Reviews for Quality Inn & Suites Hinton
Review 1:Kids running around until 11:30 at night. Playing Nicky nine door, being respectful. Staff didn't seem to care about it
Review 2:Rooms were clean and well kept
Review 3:Stayed 3 nights. A very good substitution to Jasper's over-priced accommodations. Front-desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The double-bed room is very spacious. The bed is very comfortable - not too firm and not too soft, just right. The whole hotel is very cozy.
Review 4:The waffle machine was not functioning at breakfast. The hotel should have offered an alternative for breakfast (e.g., a coupon for somewhere local, etc.).
Review 5:Rooms were nice and good selection of channels on television.
Review 6:You know most other place I ended up being dissatisfied but this hotel no, The service was excellent. The rooms are modern and breakfast Wow so Awesome
Review 7:Mostly I love the modern up to date hotel, that s my first impression when I walked into the lobby. For me first impression counts, because then I made the right choice, and to be greeted by friendly staff really made my day totally satisfied.
Review 8:False advertisement.....we asked for motels in jasper and searched all over Jasper for the motel and finally asked the locals where the Quality Inn was and they said there wasn't one in Jasper...by that time it was past the time to call and cancel....so we felt like we were scammed!!
Review 9:Encountered bad terminal on check-out. My card was refused and I was told to phone RBC. No problem there but it sure gave the day a bad start.
Review 10:Right off highway 16, but good nights sleep. Given good directions to restaurant upon arrival.
Review 11:The pool sides were filthy the hot tub jets we're very poorlyworking and we stayed two days the first day when cleaners came in theydidn't empty garbage can that was full or restocked the bathroomcondiments.
Review 12:Staff was all friendly and helpfull, rooms were clean and stocked withlots of towels. Also it was nice to see that there was dishes andsilverware to use to heat up leftover meals.
Review 13:Our room was over the swimming pool and something war working all night and noisy too tired to do anything about it.
Review 14:Nice place. Quality at a good price.
Review 15:I stayed one night here. It was clean and comfortable what I saw was exactly like the pictures on the booking website. Washroom was very clean. there was enough facilities inside the room. Breakfast was good. Nothing to complain I will stay in this place in my next trip.
Review 16:Poorly lit parking area at rear of hotel.
Review 17:Courteous staff, and clean facility. Spotless bathroom, lots of parking. Convenient location. Good value.
Review 18:Put an $800 hold on my credit card prior to check inn . Slow check inn 1 desk clerk who kept repeating to each guest the fact that $200 would be charged to card for damage deposit. Very annoying . Also looked like owner was patrolling hallways during check inn . Breakfast was awful even the coffee was bad
Review 19:Location
Review 20:Location is somewhat "industrial" but easy access from the highway
Review 21:For the price this place was great. Spacious, clean rooms, kitchenette, 2 tv's! tea and coffee always available in the lobby. A good breakfast with a variety to choose from - eggs, sausage, waffles, toast and pastries Pool and hot tub area was nice
Review 22:It's pretty far away from Jasper about an hour drive.
Review 23:Room was spacious and very clean. Definitely got our money's worth. Stayed 2 nights and it was quiet! pools are clean and the breakfast has quiet a few options. Would stay again for sure
Review 24:Hot water in room was a bit tepid.
Review 25:Located just off highway so was easily accessed. Motel was fairly quiet despite location near highway. Breakfast excellent.
Review 26:We had a young family above us that had a kid or kids and they kept running back and forth and jumping off the beds at 6:30 AM! Finally around 7:30 I called the front desk and complained and it stopped for a bit and then it started up again. After driving straight for 16 hours and not arriving at the hotel till almost midnight, we did not have a good relaxing sleep. It was just very loud.
Review 27:The friendliness of the staff and how clean the hotel was
Review 28:The rooms were great! We enjoyed the spacious rooms, the nice view, the friendly staff and the delicious breakfast! We were returning from a nephew's wedding in Vanderhoof!
