Reviews for Healesville Maroondah View Motel
Review 1:The beautiful back garden area, with views of the mountains, and chickens, and peace and quiet!! Friendly owners, everything you need...with a good shower included.
Review 2:We didn't like the beds or pillows. The double bed felt like it might collapse! No top sheets on the beds.
Review 3:Family friendly, loved the swimming pool, beautiful mountain views from the balcony and very peaceful and tranquil location. All our needs were met by the owners.
Review 4:There was no where for soap in the shower, there was very poor quality refurbishments in the room, leaving you feeling it was a run down facility with a quick tidy and cleanup. On our second day we asked for fresh towels and got towels with large bleach discolourations. Definitely, not up to a professional standard at all, especially for the cost. Can see why this place was rated by dots and not stars. By the way, there is one too many dots.
Review 5:Shower head was refreshing and easily controlled after a day of touring
Review 6:Waited 10 minutes in reception to be served, had to call ofiice and still no answer. Receptionist finally came, she had been sitting in her car in the carpark
Review 7:Bathroom floor tiles grouting needed cleaning as did the ledges in the hanging space Curtain on door and hanging space unattractive
Review 8:Quiet,convenient, lovely view, good value
Review 9:Television did not pick up ABC! In state of renovation. "Staff' on book in consisted of child about 10 with a plastic fireman helmet. Interior decorator required.
Review 10:Location. Clean and functional bathroom. Comfortable bed and chairs. Clean linen.
Review 11:shower didn't appear to have much heat for a long time. The double bed in front of TV could not be used for two people to sleep in as one side was against a wall, thus requiring person on that side to climb over other person to get out. So we sat on this bed to watch TV and then we used other double bed to sleep in as both could get in and out of either side.
Review 12:The view from balcony, the layout of room, easy to find
Review 13:The bed was horrible. The springs were broken. The balcony not very solid and was quite dangerous. It was at least clean. I had to book a family room and psy for 4 people although there were only two of us.
Review 14:mouse droppings on bathroom floor towels smelt mouldy backyard bbq area was filthy with chairs stacked with dirt piled on and cockroaches between them it was roughly fenced off to keep chickens in.
Review 15:Room was freezing ..air con would not warm at all There was mouse poo in the shower and the small milks in the bar frig must have been there since year dot.. They were off ..
Review 16:Lack of dishes and utensils!! And could do with updating the heating as the heater was bit noisy
Review 17:The staff were very friendly and the view was beautiful
Review 18:Nothing really, looked into everything before we left ,knew it was budget .You get what you pay for.
Review 19:Warm on a freezing cold night. Heater and electric blankets. Bed comfy.Budget motel, don't expect any frills.Good enough just to sleep and go on to our next destination.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Offered to swap room because the heater didnt work in the room we were in. Politely came and told us that and offered a change of room which I thought was a really polite. Friendly thing to do
Review 22:Access from the car park with bags wasn't easy.
Review 23:The view was great & even though the place is old & not stylish at all, there were extra little homey touches that showed care had been taken. Very clean too which was great.
Review 24:Well what can we say about this place!! Not much. Booked through anonline app and the "Apartment" what apartment the picturescertainly did not match, I will give you a list of what it did not havefully functioning power sockets, no top sheet or extra blankets, brokenhandles in the bathroom and the toilet roll sat on top of the toiletbrush cleaner, private balcony "what private balcony" it was averandah that ran the length of five rooms "NO privacy at ALL"I would feel guilty booking my dog in here for the night! For no addedcost you had possum's in the ceiling, well we hope they were possumshaving a football game and the entry exit ways were a nightmare plus theexit was blocked for sometime by a septic truck removal. Rather thanmaking a reservation we felt like we had been sentenced to a 2 nightstay in the local penitentiary particularly with the institutional greendecor. Needless to say I did not bend down to pick up the soap .
Review 25:The day we left!
Review 26:Price jump for a room with mould on the shower that is approx.1-2years old when the grout wasn't sealed or they just aren't cleaned properly and there was a ratty face washer in the bottom of the shower when we arrived. 2 of us had a quick shower (1st 3-4min shower) and the 2nd had it turn cold after not even 1 minute, freezing cold with ice water to wash soap off face and conditioner from hair is not good, they didn't seem to care and said it was a shared hot water service with the room next door. Noisy heating made our stay unbearable as it was either to hot or cold, we could not sleep properly and made our holiday a nightmare, 3 of us were having headaches in the room but when we went out they went away, when we had heater off we could hear next doors one too, we couldn't hear the tv it was so loud in the room. paint on the bricks near the kitchenette have discolored, it's possible for the start of mould. walls have either insects splattered on them or something wiped on them.
