Reviews for Lofts on Pearl
Review 1:Location,location,location. We had a great time in downtown Buffalo and will be back again. The Lofts are a very nice place to stay. The staff was very kind and helpful.
Review 2:The walls were very thin- I could hear everything from outside our unit-- people walking around, doors slamming, elevators dinging...The closet doors are also MUCH too large for the bedrooms-- it's impossible to open the closet and walk by the bed.
Review 3:I liked staying upstairs from the wedding venue.
Review 4:It was such a convenient location to the arena where the show we were attending was held. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast at the Pearl St Grill - the discounts were appreciated. We shared the loft with a couple of our friends, so you could not beat this price/accommodations. We will repeat our experience if and when we travel to Buffalo again.
Review 5:This hotel was beautiful. The units in Lofts on Pearl were formerly luxury apartments, so it had a full gourmet kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Location was perfect to walk to Harbor Center. We will be back!
Review 6:Central location - easy to find and transport links were easily accessed. Modern and comfortable facilities - including a full kitchen - in a nice renovated old factory building. Staff helpful, both in terms of hotel-related matters but also general advice. Would be good for a long, as well as a short, stay.
Review 7:Rooms are incredible value for the money, staff are fantastic and the restaurant is out of this world. Love staying here and will go out of my way to do so.
Review 8:The continental breakfast was a bit underwhelming, and inconvenient to have to "order" it while the workers are busy. Discount on paid offerings nice though. Parking is EXPENSIVE and it's a little crazy to me that we even have to pay for it at all - have never been to a hotel that doesn't offer complimentary parking to its own guests. Attempting to stream Netflix on the free wifi went from rough to not working at all. And not the hotel's fault, but downtown Buffalo is pretty eerie!
Review 9:It was a really lovely hotel overall, and a pretty decent value split between two couples staying in one 2-bedroom suite. Everything was clean and the staff at the front desk was very nice.
Review 10:What a cool hotel! Loved it! Walked to the Bison's game, and Canal Side/inner Harbor with ferry tomOuter Harbor...great location. Great breakfast!
Review 11:Breakfast didn't have a great variety (but we could have used our voucher towards $5 off other items at the deli). Staff at deli were not overly cheery.
Review 12:Great staff, beautiful building and amenities in the room!
Review 13:Pullout couch was very uncomfortable, continental breakfast was very disappointing and we were charged $20 per car (we had 4 cars, 12 ppl) to park in a parking lot owned by the hotel. Bathroom should've been cleaned before we got there, back splash was dirty.
Review 14:The building was aesthetically pleasing. The bedroom beds were fairly comfortable, pillows were comfortable. Bathroom linens were nice.
Review 15:There is nothing I didn't like, it is 30 minutes from the falls but it felt like a 15 min drive, its all highway and your there in no time.
Review 16:Everything! Staff told us that the lofts use to be apartments for rent which explains the set up. I have traveled plenty of times and this is definitely not your regular boring hotel. I felt like I was at home! (in a good way) very comfortable and quite, nice hard wood floos, fire place, not like your average hotels with the basic floor and basic bathrooms. The staff told us what was popular in the area and how to get there. Anyway, I would def. stay here again if I had to go Buffalo. Oh, and the breakfast thats included is actually really good.
Review 17:I would think on the weekends the noise ordinance could start later than 11:30
Review 18:Absolutely beautiful. Great place to stay. Can't wait for my next stay in July.
Review 19:Wish the parking had a little bit better set up. Had to do a bit of driving around to find somewhere that had overnight spots....
Review 20:This was a great location for the hockey game, canalside and other downtown activities. And a more than great place to hang out with loads of space....
Review 21:The hotel has no amenities. No gym, no bar, no anything other than the rooms. The single elevator is also very slow.
Review 22:The room was very spacious and could easily accommodate a family of four.
Review 23:The only downside is the kitchen have few to no pots and pans to cook with. Althought plenty of utensils and plates/cups, making meals was close to impossible.
Review 24:My boyfriend and I loved everything about this hotel. The staff was lovely and extremely helpful. The lofts are huge!