Review 29:It's 75km from Jasper. It is only 24km from the park, but most things are central to Jasper
Review 30:It's exactly as advertised. Is clean. Staff are polite and efficient.
Review 31:Breakfast was cold, unappetising and limited choice. Also, only fast food outlets available nearby if you require an evening meal. Suggest you stock up at local Walmart.
Review 32:Very clean and comfortable, great beds.
Review 33:I didn't like the fact that they show a picture of the hotel with a mountain as a background . Makes you believe that there are mountains around it when really its on the highway
Review 34:The self serve breakfest
Review 35:Very uncomfortable beds, nothing but fast food near by, staff seemed to not want to be at work when we checked in. Do not stay on the 3rd floor, you will hear everything from above. The 4th floor is hardwood (or so they said) and we heard everything from dragging luggage to kids running across room at times we thought something was Going to come through the roof. The saying is true you get what you pay for but we have stayed at quality inns before and have never had these issues. We will never stay at the quality Inn in Hinton again.
Review 36:Very clean.
Review 37:"Busy and early" neighbors woke us up a few times.
Review 38:location. cleanliness. staff. all great. It seemed that this staff and management were working very hard to make our stay pleasant. We were very grateful for such a clean place to stay after a long day of driving from Vancouver.
Review 39:Breakfast room could be better equipped to handle the amount of people . Constant line up for use of the toaster and waffle maker .
Review 40:Overall happy with my two night stay
Review 41:We booked 3 rooms (1 queen and one sofa bed) based on the layout of the rooms and because we were 3 couples going there. We were given 1 one-queen-one-sofa-bed room and 2 two-queen-bed rooms. They said it was Booking.com that was having problems because they didn't have more of the rooms we had booked and still, Booking.com allowed us to go ahead with the booking. Other than that, it was a great stay. We would return and we will definitely recommend to others.
Review 42:Slow to have one elevator for both guests and staff especially at breakfast time. Need another waffle machine as there was always a line up.
Review 43:Nice location on the west side of Hinton. Close to Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Walmart and Safeway. Suites were nice with a kitchenette and separate bedroom.
Review 44:For this price it is really pkeasant to stay for folks who do not care for extra 50-min driving on a sceneric road. 性价比真心高,房屋设施都是全新的,交通很方便停车场很宽敞。到jasper约50分钟车程,但是一路上很漂亮,而且有小动物,我们看到了羊,鹿,还有熊。
Review 45:Complimentary breakfast had plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful with every query. Bed was comfortable and very clean. Would definitely recommend
Review 46:The only negative is that it was very noisy. Ceiling and walls were not very sound proof. We awoke often from noise above us and from hallway beginning at 4:00 am.
Review 47:Comfortable beds, friendly staff.
Review 48:The roof top AC, or something along those lines, Ran all night, kept me awake, sounded like a semi running all night from our bedroom. Good thing I wasn't there on businesses or I'd have been an angry human in the AM. The hot tub looked like it hadn't been drained and cleaned in a long time, lots of gross film on it. Elevators need some TLC...
Review 49:Everyone was very nice and accommodating to my requests and questions, the room was excellently cleaned and the equipment inside the room all worked without hassle!
Review 50:The breakfast room is a bit small and on high season is crowded so you end up waiting for food and tables. The food was decent wither some hot foods offered
Review 51:This is a great place to stay. Near Jasper it is less expensive than most Jasper hotels, rooms are nice and the breakfast was decent.
Review 52:Gym facilities don't have much equipment, breakfast doesn't offer much variety
Review 53:Pool facilities, friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Clean place all in all.
Review 54:Very clean, pretty décor, large rooms, nice walking trails in the park behind the hotel, great breakfast, loved having the coffee on in the lobby. The staff was friendly and helped with suggestions of good eating places. Loved the old Alberta photos on all the walls
Review 55:super clean, super quiet. We generally go to bed at midnight and heard zero noise from crews, pets etc. They were painting lines on the parking lot but I went around back and ended up parking looking directly down on the vehicle.
