Reviews for Hotel Wieniawa
Review 1:We wanted a room for non-smoking but get one where other guests were smoking some time ago. The stench was everywhere. Even in the reception. Moreover a couch, a chair and a carpet in the room were so dirty that we placed towels to sit on a couch and a chair and have folded the carpet. Awful! Definitely not recommending this place.
Review 2:The bed was very uncomfortable. Walls, curtains and drapes were dirty. The smell in the room was unpleasant.
Review 3:People working in the reception were nice and helpful.
Review 4:I'm afraid you can't call yourself a hotel if you don't provide wifi. It's about as acceptable as not having doors on the rooms. It's 2015, just ring up and get damn wifi!
Review 5:Clean and tidy, excellent shower, very efficient staff. Narrow bed.
Review 6:The room we got needs to be refurbished. We've seen other rooms in the hotel that looked nice and in the good standard but they were not offered through booking.com. Booking you need to improve.
Review 7:There was no Wifi! we took this hotel just because of location AND Wifi. if they don't have Wifi between 14.9. and 18.9. they should publicize it on a homepage! there are also no refrigerators in the rooms.
Review 8:Unfortunately the doors are old and it means that every time someone opens the door in the corridor, one can hear it slamming. Also the room hasn't been aired before entering, so it didn't feel too fresh when going inside. The hotel itself has a bit of a 'communist' feel to it. It's ok generally but definitely not worth as much as I paid (140).
Review 9:The bed was ok, bathroom was clean. The lobby is nice.
Review 10:Hotel is locate near to main road and was very noisy during the nights. The furniture and carpets are very old fashion looks like they are still from 80's.There was no air condition in the hotel rooms(during the summer time was a bit complicated).outside of the hotel is just few free park space.
Review 11:Location of the hotel quite close to the city center
Review 12:The room was cleaned well, but in need of renovation (new wall paper and floor and painting).
Review 13:Personal quite good in english and seems friendly. Bathroom was clean and seems fairly newly renovated. The beds was soft and may be the most comfortable i´v had at a hotel outside Sweden.
Review 16:WI-FI inside the Room was almost not existing. To get a reception i needed to go out of the Room. The room was not cleaned during my entire five-day-stay. I just got new Shampoo daily.
Review 17:The price/performance ratio was OK.
Review 18:Room needs a renovation and change of some furniture. There is no wireless tea kettle.
Review 19:Stay for 4 days. Room clean, relatively quiet, staff very pleasant.
Review 20:Okay, so I've never done a review for anything in my entire life! But I felt like I needed to do one for this hotel because of how weird and awkward my experience was.First off, the oy kind of water they offered was sparkling water. No mineral water at all, no matter how much I asked. So I had to go to the store and by my own water.Next came my issue with housekeeping. It was so weird. They would only come in to change the towels in my bathroom, but they NEVER cleaned my room. Thank God I'm a clean person, and I like to clean after myself anyways. But I kept going down to reception to ask if I was just confused and housekeeping wasn't a service they offered? But they never understood me. Nor was there ever any cleaning supplies so I could at least clean myself. So every day I would go to reception and tell them to have housekeeping to clean my room. And even when I did, they still would never clean it properly. One day I got fed up and stood over the lady and basically showed her one by one everything that I needed cleaned. It was a horrible experience, one I will not be repeating again. Then comes the food issue. Breakfast is not included, but there is a Resturaunt downstairs by reception, which you have to pay for. I tried it out one day. It was not worth it at all. There wasn't really much to chose from, and even less options for a vegetarian. Again they barely spoke English. And then I had the worst experience ever.Sunday I expected a lot of things to be closed, but I also expected there to be at least a few Resturaunts to be open. Because it was Easter, NOTHING was open. In the ENTIRE city, including the hotel. I basically went to a movie theater that was open to grab some snacks otherwise I would've starved that day. Can u imagine? Being in a hotel with nothing to eat!And last safety. I was a girl traveling by herself, and although I didn't encounter any safety issues in particular, the hotel was so quiet.
Review 21:The staff was nice enough. Even though most of them barely spoke any English. The bathrooms were nice, but the rooms had old peeling wallpaper and the room was super dusty. Also, the bed sheets looked yellow and old. Very gross to sleep on.
