Reviews for Hotel Bisanzio

Review 1:Rooms were a little bit too warm but a quick chat with Reception had it fixed straight away.

Review 2:Fantastic location! Hotel has been completely refurbished and rooms very spacious. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant especially Marco at Reception.

Review 3:The rooms got very hot and stuffy meaning you had to open the windows to cool down and therefore the outside noises and smells.

Review 4:Location was great and staff were friendly.

Review 5:Bathroom was a little cramped. Noise from inside hotel and out on the streets quite distracting.

Review 6:Short walk from St. Mark's Square tucked away from the busy harbour, friendly and helpful staff on arrival. The room was modestly sized with a comfy bed.

Review 7:No restaurant, which meant searching for restaurants after long days sightseeing. Small breakfast room often crowded, with occasional waits to find a table.

Review 8:Location, very helpful staff, comfortable beds, well furnished large bedroom, quiet at night and a good ambiance. Breakfasts fine.

Review 9:The breakfast room was too small. 5 of us was crammed to sit in 1 small table.

Review 10:Location is close to San Marco and Boat stop. The room was very basic. The heater in the bathroom didn't work well and it was 1C outside. We stayed in a family room which located in a separate building next to the main hotel. The beds comprised one double bed and a bunk bed. I would not recommend young children to sleep on the upper bunk bed.

Review 11:Wifi was slightly hit and miss in our room, however was flawless in the main lobby and restaurant.

Review 12:Fantastic staff with a very warm welcome. Great rooms and facilities in the room. Having forgotten a travel adapter, reception were more than helpful and lent us one for the duration of our stay.

Review 13:The breakfast offerings were very limited. Much less that offered by other hotels.

Review 14:The staff was excellent. The location was quiet and away from most of the tourist traffic, but within walking distance of everything.

Review 15:the hotel seemed to have an infestation of mosquitos. The first night I killed 10, and by the way, the cleaners did not clean the marks in the walls in all our stay of four nights. the other big problem, was the extreme heating, it was far too warm, so it was very difficult to sleep.

Review 16:the location is very central, but at the same time it is quiet

Review 17:The staff was helpful and friendly. With a cheerful greeting, I felt I was coming home after a long busy day.I recall Manuala when I first arrived and at breakfast. Marco at the desk was most helpful as well as Gabriel.

Review 18:Very close to Vaporetto and San Marco located in a quiet passage. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated. I've stayed in Venice a few times and this was my favorite. Breakfast was very good.

Review 19:The pillows were not comfortable.

Review 20:The accommodations were convenient to all the major attractions and well suited for traveling with our grandchildren (ages 6 & 4). We stayed in a family accommodation. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful with an excellent selection.

Review 21:A few cobwebs in one of the bedrooms. The windows looked out on to other buildings and their windows, so we kept the curtains closed. But we never expected a view.

Review 22:Excellent location close to St Mark's square but still very quiet. The room was described as for 4 people, but in fact we had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sitting room!

Review 23:Nothing.

Review 24:Great location, 7-10 minutes walk to San Marco Square but located in a quiet place. Superior room is spacious and comfortable, bathroom is big enough and very practical. It was perfectly clean in the room! The staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. Huge special thanks to Gabriele at the reception desk for his attentiveness, great recommendations and all the help that made our stay in Venice a wonderful experience!

Review 25:Nothing was missing....we enjoyed ourselves. It was more costly than other accommodations we looked at.

Review 26:Location was great, breakfast was great, rooms were fine.

Review 27:Very over priced, the so called fantastic breakfast, was far from fantastic. The rooms are small, with tiny bathrooms. No Bar, No Alcohol at all.

Review 28:The Staff were friendly

Review 29:There were no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, which I found strange, nor were there any in the lounge. Considering the cost of the rooms I think these could have been provided. Taking commercialism this far is the reason I downgraded my facilities rating.

Review 30:Literally 5 minutes walk from the San Zaccaria waterbus Stop B & a 10 minute stroll from St Mark's square, it couldn't be better placed. Clean, comfortable & friendly. A good breakfast choice.

