Review 1：The location was perfect, The rooms excellent and all the self catering cutlery,crockery and glass ware were plentiful and clean. The unit was serviced so it was cleaned to a very high standard daily. Would recommend it to any of my friends to stay at as the village is quiet in the winter and a perfect place to relax

Review 8：As many have mentioned the complex is on top of a hill, but we wanted sea views and it was worth walking up and down the hill into town. There are various routes to choose from some slightly easier than others but you really do get used to it. It wasn't that hot when we were there though, I think climbing the steep hill in the heat would be a lot harder.
Review 9：Our apartment was superb it was bright, spacious, modern, clean & comfortable with stunning views over the town, beach & ocean.
Review 10：We added a night to our stay prior to arrival, but when the booking was changed, a higher rate had been applied. Fortunately I noticed this and mentioned it to reception, who put things right with no problems. Cleaners arrived early (several ladies together) on our final day. The rush spoilt things somewhat for us.

Review 16：As non- smokers, there was definitely a smell of a history of smokers in the apartment, which was really the only negative comment. It just needed a good "airing". I'm not sure if there was an option for non smoking appartments.
Review 17：Weve been to Carvoiero many times but not at Monte Durado. It has very welcoming, friendly, and helpful staff. It's a great location, good facilities, clean, and although a little "tired" looking furnishings , it was comfortable and lacked none of the essential basics.

Review 21：Dirty room, tired site had to swap rooms .Booked a superior ,refurbished room which was neither.There was mould on the shower curtain and in the rubber ring in the washing machine the floor had not been cleaned hand prints on the tiles and generally poor certainly not refurbished.changed room after two nights much better but still not that clean,did not realise appartments are privately owned and standards vary.

Review 35：The apartment was spacious with two bathrooms, a kitchen with brand new appliances and a large living area. The terrace was nicely shaded from the very hot sunshine. Inside the air con in the living room and bedrooms was very efficient. Cleaners every day except Sunday.
Review 36：This was the first time that I have had an apartment where there was parking right outside at the Monte Dourado this was not good as I also had no air conditioning and having the window open meant a lot of noise at night which I have never experienced in August but had this in June!

We stayed in three different apartments over time and out very much depends on the location of your apartment, the one we had eighth sea view was amazing.

The bathrooms were nice, decent views from the villa, although the unit in front of it blocked part of the view. The front desk staff were very helpful, the gentleman recommended the most amazing beach - Marinha Beach. The electric heater in the living room really warmed the place up quickly. I would highly recommend this unit and this resort to others.

Review 68：We used the apartment as a base to go out and look for property so it was great. But if I was staying for a sunshine holiday, I would have found all the steps on the complex a problem and also the outside of the properties, and pool areas (sun-beds) looked a bit tired.

Review 73：Poor wifi connection in spite of having just been renewed. No hot water in bathroom for two days till repaired. No warning verbal or written that our pool was being closed for one+ days while new cover was being fitted. Dogs mess on corner of the pavement immediately outside office which met us every day! Lounge and bedrooms nicely modernised but bathrooms, hallway and much of woodwork very tired and in need of attention. Pool seat covers badly stained (black) and needed replaced. Didn't like position of dustbins on way out of appartment

I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and never been charged for use of the safe. This is just penny pinching!

Both ok if you are young if you are aged between 57 & 67 not so good!! Can not fault our appartment it was perfect and very homely with a traditional Portuguese feel. Maids cleaned every other day and wifi with English tv was very handy for those relaxing at home. All in all a wonderful stay.

The kitchen had everything we needed including a washing machine so for a weeks holiday it was possibly just to bring one carry on bag and have plenty of clothes. The location is up a steep hill but this was not a problem for us as we were not wearing heels :-) Would definitely go back here.
Review 89：Our 2bed ground floor apartment(up 3 flights of stairs) overlooked a very ugly garden which had no view whatsoever, it was like being in a dungeon. The balcony was long and narrow with a large roundtable. No where really to Sun bathe..... Not that we got much Sun as it was so shaded. Lots of Ants and cats everywhere on balcony. Didn't get much sleep as we could hear every footstep & conversations from upstairs and around us, just a concrete floor above us and the sound of dragging chairs was a nightmare!!!! It was like having other people constantly in our space. Cleaners were very noisey but to b fair the apartment interior were very clean. These apartments are situated high on a cliff and each block of apts has 1 medium pool and 1 kiddies pool. thats it !!!!No facilities whatsoever on this complex, no bar, no shop, nothing!!!! 5 minute walk down the very steep hill (don't bring ure heels), 20 minute walk back up. Not my idea of a holiday dragging basic food and water to apartment. my advice is to Stay in the village solferus sol is bang in the middle oof the sq. We paid 735 for 7 days....what a waste !!! Should hav gone with a hotel. Never again!!
Review 90：Decor in apartment was lovely but the apartment had an echo and was so noisey. We asked to b moved on day 2 and nobody reverted to us, complex was fully booked!! People must hav been hiding as we saw very little people around. Steps & stairs everywhere and the complex is very badly lighted up and hazardous.

Review 102：It was quite hard to believe the high score on booking.com. but everything was as expected and promised. The people at the reception are extremely nice, one of the best services I ever had. They are not just doing their job, they pay good attention at clients' needs, they helped us booking a boat trip and always explained us all the options, not just trying to sell a service. The complex is very nice, with many apartments but with good architecture, so that it does not seem packed out or touristic. Good taste, peaceful and green. Each little house is closed to a pool, pools come in 2: one for adults and one for children. Cleaning service is very good and cleaning ladies are very understanding, coming back at a suitable hour if you’re still at home during their round. Internet is ok, you get an account or two to use on any device. The location is superb, close to everything: supermarkets, restaurants and beaches. There are different types of apartments, for any need: we booked one with sea view, but those with pool view are nice as well for the family with children, they can be supervised easily from the balcony or terrace.
Review 103：The apartment is very spacious. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds. The balcony is wide and you can be in the shade which we liked. The kitchen has everything although we didn't cook. Our pool was right in front of the apartment and it was very quiet. The complex is 2 mins walk into town and the beach is a further 2 mins. I can't fault this place.
