Reviews for Relax Inn Birmingham
Review 1:the location was kind of scary. At night. Was o.k once day hit. The trains and police siren going all night.
Review 2:The bed. Very comfortable. And the hot water. For a good bath.
Review 3:It was kind of run down building so the air conditioner took too long to cool the room, the office closed after certain hour and we Ddnt have any other snack to get to, the beds were kind off hard and hurt my back
Review 4:The wifi was okay to keep contact with family back home, and it had microwave and fridge for our convenience
Review 5:The area is over run with people begging for money among other things. The staff assists you from behind a glass, and you receive a tv remote from the slot under the glass. There room was decent, yet it smelled horrible. Also both door locks were broken. Don't be fooled by other reviews like we were. This place is not safe.
Review 6:The office staff was not friendly. Office was very poor. No lobby at all. Hotel doors were not updated for security. Cigarette burns on tub and smelled of stale nicotine. Hotel gave bad impression upon arrival. Not enough parking.
Review 7:The staff cleaned the room and restocked quickly. The hotel was near interstate. Noise wasn't as bad as I thought being near the interstate.
Review 8:In a very poor part of town with run down houses next door. Didn't feel safe being outside. The units needed some repairs and updating.
Review 9:Very convenient to freeway system. Room was nicely maintained with clean towels and linens.
Review 10:bathroom could do with upgrading and we could not connect to the wifi at all.
Review 11:great value basic accomodation fairly close to downtown area, convenient for our short stay in town.
Review 12:I didn't stay there and they charged my credit card anyway ...when I told them ahead of time I was not going to stay there I had relocated its just not right bottomline
Review 13:No daily maid service for room
Review 14:Close to airport
Review 15:No bulbs in the lamps,no clock, very little toilet tissue,no iron, had to ask for everything.
Review 16:Location,staff was nice
Review 17:We are knocking bugs out of the bed and will you please do something about them
Review 18:It wasn't clean a rat trap!!!!!
Review 19:It was n the city limits.
Review 20:The room was not the cleanest and was suppose to be none smoking but it smelled like cigarette smoke
Review 21:Friendly staff and close to the freeway
Review 22:acceptable place for a couple of guys, too scary for a family
Review 23:you get what you pay for
Review 24:Wi-Fi doesn't work
Review 25:The mattress was very uncomfortable. and pillows were quite flat. Only had one very small trash can for the entire room ..
Review 26:The room was clean & parking right by the door. Price was cheap for our very short stay.
Review 27:The neighborhood is not the greatest, people yelling and cussing loudly in the parking lot. I did see to roaches (bugs) when we first arrived but after killing them did not see any others.
Review 28:It was not bad for the price. Relatively clean and the staff was nice. The location is great for access to the interstate. The WiFi was great as well.
Review 29:The adjoining neighborhood.
Review 30:I was very pleased with the overall stay at the Relax Inn.. When I firstarrived I thought omg, What have I done? ... the neighborhood next doorto this property is completely run-down and dangerous looking. It was too late to find another motel so I walked in to the office and got my room. The housekeeper was on duty at the front desk, she was very nice and very helpful... she assured us that there were security cameras everywhere on the property and the police department on speed dial. She said we were perfectly safe there on the property but not to go walking off the property because it was "not safe for white people" ... not a problem, looking across or down the street was enough to see that there was nothing for me. This property is right on the interstate, so it is sandwhiched between the safety of the freeway and a neighborhood very high in poverty... luckily it faces the freeway so being there you dont see what is behind you The beds were very comfortable. The A/C was spitting snow balls on a very hot and muggy Alababa summer day.... i was glad there were clean linens to snuggle under. The room was clean and smelled good. The microwave and small fridge worked great. The TVs were old and the picture wasnt good but I wasnt there to watch TV. The WIFI worked great in every part of the room and there was plenty of hot water for my morning shower. This was an excellent value and not only did I save 50% of what I would have paid elsewhere, I was still an easy 5 miles from downtown south side... no need to take freeway when 1st Ave N has very few lights to slow you down. I will definitely stay here again the next time I need a place in Birmingham. Oh and nice well tended flowers and plants out on the courtyard..
Review 31:This was the worst hotel I think I have ever stayed at, bar none. It was filthy, I asked for a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room (at midnight you are less inclined to ask to switch, especially after traveling the entire day). The toilet was coming loose from the floor, cigarette burns on the bathtub, the AC control knobs didn't work (you had to take them off and twist the metal post with your hand). Somebody brought a pickup truck into the parking lot at 8:30 to haul a car away making noises with tools, etc., people yelling outside the rooms at 8AM or earlier. There was really nothing redeeming at all about this place and I would never repeat the experience.
Review 32:The only positive was the price - but $50+ is well-beyond what this hotel should have cost.
Review 33:Old out dated
Review 34:The area was a little disconcerting and the hotel was a little run down.
Review 35:For the money and for a one night stay it was ok.
Review 36:Pretty old but it did the trick
Review 37:Cheap accommodation. Half way between Memphis and Atlanta, it's just off highway
