Reviews for Hotel Concordia

Review 1:Rooms were very small and stuffy, we had to sleep with windows cracked in 20 degree weather which got really noisy very early in the morning and late at night.

Review 2:Location was great! Staff was very pleasant. The bathroom was almost as large as the room..with a tub and very modern decor!

Review 3:Considering its location, there is probably no quiet room in this hotel - ours was overlooking the street which is full of chatting tourists till late night. This is understandable, but the thing I minded is that our room was right next to staff offices and staff liked to chat pretty loudly in the corridor pretty early in the morning. Bed not overly comfortable.

Review 4:Amazing location very convenient for exploring Venice on foot and for catching a water bus to the airport. Wonderful views from the restaurant. Helpful lovely staff, ok breakfast. Common areas are very comfortable. Also close to some good restaurants.

Review 5:We had a view of Basilica from our room and St Marks Square was only metres from hotel. The area is lively and within walking distance of good restaurants, vaporetta and top sights

Review 6:Pillows were a bit tough and close location to clock tower makes you wake up at each gong :)

Review 7:Staff were so nice and helpful, despite I travel a lot, I have never been treated so kindly and friendly! I had some inflammation on my toe and asked for salt to make bathroom for my feet. They brought almost half kilo of salt and the guy (forgot to ask his name) asked me if I need to send somebody to pharmacy. :) At night it was a bit cold (we travelled in late December), and I asked for extra blankets. Next day I discovered extra blankets were available at chest of drawers, and I felt pleased they did not say that I should look for blankets in the room, they just brought new blankets in the middle of the night. Location could not be better, you are taking breakfast by looking at Basilico de San Marco :) Very clean and tidy.

Review 8:Fantastic location with room overlooking the Basilica. Friendly, welcoming staff upon arrival late in the evening and for the duration of our stay. A wonderful base for exploring the beautiful city of Venice.

Review 9:The location could'nt be better; service was courteous, helpful and efficient: from the bell man to the reception desk, including the restaurant staff. Would not hesitate to recomend! Hoping to go back....

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:We had our room upgraded and we can see St. Marco from our window, the room was big with comfortable bed. The staff are very helpful and nice. The location is just next to st. Marco.

Review 12:The location was good to be on piazza San Marco bit it was totally overrun by huge tour groups. The bed was very hard and the mattress sagged in the middle. My niece stayed there the week before. She prepaid to have a bottle of Prosecco in room 221 for our son, who just got engaged in Florence. The hotel did not provide the wine she paid for. The food at dinner was very over salted.

Review 13:The decor of the rooms. The buffet breakfast. The helpfulness of the staff.

Review 14:Super location, with balcony overlooking St Marks Square. Super service. Very attractive decor and furnishing. Comfortable lounge with international newspapers a bonus. First class hotel.

Review 15:Nothing that wouldn't make me stay there again. There was some noise from the streets in the morning but that's to be expected in a city.

Review 16:The staff was amazing - very friendly and knowledgable. The location couldn't be more central in San Marco which was fantastic for first time visitors.

Review 17:Nothing. Only slight point would be that due to time of the year (October) the air conditioning was turned off in the hotel and the hotel/room was quite hot and with the windows open at night let Mosquitos in. But all manageable.

Review 18:Fantastic location. Staff very friendly. Hotel clean and breakfast was good.

Review 19:I don't believe there was anything we didnt like about our stay there.

Review 20:The location was perfect right next to St Marco's Square and central Venice. The facilities were what we expected in as much as period and style. The place was highly recommended to us by friends who stayed a year ago and we would certainly recommend it to those who want a real Venice experience in style and comfort.

Review 21:The hotel is beautifully situated for St Marks Square. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, they were just fantastic! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We have previously stayed at The Carlton and The Concordia was so much better in every way!

Review 22:There was really nothing we didn't like.

Review 23:The location, overlooking St marks square, was perfect for us. It meant we could walk to all the main attractions from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 24:The hotel interior was dated and the furnishing, carpets and paintwork could do with an update. No tea or coffee facilities in room.