Review 56:The room above us had a LARGE-sounding dog that paced and howled allnight! We heard them arrive, but it seemed like the dog must have beenleft alone because of all the whimpering and howling. We should haverequested a move but did not.
Review 57:Very long check-in wait. Balcony right over loud Air Conditioning Units. Air conditioning in room did not work well.
Review 58:Low price. Great hot tub. Very good breakfast
Review 59:Room was clean and very comfortable. The selection and quality of the breakfast that was included really amazed me. The lady that kept the kitchen going was excellent.
Review 60:Gentleman who checked us in at night was so professional and nice he made check-in a breeze. Room was perfect, everything is shiny brand new, bed and pillows were so comfy, sheets are crisp, clean and white. Breakfast was included and was a plesant surprise as it included waffles, bacon, sausage, fruit and a multitude of other choices. Location was super convenient. I will visit again, and this time enjoy the pool & hot tub!
Review 61:Broken lamp in bedroom, had to unplug and move around the working lamp to see in the bedroom. Front desk staff made no effort to assist. Hot tub plugged, supposed plumbing problem. Found out after trying to use it. Bathroom by poolroom had dirty toilet paper rolls sitting on counter, there were no clean rolls to use in the toilet paper dispenser, many booze bottles were accumulated and left in this bathroom. Not told about the breakfast, any hotel amenities or WiFi until I returned to the front desk to ask. Upon eating breakfast, man refilling and cleaning breakfast room was carrying a garbage can around and wiping table top messes into garbage can he got from the floor, that was extend of cleaning tables in this room, then wiped outside of garbage can, then wiped counters where food sits with same cloth. Amber at front desk did not make us feel like we were welcome. This stay felt like we were at a skid row dingy hotel.
Review 62:king bed was big, having seperate living room area was nice.... nothing else positive to say
Review 63:On the booking.com website the hotels in Hinton AB look as though their close to jasper but is 1 hr away. Kms are listed but you have to be looking close as my search was for the town of jasper.
Review 64:The suite was nice, spacious and clean. Great value for money.
Review 65:I booked online a two bed nonsmoking room, we checked in and was put in a one bed room. So we changed rooms, went to the 2nd room it wasn't cleaned, 3rd room the same condition. So we then put in a smoking room. Won't stay there again
Review 66:The staff at the front desk were very feiendly
Review 67:the fact no way of knowing the pool and hot tub did not work before we booked on line. That was our highlight we were going for. We were told what do you expect its Hinton. We were told pool guy comes every 3 months n the pools need inspecting every month. Don't advertise pool and hot tub when they are out of order 80% of the time. When they work in jasper.
Review 68:friendly staff
Review 69:Hallways and elevator somewhat dirty from workmen in muddy boots I assume. Stopover place for workmen in mountains. I was turned off by the check in clerk. She seemed stressed: commented on her long workweek and was "chomping" on gum throughout both at check in and check out. Quite distracted with other things.
Review 70:Location was good to travel from Edmonton then on to Jasper. Nice view of mountains and easy to get around in Hinton. Breakfast simple but adequate for sure.
Review 71:Pool room closed and we weren't told this before our stay and kids were very disappointed after the 4 hour drive to get there that they wouldn't be able to swim. Also there was a fire alarm at midnight which sent everyone in the building to the curb outside in the cold for over an hour and there was no discount or even later check out time as people were tired and it was hard to get children back to sleep afterwards.
Review 72:TV system. Two seperate remotes, some funtions on one some on the other. No proper instructions on which to use for what. No indication of what channels were available. Lighting. Bathroom had four fixtures but only one worked. One of the glass covers was in danger of falling off and into the sink. This was corrected the next day, but still only two fixtures worked. Bedroom table lamp did not work, Reason the bulb was shattered but still in the socket. That could give someone a sever, perhaps lethal shock if he touced it not knowing the lamp was turned on. Corrected the next day.
Review 73:Quiet
Review 74:Late evening fire alarm - not the fault of staff or a reflection on the facilities, just made for a bit of a disrupted sleep!
