn't heard of it ever seen a "salt grotto" so was pleasantly surprised by that. I found the breakfast to be a highlight of my stay and the restaurant/bar served great lunches and dinners.
Review 27:Excellent food, good service, large, comfortable room. Hotel is clean with quite good facilities (quite good SPA center). Perfect place for a family or business meeting, small conference etc. Stable and fast WiFi internet. Worth co consider as a cheap alternative to quite expensive hotels located in Kraków (if you don't need to go out for a party all night).
Review 28:Convenient location. Short walk to the salt mine and Wieliczka Park train station. 20 min away (by train) from Krakow old town. Kids especially enjoyed hotel swimming pool. Awesome breakfast.
Review 29:Coffee very bad ! Couldn't drink it ! Doesn't worth a penny ! The only thing that this hotel needs is definitely a good coffee machine! And the receptionists could be a little more nicely.
Review 30:Cleaning, Pool and Jacuzzi, Very comfortable bed, Very good breakfast, Location. Quality-Price ratio - very good.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:We started our holiday at Turowka so we could enjoy some spa treatments and visit the Salt Mines before heading to Kraków. It was fantastic to get off the plane and enjoy the spa. The spa was excernt at organising treatments prior to our trip and the facilities were to a very high standard. Our hotel room was very large with a balcony. The bed was incredibly comfortable with nice linens and we had a restful night. The next day I headed to the salt mines whilst my other half enjoyed a masaage. The salt mines were well worth the visit and within a short walk from the hotel. I got there early and would high recommend an early start as the lines were long when I emerged again. We were impressed with the food at the restaurant in the hotel, particularly the buffet at breakfast. It covered several tables with lovely meats, cheeses, cereals, bread just out of the oven etc. We had two meals at the hotel and both were excellent. The sea bream was very nice and the desserts are well presented. Portions are large, as we found in Poland. Overall this was an excellent start to a fabulous holiday. Starting at Turowka for a night ( or 2) is a great way to festered, eat well and visit the mines before heading into Kraków. Transport was 99 zoilty from the hotel back to Kraków and a bit more from the airport to the hotel on arrival. The value for money was in keeping with our entire experience on our trip. Our entire bill came to £289 for 3 spa treatments, 2 three course meals with drinks/coffee, room for one night and fab breakfast. That is incredible value as in London we could easily spend that on 2 spa treatment and drinks. Highly recommend starting Holliday this way at Turowka.
Review 33:Very convenient location (approximately 150 m. from Wieliczka Salt Mine; 100 m. from train station for traveling to Krakow). Rich breakfast menu. Sound-proof rooms, that appeared to be very clean. Very convenient bed and calmness made our stay very relaxing. Helpful staff. Many thanks!
Review 34:No currency change possibilities, makes it hard to buy train tickets the first time, also because the ticket machine crashed with foreign credit cards... We could not have a baby cot but just a low bed. Maybe there was no more, there were quite some children around. We asked for a large bed blanket that was not possible only individual blanket were available.
Review 35:The hotel is not central but very well connected to Krakow central station: you have a 5 minutes walk to the Wielizka station and there you have trains every 30 minutes for Krakow. You have a nice pool, a very good and not expensive restaurant with large opening hours (from 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm) child menu, children play table, and also come little outdoor playground. There are also face painting and films for children. Staff is friendly and helpful. Walking distance from the very interesting salt mines.
Review 36:A little disappointed with the swimming pool, Jacuzzi and spa. The spa treatment I asked for was not available and the Jacuzzi was supposed to be on from 8 to 10 p.m. and it wasn't.
Review 37:the location and the interior decoration: beautiful drapery and furniture
Review 38:Wifi wasnt working properly on second night/day of our stay, asked staff, said there is nothing they can do about it. Also room service food was not particularly pleasant, i.e. luke warm soup. have to pay additionally to use sauna and steam room
Review 39:Being one of the better hotels in the area i expected a little bit more. Spa facilites where ok, breakfast was excellent, large choice and fresh. free pool table (allthough not completely flat!) great location to the salt mines, its a 5 minute walk.
Review 40:No comment. :)
Review 41:An excellent hotel. We spent here 3 nights of our wedding anniversary trip. It was a wonderful choice which highly satisfied our expectations. Good location close to the city center and the city park, quality internal decorations and furnishing of the hotel as well as its rooms, professional staff. We have nothing to criticize and can only reccomend this hotel to everybody. The price was more than fair for what the hotel offers you. I reccomend also the restaurant - very tasteful and delicious food, spa with its professional massages, coffee bar which offers very good cappuccino. Our 4 years old daugher enjoyed the stay in this hotel, too.
Review 42:pair of socks left in bedroom from previous guest when we arrived. At breakfast, tables could have been laid better at least with a milk jug, cups and teaspoons.. not what you woud expect from a 4* hotel. Just seems to be missing the wow factor.
Review 43:Beautiful old building and lovely interior. Nice and quiet.
Review 44:Restaurant, the breakfast staff is very poor. the staff do not even greet the guests, they stay almost behind the walls. Evening service also does not reflect the hospitality- sorry to say that.
