Reviews for Colina Village
Review 1:Definitely need a car to get there and to town/ beach (luckily we did). Appropriate for a family with small children, that will use facilities (e.g. pool, garden, games). No internet connection in bungalows, just at the reception and poor connection. Good value because we shared it with another couple!
Review 2:Spatiousness, with living room, kitchen and a balcony.
Review 3:The food in the restaurant was disappointing but we found one offsite which was great.
Review 4:The general location as a taxi ride to the nearest town of Carvoiero is reasonably priced and the service prompt. Reception staff are very helpful. Overall great
Review 5:It's difficult to walk to the beach with children as there isn't footpaths for the first 300 metres, ok by day but not after dark. Beach is about 30 minutes walk. Free shuttle bus runs only 3 times daily.
Review 6:Friendly staff , good pool and good sized children's pool. Mini market (small shop)was very reasonable and convenient . Restaurant was reasonable with friendly and helpful staff. Pool not crowded . Very spacious apartment with good sized kitchen .
Review 7:We were disappointed with the kitchen: the fridge was really old andtatty, (it even had rust on the door edges) and there was only 1electrical socket in the kitchen. This is crazy because you can'tuse the kettle and the toaster or microwave at the same time. The dialson the hob buttons were so old you couldn't read the numbers so wehad to ask reception why the hob wasn't getting hot enough and theyshowed us a diagram of where the numbers should be, so they must get alot of these questions!!
Review 8:The apartment was huge, with 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Theplace was very clean and there was maid service every day and thegrounds were very well cared for. Staff were helpful and always aroundin the main reception to help with any queries.
Review 9:apartment infested with ants, cold showers, very small, inadequate cooking facilities, lock on door very difficult to use, door had to be shouldered open because it was catching on the floor, door had to be lifted to lock. We ordered food from the pool bar and the burgers were under cooked. Staff were very unfriendly. I tried to complain but the night porter was half asleep and not interested.
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:Basic accommodation but all you need & cleaned every day!Facilities excellent - pool fab &staff excellent.Food good too. Nothing too much trouble . will def return.
Review 12:indoor pool not heated. no seating/loungers in indoor pool so had to put our things on the floor, but this was probably due to it being end of season.
Review 13:Spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen, polite reception staff, large bathroom, only stayed 1 night but would return again for longer. had a ground floor apartment (number 5) so we had nice terrace straight on to grassy area at back and close to pool too. stayed in late October so weather was warm but pool very cold!! enjoyed our stay. nice complex. we had a car so no problem getting around but its a bit far to walk to carvoeiro, taxis needed at night, and courtesy bus times limited.
Review 14:A little too far away from the village and beaches to walk if you were our ages so it was good that we had our hire car as we thought the courtesy bus was a little infrequent. We found it difficult to find Colina as there was a definite lack of direction to the village. Also did not like having to deposit toilet paper in a bin!!
Review 15:The pool, bar and restaurant were very good. The general layout of the place was pretty, neat and tidy. Staff were very pleasant.
Review 16:Single beds.
Review 17:Large apartment. Immaculately clean good bedding and towels. Furnished in Portuguese style I think - sofa not very comfortable. Also didn't like the 2 single beds - an option would beBetter. Good pool and tennis courts. Shop when we were there non existent. Feel you need a car as although an occasional shuttle is available and taxis it is out of town. Lovely area though
Review 18:The place in general is just overbuilt and crowded, obviously almost all around the southern Portuguese coast. It is not a place for a good rest at see for our taste. The colina village itself looks perfect in booking, but actually a lot of photoshop was applied for to achieve this effect. The place is old and smells on mould.
Review 19:There was a very very friendly, open, helpful, responsive person with great senese of humor at the reception.
Review 20:Quiet location, but easily accessible to the centre of the town, goodshuttle service, reasonable taxis prices 6-7 Euros you must visit Slideand Splash good value for the money and transport is available fromaccommodation
Review 21:Took a long time for service in the restaurant in the evening Drinks a bit expensive
Review 22:Very friendly and helpful people on reception Lovely pools Clean villas Efficient cleaners Good food and menu in restaurant Good coffee Will return
Review 23:The noise from the street The quality of the bed
Review 24:The location with the nice garden. The good cleaning. The friendly people who works there The good localization of the swimming pool: nice en quiet.
Review 25:The pool can get a bit crowded at times.
Review 26:The staff were very friendly with a good maid service. Apartments comfortable and the kitchens well kitted out for home cooking.

Review 29:The bed was really hard
Review 30:Really impressed with the standard of food in the restaurant at dinner, above our expectations based on the hotel star rating.
Review 31:Not very clean, bad wifi.
Review 32:Helpful staff, nice pool area.
Review 33:Rooms were large and empty hence noisy!