Review 31:The night agent was rude. The power had a surge when we attempted to plug in our charger for our iPad. He made us feel like it was our fault.

Review 32:The suite was beautiful, breakfast was delicious and location was perfect!

Review 33:We had Superior Double room with NO Cafe and tea Maker but supposed to be included.

Review 34:Very good location. Quiet. Clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 35:The hotel lacked character and was more functional than anything else. Breakfast was basic and was a very rushed experience (servers were stressed out running in and out so you always felt on edge).

Review 36:The hotel is well located in Venice. It's close to San Marco square as well as the water bus stations. It's old but well maintained. Room was a good size and was quite comfortable.

Review 37:Very much convinient location, just 5 mins walking distance to the most interesting places in Venice. Beautiful room for 4 people, all of us were very satisfied! The gentlemen of reception were very nice and friendly, provided us very good options to Murano and Venice airport.

Review 38:The staff were amazing, polite, helpful and funny! Can't say enough good things about the Front desk staff! The breakfast ladies were so accommodating and the choices were great and the coffee fabulous. Our rooms were lovely and well appointed..best hotel in my 3 weeks visit to Europe with my husband and 3 children. Highly recommend!

Review 39:Location nice new bathroom clean and tidy

Review 40:Nice location close to the water bus family room is upstairs with a narrow steps room size is not great and the price is high

Review 41:Nothing. Just they can be more patient with people that have never been to Venice.

Review 42:The staff was helpful in getting us a water taxi in the morning before we left.

Review 43:Breakfast was repetitive with very limited choice. Prices were a bit too steep but could be due to high tourist season. Venice was too crowded and weather was very very hot and humid at 35°C +. Nothing that hotel could do about

Review 44:Location very excellent and near prime sites although a bit far from other sites esp Jewish quarter and sites near Rialto.Excellent and very courteous and helpful staff.

Review 45:Not good value for the money. The hotel is classic, comfortable but needs updating. Staff, while not impolite, show clear signs of being fed up with tourists. Crowds in the area are too much, better stay in other areas of Venice. Breakfast not very good. I feel I paid way too much for what the hotel offered.

Review 46:It is very clean. It is comfortable, although it needs updating.

Review 47:This was in a perfect location right near St. Marks Square. The staff were extremely helpful in our planning for our first time in Venice. They were always available to help. Accommodations were comfortable and convenient.

Review 48:Overall a very good experience. Minor negative: the rooms in the 2-BR apartment are small with little cupboard & drawer space (especially for a family of four), so we lived out of open suitcases on floor/furniture. WiFi was patchy in the rooms (in the adjacent building), but good in the main hotel areas.

Review 49:Great staff, super location, walking distance to all major attractions (even with a 5yo), very close (2-3 min walk) to major ferry (vaporetto) stop.

Review 50:Stuffy staff

Review 51:Our room on the top floor was fantastic. Felt right at home. Located in the most business area, yet positioned on a quiet back street. Great place to explore Venice.

Review 52:On the down side there were a few mozzies in the bathroom but easily dealt with.

Review 53:Loved the location - at the end of an alley so quiet and less crowded than other locations. Close to the Bienale. Great to come home to. Restaurants closeby were more for locals and at reasonable price. The breakfasts were very good and the reception staff very helpful. Marco was the standout. His cheery nature was uplifting.

Review 54:Its hard to find Good value for money in Venice. This hotel was really Good. Nothing to complain. Location super. Breakfast room women where super. Great 2 Nights and 3 days. Good location if u come to see Biennale

Review 55:They said there's free wi fi but the reception was very very poor. We weren't able to use it regularly. Also we had two rooms and one of the rooms smelled like mold and damp.

Review 56:I liked the location and the gorgeous room decore.

Review 57:Our comfortable rooms were virtually silent, overlooking a quiet courtyard. The 'Best Western' label seems almost a formality, as the Bisanzio remains a classic, family-run hotel - in a terrific location.

Review 58:Bed on the hard side and the wifi did not work most of the time.

Review 59:Excellent breakfast. Very quiet room. Stunning views over the roof tops towards Piazza San Marco. Friendly atmosphere.

