Het Kasteeltje is set in a fairy tale-like castle in the centre of historic Alkmaar. It offers 2 modern decorated apartments with fully-equipped kitchens and a living room with flat-screen TV.
Both bright apartments have characteristic high ceilings and big windows offering views of the Alkmaar city scenery. The bedrooms come with box-spring beds and modern bathroom are stocked with Rituals toiletries. A private parking spot is available 1,000 feet from the building.
Guests can make use of the open-plan kitchen including a gas stove, dishwasher and a tea/coffee maker. There is a dining area and all the necessary kitchenware are provided.
Alkmaar’s famous Dutch Cheese market is 1,300 feet from Het Kasteeltje on foot. The train station is 0.8 miles away.

Review 1：The only thing I wished it had was a broom so I could sweep the floor after cooking. But saying that it is not a big deal.

Review 2：It was a great place to stay as it was close to most things we wanted to go to or see. Beds were very comfortable which is important to me as I hard time sleeping.

Review 3：The location of the flat was excellent, as was the interaction with the owner. The flat itself has a lower and upper mezzanine floor, and is beautifully decorated. There are couple of minor drawbacks - one of which was the very steep access from the front door to the flat, the other was the bedroom is pretty small and has to be accessed via steep stairs This is no ordinary self catering apartment - the whole property was almost surgically clean, and there are lots of small touches that made the place feel like a home. The owner is a professional landlord (e.g has a high street shop presence) and deals with numerous properties around the area - it is obvious that she takes a great deal of pride in this operation and has assembled a great team to work with her. A fantastic place and highly recommended.

Review 4：If you were to stay with a very young family the stairs leading up to the apartments are very steep - for us it was not a problem.

The apartment was wonderful, clean and with everything we needed for our stay. Alkmaar is a wonderful town with lots of bars and restaurants. Review 7：Really everything! It starts with the house that is a real beauty. The apartment is furnished with excellent taste. The location is excellent, close to the centre, and free parking is offered nearby (which is a real plus considering that parking in the street in Alkmaar costs about 26€ a day). What made the stay exceptional, was that the hosts are very considerate. It started with a personal e-mail and even a postcard right after the booking and continued with a warm welcome in Alkmaar. The consideration could also be seen in the little details in the apartment. There was enough tea and coffee, toilet paper and tabs for the dishwasher for the whole week. It's these little things that show that hosts really care for their clients and which, all in all, made this stay an extremely positive experience.

Review 17：alkmaar is a beautiful little city to reach all the cities like amsterdam, haarlem or delft by train or car. the appartment is in very good shape and makes you feel at home! the hosts will do the rest. they are also very flexible about checking in and out and the bike rentals! we really enjoyed our stay!