Review 75:Room was clean and all facilities were in good condition, accommodations were comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Review 76:There doesn't seem to be enough insulation between rooms. Corridor and the noise from the floor above was louder than most hotels I have stayed in
Review 77:The hotel was nicely done and the staff were very friendly
Review 78:I booked this hotel for a stay in Jasper. I was very unhappy to see thatwhen arriving in Jasper it was 75 km east. Completely out of our way.
Review 79:The hotel was great.......>>>>>>but
Review 80:The hotel was VERY loud. We had housekeeping knock on our door at 8AM Saturday morning - there was NO do not disturb sign in our room to hang on the door. Sunday morning we were awakened at 7AM by the noise of the house keepers vacuuming upstairs and around 8AM again the noise of them cleaning in the hallways outside our room. So much for a nice relaxing stay!
Review 81:Multiple burned out bulbs in the room. DIRTY: fruit pit on floor by bed, filthy light switches, toenail behind dresser, Blue-ray movie left in nightstand from previous occupant, and an actual booger on the wall above the telephone. Holes in bathroom wall where shower curtain had been torn down/relocated, old holes not patched up just left. Bathroom was cramped. No tertiary locking system on door aside from deadbolt (i.e. no chair or ball & socket lock). A/C Heater unit was in Fahrenheit not Celsius, and did not have any fan option. TV required 2 controllers and no obvious operating instructions. NOISY: could hear every footstep from above and every noise in the hallway and neighboring rooms, train traffic from nearby tracks woke me several times, seems room had no noise insulating at all.
Review 82:Fridge, Microwave and Internet were good. Room was spacious: except the bathroom.
Review 83:sound proofing was lacking...noisy friendly receptionist but lacking experience with too many excuses trying to cover for herself
Review 84:room amenities location breakfast
Review 85:Strange smell in the room, the bed board needs to be cleaned. Breakfast was awful. Paper plates, plastic cutlery and styrofoam glasses, no vegetables.
Review 86:Location, great for travellers for a short overnight stay and very friendly stuff
Review 87:Breakfast was a little lacking. Didn't realize there were omlets as they were still in the fridge waiting for patrons to heat up.
Review 88:Very spacious, comfortable room with fridge and microwave. Bed was comfortable.
Review 89:Thin doors made for some unwelcome noise from other suites. One can stand in the hall and listen to conversations, televisions and radios. Pity they cheaped out on doors!
Review 90:Nice staff. Very clean. Well equipped kitchenette, Firm beds, Nice decor.
Review 91:I have been to Calgary Nova, It was amazing. Smoking was outside the Building, Hall way carpet not impressing ,Swimming pool out of order. No strove, sink and large fridge.
Review 92:The stuffs, short walking distance to Resturans ,shopping centers and location between Jasper and Gibson. The people and the surrounding.
Review 93:I booked a room with two queen beds on arrival was a told I was upgraded to a king bed with sofa bed not acceptable who wants to sleep on a sofa bed after driving all day they juggled things around and put us in a room that stank like dirty work socks spray didn't work pool and hot tub were out of order and we're not offered a discount after waiting for over 45 minutes in the loby for them to fix their mistake on booking are room that they didn't have if they were honest in the beginning I could I could have found proper accommodations at 10 30 pm all the other motels were booked in town
Review 94:After a long 12 day trip through Alberta we ended our stay at the Nova Inn Hinton. We were mostly looking forward of the pool facilities and the cozy bed. However, we found out the pool was out of service when we checked in which was disappointing and had we known ahead of time we would have stayed at the other Nova Inn a block away. Also, the receptionist was quite rude when we asked about the continental breakfast. Fortunately we we got to our room we were relieved to see a beautiful king bed and very clean room. This of course made up for the out of service pool as we had our hot showers and collapsed comfortably in the bed. The receptionist in the morning was very pleasant. Overall I would say this was a great hotel and we would certainly stay there again.
