Reviews for Sabaii Bay Resort

Review 1:Nothing special

Review 2:Pretty everything, the hotel is very nice. It has a very nice view on the see. In a quiet place. All accommodation near by. Rooms are really nice, big and modern. Very good value for the price.

Review 3:Music wasn't exactly our taste. Restaurant could open earlier. Long bumby road (5 min walk) to main street.

Review 4:So sweet owners and staff, did everything to meet our needs. Good and inexpensive restaurant. Nice laundry service. Fine pool. Walking distance to big c shopping center with lots of fun for kids 0-10 years + shopping for diapers, quick lunch and whatever.

Review 5:Zero hooks or shelves so everything ended up on the ant-covered floors. No kettle or cups in the room. Some staff had zero Smiles and an attitude. Staff often absent from reception. Flooded access road. Very expensive for the facilities available.

Review 6:Very comfy bed. Nice pool.

Review 7:Nothing, was excellent!

Review 8:Extremely friendly staff. Very clean and modern rooms. Excellent pool with 2 bars. Located on the beach with lots of hammocks and swings etc. Will definitely return!! Great food too! And close to shops and bars. Staying here made my trip!

Review 9:Beach shoes recommended due to rough sand. Long strech of shallow water if you want to swim in the sea. If you stay n a bungalow close to the bar, you will not get a lot of sleep before midnight - at least in the high season. A lot of small repairs necessary - if you five them a chance to fix it, they will, even if it takes a couple of days. Not one of the best beaches in Koh Phangan.

Review 10:At the south end of Tong Sala close to the red light section, but far enough to not incomodate. Very nice pool. Good restaurant - prices only slightly higher than in the street. Well working air conditioning. Friendly people, familiy run. Excelent laundry service. Good place to be to go exploring by scooter, shopping, and some night live close by.

Review 11:Be careful of lighting!!! - broke my toe on a slab near the bungalowsdue to no lighting anywhere!!! Right at the back on the property behindsome bushes we were placed in a tiny little hut. Room was so small andbarely able to walk round the entire bed, aircon was placed above thebed, which gave me the flue as a consequence. There was a tiny littlelight in the ceiling, no tv, no lamps - just a bed. Laundry took 3 daysand was an extortionate price.I also had an unforeseen circumstance occur the start of December.. Emailed to cancel my booking on the 10th of December.. The property replied the 24th of December the day AFTER I'd checked in staying they couldn't sell the room and had already taken half the money but would keep trying to sell it.. Even though 1) I'd checked in and payed in cash and 2) the entire island was full as it was full moon parties from 24th-31st!! Such a disappointment this property never mind the broken toe!

Review 12:We got the night boat over to koh phangan as we travelled from Patong sowe ended up arriving at 7am. An old lady spotted us and put us on thesofa in the lounge. Reception opened at 9am and we were checked in 2hours early. New front of house bartender is lovely!the view is to die for.. But anyone can walk along the beach and sit on the benches and swings...

Review 13:The street from road to the hotel was very bad.

Review 14:Nice stay at bungalow for 4persons.clean and comfortable room. Big and new pool near the sea... Friendly and helpful staff... 10mimutes from the center. Definitely is value for money.

Review 15:Although it is an island and there was a decent amount of rain, we had a lot of ants. Inside and out of the bungalow... And unfortunately they came into the bed too, but the staff cleaned the room and killed the ants immediately. Wasn't anything the resort could of done to prevent it (except maybe fill in some of the holes in the walls/ Windows).

Review 16:The owners are very nice, and the resort restaurant had delicious food. The views are phenomenal and the location is prime. There are a lot of great amenities very close to the resort - I.e. Bars, grocery story, restaurant.

Review 17:The photos were photoshoped, because the bungalows were very poor, bad hygiene, TV did not work, no shower gel/shampoo, old towels;located in an area isolated from town. Charged extra 10% for paying in credit card.

Review 18:The pool was nice and had friendly employees, providing transfer for pier.