Review 22:Sound-proofness of the room, location is relatively faraway from the center
Review 23:This is an amazing value for the money we paid. If you can live with the old-fashioned soviet-style furniture, you should have nothing else to complain.
Review 24:Had to alert the staff to two fire extinguishers which had been discharged. These had been re hung afterwards.
Review 25:Breakfast. Always nice here. Staff sorting out noisy children
Review 26:Floor was under construction, there was smell of paint everywhere. Room was dirty and stinky, bed sheet does not look like a fresh one. In general a big disappointment. This is budget hotel and the only thing that is required is a clean room and comfotable bed. Non of these were provided. I am visiting Wroclaw in two weeks time and i will definitely look for a different place to stay, even for more money
Review 27:Location-very close to city center
Review 28:No hairdresser in the bathroom, no electric kettle. We were primarly offered an untidy room. After a complaint, the room was changed.
Review 29:Fine location, good value for money, very comfortable mattresses.
Review 30:- WiFi not reliable - poor TV - the heating not very efficient (mid Nov) - windows with poor heat/wind insulation (and dirty)
Review 31:- room size - price - bathroom
Review 32:Electrics were a bit ropey. Main lights in bedroom flickering on and off. If I'd stayed there more than a night I'd have brought it to their attention. I just turned off the lights.
Review 33:Didn't see much of the hotel to be fair. Breakfast was outstanding for the cost. Staff were pleasant. Slept well in the bed. What more can you ask for when you're in the city for less than 12 hours.
Review 34:***deco in need of attention*** cracks in walls, peeling of shower sealings and wallpaper and gaps in insulations between walls and windows
Review 35:the girls from reception and restaurant always extremaly helpful and very polite, and always with smile
Review 36:Although further away from the city centre than other hotels, getting to and going from the hotel is easy due to a tram stop nearby Room was clean and eveything worked well Wifi connection was good, although slow at times, but worked well for basic applications
Review 37:I asked for water with no gas, but this was not possible for some reason. I was staying six nights, and I was mystified as to why I had to buy my own water the whole time. All that was supplied to the room was water with gas. They cost the hotel the same, don't they? Also, the hotel is far from the center, requiring a tram ride there and back. Some would walk, I'm sure, but I think it would be about a 25 minutes walk. Ask for a room facing the side street. The hotel is on a very busy street. If you are staying there and want the tram, come out of the hotel and turn left. The tram is one block away. I did not appreciate the staff member who told me to turn right, then right at the corner. This required a four block walk to the tram, which did not get that close to the center anyway. Not a nice thing to tell a guest on her first day.
Review 38:A very comfortable room, great hot water, strong wifi, a lift, mostly nice sraff members, and a pretty good breakfast for 18 pln. It was nice to have a restaurant for dinner on the site, because there are none in the neighborhood.
Review 39:The curtains did not fit the window at all! Unbelievable! About half the window was uncovered to when the lights were on people could see in and the morning light woke me up. Wifi only 1mb/s and unsecured. Old furniture (photos make it look good). It feels like a motel rather than a hotel. The bed was small but ok.
Review 40:Only £15 per night Wifi The ensuite was very nice and modern Bed sheets clean
Review 41:They charge your card in your currency (instead of Zloty) without your consent, which will result in unfavourable exchange rates. Some staff don't speak English. The room was too hot during summer.
Review 42:Cheap, clean, close to city centre.
Review 43:The sheets and towels smelled horrible. The bed sheets smelled likesweat. The towels smelled like cigarettes and food. The towels had darkstains on them. I have never been to a hotel who cared so little aboutthe presentation. All the furniture (even the painting hanging in theroom) has stickers and writing on them. Seems like codes for them tokeep track of this stuff. They should worry more about their filthylinens. We had just got back from a lovely stay in Greece and had towalk into this nightmare. The rooms are extremely old fashioned. Thecarpet is dirty. There is paint and wood chipping off the side of thedoorway. The hallways stunk of cigarette smell. They obviously have noconsideration for non-smoking guests. The staff isn't friendly andaccommodating at all. They act like they're doing you an enormousfavor by answering your question. They have no concept of customerservice. They act like it's a luxury hotel but if you're at allused to standards in American and uk hotels, you will not get them here.I was really hoping it would be nice here and I was just sodisappointed.