Review 95:The staff did not advise me of the extra $100 they were charging on my credit card. I had to call the hotel the next day to get an explanation. It is not right to make charges on someone's card without their consent. The beds were also quite uncomfortable.
Review 96:The room was clean and nice paint colors.
Review 97:I booked for 2 bedroom but when we were there with my family and friends to check in, they only booked us 1 bedroom. The front desk staff in the reception who was taking care of us seems does not know what she supposed to do. Would wait for me to tell her call his manager on the thing she could not decide on. And would let us wait long with in the lobby with our kids. Did not receive any apologies from their insufficiencies.
Review 98:Location and wifi
Review 99:Pool, hot tub were unavailable. Would have booked another hotel if I knew beforehand. Room felt a bit gloomy.
Review 100:kitchen appliances: microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, plates, cutlery, etc. Friendly staff. Breakfast included.
Review 101:The place was smoke filled. We booked a non smoking room and we're told that the rooms were all smoking. Thought I was going to die it stunk so bad. Great place for smokers but no one else
Review 102:Breakfast lacked choice
Review 103:Convenient, close to jasper national but not in it, so lots of shops and places to stock up. Hotel was fine and comfy . Bedroom had lots of space and the bed just right.
Review 104:We had a queen bed room. Room was pretty good with a desk area along with a table and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was on the small side and about half the lights in the bathroom were out. Come on cleaning staff how can you miss that? Unfortunately, the property has a cheap vibe to it, what with lots of computer printed signs hung around. Also, large trucks parked on street in front of property making getting in/out of driveway hazzardous. For the 2 nights we were there a large, oversized truck with a wide trailer of some kind was blocking all views down the street in one direction. I think many work crews frequent this hotel and the trucks belong to them but still, the hotel should see to it that the large trucks like that are not right in front of the hotel. Breakfast and breakfast room was a joke. Once again lots of computer printed signs, no one to replenish things, not all that many places to sit in a large room. There are 2 Nova properties in town and there is a sign saying to turn for Nova but it must be an old sign because it was really for the older Nova Lodge and not the newer Nova Inn which was further down the road. We had asked for a nonsmoking room during booking and then by email the morning we were going to arrive and we did get one. We had a first floor room which looked to the back of the hotel parking. Luckily the truck parked in front of our window appeared to not move for the 2 nights we stayed so no problem with lights coming into the room. I don't like ground floor rooms like that for security but at least the only opening part of the window was high up. While the hotel was full our room was quiet. All in all an average stay but this property does have potential if managed better since the room was fine.
Review 105:no hot tub or swimming pool functioning as stated on the net and the sign out front. Doesn't take Aeroplan as stated on sign out front. Apparently hot tub not functioning for a long long time.
Review 106:Pool was closed
Review 107:This was a great place for my family. Seperate bedroom for my daughter and the kitchen was set great, they even gave dish soap which I have not seen before. The pool was close and that's the only reason I rated it poor. Disappointment we couldn't swim. Other than that, great hotel.
Review 108:The pool and hot tub were not working both times that I stayed. I would of used the facilities, for sure, I have a back issue and swimming, helps a lot. On the Monday when I stayed there was no bagels or bread for the continental breakfast.
Review 109:Staff was friendly and helpful. I couldn't get the air conditioner to work and a young man that was at the desk came right to my room and fixed the issue for me.