Review 19:We did not end up staying at the accomodation as their was mould on our wall, a gap between the door and frame and dust flying out of the air conditioner.

Review 20:The staff were very friendly and pool facilities were good

Review 21:The only issue we had was that the room configuration was not right for some of our roofs. They did fix this for us tho

Review 22:Staff are friendly and helpful. We left our room deposit behind by mistake and they drove out to drop it off at the harbor.

Review 23:The bungalow was disappointing, it did not lock from the inside, therefore could not be locked whilst we were in it. The fittings were poor and therefore insects(ants, cockroaches etc) easily made their way in through the closed glass doors. The price of bottled water was four times more expensive at reception compared to the nearest shop(ten minute walk). There was also constant construction going on within the complex so peace and tranquility was non existent with the constant noise of drilling.

Review 24:The pool was lovely, with a view direct to the gorgeous beach

Review 25:Not value for money. We booked 3 months in advanced and paid too much, when we got there we realize we could pay 50% less for the same room if we had booked 1 day before.

Review 26:swimming pool area. Transport to full moon party 100 bath each.

Review 27:We had an excellent experience in Sabaii Bay. We stayed for 8 nights. The owner was very helpful and upgraded our room free of charge when I an issue with my room. The resort have a really nice pool and a good restaurant in place.

Review 28:they could have provided fresher cooked meals with regard to the noodles that came in a packet

Review 29:the location was right on a beach and the pool was amazing, staff really nice and helpful

Review 30:the rooms are very small and simple, we got upgraded because we were in honeymoon, and the room was much better (but still very simple), they had no room with a double bed, so we had to put 2 single beds together. the location of the hotel is a bit far form anything. about 5 minutes walk from the main road where you can find a supermarket and a few bars & restaurants. , nothing exciting a bit overpriced for what you get, due to the full moon party (and the price doesn't include breakfast)

Review 31:the pool, the beach, the staff was very nice and friendly, tried to help us with anything we asked

Review 32:We didn't like that for example on movie night you couldn't bring your own snacks while there was like two packs of small Pringels to buy . Room wasn't clean properly after we asked to clean in , and duvet wasn't changed . There wasn't no one in reception during the night so if u had any problem you had to wait till morning .

Review 33:Nice swimming pool, movie night , snooker , lady owner very nice person and you can see that she cares much about her business ,

Review 34:Staff very rude. We had to get a boat back to koh Samui at 8am and they told us they would have a taxi for us at 7:40. Got to office at half 7 and no one about. Had to go and wake someone up so we could check out. Never met anyone to walk as slow as she did. When she finally checked us out it was 7:50 and we asked about our taxi and then she again walked so slow and had to go and wake someone up to take us. Terrible service and she was sooooo rude. Luckily enough we made our boat after telling him to drive fast. Wasn't even apologetic. Never stay here again It's down a little dirt road which is surrounded by locals. We walked past one day and saw people washing themselves naked outside

Review 35:Right next to the beach.

Review 36:We intially got given a standard quad bungalow, it had concrete floors, walls and shower. The mattress was on a raised concrete slab and there was gaps in the windows and door. The door only locked with a padlock and no safe was provided. However, after complaining we got moved to a different room which was ten times better! Staff was very accommodating to this.

Review 37:Great location for full moon party! Great staff.

Review 38:Don't get me started. The room is less than basic (room with no air con). The bed was bad. The room has literally nothing but a double bed. No one bother to tidy up your room. The power sockets had scary electricity sound on it and those were like some Pre-soviet era power sockets. The fan was alright but it doesn't cool you down. The toilet was worse than terrible. It was horrific. The shower is half broken, so the turbo charged pressurised water "massage" your body with big pain. The noise was big as the minibar on the side of the pool opens till 12:30 at night. Good luck if you want to catch some sleep before that. Last but not least, the cockroaches are there in the room. They come from the gaps between the walls in the toilet and impossible to evict them. Extremely bad for the price we paid, around 5,000THB for two night stay for the full moon party.

