Reviews for Coastal Motor Lodge
Review 1:Had to get used to a bit of traffic noise as unit closest to quite a busy road at that time of year.
Review 2:Great hosts , park like setting , fantastic view especially the sunset ! Elevated Chalet style .
Review 3:The non nonjudgmental, dictatorial approach on arrival due to skin color and financial status and family appearance, and weren't made to feel these tendencies or experience prejudgment of our family conduct, which over the years we have experienced repeatedly, but we have never have revisit those places, but we would revisit Coastal lodge:
Review 4:Friendly owners who were very helpful in every way. Location of motel suited us & we had access to various tourist spots that we were interested in seeing. Extremely comfortable bed & well-equipped kitchen so we could cook if we wanted to - but also a short drive to plenty of restaurants & cafes. Glorious outlook across the Hauraki Gulf - loved sitting on the verandah every evening, watching the sunset, enjoying some fine NZ wines! We also loved going to sleep to the sound of the moreporks & waking up to the tuis, bellbirds & all the other birdlife. We'll definitely be back!
Review 5:We stayed 2 nights over New year there was no Wi-Fi, but proud advertisement at the entry 'Free Internet'. Very disappointed.
Review 6:Comfortable and good looking room. Nice see view.
Review 7:Requested parking adjacent to unit but on return after dinner found a car parked in spot allocated to us by owner. As I had a strapped ankle it was most inconvenient. Told by staff member parking is first in first served.
Review 8:Location is lovely but some road noise at night due to Chalet being near front.
Review 9:The only criticism was that we were in a unit under another unit on top of us. The couple in that unit were inconsiderate with the noise they made quite late into the night with their over zealous love making!!!!!!!
Review 10:Loved the location and serenity of the property and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming?
Review 11:Everything mentioned in the booking was as expected except for the sea-view and was our main reason for booking this hotel. The photos of Chalet (room type) are all true except for the sea view which you can only get from one room, all other rooms have limited or no sea-view from inside the room, however the view from the room's deck was good.
Review 12:Liz and Tom were very friendly and welcoming hosts. The rooms were spotless, well kept grounds and will give a 10/10 for the cleanliness.
Review 13:the price was more the 2nd night.
Review 14:The bay window view to the coast and the architeture of the room . The wooden roof and all accesories were very amazing .
Review 15:there was nothing to dislike. excellent choice
Review 16:we have friends in Thames and it was lovely to catch up with them and also to chat with the proprietor of the chalet.
Review 17:Nothing....everything was perfect.
Review 18:Lovely relaxing place with wonderful hosts. Delicious rocky road supper supplied to us our first night on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble e.g the hostess provided us with sightseeing information and cleaned the barbecue after we had used it. Would highly recommend this place to stay.
Review 19:The road in front is a bit noisy. Lack of decent restaurants and other eating sources in nearby Thames.
Review 20:Well appointed chalet, beautiful surrounds, great view, very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 21:Bathroom door would not shut properly. Slight traffic noise.
Review 22:Pleasant outlook onto coast and backed by bush covered cliffs. Light, well equipped apartment with balcony. Easy access to beautiful coastal scenery.
Review 23:Smart, clean room with good facilities and a very comfortable bed. Lovely hosts who were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if heading this way.
Review 24:The high level windows in the rooms do not have curtains so you either need to wear an eye mask or wake up with the larks. Fine if you are an early riser.
Review 25:The Coastal Motor Lodge is a pleasingly designed group of alpine style cottages. There is lots of glass and it is very modern compared with most motels. The situation is good in that it has potentially lovely views over the river, depending on the weather. It is not in the centre of town so a car is needed to access the local restaurants.
Review 26:Everything was perfect!
Review 27:The setup was perfect and so peaceful with a beautiful view over the sea. Everything was so clean and the bed was king size and so comfortable! The ensuite was likewise amazing and had many extras to surprize us. Likewise the kitchen department. Thanks for your excellent accomodation. We hope to be back again and will tell our friends. The charge for staying in such luxurious accomodation was most reasonable in our opinion! Melis and Ruth Van der Sluis.