Review 25:I didn't like the late night party that was taking place in the room across from mine. Front desk staff was rude..couldn't be bothered to say "good morning" or "thank you for staying with us"..barely made eye contact with me. Very disappointing considering it was my wedding weekend.
Review 26:I liked the room..it was clean and spacious.
Review 27:I did not lke the act that my company was asked to leave at 10:30 I disnt like that she came to the room just to reienterate that my company had to leave. The tv was too small. No tv in bedrooms.
Review 28:I enjoyed the room its self the layout was good.. Felt like a home away from home.
Review 29:It had plenty of sleeping space but not enough bathroom space! Six people were vying for one shower! Not handicap friendly. Need access to food/beverages. Nothing nearby.
Review 30:The lofts were comfortable and spacious and a great place to stay with family. Comfortable and clean.
Review 31:I parked in a private lot next door for $10. The next morning when we were leaving a parking attendant said I owed him another $10. I was parked there for less than 24hrs and even asked the 1st attendant if I would be ok overnight. Not the hotels fault-next time I would just park in their lot
Review 32:Unique place to stay with lots of room!
Review 33:KItchens could use some refurbishing. Counters are showing wear. Onebedroom door was off it's hinge. Nothing organic to eat, thus the pretty breakfast was not an option for us. Also, as a buffet on Thanksgiving morning a cup of tea would have been appreciated as we are not coffee drinkers.
Review 34:Fireplace
Review 35:Parking $20 a day - no valet, lot right next door charges $5. Coffee maker in room, one of those little 2 cup hotel room units. Loft was sparsely furnished. Small couch and two arm chairs. One desk and one small round table. No TV's in the bedrooms, just one unit in the living room. Wi-Fi would drop once two or more devices were connected, breakfast is continental - you get a credit towards purchase of breakfast for the voucher but for a family of 4 you are still spending an extra $20. Breakfast was in a bar you had to walk to, often smelled of ammonia as they were cleaning up from business the night before. Average quality food. Very noisy on Friday night. Did not stay on a Saturday night.
Review 36:The extra room. Travelling with two children 12 and 10, for one week it is nice to have extra space. If travelling in the winter - it definitely gets warm enough for a loft apartment. The kitchen is nice and big to prepare your own meals. The space is worth it if it is a priority. Cleaning service did a nice job cleaning. The one daytime manager was very nice.
Review 37:Booked the loft with a group of friends to attend a Sabres/Leafs game. Location was awesome (5-10 minute walk to arena). We thought that maybe the photos posted showed the best suite at Lofts on Pearl and that we would end up with something that wasn't as nice, but it was exactly what the photos showed - none of us had ever stayed at such a neat place. The staff was super helpful and pleasant. Continental breakfast is included, or you can get a discount when you order from the menu at the pub affiliated with the hotel (it is about a 30 second walk from the hotel). We ordered off of the breakfast menu - the value was amazing. We would have loved to eat dinner there before we went to the game but it was very busy... I'd recommend making a reservation if eating before a hockey game. I'm not one to write reviews but I would totally go back and want to recommend this hotel to others. :)
Review 38:The price, a little steep at $278/night, but worth it for what we were there for.
Review 39:The loft was very spacious. It had all amenities needed for a prolonged stay.
Review 40:Paying for parking still :(
Review 41:We were shocked walking into our rooms. Beautiful layout from kitchen to the huge rooms with additional space to hang out with our friends. Definitely the way to spend the night across the border!
Review 42:I would absolutely recommend staying at the lofts over a hotel! A group of four of us stayed in a two bedroom loft and there was so much room. The loft was clean, lot's of space, beautiful, and a really good price!
Review 43:The continental breakfast was a bit of a surprise. The location was nice, but the limited choice meant an early lunch for our hungry bellies.
Review 44:We spent a night at the Lofts on Pearl after a fun day out shopping. It was so great to kick back in such an ambient and spacious room. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. Reception was warm and welcoming.
Review 45:The hotel could use a parking spot out front to drop off, check in etc, there is parking around but I would like to get into the hotel and get recommendations before committing.