Review 39:If you are happy walking for 20 mins or more to the town centre orpaying 100b per ride, then the location is okay.

Review 40:No safety deposit box, and you cannot lock the room from inside while sleeping. Reception closes completely at 10pm. There are many other nicer beaches in Koh Phanghan

Review 41:Very friendly staff, and comfy bungalows. You can definitely rent a bike with them to get around the island

Review 42:Weak wifi in room

Review 43:good restaurant, overall chillout of this resort, high culture of all guests that were there (remember it's Koh Phangan - party place), fantastic place to relax on the beach (lovely prepared beach for that) or on the swimming pool. Very well managed place. Strongly recommended!

Review 44:Beach not the best around.Too many gaps in doors and windows let mossies and other insects in.Air con not great.

Review 45:Pool was really nice.Location right on the beach.Near enough to the nightlife but far enough away to chill out if wanted.

Review 46:Not much on streets around but easy access to excursions and party's by taxi that are also arranged by hotel!

Review 47:Nice resort, value for money. great pool with gorgeous view, right on beach. Staff really make the stay enjoyable! Food was great, ate there all stay as not much on the streets around. Friendly with good English and helped booking excursions, Ferrys, taxis and even a hotel for our next stop in koh tao! 10min taxi ride to half moon party. Would definitely recommend!

Review 48:Pool bar should be open more. Excellent otherwise ;)

Review 49:The manager Nam was very helpful. Organised a trip through reception which was easy and great fun. Pool was great, patch of beach was clean; booked four days and stayed for 7. Only wish pool bar was open a bit more on the sunniest days. I'd recommend staying here definitely.

Review 50:If I had to say anything, the only thing would be that our described pool view room had more of a view of the garden surrounding the pool

Review 51:Nice friendly staff and owners. Quiet location. Not far from the action. Good food at fair prices. Was speaking to the owner and they have done well.from what they started with 3 years, or so ago. And they plan to make it even better.

Review 52:Very loud at night. Baby cried the entire night. Standard bungalow was very small. Not worth the money we paid at all.

Review 53:Lovely hotel. Gorgeous pool. Reception room was lovely. Films played at night time. Staff is really friendly and helpful.

Review 54:The pool was not the cleanest I have seen

Review 55:Nice hotel with helpful friendly staff in a quieter area but not too far from the busy area in a taxi/tuk tuk

Review 56:Only thing I have to complain is that the bed wasn't very comfy but other than that everything was amazing.

Review 57:The staff was amazing. They were always at the front desk and so friendly. The restaurant was also very good. Location was great and pool was awesome.

Review 58:WiFi was poor in the bungalows. Food was average at best and service was slow. However this did seem to be the norm in the area

Review 59:Location for full moon party was excellent as we were far enough away to relax during the day. Pool facilities were great

Review 60:Staff were so friendly and helpful (ordered us taxis for the full moon and everything), fabulous pool and beach views. Air con in the room was great also. The restaurant is lovely, so handy that they keep everything on tab and you can pay at the end together or seperately.

Review 61:The rooms are concert bungalows and due to this the doors do not seal all they way around cause nature to enter into the room. We had ants, spiders, and other various things in our room. Also the wifi is weak for those trying to do work, but we found if you go to the main lobby the service is better.

Review 62:The staff and the pool are amazing! The staff will help with anything! They arranged taxis and other travel, gave directions, provided recommendations, and truly went above and beyond. One of the staff members sat with us for breakfast And was asking us how everything was and how could they improve, I felt that they cared deeply about our experience. The pool is amazing! The pool looks over the gulf and is one of the best views I have ever seen!

Review 63:Wifi was non existent, even though they said we would have it. bed the most uncomfortable yet, the bungalow was way too basic, even for the price.

Review 64:The view and the pool.

Review 65:the beach sand is coarse. The tides are important, you have to walk a bit before being able to swim. The beds were very firm/hard.

