Reviews for Colby Cottages

Review 1:Never stayed in a place where everything was so simple to operate. The fireplace worked so well as did the modern heating when required. We appreciated little touches such as scented oil burners next to the spa.

Review 2:We loved everything about Colby cottages. From the moment we arrived we knew that we were going to have an awesome time. The owners were so warm and friendly. We will definitely be back again soon.

Review 3:All the facilities were of a high standard, breakfast supplied was lovely. The hosts are so accommodating and friendly, which is another reason we go back there.you are not wanting for anything.

Review 4:Location. Unfortuantely, the property is a drive to town (and anywhere else) without car or bikes, there's not a lot to see or do. Which for a couple is fine - there's lots of opportunity to kick back and relax on the verandah (or in the spa) - but for family groups I'd recommend somewhere closer. Breakfast provisions didn't stretch to feed family of four over two mornings, which was disappointing as the quality of the ingredients was first rate. Extra charges per child made total nightly rate quite steep (esp as only 2 of 3 bdrms in use) well in excess of comparable properties in Beechworth, or Bright. Had we realised earlier, we would have opted for one of those alternatives as better value for money. But for couple - it's worth another stay.

Review 5:Cottage is to be admired! Lot of hard work has gone into this place and it is beautifully put together, with all the amenities needed for comfortable stay. Owners very friendly and discreet. Breakfast provisions were delicious, but not very substantial for family sized group.

Review 6:We liked the cottage, which was beautiful, the privacy, the views, the alpacas, everything about the place was just wonderful. We could have easily stayed for much, much longer.

Review 7:Nothing negative. Having to leave, haha.

Review 8:The isolation. Sitting on the back verandah with a glass on wine in hand watching the setting of the sun, alpacas in the background.. Perfect, a slice of heaven. Look forward to a return..

Review 9:Very well thought out and equipped cottage. Lovely and friendly hosts.

Review 23:Nothing not to like.

Review 24:The cottage had everything you could need. It was our 43rd Wedding anniversary and we could not have picked a better place. Wonderful breakfast provided. Complementary chocolates and port. Our hosts Andrew and Glenda were friendly and helpful. Wood was always made available for the fire. We would loved to have stayed another 5 days. HOSPITALITY MUST BE RATED 10/10.

Review 25:There really isn't anything bad to be said about our stay! We were in the Captain's cottage and it was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Our hosts were so friendly and relaxed and best of all GENUINE. The cottage had absolutely everything you could need and want, was clean with no bugs or spiders, was stunning and private, and had a homely feel that you just don't get from modern hotels. The back porch had a great view of the landscape also. The breakfast provided was more than generous, with enough to provide for two mornings worth of breakfast actually. We were extremely sad to leave but will definitely be back again!

Review 26:The location and tranquility. The old world charm with attention to detail and the functionality.A big spa is always a bonus!!Not to mention the wonderful hosts

Review 27:The personal touches - complementary chocolates and port, a stereo complete with CDs in the lounge and in the bathroom, DVDs, electric blankets on the bed for cold winter nights.