Review 46:Roomy with easy access to great Brew Pub restaurant and breakfast deli
Review 47:However, the rooms lacked any art, and the living room area needed a coffee table, lamps and at least another chair. The kitchen also was not fully equipped with sufficient plate ware, utensils, pans, etc to make it fully functional. No working stopper for soaking in big tub & shower door system needed to be caulked to the tub to stop water leaking onto floor.
Review 48:The size and configuration of space in the apt was very good, and beds VERY comfortable.
Review 49:Everything :) Very comfortable place to stay for a group of people - clean, nice staff, working wifi. I only wish there was more to do around Buffalo :)
Review 50:Kitchen had no pots/pans/dishes or cutlery - basic items like this should be provided or at least procurable at the front desk by those who need it (we didn't) Walls are thin - noise levels dependent on whom your neighbours are. This was only a very transient & minor issue. Breakfast was truly abominable - poor quality weak coffee, edible but not fresh bagel (muffins not available when we were there) & fruit of the day was a hard Granny Smith apple...all in the charming ambiance of a dark basement. It's easy enough to find one's own breakfast - don't let this dissuade you from staying here, or from enjoying the delightful food at the Pearl St Pub above ground.
Review 51:Very spacious loft style apartment with a full kitchen & exposed brick, with separate bedrooms made for a nice change vs a typical hotel room for the same price. Beds were comfortable. Having a fridge & freezer with ice made grocery shopping & stocking our cooler easier. The Pearl St Pub next door had quite decent dining options.
Review 52:The sound echos and you couldn't open the closet doors ---they were blocked by the beds
Review 53:I liked the size of the loft and the fact that we could accommodate a family group. We could all associate together rather than three separate rooms like in a regular hotel.
Review 54:The loft space was huge, with a great kitchen , large bedrooms and living / dining room. Nice bathrooms and quiet environment. Walking distance to the lakefront and downtown. Restaurant steps away.
Review 55:Seems to be a popular venue for weddings - we experienced some noise at night while trying to sleep One of the windows in the living room whistled loudly because of the wind - disrupted sleep. We fixed it (somewhat) by stuffing a towel into the window frame
Review 56:modern decor nice tv and internet extremely helpful staff clean comfortable beds Pearl Street Brewery just steps away lots of parking on street and in lots that a very close
Review 57:Spacious living and sleeping spaces. Nicely designed and decorated. Great attention to small details that made the stay comfortable. Customer service was great - all the staff we met went to great lengths to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was well equiped and the standard overall is excellent.
Review 58:Not really an issue but just to let you know, to access the breakfast you must go outside and downstairs in a separate building.
Review 59:We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was much larger than we expected. It was the size of a city apartment and had a fully equipped kitchen (dishes, dishwasher, fridge, stove). The bed was extremely comfy and I enjoyed the fireplace in the living room that is turned on with a switch :) Extraordinary value!
Review 60:Wifi not the greatest...constantly cut in and out. But this does not impact the rating.....would definitely stay again.
Review 61:Loved the place. Shame Buffalo rolls up the sidewalks at night and closes down. Beautiful city with incredible architecture. Great brewery next door 'Pearl Street Brewery' Close to all buffalo shopping....better than staying at your run of the mill hotel.
Review 62:The noise of running water at 5am in our bedroom woke us up. Our bedroom was situated near our own bathroom but the noise was coming from the room above us. Running water of a shower sounded like it was right in our own room.
Review 63:Rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and a nice kitchen. Very clean accommodations.
Review 64:Perhaps the walk to breakfast on a rainy day but we didn't have one
Review 65:We liked everything about this place. location adjacent Ice Hockey, Baseball and station. Easy access by car Appartment size and qualiy of facilities
Review 66:We loved how spacious our room felt. Would absolutely stay here again! We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, we had our 5 year old and our 2 month old with us.
Review 67:We arrived at 10:30pm...the restaurant/bar next door stopped serving food at 10. There wasn't anything else within walking distance so we had to order pizza. Not much around at night.