Review 25:The best thing about this hotel was the location which is why we chose to stay one night. We were provided with a room with a view.

Review 26:Nothing not to like. Carpeting in hallways is a bit tired and could use An update otherwise perfect.

Review 27:Location location location! My second visit to this charming little Hotel with views of Piazza San Marco. Happy to mention I booked a double Superior room and was upgraded to A small suite.

Review 28:It was very close to St. Marks square. Lots of shops and restaurants near by. Breakfast was excellent. Had to catch an early flight, or would have lingered for hours over the warm chocolate croissants! Room was very spacious , bed very comfy. Staff was fantastic.

Review 29:The advice given at the desk was that tipping wasn't necessary, but that if you experience excellent service, you might tip between one and five euros. Yet, when we tipped the bellhop for bringing our bags to the room, he looked angry. At that point, we didn't know what to do and tipped five euros for further service. We were rather dismayed.

Review 30:The friendly and helpful staff.

Review 31:only thing that was not good was the poor bathroom lighting, needed a light over the mirror so you could put your make up on, just had downlighters which cast shadows

Review 32:staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, breakfast good , although could of varied the hot selection from day to day

Review 33:Not what was expected from the price we paid. The pictures shown on your sight were over glamorised. The breakfast was terrible even had to pay extra for simple things like a fried or poached egg.

Review 34:Only the location

Review 35:a little bit of smell in the room, but then many places in Venice have that

Review 36:location - right on St. Marc square, next to the basilica. Great breakfast.

Review 37:Venice was a special occasion holiday for myself and my wife. The hotel staff where truly excellent and couldn't do enough to assist. Location is the best in town, with a bedroom view over St Mark's Sq.

Review 38:Superior double room on arrival was a little dated, reception quickly changed us to a more satisfactory room. No tea / coffee facilities in bedroom.

Review 39:Reception staff helpfull, location excellent, breakfast very good.Managers compliments of a bottle of champagne for our wedding aniversary.

Review 40:Some noise from the streets, especially when the restaurants close.

Review 41:Amazing location, very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room decorated to match the city of Venice.

Review 42:As we entered the hotel tired after the long journey, we were disappointed with the reception service and their remarks. There were no welcome drinks given as mentioned in their website. The reception lady said we were expecting only 4 people, whereas we had clearly mentioned the number of children and their ages when we made the booking and in fact we had received an email saying we need to book 2 double rooms, hence we had booked 2 double rooms. They kept insisting that we put an extra bed in the room and extra payment. Our children ages were 18,16 and 11. We had booked 2 standard rooms and had asked for inter-connecting, but they replied saying we had to pay extra as there were only superior rooms for inter-connecting rooms so we agreed to settle for 2 standard double rooms. They also said we have to pay extra for the child who was 11. However, when we were checking out, there was another lady at the reception and she just told me to pay the city tax only. The rooms were dark and had old furnishings. I would not call it 4 stars.

Review 43:Location was good as it is in the heart of San Marco. We checked out early and were able to keep our luggage in their luggage compartment so that we could pick it up later.

Review 44:Our stay was fabulous! The staff made us feel like we were their only guests at the hotel. I would stay there again for sure. Thanks Hotel Concordia.Keep up the great work.

Review 45:Waking up to bites all over our legs. Called the manager and showed her our legs! She assured us they do extra cleaning for these issues, but the fact is we sent a picture to our Dr. and he said those are bed bugs. Then she tried to say we got them the night before. We stayed at her hotel the night before as well!!!! The walls and ceilings are paper thin and the family above us keep us awake all night the first night!! Over all the worse stay I have ever had in Venice!!!!

Review 46:Great Location!!! Some of our rooms had a great view of Piazza San Marco. Breakfast is amazing!!! Eggs, bacon and the best rolls we had on our trip.

Review 47:No choice in breakfast for vegetarians. Rooms didn't have coffee maker and it was bit inconvenient to call for hot water all the time.

