Reviews for Hill 'n' Dale Farm Cottages

Review 1:Unsealed rds and had just rained and the childrens play area was not able to use

Review 2:Was great coming into a warm inviting room fresh milk juice etc and the bed was VERY comfy

Review 3:The moutain view cottage has an amazing view of tall fern trees, wide expanse of blue sky, just the perfect accomodation for families! We got to feed the goats, chickens & ducks reared by our friendly & helpful host, Eddie. Breakfast with eggs, jam, butter, milk, orange juice & even organic spelt bread were provided for. Thank you for such thoughtfulness. When we needed some local produce for dinner, Eddie brought us to his farmer neighbour. We bought farm bred chicken & locally grown vegetables, and even got to visit the farmer's animals such as sheep, farm pigs, chickens & a cute dog called Pipi. Our family enjoyed the stay very much! Highlight of this accomodation was really no access to wifi at the cottage! Away from the distractions of this world. Although city dwellers may still access wifi at Eddie's office area. Highly recommend to any families needing bonding time or couples.

Review 4:A bit of a drive to town, over a gravel road. Doable, but would have been nice to have shops more accessible.

Review 5:Wonderful cottage, super comfortable. Beautiful surroundings, lots of animals, and toys for the kids.

Review 6:Location was very serene and relaxing. Just very peaceful apart from birdsong which was lovely. Facilities were very good and we had a relaxing stay. Great place to recharge the batteries. Host was very friendly and keen to ensure we had everything we required.

Review 7:What a fantastic stay! First weekend away with our 9 month old and couldn't have asked for a more relaxed and beautiful setting. Room photos do not do this property justice! Got to feed the baby goats, rosella's eating out of your hand on the balcony, spa bath and fireplace. What more could you ask for!

Review 8:Not enough baby goats!

Review 9:Great location in a cosy, wood-fire heated cottage. No reception so it is great to switch off and enjoy the walks, wombat spotting, farm animal feeding, spa baths and watching one of the many DVDs available to borrow (free!). The well stocked kitchenette (cooking oil, salt and pepper, pots and pans, etc), surprise breakfast basket and complimentary on-site grown hazelnuts were lovely touches too.

Review 10:Location is fantastic. Property provides opportunities to walk with excellent views. Mostly cottage stays to use as a secluded base to explore Yarra Valley. Farm animals were excellent for children.

Review 11:We had a fantastic time here and could not speak more highly of it. Hosts were very friendly and inviting, it was a wilderness oasis with lots to do and see, and the cabin was clean and comfortable.

Review 12:Our stay could not have been more perfect. We loved everything about Hill 'n' Dale Farm Cottages. Set in a stunning tranquil location. Wildlife at the doorstep. Delicious breakfast basket on arrival. Cosy wood fire to keep us warm. Perfect in every way.

Review 13:Cant think of anything.

Review 14:The location was so quiet and peaceful, everyone was very friendly. The cabins were very nice and comfortable and we really enjoyed the breakfast basket and sitting on the veranda eating the hazelnuts. Was excellent

Review 15:The road down at night can be a bit daunting if you are used to city roads but is well maintained could be a bit scary when wet

Review 16:Pretty much every thing you could need there is provided even the bird seed for the locals. very comfortable and quiet no one to see for miles

Review 17:exterior needs some work - gate to deck broken; deck very cobwebby and needs some maintenance; Some wood in box for fire but sitting in water; Fallen branch in front of deck blocked some of the lovely view of the bush.

Review 18:No wifi. Eggs only for first day. Having to wash my own dishes.

Review 19:We used it as an oasis for a weekend of Grape Grazing. It was perfect. Loved the eggs and bread for brekky. Grateful for laundry. Bedding very comfortable.

Review 20:The pillows and the bed were uncomfortable. Glasses in the pantry were dirty. No bottle opener, egg lift or tongs for cooking. The room had a little musty smell to it. We were woken early in the morning by staff talking and working.

Review 21:Location was great but a little hard to find. Although we loved the fact that we felt like we were miles away from anything. We've talked about coming back for another stay in a couple of months but won't stay near reception again. Stuart was very helpful and polite. Loved the overall laid back country feel.

Review 22:The cottage was secluded, clean, well equipped and great for a relaxing weekend. The staff welcomed us and kept out of our way. There were no obligations on us other than respect the property and have a great stay, and boy did we enjoy it!! I would thoroughly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a brilliant family adventure or a great couple retreat.

Review 34:Wonderful stay, lovely hospitality and a bit of interaction with wildlife and farm animals to boot.

Review 35:Stay wasn't long enough

Review 36:Wildlife and beauty of the bush quiet location away from car noise Breakfast basket

Review 37:Great spot, off the beaten track though.

Review 38:Standard of maintenance

Review 39:Location peace & Quite.Spa.

Review 40:Road into the property rather difficult inn parts. Also, the property was a little difficult to find the first time. The coonara heater obviously had a problem as it would not stay alight.

Review 41:The peace and quiet, far from the maddening crowd!

Review 42:The little cottage was a lovely sport in the middle of forest close to nature walks but on 10 kim to the nearest little town. The staff was very supportive and the hospitality great.