Review 66:Friendly pick up from the owner upon arrival at the pier. Helpful staff, friendly resort dogs, clean bungalow, great pool with some shade throughout the day, good food at the restaurant. Sabaii Bay resort is a good base for a couple of days to explore the island with a rented motor bike or a car.

Review 67:After travelling and living in hostels for so long my friend and I wanted somewhere slightly nicer for a change. Also with it being the full moon we wanted to have somewhere nice to recover! Lovely pool area, great staff (received a free upgrade on arrival), great food, good vibe, cute hotel dogs too! Would definitely go back! Do not be deceived by the entrance, it could use some work!

Review 68:Granted, Koh Phagnan is a rural area. So this may happen at any resort on Koh Phagnan. But we saw two roaches in our room, and the sheets smelled like they didn't dry properly (that slight musty scent). Facilities could have used a spruce up. The room was too small for two people.

Review 69:The location was great for full moon, including the pool and beach area. The staff was excellent and friendly, the fellow vacationers were lovely.

Review 70:The food was a little overpriced and no breakfast was included.

Review 71:The pool was incredible. Staff would do anything they could to help you and the rooms were very well kept and cool.

Review 72:There was nothing going on at Koh Phangan since the government shut down all the parties. Of course this has nothing to do with the hotel but might be kept in mind.

Review 73:Nice bungalows, but make sure you stay in the newer ones.

Review 74:On my arrival I got to know that: 1) They already have charged a half of amount from my credit card without my consent - I was planning to pay cash. 2) On arrival they asked for deposit (for the This wasn't a part of their offer on booking.com, and taking a fact that they already had my credit card and charging it at their will, it looked like something totally unacceptable. 3) The "bungalow" is like a barn 2x2m with small windows and only one outlet plug near the door.

Review 75:Nothing.

Review 76:As a group of young female travellers, I, personally, wouldn't recommend this to a similar party due to the location (a long, dark walk off a main road) and also the security on site (no safe box, very basic room locks, people can see into your room, etc). Head into Haad Rin and get closer to the action, if you're keen to experience authentic Koh Phagnan as a young traveller.

Review 77:The resort is located on a beautiful beach and the receptionists couldn't be more polite/helpful.

Review 78:Too basic, our bungalow was nice enough but the shower was rubbish, no hot water which we can cope with but not enough water to wash under properly. No fridge. Unreliable wifi in the bungalow and surrounding. Location is to far from anything, even a 7/11. We stayed for x3 which was too long, nothing to do! I wouldn't recommend this for anyone on holiday as it's more for travellers/backpackers.

Review 79:Very friendly staff, owner was very nice. Pool is lovely over looking the beach. Very relaxed environment.

Review 80:Only thing i was annoyed at was booking the ferry to ko tao through here, i specifically asked for the lomprayah faster ferry as i had to meet someone at koh tao at a specific time, i insisted i didn't want the seatran boat, when i got to the pier i noticed id been given the seatran ticket, it was due to leave 30 mins later than the time I needed to go on the lomprayah and the it turned up 1 hour 40 late and was slower than the lomprayah, ended up getting to koh tao almost 3 hours late, not good but life goes on ha ha.

Review 81:Superior bungalow was ideal for the price. Shower was great. Pool was amazing, nice views of the sea and beach. Food was of a decent standard.

Review 82:Their resort seems like family resort, not have standard service and the room's stuffs were broken in many points and they charged high price of room fee, you can find better hotel with this price.

Review 83:You cannot bring outside food or drink in the lounge area.

Review 84:Great pool and lounge area! Friendly staff. Rent a scooter to get around Ban Tai from this resort.

Review 85:Booked double bed 3 month in advance...got two single beds. Bungalows very small. No safe in room and a popular area for thieves.

Review 86:DJ and food was good.

Review 87:The staff can sometimes be to easy going. In saying so I would rather that than be lazy.

Review 88:Great location not to mention the vibe of the place is amazing.