Review 110:I stayed in Nova inn Hinton on July 21 and checked out on 22nd. My original booking was for July 20 (checking out on 21) which was my mistake. I was making so many reservations for our family vacation, I made a mistake. Also I found this out little too late. I found it at the night of 20th. I called the number that I had on my reservation and left a voice mail, thinking that was a number of Nova inn but it was booking.com, that was my mistake also. I called the hotel on Monday morning and talked to somebody who said they already charged me for the night because I didn't show up but he understood and he would do anything he could to help me and we could come and stay without charge. That was awesome to hear, of course but he shouldn't have said it when he left a note saying he's leaving the final decision to the manger. So we went to the hotel. The front desk person said it's the manager's decision and got the manager to come out who said she's in a meeting but when she's done she will call me to discuss and do something that's fair for everybody. She left without talking to me. We stayed there with no other choice to stay there. (We stayed because of what the manager said). Next morning I asked front desk if the manager left any message, there was none. She reminded me of the no-show policy again but she said she will get the manager to call me. The manager didn't call. I emailed the head office few days later and I said all employees should say whatever they would and they could and make sure that happens. The head office didn't respond to me. I understand the policy and don't blame the hotel to charge me for the no-show Sunday. But it's not right to say you would do something and don't. If the manager had no authority to adjust that kind of situation then she should have told me so, instead of saying what she wasn't going to do. I do not plan to use any of Nova inn in the future.
Review 111:Booked here for the pool and hot tub, but were told they were closed when checking in. Rooms are poorly insulated between floors. Could hear every footstep above us.
Review 112:Room was clean Breakfast was okay
Review 113:Desk staff at 8:00 pm were on power trip. Not helpful and big guy to lazy to get out of his chair to talk to you. We were one of the first 5 rooms registered that night , had booked two nights 3 months prior. They gave us room with elevator in part of room and every time the bell rang in elevator. Aske to change when hotel was prob 25/ full and were told couldn't. The next day spoke to manager and she changed us. The two people on duty the night we arrived had no idea what their job was and guy was too lazy to even get out of his chair...they both should be fired. Manager next morning was very good.
Review 114:I questioned the cleanliness in the room. The lamp was askew and had some liquid dripped on the shade. The floor in the pool area was sandy and the washroom across from the pool had no TP and paper towels were spilling out of the garbage. There were no fresh towels by the pool. This was at 8:30 in the morning! All in all I wished I had stayed in the newer Nova Lodge down the road.
Review 115:The staff were friendly.
Review 116:We were a little disappointed that the pool and hot tub were not working. However, we were only there for night and could safely live without it…
Review 117:Convenient location in Hinton with easy access to Jasper National Park. Alternative hotels in Jasper would've easily been $100 to $200 more per night. Although the room was a tad bit dated, the furnishings were clean and comfortable. The room was large enough to accommodate our family of four. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was your Continental breakfast standard fare The inclusion of fresh fruit platter.
Review 118:No alarm clock in the room. Asked for a wake-up call at 8:30am, housekeeper knocked on our door at 8:00am to clean our room. We were still sleeping. The front desk manager was not overly concerned and just said it was her fault for the miscommunication.
Review 119:The two ladies when we checked in were very friendly.
Review 120:The door didn't seem to fully close. You could hear the noise from the hallway.
Review 121:The location was really nice to travel the Rocky Mountains and priced very reasonable in comparison to Jasper. It was right next to the road, free parking, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast as well as a little fitness room and an indoor pool. Best value for money while travelling in Alberta
Review 122:Rooms need a lot of work pretty beat up Vaccuming above us at 8:30 am Breakfast quite a poor selection and the juice dispenser was broken only syrup came out
Review 123:The pool and hot tub were good Was happy that the rooms had a fridge
Review 124:Breakfast was not good (trust me Im not a picky eater). Rubbery French Toast and Omelette are in the fridge for guests to heat up in the microwave. There is only 1 microwave in the room for all the guests to use, now imagine the line up in the morning. We tried their breakfast on our first day but decided to go elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. I had to ask the front desk a few times for soap and shampoo, the cleaning lady does not stock our bathroom. No major issues though
Review 125:Proximity to Jasper National Park. Friendly front desk staff.
Review 126:one of your staff members canceled our reservation without notice. bed was broken. Placed in a smoking room when asked for non smoking, noise from other patrons heard from above and outside the door.
Review 127:location
Review 128:Everything! The décor and furnishings are current and the room was well designed. The mini-kitchen is great. Beds and chairs are very comfortable. Bathroom is large and well appointed. This will definitely be 'the' stop for us in the Jasper area, and will be recommended to all our friends.