Review 34:Staff
Review 35:nothing! Already planning to book for next year
Review 36:very helpful friendly staff, beautiful pools, very clean & well maintained, courtessy bus service
Review 37:The wifi was limited the the office area, would be better if the wifi was all over the complex.
Review 38:The food was great and the service second to none.
Review 39:Everything. Been a few times and will go back again.
Review 40:Everything! We want to come back next year, beautiful places!
Review 41:poor breakfast and lack of entertainment in the evenings.
Review 42:very clean rooms, lovely grounds/gardens and very helpful staff
Review 43:The only thing we did not like was it is a little bit out from the beach and the courtesy bus only goes a few times a day . If i was to offer an opinion that may help would be to have a courtesy bus run throughout the day .
Review 44:The one bedroom apartement was very spacious and comfortable i love the fact that the cleaner came in every day . The Staff from front of house to pool side bar were very helpful and friendly . The pool area is very well kept and we enjoyed very much our 10 day holiday . We will definatley return to Colina Village.
Review 45:Only downside is that the village is not within walking distance of Carvoeiro or Lagoa. If you did walk into Carvoeiro it is on a quite dangerous road. However the village provides free transport into Carvoeiro 3 or 4 times a day and back. If you want a night out in Carvoeiro you'll need a taxi back and that costs around 5 euros. To get to the village without a car you need a taxi from Lagoa.
Review 46:The actual accommodation was a one level house not the usual campsite type bungalow I was expecting. Wonderful surprise. Large airy rooms with flat screen TV, large bath, fully equipped kitchen and outside terrace area. Swimming pool excellent. Restaurant excellent and value for money. Would definitely stay here again for longer.
Review 47:Grass was overgrown and didnt give a good first impression. Although apartments were spacious, they need a bit of TLC. Not very comfy sofas and furniture a bit dated - a shame really because a bit of paintwork and a few pictures and details here and there would make a big difference. Kitchen also a very good size but lacked a lot of basic cooking equipment and preparation space. A kettle would have been appreciated too. Fridge quite noisy continually but we got used to it.
Review 48:Good location although quite poorly signposted when looking for the first time. Very spacious apartments which were cleaned every day. Children enjoyed both swimming pools.
Review 49:Beds could be more comfortable, especially the pull out bed in the lounge. Bright light on air conditioning unit annoying at night.
Review 50:Very flexible check in and check out to accommodate early arrival and late departure. Nice pool with changing facilities. Well equipped for self catering. On site shop. Plenty of towels and bedding. Efficient air conditioning.
Review 51:a little bit far from town. they provided local bus to town but last bus was 5pm. could have used a later bus. no laundrette in these apartments, but found one in Carvoeiro so this was ok.
Review 52:Colina Village apartments were extremely clean and spacious. Rooms were cleaned every day. The staff were extremely friendly and were very happy to help with organising outings and local tours and providing information. They booked tables for us most nights as our party was so big. Nothing was a problem. Swimming pool (outside) was absolutely amazing - really big - loads of space and also loads of sun loungers. Tennis courts were good and not too busy. Very safe area. Very near to loads of beautiful beaches. Really enjoyed the reptile show while we were there in July. Went down great with the kids.
Review 53:Highly recommend had a wonderful time and we couldn't fault. I my wife, my 12 year old boy, 10 year old girl and 9 month baby absolutely loved it. We will be back here again sometime in the near future.
Review 54:Beds /mattresses were not that comfortable small tv ; should be moremodern and bigger needs more worktops in kitchen
Review 55:Nice, mature and well maintained gardens in a tranquil, peacefulsetting. Extremely pleasant staff overall who accomodated us verywarmly. Comfortable accomodation overall although the beds /mattresseswere not that comfortable. Spacious rooms and good on site facilitiesinc restaurant although our Kitchen could have had more worktop for selfcatering. Maid service very good ; they maintanied a high level focleanliness.Reception staff very kindly permitted us to stay longer on the departure day, to permit my 82 year old mum to be comfortable in her own room until departure / transfer pick up. A big PLUS ! Very good cleaning staff ; on site maintenance also very efficient. Overall a very pleasant stay. Thanks
Review 56:Furnishings bit shabby-rusty fridge/freezer, unpleasant couch andchair (which we kept covered), for example. Could not use wardrobecos damp smell. Indoor pool unheated & v cold. 6 Euros to play tennisfor an hour.
Review 57:Quiet. Inexpensive. Maids cleaned every day except Sunday. Clean towelsdaily. Big outdoor and indoor pools. Staff v nice- quickly replaced tvwhich wasn't working & fixed problem with shower.
Review 58:It was nearby for the sporting competition. /Gramacho/ The pool in the garden were super, and the staff too.