Review 60:Nothing

Review 61:An ideally located hotel for all facilities ie boat buses and taxis, really close to the bridge of sighs and St. Marks square , very friendly staff who all speak English , would recommend this hotel

Review 62:The room was a little dusty, and the aircon was not that cold. Was sneezing a lot.

Review 63:The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially when asking for advice and locations. Gabriel was amazing . Wifi was fast and breakfast was pretty good.

Review 64:Marco on the front desk was absolutely fantastic with his speedy solutions to our sightseeing and eating out needs. Superb local knowledge ensured best value for money authentic experiences. Hotel is superbly located for St Mark's Square, Grand Canal, wandering the shops & trattoria surrounding.

Review 65:Breakfast was REALLY self serve, including get your own cutlery and tidy your own waste on the table. Limited selection and choices.

Review 66:Excellent location, FABULOUS front desk staff (especially Gabriel and Marco) who knew everything, made wonderful recommendations and even reservations, spacious, clean room.

Review 67:A perfect location and friendly and helpful staff. The room was spotlessly clean, well equipped and an extremely comfortable sleep. The self serve breakfast was plentiful and excellent . ,k@

Review 68:Staff member left bathroom window open which attracted Mosquitos. But truly not a huge deal.

Review 69:The location was wonderful, just minutes from San Marco Square. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 70:We had a room in the building right next to the main hotel. The door into the building was very heavy and slammed very loudly when people went in or out.

Review 71:Very helpful and gracious staff!

Review 72:Like many hotels insufficient lighting in bathroom. Was not able to get a coffee during the day or when we came in at night.

Review 73:Excellent room. Good breakfast.

Review 74:Hotel is in good walking distance to Mark's Square. Good air-con for Italy. Very good breakfast included w/room. Next to canal for easy water taxi to airport.

Review 75:We loved this hotel, a very nice place away from noise and crowds. Rooms are very nice, furnished in venetian style, good sized and very confortable. Staff is very nice , polite and helpful. Breakfast is good and tasty. A plus is the hotel location close to the San Marco Square, vaporetto stations and other Venice tourist attractions.

Review 76:Choice at breakfast was a bit limited for the price

Review 77:Very friendly staff, nice comfortable hotel in the heart of Venice, very convenient location as Vaporetto stations within 500m to anywhere

Review 78:Very difficult to find, hotel should provide some instructions. I arrived in Venice in the middle of the night, everything closed and nobody knows the hotel!

Review 79:The location is good

Review 80:Shower was ridiculously small. Hard to maneuver. Ladies will have difficulty washing hair or shaving legs.

Review 81:Great location and super friendly staff. We had a recently redone room Breakfast more than adequate and wait staff efficient and obliging. We had a very good rate ( for Venice) so felt it was very good value.

Review 82:Low wi-fi. Very standart breakfast.

Review 83:Great location! 100 meter from the boat station. Couple of minutes to San Marco. Ten minutes to Realto Bridge. Very clean specious room decored in Venician style. Very polite, helpful English speaking stuff. Our room was on the 5 th floor overlooking on the Venice roofs. Great view! There is an elevator in the hotel, that is not obvious in Venice.

Review 84:Leaving after only 9 nights when there was so much more to see and explore.

Review 85:Excellent location for exploring all of Venice. Only one bridge from San Zaccaria water bus landing which is convenient when dragging cases. Within easy walking distance of good eateries and excellent supermarket. All staff friendly and helpful. Excellent room renovated in 2014. 5 piece bathroom including bath/shower, and separate shower cubicle. Quiet location but only five minutes from St. Mark's square. The WiFi was excellent. Secure luggage storage in reception for when departure is later in the day.

Review 86:Close to S.Marco and Grand Canal but away from crowds in quite Castello district. Modern conveniences throughout Hotel- rooms spacious and clean. Lovely decorations with Murano chandeliers and mirrors in room. Breakfast free- good selection- friendly staff served excellent morning cappuccino. View from room overlooked quiet courtyard. Would have preferred canal view which we had in a previous hotel in Castello. Excellent restaurants close by.