Review 44:The mattress is comfortable and the bathrooms are nice. That's all Ican say about positives.
Review 45:WiFi is supposed to be free.Indeed there is an unsecured network available, but I couldn't connect to it.Maybe my laptop just had a prob. However, I was there to be out with friends - not to be online.Hence I didn't try any further. This is just for the records.
Review 46:I had a budget single room.Got what I expected.Everything according to my needs, bathroom was clean.Everything is a bit old fashioned as per description of other users here, but that was okay for me.I didn't choose the breakfast option so I can't tell about it.I consider the room rate as very reasonable. If you just need a bed and a private bathroom - I can recommend it.Tram station around the corner.Taxi from Rynek back to the hotel (night fare) was around 22 Zloty.I'll book them again.
Review 47:Everything about the hotel was more than expected and very clean(although could do with decor updating). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be going there again next year.
Review 48:Standard of the hotel is poor. Standard of decoration is very, very poor - in needs of urgent up=grading. *Bed: v. un-comfortable, *Bathroom: shower rail hanging of the wall (no fixings). Some signs of fungal mould on the walls. *Timber floor: squeaking... * Wall-paper: dirty, torn in places & just about to fall of the wall (urgent need of repairs) Sorry for bad comments but... untill there is some improvement I would not recommend to anyone.
Review 49:Cheap (value for money)
Review 50:Very clean room, comfortable beds, TV, very good service. We got more than we expected!
Review 51:The room was dirty. I did not have access to Internet. Lack of TV channel. The discount has not been included in the bill.
Review 52:No electrical kettle at room
Review 53:Lokation
Review 54:rooms are old and not clean
Review 55:bad Wi-Fi
Review 56:25 minutes walk from the Wroclaw Hlowny railway station. The bed was ok. The bathroom was clean.
Review 57:No changing of towels. No cleaner. No telephone that worked in room. No englush tv programmes.
Review 58:Location and nice view from the window
Review 59:Some of the rooms might be quite noisy/loud (lower floors with windows facing the street)
Review 60:Value for money. Stuff. Location. Cosy atmosphere.
Review 61:windows in room
Review 62:Too expensive for what it offers
Review 63:Staff nice place clean
Review 64:Swietna lokalizacja i cena, Babcia Stenia byla bardzo zadowolona :). Pozdrawiamy wszystkie podrozujace Babcie swiata.
Review 65:Wi-fi signal on the fifth floor is poor.
Review 66:Most of all, I liked location and breakfast.
Review 67:freezer is absent. noisy.
Review 68:good option for budget one night stop.
Review 69:- personnel is loud from the very morning - poor quality night bar, they don't accept credit cards
Review 70:Localisation could be worse
Review 71:The staff the spacious rooms the location staff are friendly great location
Review 72:place, room, clean, good personal
Review 73:No complaints on this hotel
Review 74:This is a nice and clean hotel. The staff is very friendly. I will use this hotel again
Review 75:it looks old and shabby from the inside. a bit far from city center
Review 76:the staff was nice and helpful, rooms were big and clean
Review 77:Bathroom, room OK
Review 78:There were no blinds

Review 95:Nothing
Review 96:Everything
Review 97:Poor quality of mattress.
Review 98:Quiet location, nice bathroom.
Review 99:The only drawback was the lack of proper curatins in my room
Review 100:- old furniture
Review 101:- bathroom
Review 102:Very old furniture and painting in economy rooms.
Review 103:Super fast check in late in night, new equipped bathroom.
Review 104:zastaralé zařízení hluk z ulice
Review 105:blízko centra města wifi na pokoji
Review 106:Food room and small too soft bed
Review 107:Bathroom
Review 108:bar facilities only fair, staff could have been friendlier, food only average
Review 109:very reasonable, clean enough
Review 110:The room was facing the main street and was a bit noisy even with the windows closed
Review 111:Really good value for the money Big room
Review 112:A 15 minute walk to the city center.
Review 113:The room was good value for money.