Review 68:The suite was great...so nice to have separate rooms...like being at home. We were only there for one night, but the kitchen facilities would be great for an extended stay.
Review 69:Lobby and entrance, breakfast.
Review 70:The lobby and reception was't much, but we had a large 2 bedroom apartment in a beautifully recycled loft building, central to all historic landmarks. The room was great, very good value, charming exposed brick walls, even a fireplace!
Review 71:the only thing that I did not like was the parking arrangements. I think that $20 was high to park. I think the price should be lowered to $5 to $10.. At the $20 price I believe our vehicle should have been valeted.
Review 72:Facilities were awesome, we did not feel like we were in hotel at all. Patrick the clerk was extremely accommodating and made us feel like we were old and dear friends. \We also ;liked that although not all natural the shampoos and soap were closer than most motels to being natural. . I am a distributor of products that are all natural 100% organic. I believe that I could introduce our products at a reasonable rate which would include your logo and business info on the packaging.
Review 73:Continental breakfast was less than satisfactory. Ended up spending money anyway on other breakfast items ($5 off regular price).
Review 74:Location, huge room, excellent staff
Review 75:i was upset by how the receptionist called me 3am just to bother asking me if my place was like a tornado,( i was with a group of friends) first of all they have my credit card information so if anything happens to the room they can just charge it to me. and it was upsetting when i left the place almost looking like it was not occupied. telling me i was banned and cannot rent in the property anymore and that the money i paid for the night of stay is not deserving for their place. that was a first time for someone to question me about the amount of $$$ i spend in a hotel room. really unnecessary!!!
Review 76:the room is so spacious in a very nice area downtown. they also have wifi which is a plus. it was very clean and organized!!!
Review 77:Great place, very spacious, easily took my family of 6. Very friendly staff as well. This is my second stay there and next time I'm in Buffalo it will be my first choice. Prices went up a little bit but still good value for money.
Review 78:WiFi area didn't cover all apartment. Kids were sitting in a kitchen to have coverage. Mentioned it to staff, assured me that they will fix it. I have no doubt they will, since it is so easy to fix.
Review 79:Great view from the apartment on a fifth floor, south west corner, large space, comfortable beds, full kitchen. Staff was very helpful, explained everything clearly, gave recommendations, brought extra towels and pillows. Breakfast was served in a deli next door that belongs to same company as hotel, we had a choice of prepared menu or 5$ credit per person towards anything of our choice. It was a good deal. Parking on a street free up to 8am next day, later parkometer or parking lot next door that was affordable 8$ a day.
Review 80:The cleaning service needs to pay more attention to detail when cleaning. It was not dirty but I really don't want to find other peoples hair in the bathroom.
Review 81:The room was spacious but could use a bit more in the way of making it feel more warm and homey.
Review 82:Staff could have been friendlier and hate to pay for parking overnight.
Review 83:Everyone in the group loved the bedrooms and the overall style of the room. Also liked the complimentary breakfast.
Review 84:Loved the location downtown. Loved the fireplace. Full kitchen Comfortable bedrooms Great spots to sleep the kids Nice continental breakfast at the deli The ambiance NIce design
Review 85:Breakfast was good but the staff was overwhelmed.
Review 86:Keani was so helpful giving us directions and getting us checked in. She guided us with parking. We had no problem parking on the street but it was a Sunday and you can park on the street until 8 AM Monday. The Tavern on the corner was also charming.
Review 87:Parking is expensive
Review 88:Fantastic apartment with two separate bed rooms, great kitchen. They have been able to keep certain details in the room from the old industrial building creating a warm atmosphere. Nice fire place (gas) in the room. Restaurant next door has a fantastic elevated terrace where you can sit in the sun at the end of the day!
Review 89:can't really complain about anything to be honest. we had six people in our sweet, and were comfortable.
Review 90:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suite is like having your own very nice apartment instead of a hotel room. It was a very nice experience.
Review 91:Bathroom door did not lock and sofa bed was not very comfortable.
Review 92:Clean, spacious apartment with beautiful kitchen. Excellent location, and the breakfast was superb.
