Reviews for Queenstown Village Apartments

Review 1:Initial confusion over the servicing of the apartment which unfortunately was not dealt with as quickly as we would have expected, however, eventually the problems were suitably rectified and we were very happy with the outcome. Parking availability is limited which led to us having to park our rental car on the road.

Review 2:Excellent apartment located close to the airport which offered high quality furniture/fittings and facilities placing this apartment at the higher end of the holiday apartment market. The apartment offered a superb view over the lake and mountains. Location is outside of the busy Queenstown centre allowing a more peaceful and relaxed holiday, however easy access by car or via the water taxi to all of the facilities expected from this busy holiday venue. Local facilities include a café and restaurants, and an opportunity to hire out electric bikes to explore the local area.

Review 3:Never saw any staff at the apartments, so we had to solve any issues for ourselves. The instructions for getting there and finding parking on site were not very clear. Although the site is generally quiet - we did not enjoy the waterfall sounds next to our apartment from the incompleted site next door. Someone should really clean the mosquito corpses off the roof between guests!

Review 4:Although a little further from the centre of Queenstown, it is easy getting there and back, whether on foot (for the energetic, a long but easy walk) or by public transport. The benefit is that it was quiet and relaxing, with plenty of room for a large group and adequate facilities on site if you did not want to go out.

Review 5:Noisy position. We had a lot of road noise with buses and cars going up and down the road to the Hilton. No furniture on the balcony. We felt it was very expensive for what we got given all the noise level. Parking is also a hassle with the parking building being quite a walk up and down hill to the Hilton. We usually chose to park on the road at the top turn off.

Review 6:Nicely appointed 2 bedroom apartment.

Review 7:There's absolutely nothing we did not like

Review 8:We have stayed in a lot of motels and to be able to get accomodation for our whole family was the added value to top facilities and extraordinary staff Thank you for making our first visit to Queenstown a truly wonderful experience for our children and grandchildren

Review 9:We need share the washing machine and dryer with the cleaner. It made me feeling really bad on washing our baby clothes and undies after the cleaner washed dirty cleaning cloth.

Review 10:Wifi got 5GB per day!

Review 11:Tvs did not work. One bedroom didn't have working lights. Bad communication with Staff leading up to the booking regarding payment and facilities

Review 12:The apartment was great for a group

Review 13:Cleanliness: Salt, Pepper not refilled, Rubbish from previous guests found in cupboard, Dead mosquitos on ceiling, Etc.

Review 14:Beautiful Asset Great location in brand new touristic site

Review 15:Lack of parking spaces, I was traveling with seniors and infant, we had to park down the hill next to double tree and walked back up, it's tough for the seniors. Apartment is very small and the house is made of building materials that echo noise, example closing of doors, people walking upstairs and there is a constant "banging" sound even if it's just a normal opening and closing of doors. With an infant with me, he couldn't get a good sleep.

Review 16:The mountain & lake view apartment is fantastic, well equipped kitchen.

Review 17:The safe did not work and the parking was atrocious. Other guests who obviously were in the know had witched hats that they used to suit themselves. We had to walk up and down the steep hill with heavy shopping, luggage and every time we went out .

Review 18:The location was perfect. Not too close and not too far from the main hub. The apartment itself was perfect.

Review 19:TV's didn't work on first night but this was resolved the following day. No washing machine powder. Normally there is at least a small sachet.

Review 20:Nice spacious and warm. Plenty of room for the kids to be out of our way, well equipped and modern.

Review 21:the Sky TV did not work, the stove elements would not turn off and only controled with the wall switch! The brochure says gym and pool but we were not aloud to use these. The parking was to far away from the unit. No salt and pepper they were empty! The safe was already locked and no access. No dish washing liquid.

Review 22:Location

Review 23:only some minor maintenance issues with internal doors.

Review 24:Had everything we needed. Liked the parking some distance away as it was a chance to work off the excess from indulgence by walking back up the hill

Review 25:The noise from cars driving over the Hilton Hotels loading bay Grill. Bloody annoying . Hilton should be made aware it is noisy and needs fixing.

Review 26:Location suited . Close to everything we needed.

Review 27:The Wifi somehow got used up in the very first night despite very little use -- weird! But the staff helped us out and remedied the situation.