Review 27:Location
Review 28:access to room and water dripping from veranda after the rain all night, we over powered the heater and were not aware off the trip button only office staff could switch on, till latter.
Review 29:having a cot all set up at our request, clean fresh white sheets on beds, towels and a toaster.
Review 30:Not a very effective air conditioner and motel entrance difficult to locate in the dark. Could do with a soap/shampoo shelf in the bathroom.
Review 31:The electric blanket, comfortable bed, the hot water and the view.
Review 32:Giant hot water service in the bathroom, half renovated bathroom, squeaky bed, no kettle or cutlery provided.
Review 33:Lovely sheets, flexible checkin hours, suitable for anyone looking for a bed for the night.
Review 34:Heating could not be regulated digitally. It would just shut off and then come back on so the room would get stuffy or cold.
Review 35:Views and the comfortable beds.
Review 36:Very old and out dated. Bed was horrible, and the balcony was shared. No fan in the bathroom. Not a pleasant nights stay. If we booked for longer, we would have checked out and gone somewhere else.
Review 37:The lady behind the counter was very lovely.
Review 38:No microwave and the WiFi didn't work.
Review 39:Rooms were large with plenty of room. Walls well insulated against noise, couldn't hear the other guests at all. Beautiful view out the window with wild birds.
Review 40:The double bed was very squeaky every time you turn over in it. The TV kept cutting out and having no signal most of the time. No condiments or cutlery/crockery to use with the toaster. No restaraunt on the premises as shown in the photos. Very narrow, dusty driveway. I had to wash all the tree debris off my car in the morning when we left.
Review 41:The staff were very helpful by showing us to our room. The location was very peaceful and the room was clean. My 7 year old daughter loved the salt water swimming pool and there were even toys, goggles and sun decks there for the guests to use. The free range chooks near the pool were cute too. Lovely mountain views through our window and we even spotted a local Kookaburra! We liked the fact we had some free toiletries in the bathroom and there were some biscuits and tea/coffee making facilities in the room too.
Review 42:No kettle, tea, coffee or anything supplied in the room. Not really something that expect to be missing.
Review 43:Bed was comfy. Water was hot. Was a good place to rest your head after a wedding a get ready
Review 44:Place is looking tired. Thin walls so lots of noise from neighbours. No tissues or guest information in the room.
Review 45:Spotlessly clean. Friendly owner. Close to town but quiet.
Review 46:When we got to bed after a long day of bicycling on the Great Vic Bike ride, there was no top sheet. It was too late to call someone so I slept with my naked body against a doona cover that had been in contact with how many others? The next day, the manager says it is their policy to not provide a top cover. That's just plain dirty IMHO. Also, it was hot. If I had only a top sheet, I wouldn't have wasted so much air conditioning. They gave NO towels. we used two facecloths to dry up the puddles on the floor so we wouldn't kill ourselves. the 80 litre hot water tank which was IN the bathroom ran out when the neighbour also used the shower. the manager said the two rooms share a hot water tank. Our tank at home is over 200 litres, certainly a hotel room that shares should be over 200 also. There was no coffee or toaster to be found. It turned out to be high in a cupboard. I said everyone puts it on the counter and she replied that it looks messy on the counter. regardless, I couldn't see it. it was high in a cupboard, and my stay was worse because of it. The room was terribly outdated. A curtain covered the glass door, also covered a space meant to be a closet. It is called the Maroondah view and yet there is no view of either the resevoir OR the highway of same names. The parking was single lane only and a booze bus parked in my way for over five minutes. I couldn't get around him because I had bikes on the top of my car. I'd like my money back, but I am not that type of person. They need to fix a lot.
Review 47:The Mattress was extremely comfortable (if only we'd had sheets).
Review 48:Wheelchair access involved negotiating a step into the room, and a steep ramp from the car park. Distance from town. Motel looking somewhat dated in appearance. Swimming pool was too cold to use, even in November.
Review 49:Nice view of the hills from the room.
Review 50:Disappointed about the lack of a small microwave.
Review 51:Helpful, friendly, unintrusive family business. Happy place to stay with a wonderful panoramic view from the bedroom window. A quick walk down the lane takes you to a lovely park with electric barbecues and eating areas. Short drive to Healesville.
Review 52:Shower not clean, soap holder hanging off wall also toilet roll holder falling off. Kettle, toaster and teatowel provided but no plates or cutlery to use. Bath towels very thin.