Review 93:Mildly odd smell in the hallways. Wifi is spotty, at best.
Review 94:This hotel is not for people who want all the bells and whistles you find at chain hotels. But the rooms were large, functional and clean, and the set up worked well for our family. It is walking distance to all of downtown - about a minute from Coca Cola Fields. We parked right next door for <$10 a day and rarely moved the car. We would stay here again.
Review 95:breakfast was in a great little deli restaurant in basement of pub next door. Poor service due to inadequate staff.
Review 96:Location, premises, comfort, cleanliness, privacy, Wi-Fi, amenities
Review 97:Having to leave!
Review 98:This hotel was amazing. Anytime we are back in Buffalo we will definitely stay here! The room was amazing, comfortable, clean, and enormous!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about our room.
Review 99:I just didnt like the feeling not to have such a stylish apartment like that :(
Review 100:It was with one word: AMAZING!!! If i ever go again, definitely stay there... True stylish hotel with maximum comfort with reasonable prices... And... I just wish i had an apartment like that...
Review 101:The pull out bed in the living room needed more bedding. There was not a quilt/comforter in the closet for this sleeping arrangement. Unfortunately it was very late when we returned and we did not ask the front desk for more bedding - I am sure they would have done something.
Review 102:We liked the spacious living space and the loft feel. It was comfortable and the bedrooms were cozy.
Review 103:The 2 bedrooms suite only has one bath, so if 6 people are planing to stay add overhead of getting ready in trip itinerary. But overall rooms wer fun.
Review 104:Location, Staff, Feel of the placeis more like exclusive rather than just rooms, Its grand pub, more then hotel its a grand party place in Buffalo. While driving from chicago, on my gps exit all 6 members wer looking at one building and when I read its name it was the hotel i booked. Free Breakfast options if you dont like what we searv 5$ for each person towards any restaurant order you want to eat.
Review 105:The Wi-Fi was intermittent and a little frustrating at times.
Review 106:It was really nice to have some space to move around in. Since our primary objective was to see a couple of Bison ball games the location was perfect.
Review 107:The kitchen could have used a couple of bar stools as we ended up standing up at the counter chatting.
Review 108:I loved the convenience of the Grill and Deli next door and the inclusion of breakfast and/or discounted breakfast was great. Staff were amazing and friendly as well.
Review 109:Wouldn't use the parking from the hotel. Not easy to get to. I would pay for the pay lot right next door or right across the street much more convenient for about the same price.
Review 110:We had a very warm greeting by the front desk. They upgraded us to the top floor. Nice views over the other buildings. Highly recommended if you are going to the Niagara Centre. Short 10 minute walk to the venue. Bar type restaurant next door which is convenient.
Review 111:It was a bit noisy at times. We could hear other people through our walls and everything creaked.
Review 112:The price is comparable to other places in the area and has a better location for what we wanted to do.
Review 113:The location is very good, in the center of Buffalo city. It takes few minutes walking to the riverbank. The apartment is perfect. Room is big enough and full kitchen is quite good. The best thing is the breakfast, tasting delicious, with $5 coupon per person. There are different kinds of foods for you to choose.
Review 114:Couldn't open window
Review 115:The room was great. Location perfect for Hockey game. Very satisfied.
Review 116:No smoking rooms available
Review 117:Design and space
Review 118:Excellent service, excelent room. All was incredible.
Review 119:Staff was racist
Review 120:Nothing
Review 121:Very unique place to stay.
Review 122:Beds aren't that comfortable.
Review 123:Friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. Beautiful rooms. Good location. Great cable and wifi!
Review 124:No vending no honor bar should have one
Review 125:Space
Review 126:The WiFi was pretty chopping and slow
Review 127:Loved the spaciousness of the Loft and the staff was awesome!!
Review 128:Great location, great room - was like our own apartment
Review 129:Great place with a lot of space for a family of four. Cool industrial loft design. Very friendly service with good recommondations.
Review 130:Complementary breakfast a little too basic
Review 131:Wonderful room