Review 89:At this time of year (high season in Thailand) its never easy to find a good value for money hotel that ticks all the boxes. Sabaii Bay comes very close to doing that. The place's laid-back vibe reminds me of Thailand 15 years ago, friendly and not too pushy or money-grabbing. The staff's English can be sketchy (apart from the excellent receptionist and a western manager), but they make the effort to get things right anyway. My room was large, bright, clean with a lovely balcony, all for a very good price. Also, the location is perfect for walking up to some of the best bars on the island (all within some 500 metres), although the service road leading to the hotel can be uneven and difficult, especially at night. The beach in front of the hotel is not fantastic, but again there is only a short walk for better beaches locally.

Review 90:We would love a big mirror in the room ;-) There could be some more sunbeds at the pool area.

Review 91:You feel like coming to some relatives on vacation. The hosts are so sweet and helpfull, and the receptionist is superb, even the waiters and gardeners and the driver are all super friendly - we had room nr1, which has a nice view to the pool area and even has view to the beach. The food was nice ( it is a cash free hotel, means you pay when you leave, wich is so nice) They had dvd/film evenings, where guests saw films together. The pool is great.

Review 92:Had no bad experiences.

Review 93:Iced the beach front location. The pool and bar and restaurant were laid out with grandure. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Review 94:Some of the staff don't speak English very well but it's not a big deal

Review 95:Food is amazing and cheap, very cool and relaxed atmosphere, lots of young people, clean and nice beach and pool. Very quiet and peaceful. The staff helped us with booking the ferry back to Samui and provided a free transfer to the pier.

Review 96:The staff was a bit more mixed. Some were really good and others struggle to add value. There was no wifi in the rooms. Only in the common areas. The beach was not the greatest but that is case for a lot of places in Thailand.

Review 97:The owners were good. They knew what they were doing and are very helpful. Easy to get food outside the resort. It had a nice pool and great view of the sea.

Review 98:Staff we're amazing, we stayed in a deluxe room and a standard room, both we're of excellent quality. No other hotel compares in terms of value for money. Lovely swimming pool and right on the beach.

Review 99:Poor WiFi Standard bungalow was not so clean and the bathrooAndere kant van het eiland gezien. Morgen gaan weer met de boot naar ko samuim was not clean at all....that's why we changed the standard room for a hotelroom....

Review 100:De hotelrooms were clean. The location was excellent. Nice pool. Frendly staff!

Review 101:upon arrival, we were given a room that had an overpowering smell of sewage. We were told to wait in the lobby while they made repairs, since no other rooms were available to switch to. After waiting about half an hour, I returned to the room with the owner, where the smell was better but still not suitable. Walking back to the lobby, I told my partner to book something else, since we did not want to stay in a sewage room, and they were full. By the time I got to the desk, I was told that magically they now had another room available (apparently "full" means something different in Thailand). This resulted in an argument with the owners for 30 minutes who refused to give us a refund since we booked online. We finally settled on paying a 15% cancellation fee, and I may or may not get my money back in two months when they send it in to the website to refund me. If you stay here, don't pay in advance, inspect the room first, and make sure it doesn't smell like poo!! I will never stay here.

Review 102:Electricity?

Review 103:Shallow waters (not for swimming) of the sea, even though the resort should not be blamed for that.

Review 104:We had the best time in this chilled area with private beach and caring stuff. Having infinity pool with comfy seats and view of the sea/ beach, delicious, reasonably priced thai food, new and clean rooms, friendly stuff, not far from other places in Koh Phangan (Haad Rin or Haad Salad Beach), easy to make new friends.

Review 105:WiFi was a touch weak at certain points of the day

Review 106:Everything else, friendly staff, great location. Super relaxing stay as the resort will take of everything remotely taxing if you ask.

Review 107:On arrival they were so helpful and accommodating. They sorted out anything and everything we needed. Such a beautiful place with amazing staff. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Excellent location near beautiful beaches and cool bars.

Review 108:Wifi is quite weak if you are far from the lobby.