Review 28:Amazing views from every room of the penthouse -- we loved seeing the landscape change throughout the day. Beds were comfy, bathrooms nice and kitchen was great for cooking!

Review 29:Quite small living space for 8 people.

Review 30:Pretty location by the lake but further out from queenstown than expected. Good water taxi once an hour. Kitchen facilities good and tv room for the kids. Helpful staff in the Hilton Hotel when needing to store bikes. Great walking/cycling track around the peninsula.

Review 31:Balcony, not so well maintained and quite dirty. At night, a lot of mosquitoes fly into the room. May is summer time.

Review 32:Bedroom, very comfort and we all rest while in all nights.

Review 33:The weekend we stayed the Hilton was closed for a private function, and consequently the whole village within the complex, including restaurants, bars, spa and tourist information. The stay would have been much more enjoyable if these facilities were open, therefore I would recommend to ask when booking, as we were not told and I feel we should have been. I am not sure how often this would be an issue.

Review 34:The room was impeccable, facilities within the room were excellent with a full kitchen and everything we needed. It is part of the Hilton complex which has shops and apparently you can walk down to the lake, which would have been lovely except we weren't able to utilize these facilities during our stay.

Review 35:The only down side to the apartments is the lack of parking. Difficult to unpack outside apartment when buses coming and going from the Hilton complex. And a long way down hill to park car in designated park under Hilton complex.

Review 36:The apartment had everything we required and more. Plenty of room for a group of friends enjoying a weekend away. Lovely view.

Review 37:Advertising promoted it as a lake view apartment. The reality was a view of the back of the Hilton Hotel. On complaining we were told this was up to the manager, not Booking.com and that this was advertised as a "village view" apartment. We were never told this. The on site parking was in another building 500 metres away gown a steep hill. To make matters worse, the whole precinct was booked out for a private function so we could not use any of the restaurants, and we were accosted by security guards every time we went for a walk or collected our car. Not impressed.

Review 38:Well appointed 2 bedroom unit.

Review 39:Our 12 seater van was too tall to park in the double garage, therefore we had to park on the main road, which meant a daily short steep hike uphill. We loved the layout, but mentioned that it would have been better if there were more sofa seats in the main lounge area, as the kids had to hang out in the upstairs retreat, so the family felt a little divided at times.

Review 40:Our extended family of 9 (6 adults and 3 teenage kids) stayed in the 5bdrm apartment for 4 days over Labour Weekend 2014. The apartment was well resourced, modern and very clean, which made up for the lack of mountain/lake views. Beds were comfy and we made good use of the electric blankets and panel heaters. The location is a 5min drive to the airport and Frankton shopping centre. There are also a few lovely restaurants there. Alternatively you can walk across to the Hilton for a meal, drink or snack from one of their four bars/restaurants. We LOVED this place and would definitely stay here again.

Review 41:Disappointed there was no water view and at parking too far away especially when you have a toddler with slot of gear.

Review 42:Good location, quiet. Spacious apartment

Review 43:The one and only down point to the apartment was the parking! Very poor parking even though it is free and is on offer it was a long cold walk from the C block apartments.

Review 44:The apartment had everything we needed and more, it was spacious. Clean and very homely. We enjoyed that the apartment was out of Queenstown however a cheap Water taxi was available if needed. We will back next year :)

Review 45:We were very disappointed with our accommodation at Village Queenstown. We paid almost $450 per night for what we thought was top quality accommodation and it did not reach our expectations – far from it. • We were told we had a garage – no garage – and no instructions on where to park when we arrived – we had to ask one of the owners of one of the other apartments. This was very inconvenient and one of the reasons we went with Village Queenstown as we thought we had a garage – with a lot of ski gear to drag around this was a major hassle for us • The wallpaper on the wall as you come in the front door is peeling off • The second bathroom fan was very noisy – to the point we were unable to sleep until it turned itself off • The plumbing upstairs was also very noisy – the sound of a tap turning on and off at 5am is very disturbing • On one occasion, the hot water ran out – after one bath • The television in the lounge is outdated and virtually impossible to watch • There was condensation inside the rooms by the sliding doors every morning – this is very unhealthy • The apartment was very very stuffy – almost like there was central heating. We did not use the heaters in the rooms and the only way to cool the apartment down was to open the sliding doors in the bedrooms – we were unable to open the doors in the lounge Clearly this was a very disappointing experience for us. This was the first family holiday we had had in 4 years and to get accommodation like this for the price we paid is absolutely unacceptable.