Review 48:Staff was friendly. Location was amazing

Review 49:No negatived

Review 50:The hotel is in a marvelous location-one block from Piazza San Marco and is easily reached with a water taxi.Old world charm with modern plumbing and air conditioning ;friendly helpful ith staff .Immaculately maintained ;excellent full breakfast with excellent service

Review 51:We didn't like that you have to walk up a floor to get to the main reception level and where the elevator starts. The staff did handle our luggage but if you have mobility problems going up and down stairs this is a problem. The room we had was over the street (alley) behind the square which has lots of stores and outdoor restaurants so if you want an early night's sleep it's quite noisy. Also the workers start shouting to each other in the alley when they are setting up very early in the morning.

Review 52:We liked that it was right on St. Mark's Square because it was our first visit to Venice and we didn't have a lot of time so wanted to be close to everything.

Review 53:The hotel is in desperate need of an overhaul. Carpet is disgusting - the carpet on the floor AND on the walls (a strange enough phenomenon.) We didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot in our room. The decor is old - matching wallpaper, comforter, and curtains? Felt dirty all around. Won't even mention the odd smell...

Review 54:The location was amazing. Right by St. Mark's and on a fun street with shopping and restaurants. Noise was not an issue. Good customer service. Breakfast was substantial.

Review 55:Although the restaurant food was beautiful and room service was efficient, the menu had no simple or smaller items for children, so it was a bit awkward getting suitable food for my 4 year old. I was surprised by this. Also there was no menu in the room, it had to be brought up. Perhaps a small bottle of red wine by the mini-bar would also have been pleasant .

Review 56:The staff are lovely, and the doorman lay was very welcoming. The bedroom/bathroom was very comfortable and clean. The safe was easy and mini-bar nicely stocked. The restaurant food was gorgeous. Laundry and chambermaid all good. Wifi also very good indeed.

Review 57:The hotel is like small luxury boutique lodging. Unless you spend several hundred dollars a night all accommodations are moderately sized. We've been to Venice three times and this was by far the best value. The staff could not have been nicer or more professional. Excellent experience. Short stroll to San Marco square and all great shops.

Review 58:Very attentive staff. Celebrated a special birthday during the stay and the hotel were kind enough to recognise with a complimentary bottle of prosecco.

Review 59:Morning bells were bit too loud at 4~5am.. couldn't sleep much Had to leave room keys at the reception every time we went out

Review 60:close to all attractions

Review 61:Paid more than twice when compared to other 4-star hotels but did not worth at all!. Reserved 4 days but had to cancel 2 days. Rooms are not like seen in photos!. Internet was disaster. It was once in a while working and then being disconnected. Sorry to have spent 2 days there.

Review 62:Rooms was to hot - if we opened the window it was too noisy. Air-con was not turned on yet.

Review 63:This hotel is very centrally located. We had a room overlooking St. Mark's square on the side.

Review 64:Our room was on the first floor and street side so a little noisy with no privacy. Ask for an upper room if possible !

Review 65:The hotel was very central and overlooked Piazza San Marco. Our room was relatively large and decorated in typical Venetian baroque style which set the scene for our short stay in Venice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast, included in the price, sumptuous and tasty.

Review 66:Fabulous location - great atmosphere in this area - step outside and you are in St Mark's Square. Staff couldn't have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had great choice and very relaxed. Rooms full of character.

Review 67:We told tthemfrom the booking.com site), that we were on honeymoon.it was not the first time we visit venice, and our point was, after a trip to belgium, and holland to finish our trip with a romantic room with a view to st marco square....but instead of this we were given a very small room, at the back with no view at all, very very noisy (we almosr learn chineese)...the stuff at yhe reception was very nice allthough they gave us the impression that all they cared was if we would take the excursion they ""offeted""to us (free transfer to murano island but of course just to buy any murano glasses e.tc).we were so dissapointed that we didnt want even touch the bottle of wine we found at our room at the decond day of our stay.... (it would be better to find it at the beginning as a welcome drink).. Finally the only thing we liked was just the location! Definately not worthed the money ee spent......

Review 68:Just the location, in the heart of venice!