Review 45:nice location, friendly staff in the reception. Very helpful and friendly.
Review 46:AMAZING breakfast! Beautiful building, atmosphere, decoration. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Safe parking in front of the hotel. Spacey rooms, great decoration.
Review 47:Spa could be perfect place for resting after time spend in Salt mine. Unfortunatelly there were only three seats by the pool. Woud help the families to add more places to chill while kids want to play in the pool. There are no bathrobes in room (can be accepted) but hotel was out of bathrobes and towels in Spa area as well. This little issues can be improved by management and I wish to otherwise nice hotel that this will happen soon.
Review 48:Very nice hotel close to Salt mine. Staff at desk is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant offers interesting and tasty meals (trying more from menu...lamb with speenach very tasty as well as pork ribs). Freee parking and garden are very appreciated. Spa and swimming pool as well.
Review 49:Staff at the restaurant need improvement, it is not at 4 stars level. We had to bring a chair for our baby by ourselves, at the breakfast we were sitting surrounded by dirty plates.
Review 50:Very nice hotel, just few minutes walk away from the mine, big, pretty rooms, nice spa. Very helpful staff at the reception desk.
Review 51:Although the resteraunt served excellent food the atmosphere was a little boring however the rest made up for this.
Review 52:Room, swimmingpool, bar and very friendly staff especially the barman. Great location for visiting the salt mines and easy to find
Review 53:we spent 2 weeks at this hotel, breakfast was very good, good friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. The location is great for walking to the salt mine and other shopping areas. also easy to get around on public transit, buses and trains run close by and very often.
Review 54:Overrated hotel, more like a 3-star hotel. Breakfast not up to standards. Slow service. Staff unpolite. Swimming pool needs maintanance and to be cleaned from time to time!
Review 55:Quality of the entire hotel and professional staff. Comfortable and very quiet rooms. Access to a good quality indoor swimming pool.
Review 56:Amazing helpful staff!
Review 57:Salty food in restaurant.
Review 58:Poor indoor activities for kids.
Review 59:SPA, No.1 kitchen, great location close to the train stop
Review 60:Wi fi connection
Review 61:Staff cleanless position breakfast
Review 62:Close to the mine Cheap when we stayed, especially for the comfort and swimming pool Friendly staff Parking facility on site
Review 63:Close to saltmine situated hotel Very quiet area Good breakfast
Review 64:No shower gel in the shower.
Review 65:Excellent breakfast!
Review 66:sleeping accomodations, low ceilings, difficult parking
Review 67:location
Review 68:Wifi from inside the room (205) was not working, however on the ground floor it was OK.
Review 69:Location and service
Review 70:It's a little tired looking. The pool isn't as big as it appears on the photo
Review 71:The location was good
Review 72:airco in the room is somewhat difficult to handle
Review 73:comfortable room, nice swimming pool and great breakfast
Review 74:Basen
Review 75:The bathroom is not 100% perfect
Review 76:It's like a palace :)
Review 77:Spacious rooms, nice personal, stylish hotel, very comfortable with easy parking.
Review 78:Nice spa and garden
Review 79:Very nice. Fun fact: Italy's football national team was staying there during Euro 2012 and its scouts wouldn't accept anything subpar.
Review 80:Food Pool Comfortable room
Review 81:Great breakfast
Review 82:Everything was perfect. Close to the saltmine, 8-10 min walk. The breakfast was superb
Review 83:very close to Wieliczka and Crakow. friendly, professional staff. spacious room. swimming pool ans SPA excellent breakfast!
Review 84:I liked everything!!!!
Review 85:we booked the spa package the massage was poor but the interance to the salt mine worth it
Review 86:TOP of the TOP
Review 87:Close to railway, a lot of mosqitos, not too much to do around
Review 88:Nice hotel, friendly staff
Review 89:Excellent for a quiet weekend! Kid friendly which makes it some much easier on the parents. Easy access to Krakow city center if you have your own car.
Review 90:Small swimming pool.
Review 91:Great location, only 25 min by taxi to the city center in Cracow. Very nice design and very comportable. Very attractive price! 5 min. by walk to Wieliczka Salt Mine Unesco Heritage.
Review 92:Staff were not overly friendly. It seemed at breakfast, which was included, the 1st question was "what is your room number"? rather than, GOOD MORNING. Balcony on room was nice but no chairs. WiFi was very sporatic.
Review 93:Location was perfect and the pool/spa area was wonderful.
Review 94:One downside to the food - hot choices offered at breakfast were not really hot or kept hot, so coolled down rather fast affecting the taste (eggs and meat). Big issue during our stay - there was a wedding during our stay and we were the only hotel guests not attending the reception, due to poor planning we have not been allocated appropriate room (on one of the top floors where the noise would have been reduced) and there was a lot of hassle and confusion as staff members did not communicate with each other and were asking us (at one point telling us) we have to move rooms mid way through our stay... However, regards offered to the hotel manager, who upon finding out about the poorly handled situation offered a generous discount. Hopefully with a bit more training and supervision this will be a one-off incident. Nevertheless the hotel is great and I would recommend it.