Review 87:In my humble opinion Best Western Hotel Bisanzio has really the best price-quality ratio. Everything is sure to be perfect! Very nice hotel in the most beautiful town in the world!

Review 88:1) Bathroom - found ants crawling on floor; bathroom cleanliness and ventilation can be improved. 2) Buffet breakfast - very limited choice especially with hot food!

Review 89:Location

Review 90:Wish the hotel had an onsite store or restaurant to buy snacks.

Review 91:The locations was perfect....near St. Mark's less then a 5 minute walk...staff was very personaable and helpful. We would stay there again.

Review 92:Breakfast choice was a little limiting but was still good.

Review 93:Room size was great and balcony was a lovely sun trap. Easy walking distance to all attractions.

Review 94:This is a minor criticism. We paid for a 3-bedded room. The double was huge, but the third bed was unfolded from the wall. This seemed to be the lower half of a bunk bed. The upper bunk (although folded away) overhung the lower bunk. Mind your head!

Review 95:Location was excellent, staff were really helpful … and piping hot water in bath and shower. (Great when we got drenched in colossal rain and had to wade through dramatic "aqua alta"!)

Review 96:For starters, we followed their suggestion of a vaporetto stop, but itturned out to be too far away with two major bridges to cross. We wentinto another hotel lobby, where a man at the front desk called theBisanzio for us to see if they could send someone to help with theluggage. The answer was no. So that man kindly carried the two suitcasesover the first bridge, and we were lucky enough to have someyounger/stronger men offer to carry them over the second bridge. When selecting a hotel for this trip, my top priority was to find onewith an elevator because I can't climb even a whole flight ofstairs. I also needed a room with sufficient light because of a visionissue. The Bisanzio had an elevator and promised a room with lots oflight. But when we arrived, we discovered that our room was up (anddown) six steps from where the elevator stops. They had given us a roomwith great light and a nice courtyard view but couldn't change us toa room with no stairs. The only other (and minor) thing is that seem tocater to American tourists, so if you find this helpful, it works. Ifyou want to pretend you live there or would prefer to be with peoplefrom all over the globe, this isn't that kind of place.

Review 97:We enjoyed staying here because the lobby areas and our room werebeautifully decorated in classic Venetian style. Also, we loved stayingin a more residential (and quieter) area. The little passageways off tothe sides of the hotel and on from there were lovely and enjoyable, yetif we walked straight out the front door, we were right on the Rivadegli Schiavoni in less than a minute. So, it's possible from hereto stay in the neighborhood or to blend right in with the crowds ofpeople and walk wherever you like or get to a vaporetto. This was veryconvenient and helpful, but if you can't use the stairs, be sure toadvise the hotel when you book your room. The room we had was very nice, with a view of the other buildings and a courtyard, and the little balcony was a great asset.

Review 98:The hotel is less than 300 metres from the piers where boats from both the railway station and airport stop. Less than 10 minutes walk to major attractions.

Review 99:Hard to describe something bad.

Review 100:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Service, cleanliness and comfort are very good. The location of the Hotel is excellent, very close to the main sights and walking distance to the vaporetto stop. Very close to the "Plaza de San Marcos". Breakfast is adequate considering what you would pay for the same in any restaurant. Highly recommended. We return to this hotel with pleasure.

Review 101:Not enough toiletries and it would be nicer to have china cups and tea making facilities rather than polyutherene cups.

Review 102:This is a beautiful hotel, close to everything! Gondolas, water transport, restaurants and incredible views of st marco

Review 103:The wifi in the bedroom is very bad.

Review 104:The location despite there isn't a great view. The staff is very nice and helpful. The installations are good and the decor is good taste.

Review 105:The only critique I would have is regarding the breakfast. Having more variety would be a big plus.

Review 106:The location was perfect as well as the front desk assistance with recommendations for dining and transportation. Kudos to Gabriel & "Tony". Rooms were clean, quieter than expected, and comfortable.