Review 109:Staff ans owner are very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool area is incredible you can see the sunset/sunrise from there. And also quiet beach.Really love this resort. I'll definitely come back

Review 110:Nothing bad to say but the wifi wasn't the strongest in our room. This isn't a negative it was just better in the restaurant.

Review 111:Location, the swimming pool, the staff and the food. Our room was lovely and clean. The room was cleaned daily and our laundry was done for us too. Would go back and stay here the next time I am in Koh Phangan. It is only a taxi ride away from the full moon party beach.

Review 112:Avoid high season : Noise of the bars and bikes around, sometimes late in the night (specially for the wooden cabins). Bungalows very close to each others.

Review 113:Clean. Safe. Near Thong Sala (markets, Pier..etc). Delicious food. Lovely people, helpful, smiling, welcoming.

Review 114:All the construction works being carried out. When making a booking clients should be advised of any construction works in progress. Umbrellas on the beach would be a good addition and mattresses in lie on,

Review 115:Pool is fantastic, location Is good. Per & Mai fantastic hosts. New restaurant once completed should be another big plus for the resort.

Review 116:We were staying in a smaller hut which we did not know. We would recommend everyone to make sure they have a bigger hut not with a straw roof! Lots of insects and flies in the room because of gaps in the wall and the straw roof. the bathroom was not a bathroom it was just a toilet and a shower head in a tiny skinny box. was very disappointed with the room. We had booked and paid to stay for 3 nights and we left after 2 becasue the room was so unbearable!

Review 117:We thought the place looked fantastic from the outside. The pool right on the beach, it was amazing. Once you were out of the room it was nice. Price was good but would have paid more for a better/ cleaner room if i could have. Staff were friendly.

Review 118:Bad beach Low level bungalow. It is not three star at all No service in the night No cleaning if u do not ask

Review 119:Friendly staff Good restaurant Good reception service

Review 120:The fan rooms are quite basic, but fine. The aircon rooms looked nicer if your budget stretches to it.

Review 121:This is a lovely laid back resort with its best feature being the view from the pool onto the beach aswell as the pool itself. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is good and fairly priced. The resort is spacious and a place where you can truly relax. There are a few places to eat on the main road and if you rent a motor bike town is only 5 minutes away. Would definity recommend this place if you don't want to be on Hat Rin beach.

Review 122:The sea is not the best there, but they have a great pool with seaview

Review 123:During our journey that was the best resort we had. Masses of space, clean, the staff is awesome (they even drove us to the pier), we rent really good scooters without a problem (you can trust them), highly recommended!

Review 124:A rather large Cockroach found it's way into our room even with the door and windows all closed. Door could be better sealed to prevent this but please, please don't let this put you off.

Review 125:The pool and lounging area is great Brilliant views from room doors Nice rooms, simple, but nice. Staff were great, very friendly and instantly made you feel welcome. Nice atmosphere in the restaraunt area. TRY THE 'NO NAME' CHICKEN!

Review 126:they didn't pick us from the pier!, a.c. too strong (draft), no hooks, not enough space to store your luggage

Review 127:big infinity pool!, reception, rstaurant, living room, entertainment,..very comfortable!; the owners are very friendly!!, food!, very relaxed atmosphere

Review 128:Not very much to do in koh phangan not hotels fault though

Review 129:Pool and beach area were amazing

Review 130:The staf is nice, the Pool is great and the location is great as well!

Review 131:Per and his family are amazing such nice staff we loved to stay there

Review 132:Beach not appropriate for a swim

Review 133:Close to everywhere with motorcycle

Review 134:WARNING!!! BED BUGS in bungalow number 12! Around dozens of bites in one night... Horrible night

Review 135:-Swimming pool -Beach area

Review 136:If you want that your room is cleaned you have to ask for it.

Review 137:We got room update, but overall bungalow was quite small. Nice and friendly staff

Review 138:lovely staff will help you out with anything you need. great atmosphere. steps from the beach

Review 139:Staff very kind, spoke good English. Restaurant was very good suplying a great selection of both Thai and western food. Location is superb.