Review 69:The Superior room booked was a disappointment and small compared to the photos. No coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 70:The location was fantastic and the staff were excellent they couldn't do enough for you. Brilliant.

Review 71:Actually some people might find this not to their liking but I (ie me 70 year old) loved it. During novemberish to februaryish about every 3 weeks the tide can flood the square! The warning sounds at 4am which gives you time to get up and take brilliant photographs with light reflections, etc. The local authorities set up boards to walk on until tide abates."Looky Looky" men and local shops sell overshoe plastic garments so you can paddle. Very cool!

Review 72:We liked closeness of hotel to St Mark's Square (our room overlooked it from cathedral end) and two minute walk from gondolas and Dogge's Palace. The room had beautiful fittings and bathroom had bidet and walk in shower. Reception could not be more helpful and breakfast was excellent . Would go again to this hotel definitely!

Review 73:Perfect staff, perfect Location ! Concordia made our stay in Venice more pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable! Lie welcomed us with a big smile!!! Friendly and polite staff in the reception can make your day! The triple room we stayed was spacious and in venetian style. Free Wi-fi had excellent reception {at least the hours we were in the room }. Breakfast time was perfect with cold and hot cuts!! Just a minute from St Mark's Square and church, Doge's Palace and Bridge of Sighs. Between two stops of the Vaporetto service. This hotel won't disappoint you.

Review 74:Nothing, this is Venice! Everything you expect and more. Going back again next year.

Review 75:Great hotel, friendly staff, great food (breakfast) excellent position

Review 76:The hotel was perfect and so central, our lovely adjoining rooms looked out across St Marks Square, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Even the breakfast was lovely.

Review 77:Street noise is quite loud at night. Might be quieter on the Square side.

Review 78:Centrally located and close to water taxi and vaporetto station. Within walking distance of all the sights.

Review 79:Location and the friendliness of staff. they were able to manage my special request. enjoyed the restuarants around the hotel and the proximitey to everything

Review 80:I tried reaching the hotel by email while traveling to set up a private water taxi on arrival, however is never received a response and we struggled with our luggage over 2 bridges, stairs, and as seniors we were both exhausted when we finally reached the hotel.

Review 81:The location was very good, but the view of roof tops for that amount of money was disappointing .

Review 82:NIL WE LOVE EVERYTHING

Review 83:LOCATION... STAFF WAS ALWAYS GREAT, NICE, POLITE, HELPFULL. WE FEEL SO APPRECIATED AS A GUEST. IT WAS LIKE IF WE WERE AT HOME WITH FRIENDS

Review 84:There is a musty smell throughout the hotel, which I suspect is a function of Venice water seepage and can't be helped. Also, the wifi was frustratingly slow.

Review 85:Actually on St Mark's square, and the staff are all friendly and attentive.

Review 86:On arrival we Had to drag our bags over bridges in very crowded conditions, Although we paid for a private transfers ( not through hotel)

Review 87:A lovely traditional hotel with large rooms. Good access to sights, restaurants etc. Staff very helpful, with room service and reception and Help with our bags to take our water taxi to the cruise terminal

Review 88:The decor is a little dated and the furniture a little bit shabby.

Review 89:The service was great. The staff we're very attentive, friendly and professional. The location is perfect, right in the thick of things. The bar and food prices are fair compared with the rest of Venice.

Review 90:the cost seemed excessive but I guess that's Venice.

Review 91:the hotel is located on S. Marco Square surrounded by restaurants and hi-end shopping. if you want to be in the center of things, this is the place.

Review 92:due to the location of the hotel it was extremely noisy for the 3 nights stayed we never got any sleep due to the noise outside as well as inside the hotel, wherby after a very tiring day of sightseeing all you want to do is get a good night sleep unfortunately this was not the case...

Review 93:The hotel location was perfect very central and easy access around venice.

Review 94:Nothing--but if you need accessibility, you should ask the staff if the hotel is wheelchair accessible.

Review 95:The location to St. Mark's Square is excellent, a minute's walk to the basilica, the Correr Museum and the Doge's Palace. The staff is so helpful and kind, the room was lovely and very clean. The food was also excellent.

