Reviews for Grand Hotel en Résidence De Draak
Review 1:Car park is a few hundred meters away and very small Hotel restaurant is somewhat oldfashioned in service
Review 2:Wonderfull situated Very characteristic Nice modern room and bathroom Great breakfast
Review 3:Though we anticipated on it, there was quite some noise from the bars Saturday evening. Breakfast is not included; 15 euros per person which is a bit expensive so we didn't ask for this option
Review 4:the location of the hotel was fantastic, right in the middle of the town. Ice-skating ring, restaurants, bars are just a step away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, very sweet with the children. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good wifi reception and it was free. Absolutely lovely hotel.
Review 5:Pillows were too thick to sleep comfortable for the neck. Rooms are renovated with modern style but some are missed yet. Breakfast is good but found the area small and expensive.
Review 6:Rooms are quite Most of them have modern style Staff are nice Nice location at the square
Review 7:I stay in Bergen op Zoom regularly and this is the first time that I stayed at the Draak. The location is perfect as it is on the Grote Markt. Didn't feel as luxurious as I built it up to be given the premium price tag for the town
Review 8:Furniture in the room was dated and NOT antique. Breakfast (except the choice and quality of the fruit juices) rather poor.
Review 9:Fantastic location! Beautiful building. Very quiet. Free Wi-Fi.
Review 10:Because of the noise of surrounding bar(s) no sleep. Got out of bed at 3 at night to get eat plugs at front desk but not available. They told me the music would continue until 4 o'clock. Got apologies and a discount but we were also told we could have expected this because they're located in city centre and maybe next time we should mention we like a 'quiet' room (...)
Review 11:Great rooms and nice location
Review 12:The room was too hot and stuffy. The cleaner did not make up the room on our second day. There were no bathrobes.
Review 13:The sauna was wonderful. The location was perfect. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Review 14:Parking behind quickly accessible by foot but by car you need to do a detour
Review 15:Excellent location in the heart of Bergen op zoom, the hotel had a lot of character (and one of the most ancient hotels in Holland); nice and modern room; the wellness was spectacular (!!) offering water and smoothies
Review 16:Not really accessible for cars. Parking is located 100 m from the desk at a separate wing of the hotel. Couldn't find real butter for breakfast.
Review 17:Attractive hotel with character. Great location at the market place.
Review 18:The bed was too soft which is not good for the back. The hotel should provide for bathrobes and shoes for the wellness area.
Review 19:The hotel is extremely cosy and well decorated. The city is charming. The wellness and fitness area despite small are very nice, well decorated and offers refreshments. Excellent restaurant!
Review 20:The hotel restaurant is pretty expensive, but there are plenty of places eat and very close to the hotel.
Review 21:Perfect location in the center of Bergen op Zoom, wellness is wonderful. Breakfasts are delicious. Hotel staff is very good. Ideal for business stay.
Review 22:The wellness area is nice, but quite limited in options. The WiFi is free but rather slow (for hotel standards)
Review 23:The room was nice, comfortable and recently renovated. The location of the hotel is excellent: it is situated in buildings surrounding the historical central square of the city.
Review 24:The room was a very pretty and spacious garret-style accommodation. The restaurant served excellent food and wines. Right in the market square with secure parking.
Review 25:Shower curtain in room 504 would have helped.
Review 26:Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Extensive breakfast selection Secure cycle parking Location, location, location!
Review 27:the car parking entry is quite difficult... and you need to be careful to not scratch your car
Review 28:nice design very large room large bathroom with a large window to get the sun light
Review 29:The parking arrangement works well if you know what to do! Initial instructions from the receptionist were excellent, but having parked we found ourselves locked out of the building through which you have to go to gain access to the square. The young lady who came to rescue us was a little bit sneery as if we were not quite all there...
Review 30:Décor was brilliant - modern but sympathetic to the centuries' old building.
Review 31:The view from window & comfortable bed are only topped by the friendly staff. The central location is perfect with cafes & restaurants metres away if you are staying a number of nights & want options.
Review 32:Breakfast was not to a standard I would expect in this hotel. The price was 14.95 euros. Yoghurt - one choice only from a Shared bowl. All Jams from Shared bowl rather than seperate hygenic options. Hot food was almost finished and on asking for some scrambled egg to be refilled - it appeared I was asking for too much. Would stay again but would not bother with breakfast in the hotel.
Review 33:Deluxe room was very big with huge bathroom, clean and beds were very comfortable. Didn't use but having an Iron and Ironing board was a bonus.
Review 34:Noisy (people outside), room was cold when we arrived, we asked for a double bed but got a twin bed.
Review 35:Nicely furnished rooms, late check out, top notch location (main square), good parking facities.
Review 36:Only drawback to the hotel is the parking, such a tight fit for getting in and out if you have a midsize vehicle otherwise very secure area an never a worry otherwise.