Review 114:Not enough curtain to prevent the morning light waking me early.
Review 115:Easy to get to and from the town centre (Rynek) by tram, bus and night bus with stops close by. Good free internet and reception printed my boarding pass. Two elevators meant no waiting. Free bottled water provided every day. 06-2300 Zabka shop in same street.
Review 116:Hotel system for managing reservations (change of reservation) and paying is complicate and takes long time to staff able solve their own problem. I was missing air-con (very hot days). Only 1 electric socket near table. Car parking area is not secured anyhow (i.e.by camera). Breakfast was very average. Hotel generally is quite old and its visible everywhere.
Review 117:Room was quite big, big table, staff at reception was helpful, good location - not far from city centre but don't meet to much traffic jam when go outside of city. No problem to find place to park and it was very close.
Review 118:The hotel is old, in need of a total renewal. So far only the elevators, the bathrooms and a part of the furniture is renewed. I am sorry to say that the new furniture, too, does not answer to my taste. Wall paper is torn at places, the whole hotel has an atmosphere of the 1970s.
Review 119:The staff were friendly and helpful. Beds and bathrooms were good and clean. Lots of space in the rooms.
Review 120:Unconfortable bed,no card key and in the room located to east side inthe morning there is too light because tent window is too short.
Review 121:Old style hotel,25 min walking to city, located behind on the rightcommercial center Sky Tower, tram 6 and 7, 5 min walking get tocenter. Large room, clean and good wifi connection.Possibility to eatin your restaurant, good report quality/price(only 18 euro nightin early booking).
Review 122:I ordered a twin room on the 9 floor for the view of the city. We got aroom with one marital bed (we are not married!) on the 4th floor - viewon the trees. The bed was the most uncomfortable, I've ever slepton. It had a wooden plank in the middle and the mattress was screwed onto that plank! I have a picture to prove it!
Review 123:Very friendly staff, spacious room, clean.
Review 124:DON'T TAKE THIS HOTEL IF YOU LIKE ORDER AND CLEAN ROOMS OR IF YOU NEED WORKING ELECTRICITY CONTACTS (like us for our baby's bottle warmer)! This"hotel" is a communist nightmare. Rooms are just dirty and disgusting! The furnitures are from 80s and placed in a stupid way just to hide the dirty wall with holes! wallpaper in the room is just dirty and not changed since probably 80s! The windows are modern but not really well done as you can feel the wind and you hear all the noise from the street. Friday night we discovered that only one contact working (in the bathroom) and they've told us it would be repaired saturday but of course nothing was done and saturday night a very unpleasant and disrespetful security guard told us that there are no repaparations on weekends and he proposed us an extension cable. We were leaving on sunday morning so we just took the extension. What saved us is that we were there just to sleep because beeing there with a baby for a whole day would be really difficult-parts of parquet are just falling dow so we were affraid our baby would eat it, same about particules of wall and wallpaper.
Review 125:nothing to appreciatte- dirty, disgusting, no trolley for laguage! Security guard is really disrespectfull but the girls at the reception desk were nice and helpfull, it's not their fault that they're working in such a dirty place.
Review 126:Could be a hair dryer in the bathroom.
Review 127:I've found the hotel clean and comfortable. The room was big and nice. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable
Review 128:the hotel is not centrally located. Had to struggle for an hour to locate the hotel and it is not near the main city centre. Not suitable if you are planning to walk to places.
Review 129:the room was spacious. was value for money. The staff were very friendly and could speak good English.
Review 130:I wish regular water was served in the room rather than carbonated. Also room was a bit cold I wish the heaters could be adjusted.
Review 131:As a solo traveller the room was perfect! The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke really good English. Breakfast was excellent and the cleanliness of my room was a lot more than I expected. Everything was amazing and I would definitely recommend those on a budget and backpacking to stay here. Way better than a hostel and value of money was perfect. Only 10 minute walk to the city centre. I would definitely come back here again! Wifi in the room was very strong and fast.
Review 132:Staff at reception not too much kind, it looked like they are making a favour to you giving you the opportunity to sleep in their hotel.
Review 133:Rooms are ok, restaurant and bar ok.