Review 46:The location & the Village

Review 47:Not as close to queenstown as I thought we hired a car that made it easier and then we could do what we want. The stovetop is very slow but nothing really negative to say

Review 48:I loved the house was fantastic to be able to have a home away from home and the free wifi was fantastic having older children the 1 gb went fast the speed of the net was great too

Review 49:There is no parking space at all. Our apartment is located right on the main road. It is difficult to park and unload luggages escpecailly for this size of apartment with more than 10 people and suitcases.

Review 50:I like that it has a extra living lounge for kids to play separated from adult living room.

Review 51:Good location and clean apartment

Review 52:Lack of parking is a pain.

Review 53:Nice view over lake. Comfortable apartment.

Review 54:Nothing really. Enjoyed our stay.

Review 55:Very comfortable. Had a very relaxing time.

Review 56:There was no reception

Review 57:Very tidy and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended and looking forward to staying again.

Review 58:Poor signage. Difficult to actually find unit

Review 59:Excellent 2 bedroom apartment

Review 60:Was perfect for a group or family stay . Loved the super comfy beds .

Review 61:The rooms are a bit small. One of the apartment does not have any view at all as promised.

Review 62:1gb of Internet a day among 7 wasn't much

Review 63:Decor and lots of bathrooms

Review 64:The penthouse do not have a private carparking space beside the penthouse and the allocated carpark space is quite far away from the apartment

Review 65:The penthouse i am staying in have excellant view of smowcap mountain and lake wakatipu

Review 66:That you had to pay full amount before you arrived and we were down one couple so there was no refund

Review 67:The ease of getting in and lack of waiting for staff. The system ran really well.

Review 68:Not having a bbq to utilise. Could have done with an extra comfy chair in the lounge. The smell in the ground floor foyer was quite bad - smelt like someone had been fishing! This was on most days. Car parking: we had an allocated space undercover at the bottom of the hill - someone parked in our spot one day and we didn't know what to do. It was also a bit of a hike up the hill, but kept us fit!

Review 69:The location was handy to the airport, golf courses and Arrowtown. Nice to be able to cook for ourselves in the apartment. Loved the fire in the main bedroom and lounge. The large balcony with all the seating was great too. The eateries in the village were fantastic. The ferry from the Hilton into Queenstown was also a great way to travel.

Review 70:Little parking close by. The allocated space is quite far down the hill.

Review 71:Very spacious and comfortable apartment with lovely big deck and stunning views.

Review 72:We stayed here for 4 nights and everyone enjoyed staying here. Although it is a little far from the city centre, there is New World relatively close by, and we always drive, so it wasn't a problem. Stunning view from apartment windows! Definitely come back next time.

Review 73:We love Village Queenstown. The apartment has very nice lake view and everything in the house are at excellent quality. We had 10 people in the trip and share 6 ensuite bedrooms. Everyone enjoyed the time in the apartment. Definitely we will recommend to everyone wants to go to Queenstown!

Review 74:The location is rather far from the Queenstown centre, It takes about 10-15 mins to drive to the city centre. Maybe the apartment is renovated recently, the smell is strong. The most disappointing point is that this apartment is NOT SERVICED! You need to make ur own bed, clean the room. Considering we are here on holiday, Im not expecting to do that! If you want to be serviced there will be extra charge. Thats how we are running out of toilet paper, shampoo and nobodys here replacing things for us. Dispite all the cons, Overall this is not a bad choice, Queenstown is fabulous afterall.

Review 75:The apartment is really stunning, the view is great. But thats all the good things I can say about it.

Review 76:Garage a bit small to park 2 cars not much parking outside

Review 77:Spacious and cosy with gas fire. The xtra tv room upstairs.

Review 78:The shortage of convenient parking.

Review 79:The outlook and the water taxi into town.

Review 80:Thought the parking for the unit was a bit to be desired!

Review 81:Lake view, fully furnished and everything.
