Reviews for Hotel Villa Trompenberg
Review 1:Mattress was on the soft end, would have been nice if email for early check-in was enough (since it was low season, ample free rooms), rather than phone call also. Was missing a bread toaster.
Review 2:Breakfast! Free tea/coffee/hot cocoa in breakfast/lounge room, Location near nature (cycle to forests, quaint villages) and culture (Naarden, Muiderslot, museums and historical architecture in Amsterdam and Utrecht). Great bathrooms, sizeable bed and room!!
Review 3:Our every need was catered for. Even amazing green tea bags. We dined, by the way, at the tapas restaurant in Hilversum - Great fun. We took the advice of another reviewer and asked for room 4.Good choice.
Review 4:Everything!! The place is very clean and neat. The price is not high, and by using the park and ride option, it is very comfortable to visit and travel in Amsterdam!
Review 5:Limited access to evening meals
Review 6:Friendly helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Large clean rooms (cleaned daily) Continental breakfast (wide variety to choose from)
Review 7:Slightly out of the way if you don't have a car

Review 9:No check-in time bothering, well organised, confortable room and bathroom. The human presence of the owner was just there when neccessary: on breakfast time, to wish a good day!
Review 10:This is one of the best hotels in my experience. Hotel Villa Trompenberg is cozy, clean, beautiful, well-located for travellers with car. We had room number 4, it has own entrance to the private garden - magnificent. Breakfast is fine. And they even have unlimited supply of free hot tea, real tea, not packets.

Review 33:Convenient location for traveling to Amsterdam, good local restaurant,, very comfortable, well run and well appointed B&B. Thank you
Review 34:Absolutely nothing, a perfect place to stay.
Review 35:I enjoyed completely this accomodation and I recommend it 100%. The best bed in the world, the owners very kind and friendly, excelent service, excelent breakfasts, excelent house, excelent place, excelent, excelent, excelent... Everything was very easy even though there was no reception from 10:30 a.m. Everything is very well thought and foreseen, so there is no need for the guest.
Review 36:Beautiful hotel, very quiet, great decor, centrally located, nice staff, bikes available, good coffee and tea, good breakfast. Great for business people. Feels like a home.
Review 37:Not enough light in the room Expected a more personal and warm welcome by the landlady.
Review 38:New and clean The surroundings Breakfast in the breakfast room
Review 39:To leave the hotel.
Review 40:Room 8 is large, with excellent double bed with topping and quiet. Breakfast is superb for € 10,- Owner/manager is very hospitable. This small hotel can compete with any 5 star unit. Safe and free parking.
Review 41:Not a big issue, but the stairs are very narrow, since this is an old building, and there is no elevator. Be aware of that before you book. I believe that there are some rooms on the ground floor, too, so if this is an issue, you can probably ask for one of those.
Review 42:Our room was large and comfortable, the beds were superb and the bathroom was fantastic, complete with super-deep bathtub. Parking was easy - right outside the hotel. We used this hotel as our base to visit Amsterdam which is about 30 minutes away by train. Recommend you use the main train station which has more frequent train service than the satellite station. The hotel building is charming - an old-style villa in a park-like area. We very much enjoyed our stay and had no problem with the "unattended" reception in the afternoons/evening. On our first night there, we needed to have a light bulb changed in one of the bed-side lights. We called the number for reception and within no more than two minutes, the owner brought the new light bulb. This is better service than we have received in hotels with supposedly 24-hour service.
Review 43:No comment necessary.
Review 44:The hotel location, convenient car parking provision and access to the city centre are important considerations for staying at Villa Trompenberg. These factors are significantly complemented by the comfortable facilities, personal service and the friendly approach by Familie Theunissen and hotel staff that have always been of the highest order during our many extended stays at Villa Trompenberg over the last 13 years we have made the hotel our home away from home (in Australia).
Review 45:The hotel is absolutely incredible. Friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, beautiful building and neighbourhood. I really enjoyed drinking tea at the breakfastroom when I pleased, really felt like home. No remarks, everything was just perfect and I will definitely stay there again when I visit the Netherlands.
Review 46:Non ce ascensore per arrivare al secondo piano e non c e ristorante interno e la villa si trova un po' isolata
Review 47:La villa trasformata in albergo e molto bene arredata e confortevole. Camere stupende. Colazione varia e di alta qualità !
Review 48:It is a bit of a walk to the main town of Hilversum.
Review 49:Beautiful hotel. Lovely rooms, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, free wi-fi. Very helpful staff. The hotel is self service most of the time but felt safe and extremely welcoming.
Review 50:It was a little strange that the dsk was not attended for checkin They should also think about changing the door passcode occasionally. The wear on the number pad does not leave much to the imagination
Review 51:Very quiet. Beautiful location The property has been wonderfully maintained Internet service worded well.
Review 52:We didn't care for the 10 euro/person per/night price for the breakfast which was above the cost of the room.
Review 53:We loved the location, outside of the busy downtown zone and yet close to the Hilversulm Noord train stop. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. The location is very quiet.
Review 54:Excellent value for money, the cleanliness and courtesy of the staff best we have ever been in. 5 star performance at 3 star prices. Room good design with walk through french windows to the garden. Plenty parking and easy transport links to the rail network. Near the centre of Hilvesum for shops and restuarants. Would recommend to any one visiting that part of the Netherlands.
Review 55:Near a street with heavy traffic. As it was a very hot day and there is no A/C, we had to open the windows which compounded the problem even on a Saturday night
Review 56:Cosy, very nice place. Suite was very large and well furnished. Access to fruits and free tee & coffee
Review 57:The bathroom is minuscule. If you are big you won´t fit inside it. Thewalls of the room are painted black, too dark. It is far away fromAmsterdã, you have to walk 15 minutes and take a train that costs 11Euros and takes 30 minutes to reach Amsterdã. No places to eat nearby. The area is not safe. We parked our car in the hotel area and we had thecar´s window broken during the night. Don´t expect any help from theowner. We had to remove the glass from inside the car by ourselves andfind our way to the police station.
Review 58:Well organised and clean in a relaxing environment. Close to the town without being too close, a fifteen minute to the centre of town and two railway stations.
Review 59:The beds are uncomfortably soft mattresses and they do the usual thingof pushing two twins together and thinking it makes one big bed. Therewere no bedside tables and the lighting was so low that it wasimpossible to read at night. Also, though they say they provide serviceuntil noon. Self-service seems to start some days at 11 or even 10:30.Also, it is located in a totally residential area very far from ANY commercial/dining establishments.
Review 60:It's a beautifully furnished and nice old building. With spacious rooms--apart from the tiny bathroom. The grounds are lovely. The staff is niceand helpful.
Review 61:no complains but be aware that you have to use the entrance code sent by the hotel and not the pincode on the voucher of booking.com If you don't have the code, just ring the bell at the entrance and they will help you.
Review 62:the simple and quick check in concept by self service. clean, clean, clean, very important. warm atmosphere with candlelight and background music, good, included coffee/tea. for the best hotel in hilversum and surrounding.
Review 63:My young adult son and I visited Amsterdam and stayed in the neighboring town of Hilversum while it was a 30 minute taxi and train ride to Amsterdam Central, the hotel was beautiful Wonderful staff. Wonderful facility. Very personal and intimate. Recommend.