Review 96:It gets noisy at night because of the bars and restaurants near by and the 5am trash collectors. Sleep wasn't the best.

Review 97:The hotel is located strategically close to San Marco and the piazza. Has lots of shopping nearby and excellent restaurants. Very helpful staff and a comfortable room.

Review 98:Our room,316, has a terrasse looking across the basilica and Piazza San Marco, the only hotel in Venice to do so. Room is large, toilet large, shower hot and strong, wifi good and service prompt.

Review 99:the TV screen was small and the channels are limited mostly its italian channels its my recommendation to the hotel to add more english language channels

Review 100:the room was very nice it have a Jacuzzi the scent of the room is very romantic and cozy me and my wife liked the room so much and the staff was very friendly and welcoming also the breakfast delicious.

Review 101:The location was perfect for us and the hotel as well. The staff ay the hotel were very helpful and accommodating and the breakfast was good too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 102:Nothing.

Review 103:Staff were all friendly, helpful and professional, doing all they could to ensure a lovely stay. The Head Consierge, Giuliano, was especially courteous and helpful. The suite we were allocated had a superb view, was tastefully decorated and was impeccably clean.

Review 104:The room is of an old, classic style, not my taste. First night was next to the boiler room with big noise. The next day I asked to change the room. The front desk was nice to note my request and changed my room to an uppper level where it was more quiet. It was generally ok but I felt it was a bit pricy for the quality of the room.

Review 105:It is on the St Marcus Squre, which is the main attraction. Easy ti walk to the water taxi port.

Review 106:The Mosquitos didn't let me sleep at nights. A month later I still have the scars of the bites

Review 107:Comfortable room, clean and quiet. Hotel excellent location

Review 108:Brilliant place to stay ... Perfect location, super courteous staff ... They have us such a nice room and helped with all our queries ... Strongly recommend it

Review 109:The staff were excellent, the rooms were lovely and the position of the hotel, with our bedrooms, to one side, overlooking St Mark's square. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel.

Review 110:Excellent staff. Very professional and polite. Clean room nicely decorated - typical venitian style.Very convenient location. Definitely reccomended!!

Review 111:The taxi was very expensive quite a few customers commented on this. I think it would put people off ordering through the hotel.

Review 112:The location was great the staff very helpful and friendly. The room backed onto St Marks Square how fab is that.

Review 113:Concordia was truly fantastic- apart from the excellent location on San Marco (hard to beat), the facilities are great, staff- incredibly helpful and polite and overall experience- amazing. Upon check-in, we got upgraded to a room with a balcony which had a 180 view of San Marco which was a real treat. Will definitely return one day.

Review 114:Our stay was not longer :-)

Review 115:Room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and modern. Staff was incredibly nice, attentive, helpful and professional.

Review 116:Valentina, Faruk, and Lay were friendly and helpful. Valentina and Faruk assisted with wonderful meals!! Lay was very helpful giving directions and being friendly!!

Review 117:Not many TV channels. Couldn't get the World Cup match.

Review 118:Had a fabulous room over looking the Basilica. The breakfast was simply lovely and met all of our needs. The slippers and robe are a wonderful touch.

Review 119:Noisy at night and early morning.

Review 120:Location right on St Marks square, breakfast room over looking the square. Our room was very spacious with 2 queen size beds but we were on the first floor over looking the street and it was very noisy late into the night and early in the morning. We were offered another room but it was smaller so I stuck it out. The breakfasts were excellent lots of choice and staff were excellent. Went to barbecue in the sister hotel Metropole which was a little expensive but the experience was fantastic as it was Michelin stared. Would recommend this hotel but you need to ask of a quiet room.

Review 121:Staff is extremelly friendly and helpful. Location is superb. The food in the restaraunt is very tasty.

Review 122:Central location close to many attractions in Venice including shops, cafes and restaurants.

Review 123:Breakfast and the service in the restaurant need to be improved.

Review 124:Location.

Review 125:The TV remote was a bit clunky and non-responsive at times but overall a great hotel.
