Reviews for Hotel Falun

Review 1:The WiFi is not sufficient, slow and unstable. In some places new furnitures, but the bed can preferable be changed! Bathroom new though witch makes the stay comfortable in total.

Review 2:The staff and the clean room was great! Basic scandinavian breakfast served in a nice area with a good schedule.

Review 3:I'm very pleased with the stay. The hotel is fantasticallylocated, the room are really cozy and bright, the beds are soft andwelcoming, the rooms and bathroom very clean. There was a microwave inthe hall and one could make some tea or coffee (left for the visitors)after a long day in Falun. The staff was very friendly with a personaltouch (they asked about our day at the festival :)) The breakfast wasreally good too!

Review 4:- For the area, it was about half the cost of other nearby hotels - All the amenities except for having to share a shower, which I knew about ahead of time - Good wifi internet connection - Very friendly staff

Review 5:No onsite staff after 3PM on Saturday/Sunday. We had trouble getting into the hotel since we had been traveling and not received instructions sent by email. Doors into room and to the bathroom were sticking.

Review 6:Location in the center of Falun was convenient. Breakfast was good with several choices. Room on the ground floor was very quiet and beds were comfortable.

Review 7:Good location (quite but still central) very clean rooms, short walk from central station, good value for money, nice Swedish breakfast, comfortable beds..........

Review 8:The train station was under construction, so pulling our suitcases across the uneven gravel towards the hotel was awkward--no fault of the theirs! Hotel Falun has a convenient location on a main street in town.

Review 9:Prior to my scheduled stay, I had requested a favor of the hotel. The staff were very friendly in their response and promised that they would honor my request to store my luggage past the check-out time while I hiked around the area. However, my traveling partner and I missed our train connection the night of our reservation and were unable to make it to the hotel that night. We showed up the next morning having not cancelled the room, but the staff still was willing to do us the favor of storing our big suitcases behind the front desk at no charge to us. They made our day so much easier without having to worry about the luggage during the day. Thank you so much!

Review 10:Getting to the room in a different building with a different key is unnecessarily complicated and must be a nightmare to walk between the two entrances when its raining. The rooms and corridor have a strong smell of sandalwood which gives the impression to be covering bad odours.

Review 11:The breakfast was quite good compared to all the rest and the introduction of the receptionist has been exhaustive.

Review 12:Noisy. No tea possibility late evening. Not possible to make the room real dark during sleep.

Review 13:Easy to park just outside.

Review 14:The breakfast,

Review 15:It was clean, large and comfortable beds but Cold.

Review 16:High price Poor interior Poor breakfast

Review 17:When we came back to our room in the evening, the cleaning staff had left our door unlocked. Anyone passing could see the door was slightly open. Not good!

Review 18:Very nice and friendly staff.

Review 19:We were six guests in the big apartment. The room, although not the most up-to-date, was very clean and comfortable. Having access to a kitchen was perfect since we traveled with a small child.

Review 20:Shared bathroom and living area. Luckily there were no other guests staying in our apartment so this did not affect us however

Review 21:Friendly, accommodating staff; use of kitchen amenities was very useful

Review 22:No hot water in our room...but staff managed the situation very well.

Review 23:Very good for one night! Staff very friendly, good explainations for the arrival on Sunday when reception was closed. Good breakfast.

Review 24:The onlt thing missing was a hairdryer in the room but the staff provided one when asked.

Review 25:It was very convenient for the station and for the town. The purpose of our visit was to visit Sundborn and this was easy to do.

Review 26:It looked like they forget to clean my room after the last (or several)visitor. Popcorn crumbles on the table, and droor below, a sitting chairthat problably never seen av vacuumcleaner, a huge dead fly right on thefloor, burn marks on the table. Irritating with no hangar, for theotherwise ok bathroom, for the bath towel, and you had to step out ofthe shower to get to your towel. Not a hard thing to fix. All thefurniture is from like the 70's and really worn down, didn'teven feel like sitting on the stuffed chair because of the feel of the"uncleansyness". You couldn't really open a window becausethen everyone outside sees right in your room. For 750 sek per night Ireally expected it to not be the worst hotel I've stayed in, but itprobably was.

Review 27:Location was about the only thing that was of satisfaction. And thecouple of staff member we met was nice and friendly. The breakfast wasok! Quite comfortable bed actually, and that felt clean.

Review 28:What, on earth, was that? It was an experience and a half, but we are not sure if this place deserves the label of either hotel or pension. It would have all been worth to put up with if it had been a bargain, say about a third of the price. Apart from bedding and mattress, the interior of the room was quite dated- the windows had a bit of a draft, and it overall looked like an old one- room- apartment, with the same wall- closets and the same floor- covering as fifty years ago. That also applied to the walls and the door which enabled us to follow every sound from outside and the neighboring rooms. The breakfast had the very basics- even a vandrarhem/ hostel usually has a better selection. There will be nobody to restock it, either. What is gone is gone. Breakfast is only until 9, or 10 on the weekend. There is a communal TV room, which was unfortunately taken up by a vodka- drinking bunch of very old youngsters of about 85 years of age. Not the hotel's fault, but it was not pleasant. There is also no lift and no luggage boy as we saw it.

Review 29:Very service- minded receptionists. They obviously had an impact on the overall impression previous guests took home.
