Reviews for Golden Heritage Motor Inn

Review 1:The motel is on the outskirts of Beechworth town so not really walking distance to the town itself.

Review 2:We had a family room which was spacious enough. Room was very clean and well presented. Had everything we needed. Reception very friendly.

Review 3:Pool not working, bathroom taps leaked, towels had seen better days, bar fridge door didn't open all the way or got caught on exterior door. Rooms not throughly cleaned, phone very dusty, cobweb from bedside light to curtain, drinking glasses dusty.

Review 4:Close to town. Great place for overnight stay where you just need a bed. Owner walked us to room and showed us how everything worked.

Review 5:The rooms were very spacious. The balcony overlooked a lovely garden. The king bed was very comfortable. Is was nice having the frogs chirping outside.

Review 6:arrived with a pet , has a no pet policy in place, had to find alternative accommodation in a hurray at a greater expense and inconvenience or leave my dog outside in his travel cage and would be charged a $100 fee for bringing a pet onto the premises. I notified the owners that I had a pet to do the right thing, was only offered a refund of the second night booking and had to pay for the Friday night we didn't stay because of my pet. When doing a google search for pet friendly accommodation this property was listed , however they are not pet friendly at all.

Review 7:Great location

Review 8:No cutlery was provided although there's a microwave, meaning you cannot buy takeaway dinner and enjoy in the room, esp. on weekdays when most restaurants are closed.

Review 9:Good wifi; clean & tidy. Room seems to be renovated, and is what you would expect of a 3-1/2 star motel (perhaps a "low 4-star").

Review 10:The bed was fine, cleanliness good, but the bathroom needs a BIG makeover, the water system is hopeless, screaming noise whenever the taps are turned on, the toilet is so noisy, will not be returning.

Review 11:maybe cutlery and plates would be a benefit. however the staff were more than happy to get what i needed.

Review 12:everything, the room was spacious and faced onto a beautiful garden and the bush.

Review 13:The downside of the room's location was having further to carry luggage - not an issue for us, but worth considering if it would be for you.

Review 14:The king suite was spacious and had lovely views of the countryside. We had a veranda to sit out on and as the car park was on the other side of the building, we saw no cars.

Review 15:Reported the reverse air conditioning was not heating the room, but used electric blanket to warm up.

Review 16:We have stayed here twice before so enjoyed short walk into shops and particularly felt relaxed sitting on the decking to enjoy the country view.

Review 17:Paying 150 for tiny below standard room with below standard shower not good. Asked for upgrade, felt like i was putting them out. Service disgusting.

Review 18:Sorry not much. Probably quietish

Review 19:It is walking distance to the main street if you are happy to go for a decent stroll

Review 20:Room very clean and to a higher standard than expected from rural hotel. Amazing view if your room is at the back of the property.

Review 21:Nothing bad! All good.

Review 22:The staff very friendly ... The bed very comfortable the room very spacious well appointed with comfortable chairs large tv wall mounted and beaut table and chair setting on balcony to view country landscape and gorge. Really pretty place to stay. Excellent courtesy ride into town for dinner and even better.... Picked us up when finished!

Review 23:Loved the water pressure in the shower, coffee plunger, comfort of the bed and the hosts very kindly dropped us into the Beechworth so that we could have a beer and picked us up after.

Review 24:Shared verandah, gives no privacy, and noisy when doors open. Sort of defeats the object! Same for kitchen - supplied with fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee machine, but no plates, bowls or cutlery. I expected it to be more self catering.

Review 25:Excellent location, reasonably quiet, and reasonable amenities.

Review 26:Very noisy people in room next door, though this isnt owners fault.

Review 27:Owner offered to drive us into town and pick up after dinner. It was a pleasant 15 minute walk. Comfortable room, good wifi.

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:Excellent facilities in a very good, quiet location. This is a top pick motel and I stay regularly in many motels being a retired traveller who likes to keep on the move. I have stayed here several times and when in Beechworth would not stay anywhere else.

Review 30:If wanting to walk in/out from the town centre it is a 20min walk which is fine one way but a little tough on the way home pending time of day & how many red wines you have consumed.

Review 31:Very clean with a beautiful rear shared balcony.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Pleasant and very helpful staff. Good quiet location even though situated on a main road. Small but adequate kitchen, with chairs & table. Comfortable lounge, large television. Sunny verandah to sit and read the newspapers.

Review 34:All very nice, though could have done with an electric blanket as find air conditioning heating stuffy. Not a complaint..just a suggestion.

Review 35:Location, outlook over Gorge. the fantastic lightning show that went for over an hour thanks to the weather and kind hosts who knocked on our door to let us know we could pull back our curtains and see it.

Review 36:Being winter it would've been nice to have more coverings on the bed. I am not one to keep the heater on all night and the bed coverings were very light.

Review 37:Very comfy room, everything supplied.

Review 38:Staff were wonderfully welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay.

Review 39:Clean comfortable affordable

Review 40:Friendly staff-good breakfast even a fancy coffee machine! Good location

Review 49:Most enjoyable stay even though only one night. Will stay there again.