Review 53:Location, nice lot of hot water.
Review 54:Pillows were a little hard but that is a personal preference and there was nowhere to wash our dishes once we used them other than the bathroom sink. There was a pair of socks belonging to a previous tenant left in the cupboard. Once I mentioned it to the owner she was very concerned and apologetic for this.
Review 55:Being a single parent taking three children away can be a stressful time but staying at the Healsville Maroonday View Motel made it that much easier. Kids had a bed each which meant I could get a decent nights sleep, the room was spacious and clean with all the amenities needed for a short stay away from home. We had a spider come visit us which the owner promptly removed from the room when asked for help.
Review 56:no alarm clock, no micro wave oven smoke alarm above kettle and toaster constantly going off, in need of a complete refit out
Review 57:staff very friendly, lovely views , nice and clean ,fantastic location,
Review 58:There were dirty socks in the cupboard. The microwave PowerPoint didn't work. Th cups were not clean.
Review 59:The beds were clean the view was great. The bathroom was clean but unfinished.
Review 60:The black mould behind the bathroom door and around the bathroom window. The shoddy cupboard with a faded curtain in front of it that represented a wardrobe. The dirty bathroom door frame that they hadn't bothered to paint in their recent renovation. A lady told us their advertised restaurant doesn't exist. A shame because we had planned to have dinner there as this place is a few km out of town.
Review 61:The view over the valley, particularly in the morning mist, was beautiful. Colourful rosellas take advantage of the enveloping forest. Good shower.
Review 62:Extremely basic accommodation, provided toaster but no knife or plate to eat toast with. chairs were hard and almost imposable to sit in for any length of time, lights too dim to read by.
Review 63:Pleasant staff, nice views
Review 64:A little but too basic for us.
Review 65:The bed was clean and ok comfort wise, amenities adequate, but if you value aesthetic's this is not the one for you.
Review 66:No menu or breakfast offered, some renovation going on but needs a lot more, air con inefficient and water heater for bathroom sitting on the floor (of bathroom)
Review 67:Price
Review 68:Good location. Lovely view. Pleasant friendly staff. Basic but adequate accommodation. Room was clean. It looks like it is being updated which should make for a very comfortable stay.
Review 69:Pool was GREEN covered in Algae No top sheet on beds Doona cover too short for bed Bedside lamps did not work Heater did not work effectively
Review 70:Location View
Review 71:The heater was a bit noisy, although the room warmed up quite quickly.
Review 72:The room was cosy and the showers wonderful and hot. The bed was very comfortable.
Review 73:Noisy a/c heater for a cold night in july and no fan in bathroom which made it quite steamy!
Review 74:Nice location away from the crowds in town -friendly staff- we walked into town 30 mins stroll and used the rsl bus to get back
Review 75:The cane chairs were hard and to watch the TV, it was cramped, other than that, it was value for the money.
Review 76:The beds were so comfortable, better than some 5 star ones we have slept in.
Review 77:The whole place needs a good clean up. It is very tired. The lighting was very poor inside Power point hanging off the wall. Toilet seat was very loose. The place was clean inside but there was no coffee. The outside is very untidy especially around the laundry and Pool area.I would call it a Very Very basic Motel
Review 78:- the two permanent residents that constantly smoke and talk on the stairs out the front of room 4 ( which we had ). - You can easily hear the person enter their room next to you.
Review 79:The location is great
Review 80:Broken shower door handle, handle missing from vanity drawer, small rough towels and NO electric blanket for such a cold location.
Review 81:Very clean bed linen
Review 82:The place is a little old and I missed the driveway every time.
Review 83:The balcony with views and birds in the morning. We saw kookaburras, cockatoos, crimson Rosella and of course minah birds
Review 84:The heating needs to be updated, especially for these chilly winter nights
Review 85:The staff were nice, so were the facilities. A little bit dated, but comfortable.
Review 86:was hoping to get breakfast and there wasn't cutlery for takeaways.
Review 87:nice view from window

Review 89:No internet. TV channels not preset.
Review 90:Newly renovated bathroom
Review 91:The view from the room and the helpfulness of the Proprietor.
Review 92:?
Review 93:A bit run down. Too far away from CBD
Review 94:We arrived late afternoon, fridge was not switched on.
Review 95:It was a basic motel but clean and in good location
Review 96:We missed the turning to the motel as the signage was a bit confusing.

Review 109:Bed was comfortable and warm
Review 110:Friendly staff
Review 111:Building and garden need a lot of maintenance! Room incomplete with renovations !