Review 95:Breakfast choice was great. Fresh food of wide variety. Separately from the main restaurant there is a little snug bar staffed by an award winning bartender offering a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Hotel has a very nice pool, free for guests to use. Did not use any of the other spa facilities during our stay but these did look good. Few minutes walk from the Saltmine and yet secluded enough to avoid main tourist traffic. Hotel has a lovely garden and outdoor grill used for various occassions. It is also close to the nearby park and outdoor tennis courts. Good transport links with the City.
Review 96:Staff can't speak english, in a four star hotel? disappointing
Review 97:Delicious, fresh breakfast. Nice furnished hotel and rooms. Spa is also a big like. Water temperature is very good.
Review 98:we booked for A aromatotherapy massage, it was just good compare to what we have done before.
Review 99:big spacious rooms, excellent staff very helpfull, they let us stay until 3 in the afternoon, very good service of the bar/restaurant
Review 100:To really appreciate what hotel has to offer you would need more than 1 night. We were sorry we did not stay there for longer.
Review 101:Stylish, comfortable hotel with spacious rooms big enough for the family of 4 and really nice big bathroom. Beautiful swimming pool. Restaurant of top quality and exceptionally tasty food. Quick access to the new motor way and only 400m from Wieliczka Salt mine.
Review 102:Breakfast was inconsistent. Sometimes just warm eggs, sometimes no bacon, could be improved. Shouldn't have to ask for coffee.
Review 103:Design and presentation is top notch. Vicinity to the salt mine is excellent, and also to Wieliczka Park station from where it's 20 minutes to Krakow Centre by train. It has a large car park also, so you save on parking and hassle.
Review 104:Good R&R facilities (spa, swimming pool, jacuzzi), restaurant menu, which makes you not want to eat outside, very friendly personnel. Walking distance to the famous Wieliczka's salt mine, 20 min car ride to the Cracow's Old Town.
Review 105:During breakfast at about 9 a lot of tables where not cleaned up
Review 106:Great localization, comfortable, seems that it is right after renovation; great breakfast (lots of choices); good value of money; a place where Italian soccer team were staying during EURO 2012
Review 107:We were disappointed by our evening meal in the hotel restaurant - the food was distinctly average and the restaurant lacks ambiance.
Review 108:The location of the hotel is excellent if you are planning a visit to the salt mine. Our room was very nice, and we also used the hotel swimming pool which was great to unwind in.
Review 109:More international TV channels (Especially in English) would make this Hotel perfect.
Review 110:The staff were very polite, efficient and ready to help! In one word amazing! The room was great, clean and quite. Restaurant and breakfast provided first class food and service ( Home-made pierogi are an absolute must!)
Review 111:Very nice hotel, excellent quailty building materials and feel. Superb breakfast, fast and free internet. Jacuzzi and pool free of charge usable, turkish bath and sauna are for fee. But when we're there the sauna was out of service so they let us use the turkish bath for free! Excellent value for money!
Review 112:The service was tip top! Rooms clean and spacious! And the mattress was the best I've ever slept on! Food was lovely and the spa very relaxing! Close to the salt mine, and the bus to krakow stops right outside, and the train station is 2 mins down the rd. Can't fault the hotel would recommend x
Review 113:No indoor activity for children.
Review 114:Nice helpfull staff, location is good (close to Wieliczka mine) but not fully ideal for Krakow (still 30 min drive or train). Close to station. Swimming pool is very nice, and outdoor children playground as well.
Review 115:lounge bar closed early (anywhere between 11pm and 11.45pm across 4 consecutive nights) although the hotel was 75% occupied. unable to purchase any kind of bar snacks, not even a bag of crisps or nuts. Bar would also benefit from a log fire or something cheery such as candlelights and easy listening background music instead of just the tv balring away for benefit of barman only, for winter nights as an otherwise comfortable sitting area appears very basic and lacking in ambience.
Review 116:prime location 5 minutes walk to Salt mines and town centre. Very clean, with a small but excellent spa and pool. All staff encountered were professional, polite and efficient... sometimes lacking in smiles (lounge barman particularly a bit miserable) but overall the service was prompt and represented excellent 4 or 5 star standards compared to the price we paid (family room for 4@ £70 per night with breakfast).
Review 117:Excellent hotel, ideally located (400 meters) from Wielicka salt mine.Great service, excellent food (original, tasty, nice presentation), allfor a reasonable price. The Spa is very nice (swimming pool, jaccuzi,sauna,...) and free access for guests. This hotel is an excellent optionto have some relax after Cracow visit.
Review 118:When there were few guests, breakfast was served at the table. Then it was difficult to communicate (the staff did not speak sufficient english) and get what we liked the most.
Review 119:Nice old building and interior. Excellent food.
Review 120:Good place for Family staying. We are very exited about our time withkids in Turowka. Great place, great location, good hotel staff. We arethinking about possibility stay one more time and strongly recommendedthat Hotel to our friends.