Review 50:Loved the super comfy bed in room 9. Great staff and a very yummy breakfast.

Review 51:The breakfast was excellent...esp the pot of hot milk coffee. The comfort of the bed and pillows was exemplary...so good.

Review 52:The owners drove us each night to our restaurant so that we did not have to drive our car and came and picked us up at the end of the meal!!!

Review 53:Sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine to watch the sun set over the hills was a highlight of our holiday

Review 67:a little tired requiring some work

Review 68:comfortable neat & tidy

Review 69:Spacious rooms with good view of valley. Good welcome on arrival and the room had been heated up for our arrival.

Review 70:Clean and comfortable friendly organised staff

Review 71:One side of heater light in bathroom was missing. Light over vanity not working. Not enough lighting outside of cottage and not enough lighting to make your way over to the office when its dark. No cement slab or carport for car. No cement pathways to car or office. If offering port, it should never be in an unsealed decanter but in an unopened bottle!

Review 72:Beautiful setting, lovely comfortable cottage, lovely and warm for winter, very clean and tidy, lovely hosts - very helpful.

Review 73:Struggle to switch to Foxtel as per instructions. Not worked.

Review 74:Hygiene, Clean, Safe and full of facilities with specious room. Coffeemachine was excellent. Nice environment and great hospitality by bob. Mychoice @ Beechworth is Golden Heritage Motor Inn

Review 75:There was a knocking sound which we finally think we located behind the wall - maybe pipes. We mentioned it to Mgmt and they were attending to it straight away.

Review 76:We especially liked the balcony room and the bed was so comfortable.

Review 77:No distinct charm but practical

Review 78:The room was comfortable, well equipped and air conditioned (it was around 40° outside), no residual old carpet smell like in some other motels. Very chatty gentleman welcomed us

Review 79:Parking facilities.. first in best dressed..

Review 80:friendly hosts .location, close to all facilities and heritage sites.walking distance to town centre restaurants etc.. good size room and comfortable clean bed. reasonable rates too.

Review 81:I really liked the arm chairs, so important in being able to relax. The tv was the best sized I have seen in any hotel and that was great. Having been in 17 hotels in the last 2 years those 2 things are important to relaxing in room.

Review 82:We loved the comfortable room, the caretaker was thoughtful enough to warm our room for us,as she was aware that we would be checking in a little late. She also made bookings on our behalf for late dinner reservations and nothing was too much to ask. Very nice people.

Review 83:Stain or dirty ring & outlet on basin was very off putting, it stopped me from using the basin. Bright blue bin & bright yellow toilet brush, looked cheap & tacky in bathroom.

Review 84:Large room, bed was comfortable, quite, no traffic noise. Heating was already on when we arrived, which was a nice touch as it was very cold day.

Review 85:The old veranda nearly lost my keys down it. The bathroom was coldno means of heating in it. I thought a bit too expensive for whatwas offered.

Review 86:Bed was comfortable

Review 87:Only a night and day stop off to visit Beechworth great place comfortable stay and friendly greeting, letting us now town was busy so best to book dinner, good advise and enjoyed our meal thanks Would recommend.

Review 88:Absence of crockery and cutlery.

Review 89:Cleanliness and quietness. The door opening onto verandah whicheliminated closed-in feeling that visitors to motels can sometimesexperience. The staff/owners were very friendly, courteous, helpfuland efficient. Parking was very accessible.

Review 90:I think the verandah is the next thing to be fixed especially the steps where there is a bit of a lip and I tripped on it and saw other people doing the same thing

Review 91:I liked the fresh refurbished rooms. It was situated close enough to town to walk if we wanted. Friendly staff but also respected your privacy. Facilities allowed you to make your own breakfast if wanted. Overall a lovely place to visit a lovely piece of Victoria!

Review 92:lack of chairs tables outside the room. no seating or leisure space on the balcony. too far to walk to town attractions Jail not open on weekdays

Review 93:comfortable room pleasing setting friendly staff great location

Review 94:There was nothing I didn't like. It was great.

Review 95:Rooms spacious & bright. Had it's own kitchenette. Clean. Able to sit on back verandah & relax & enjoy nature.

Review 96:The management provided us with conveyance to and from town, which allowed us to have a wine or two with dinner. They provided us with extras like cutlery and didnt bat an eye about my son eating his takeaway dinner in the room. Very clean, spacious and eco friendly rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in beechworth, knowing we had great accomodation to go back to. High tea in town was delightful, tasty and affordable.

Review 97:The only extra item I would find helpful would be a night-light in the bathroom.

Review 98:Everything! The manager was exceptionally helpful; our room was very spacious, with peaceful valley views from the deck outside our room. It was an absolute delight to stay there - so relaxing, yet so close to the delightful shops of Beechworth. The kitchen facilities, good sized table and chairs, as well as comfy chairs, added to the great experience. The hosts offer to take and pick up from restaurants in town, also, if required.