Review 28:notin not to like about the place. Difficult to locate for a person new to the place. Maybe better signage would work.
Review 29:the whole ambience of the place was amazing. the rooms were so cute, you fall in love. Convenient and not far from the town centre.
Review 30:No air conditioning and the fan was insufficient. Electric blanket in bed made it less comfy than it would have been without it.
Review 31:Our lodge overlooked the bay and we saw beautiful sunsets. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was space for all of our clothing etc. We enjoyed the coastal drives up to Coromandel Town and the Driving Creek Railway.
Review 32:If there was one thing - it would have been returning to a warm room - but once we opened the windows it cooled very quickly.
Review 33:Location to attractions on the peninsular. It was very comfortable and well maintained.
Review 34:The traffic was fairly noisy but we needed the windows open so we could be cool enough.
Review 35:The room was quirky and very comfortable. We had the view over the harbour and it was lovely.
Review 36:Not a thing it was perfect
Review 37:this is a beautiful place we loved staying here it’s difficult when booking a place you don’t know but this was the BEST find yet loved the setting and the lodge was perfect it looked brand new the owners were just the best happy informative and nothing too much bother
Review 38:Nothing really
Review 39:Quiet location with view of the Firth of Thames. A great location to base oneself to tour the Corramandol Penninsula. Good laundry facilities.
Review 40:Good Location near the Ocean, but no reasonable Beaches on this site. After accomodation we was charged 35NZD for... cleaning the Room...
Review 41:One of the Best accomodation on the North Island, good reasonable price, clean and comfortable room.
Review 42:Couch not so comfortable for sleeping Cabin a little aged - perhaps a spruce up in order - some lighter coloured interior and maybe a painting or two on the walls Bathroom, while clean, perhaps needs modernising Be good to have a directory in cabin of local takeaway places
Review 43:Size of the camping ground good - not too crowded Having cabin large enough for the whole family of 6 weather was fantastic Washing/cooking/rubbish disposal all great facilities Swimming pool popular with kids
Review 44:Parking wasnt bad but could be looked into perhaps.
Review 45:Where do you start? Position along the coast, the west coast scenic highway (I call it wonderland).Just north of Thames not far to be a problem. This is an architecturally designed building with definitely 5 star features. It is quiet surrounded at the rear in native bush. We had an upstairs unit with an open plan lounge and bed area (separated by a wall), quite large enough for us. The kitchen was fully equipped with microwave (we didnt utilise this much had the option though). Grass barbecue area - communal with an opportunity to just sit on the grass, play petanque, enjoy. If I had of realised by doing more homework the position is such that you could stay here and travel to Coromandel Town and the east coast if wanted to. Recommendation from us you wont be disappointed. We left our charges behind, not a problem will be posted. Compared to other accommodation observed in Thames its a no brainer!.
Review 46:Expensive compared with motels of a similar quality.
Review 47:A lovely location in well kept grounds overlooking the Firth of Thames. A great place to stopover if on a long journey further up the Coromandel Peninsula. Nice deck for breakfast and backed by bush.
Review 48:The room was very bright early morning. Would have liked a blind or curtain in higher bedroom window. An eye mask helped this.
Review 49:the peaceful surrounds and quietness. A lovely holiday even though it rained every day .A lovely coastel town
Review 50:Absolutely EVERYTHING! Right down to the folded toilet paper after house keeping :p owners are fantastic, so friendly and shared a few must see/do places. The chalets are immaculate and I love all the personal touches :)
Review 51:There wasn't anything I didn't like about my stay, only wished I'd been able to spend more than 1 night.
Review 52:I arrived very late and a personal note with the key and directions were left out for me and I really appreciated that level of personal service. I was also coming from a different time zone and asked for a late check out which was no problem.
Review 53:The staff are very friendly, owners highly experienced in the industry, worldy and empathetic in their approach to life and others, with a clear view working hard for their guests and the environment.