Review 107:Great location and easy to find. Staff was professional and very receptive. Rooms were very clean, good size and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and well organized. We would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Review 108:Very expensive for €440 per night but might be due to the fact that we booked same day due to bedbug issues we had at hotel we initially booked.

Review 109:Very spacious and luxurious but we definitely paid for it since it was 4 times more than what we would pay even in Hawaii. It was a great way to spend our last night in Venice though.

Review 110:Not much, perhaps the breakfast could have a little more variety.

Review 111:This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Bisanzio, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms are so luxurious with so much charm. It's just a short walk to all the shopping and action in Venice.

Review 112:The price was a bit high for the level of hotel. Our room was on the 2nd (1st floor in Italy) floor and we heard street noise well into the wee hours of the morning. But that is to be expected with the great location.

Review 113:Francesco gave us wonderful suggestions and his advice on how to avoid crowds was spot on. The location is only about two bridges from San Marco and perhaps 20 meters from the lagoon (though there are no views). The wifi worked well, the ac was cool, the breakfast also provided eggs and breakfast meats. Out room was spacious and nicely outfitted. We had a triple with one queen and one twin. The twin was situated in an alcove, which provided privacy if needed. The bathroom was large and had both a tub (with shower) and a stall shower. It also had two sinks and an interior door to the water closet portion. The room and bathroom were very clean. They held our luggage on our departure day, so we could see more sites that morning. There are small sitting areas in the public area and a nice bathroom in the public area. All in all a great room for a small group of three (though two must share a bed). We enjoyed our stay.

Review 114:No significant negatives worth mentioning. It's Venice: all the rooms are on the cozy side and a bit small (but you'll hardly notice because you're never there).

Review 115:Great location. Small but good breakfast. All the staff was very pro and friendly. Close to major sights (Venice is completely walkable...if not for you then take a water taxi or gondola). A super market is 5 minute walk. Restarants everywhere...I would recommend selecting ones 'in' the alleys and by-ways: better and a bit cheaper. Treat yourself if it's good weather and take a water taxi to/from the airport...like nothing you've ever experienced.

Review 116:Superb receptionist - very helpful, welcoming and provide 2 fantastic dinner recommendations. Being there in mid-August the air-con in the room was a life saver. Also nice to be able to retreat from the crowds just a few paces into the tranquil street where the hotel is located. Very easy too to get to from the water taxi - just 2 mins walk.

Review 117:A little pricey but to be expected in Venice in July. Worth it!

Review 118:Location was amazing very close to everything, easy access by private taxi or vaporetto. Close to all sights but in a secluded quiet area away from the noise. Front desk staff extremely helpful for any needs. Breakfast great with good selection and great cappucini from very kind staff. Room spacious and spotless with beautiful furnishings. Excellent wifi. Had a fantastic tour arranged to Murano through hotel and Vivaldi concert tickets at Ateneo Basso which was fantastic! Thanks to Hotel Bisanzio for a wonderful stay !

Review 119:The first room was too hot and did not cool down, so we had to change rooms. That one was fine. Both were on an upper floor with skylights; probably those were open all day which allowed the room to heat up. It was a hot day.

Review 120:Very nice staff, rooms comfortable, breakfast was acceptable. Good location, parking close, easy to walk to the square.

Review 121:Very personable staff and very helpful, room spacious, bathroom not large but larger than normal and designed well. Good a/c, very comfortable. Very conveniently located.

Review 122:Everything was great! nothing was wrong.

Review 123:Not anything to complain, everyone was very friendly and I would recommend this very highly to everyone visiting Venice for the first time. Lovely. Fantastic staff, great location.

Review 124:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 125:All staff were very professional, friendly, efficient and helpful. Nothing asked of them was too much trouble. The facilities were perfect for us and the hotel was impeccably clean. We experienced the same when we first stayed at the hotel, about 16 years age. If visiting Venice again we would not consider any other hotel.

Review 126:The weather was fantastic, and the people at the Hotel was absolutely great.

Review 127:very good location, walking distance to city center, nice room and good breakfast.

Review 128:Location near St Marco square

Review 129:Great hotel to stay and explore Venice
