Reviews for Chiangkhong Teak Garden Hotel
Review 1:Only a few stafmembers understood a tiny bit of English. To less relax chairs near the pool. Nothing to do in Chiang Rai
Review 2:Very nice location, beautiful view
Review 3:Rather pricey compared to others in Chiang Khong, but was far superior (international standard) than the usual low standard "build and forget the maintenance" Thai run accommodation in the village that we experience these last 15 years.
Review 4:We booked a room with river view balcony and hot tub on the balcony - fabulous. The bed was so comfortable. Pool was nicely located looking over the river. Breakfast ommelete and coffee really nice. we travel to Chiang Kong every year - it is really picking up with river walk and flowers - well done.
Review 5:The restaurant at the hotel was amazing, great prices, a very nice view of the Mekong river, plus the food was wonderful. Some of our favourite in Thailand. Also the pool was beautiful, infinity pool overlooking the river
Review 6:the staff need to be trained urgently, a manager should be present.
Review 7:the location along the Mekhong. Nice restaurant with a good view. the bed is comfortable, nothing to say for the bedroom. perfect !
Review 8:Expansion constructions spoil the relaxing atmosphere
Review 9:Our rooms were nice and clean with excellent view of the river and garden. The small sitting/balcony was also nice and relaxing. Food (lunch) was also good with good range of dishes/styles (Thai and western).
Review 10:We had a room in December (Thai winter) and I found it cold. The blanket/quilts were not warm enough and there were no extra blankets in the room in case we got cold in the middle of the night. It made for a very uncomfortable night.
Review 11:Nice location with views of the river from the hotel. We didn't get the bungalow with the river view but the views from the public spaces in the hotel were lovely and it was close enough to get done to the river front.
Review 12:Great view, room and atmosphere. Lovely meal in the restaurant overlooking the river in the evening and the for the included breakfast we got to choose from a full menu. Suited all our needs and more. Great value.
Review 13:Our room did not come with breakfast. So we paid to have but was defiantly not worth it.
Review 14:When I had geckos running round my room they changed me to another. clean rooms, friendly staff although their English is very shallow.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Beautiful gardens Well appointed and spacious rooms with balcony Excellent location overlooking the Mekong Friendly helpful staff Quiet area Free transfer to bus station
Review 17:A bit pricey, although not exorbitantly so. In any case, there does not seem to be much choice in this category.
Review 18:Stayed one night in order to cross the border first thing (8 AM) next morning and catch the slow boat to Luang Prabang. Would have preferred to cross the night before but was under the false impression that it closes at 6PM (actually it is open till 10PM but there is a surcharge on the visa fee). The hotel was fine, everything worked and was clean and well maintained. This included the wifi which was surprisingly fast given the remoteness of the town. The combination of a riverside location and proximity to town is excellent. Having said that, the on-site restaurant appeared to be one of the best in town; apparently even some locals had dropped in for a meal.
Review 19:Some construction going on but looks near completion.
Review 20:Lovely rooms with a great view.
Review 21:no hot water
Review 22:great location, lovely staff

Review 32:Chiang khong is a very small place, just helpful if you need to stay just for 1 night.
Review 33:good location. staff friendly and helpful.
Review 34:Lovely hotel situated right on the banks of the Mekong, lovely staff and good room, value for money, enjoyed our short stay here
Review 35:View from balcony while having a yummy dinner
Review 36:Overlooking river with small pleasant restaurant.
Review 37:Staff friendly and happy to help. Great room and a great place to stop before heading into Laos
Review 38:Nothing .
Review 39:The room was more than adequate and bathroom was excellent .
Review 40:Everything was great! Room very well designed. Clean and comfortable. Restaurant with a beautiful view on the Mekong.
Review 41:Good Khong river view from the balcony. Nice bicycle and walking trail along river Khong in front of hotel room.
Review 42:The food was not good, the only fault.
Review 43:It was spotlessly clean. Good location, very friendly staff and cheap.
Review 44:Breakfast was ghastly, bed uncomfortable room was small, bathroom and shower poor. Front desk had little grasp of English.
Review 45:Location.
Review 46:rooms too small, mataze to hard, bathroom too little too!
Review 47:die Lage
Review 48:We only stayed one night, however everything was perfect. Have rarely seen such excellent service in a restaurant in which we had dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food we ordered was just fantastic! The property is very well taken care of. The room has had everything what you need and an excellent shower - with running hot and cold water- just what one actually would expect but which is hard to find in Thailand.
Review 49:Quite expensive. We wanted to eat at the hotel's riverside restaurant rather than the one in the courtyard but were told it was full. It wasn't full so we ate at the Thai hotel along the road. Breakfast poor.
Review 50:Free upgrade to Riverside room with balcony, although it would have been worth the extra anyway. Large room with very good facilities.
Review 51:I liked everything.
Review 52:I stayed only one night at this hotel before crossing the border between Thailand and Laos, but I really enjoyed these few hours: the hotel has a wonderful location with beautiful views of the Mekong, the rooms and the garden are pleasant, dinner was tasty and breakfast plentiful and offering many choices. Moreover, the hotel staff are extremely helpful.
Review 53:We were only there a few hours but we seemed to be quite a way out of town.
Review 54:Lovely setting. This was a transit stop. This hotel was a very nice surprise.
Review 55:There was no warm water. breakfast was a little bit poor and staff do not speak English. when leaving they first want to inspect the rooms. Strange!
Review 56:Bungalo style room with a beautiful view over the Mekong river. restaurants close by.
Review 57:Teak Garden Resort - Chiang Khong. From the road this hotel looks basic, however when inside it is very nice. Set in lovely gardens, the rooms are modern and very clean and well appointed. We dined in their restaurant overlooking the Mekong River. It was a beautiful setting. Dinner was also accompanied by a small group playing lovely Lao music. The food was extremely good as was the wine. This is a great place to stay
Review 58:Cooked breakfast (eggs etc) is served cold!
Review 59:A comfortable modern hotel set in garden sourrounds overlooking theMekong River. Spotlessly clean and very friendly helpful staff. Freetransport to the nearby river port and crossing to Laos. Good food inrestaurant, except breakfast.
Review 60:The room was expensive for the size and standard and we were charged~$20usd for an extra bed, which was a basic stretcher. There were fourof us in the room but only three pillows provided. I hadn't realisedit until we were going to bed so just made do. We ate dinner at therestaurant for convenience sake, and the food was pretty awful. Weshould have eaten the street food on offer. There was some awesome friedchicken and whole grilled fish just down the road.
Review 61:Location was ideal - we were staying for one night before crossing theborder to Houay Xai in Laos, to take the slow boat to Luang Prabang. Thehotel dropped us off at the immigration checkpoint for no additionalcharge. They also had breakfast on offer from 6:30am, which meant we hadplenty of time to eat before crossing the border at 8am.
Review 62:Lack of atmosphere, hotels in Chiang Khong really just cater for people like ourselves who are staying for a night before travelling to/from Laos
Review 63:Rooms are modern and comfortable. Nice balcony with river views
Review 64:The breakfast was very poor, we expected more for that price.
Review 65:We stayed only one night as a stopover to Laos on the next morning. The room was very nice, good air condition and wonderful views over the Mekong. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the boarder to Laos.
Review 66:No hot water in one of our rooms.
Review 67:Location was great, lovely meal in the dining room overlooking the Mekong.
Review 68:Very poor breakfast setting.
Review 69:Excellent rooms and location.
Review 70:Nothing to dislike
Review 71:Fabulous views, great staff, great location on Mekong River. Unhesitatingly recommended