Review 37:Everything about this hotel was excellent; great location with fabulous restaurants within a 2 minute walk. The art work and history of the hotel is amazing plus the room was very comfortable, the bed and bedding was delightful, and plenty of toiletries and hot water especially after a cold day sightseeing. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of options even for the picky eater. Loved the staff, they met every need we had and made us feel very welcome. The attached Hemingway restaurant was elegant and very delicious.
Review 38:. Only thing not to like was cost of breakfast at €15.00 per head
Review 39:. Excellent location on towns main square . High end spec bedroom and bathroom . Quiet room and extremely comfortable bed
Review 40:You may be clearly aware that you booked a non-smoking room, yet you find no smoking warnings and reminders everywhere in the room. One outside the room, several on the table, a few in the cabinet and most importantly, one on top of the bed. Thank you for the gentle reminders but we got the point.
Review 41:The fact that the hotel infrastructure literally reflects its history as the oldest hotel in the country. Very elegant, comfortable, and in a great location.
Review 42:They have spent a lot of money and have done a wonderful job on the hotel except for one very irritable thing. The floor above is very thin. A person with leather heels woke us up two mornings in a row walking around the room in what sounded like very high heels.
Review 43:No tea making facilities in the room. The semi open shower flooded the bathroom floor, I had to mop it dry with a bath towel.
Review 44:The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. I especially liked the wine option whereby the glass of wine was matched to the food for each course.
Review 45:The room was very warm, and the air conditioner did little to cool it down
Review 46:The appearance of the hotel is amazing. The staff we were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, modern and comfortable. Modern bathroom. Very nice breakfast buffet. Fantastic Location
Review 47:- we´ve been charged 14 EUR without warning for a breakfast for 2 years old kid what I personaly find more than rude! Travel a lot, but never experienced such an attitude. - Breakfast was not that cozy for the price they charge - spa well hidden, no signs, impossible to find - full of old people - odd reactions to presence of a kid One day before we stayed at Standton hotel Reylof in Gent, Belgium and it was a really luxurious, cozy hotel a category higher than this one. But they were so friendly to our son! He was treated like honored guest, served and pampered by staff members. Everyone from the stuff was totally relaxed, friendly and comfortable. Here in this hotel You can really spot the cold, professional attitude and it feels like you are bothering there a bit.
Review 48:- right at the main square - comfortable sleep, big bed
Review 49:Some rooms up and down stairs so not easy with mobility problems.
Review 50:Spacious room, very comfortable bed. Wi-fi in room. Pleasant staff. Car park close by.
Review 51:Dirty floors in the room and bathroom, uncapable staff at the reception desk, at the booking they didn't mention that we were not staying in then main building. Instead we stayed at a much less attractive building (for the same rate).
Review 52:Central location, the breakfast
Review 53:They do not have a clue what lactose free means: the only thing they came up with was lactose free bread, whereas the rest of the breakfast was the same as usual (i.e. lactose suspicious).
Review 54:breakfast was very disappointing, and everything had run out. problem with water drainage in bathroom.
Review 55:very comfortable bed wellness suite excellent staff
Review 56:Two building in front of each other(one has no reception)
Review 57:The hotel provides a secured car parking Free wifi Large bathroom View on the grote market square
Review 58:Welness is only open at the evening The junior suit was actually really old. Some details in the room ( painting, smoke defector was removed but wasn't painted where he was) Old carpet
Review 59:Nice Welness space
Review 60:couldn't sleep with windows open, because of some sort of a night club close by, earplugs essential! wi-fi was very slow
Review 61:great location on the main square, lovely, old, but stylish hotel, excellent food in the restaurant, good breakfast buffet, nice terrace overlooking the main town square, very friendly staff, wi-fi free of charge, secure private parking close by
Review 62:was pity the restaurant was fully booked....
Review 63:we arrived and had a warm welcome, the room was great and the manager solved very well our problem with the paint smell, we got a up grade room.
Review 64:This is very personal but since it's summertime and quite warm I always like a sheet to pull over me instead of the duvet that was a bit too warm. So adding a sheet to the beds would be nice.
Review 65:Having a poor back I particularly liked the quality of the beds, very good and very wide.
Review 66:we could not accept the first room as it hat no bath tub (which was confirmed in our reservation). We also had to reject the second room as it was under the roof and had no airconditioning (temperature was also hitting the roof) and was pretty dusty. Finally after insiting we got a good, clean, nice room with bath tub (as ordered) and air conditioning (as ordered). So they should adjust their room descriptions on booking.com
Review 67:very kind, friendly and helpfull staff very central place. private parking pretty close
Review 68:I stayed in an annex away from the main hotel building the annex had very limited facilties and during inclement weather was inconvenient
