Reviews for Alpine Motel
Review 1:The bed was extremely uncomfortable to the point where I would look for somewhere else next time
Review 2:The location was easy to find. The staff member was very friendly
Review 3:Our units kitchen facilities could have been improved. Only one knob for the 4 point hot plate, which as it turned out didn't matter because the other 3 plates didn't work when we eventually managed to turn them on removing the one knob to each point! There were only 3 dessert spoons for 4 of us (the room could sleep 6), 2 teaspoons, 2 coffee mugs. Only one smallish pot of poor quality (very thin bottom so even on a low heat food burns easily) and one fry pan of a size that catered for 4 people. One of the cupboard door knobs was missing. An oven (even a small one) would have been really convenient for some self catering.
Review 4:Great staff/ owners, very helpful and friendly. Great location. Very clean. On site restaurant served great food and good value for cost. Enjoyed the spa after a days skiing!
Review 5:Good shower but it was TINY!
Review 6:Great location, comfortable and clean at a great price for a last minute snow trip. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back.
Review 7:Awesome location, right next to supermarket, ski rental, cafes and restaurants. We stayed in 2 bedroom chalet. Very good value, with plenty of space, and slept up to 7 people.
Review 8:Not much, but kitchen appliances a bit knackered ( cooker knobs missing) Lighting a bit bleak. No soft light for stairs ( bit steep) so needed to leave loo light on to help see No heated towel rail Any facilities for drying ski gear?
Review 9:Friendly staff, easy to check in and out. Good TV and Freeview Park pretty much outside unit Nice to have electric blanket Very convenient location
Review 10:Some of the lights didn't work or didn't have bulbs. We were a party of 5 yet there weren't enough seats.spa luke warm and nt too pleasant
Review 11:Staff friendly . Able to access room early . Helpful when we asked for help although we weren't able to contact anyone for some time .
Review 12:Only there for a nite so nothing bad to point out.
Review 13:Close to the mountain, decent breakfast. No frills but does what it says on the tin. Helpful road advice and helped book transport to the top
Review 14:No owner on site. Owing to personal emergency but no replacement present. Low level of general cleanliness especially in the bathroom and bedside lights did not work.
Review 15:Accessible to town and restaurants
Review 16:Not a biggie but the double bed upstairs is needing a new mattress. It is a 'roll over darling' type which means you end up waking up often because your partner is digging you in the ribs. For a honeymoon couple who want to be extra close that's fine ; ) ; but not for those who want a good sleep.
Review 17:The convenience of being close to the ski fields and supermarket; enough space inside for a family; warm and cosy. Within walking distance from the city centre and restaurants. Hot water all day for a shower. Everything you need to relax. We had a great stay.
Review 18:Advertised as having Spa but not working -and suspect hadn't for some time (we still presumably paid for it!) TV channels limited. Very "creaky"accommodation so that was awakened every time someone moved. View was of a "dump" next door.
Review 19:It's cold and poorly heated. You need a heat pump or something better than the one wall heater. We had to request a second heater. Considering the cost I've had better at cheaper accommodation. It's also noisy from 6am because of the supermarket loading zone.
Review 20:The water pressure was great, the staff were nice and it's an excellent location
Review 21:Walking distance to all the restaurants and bars, nice comfortable room with new bathroom and great shower. The service at the front desk was great as we had never been to the area so she gave us really good tips.
Review 22:The foreign girl who welcomed us was arrogant and rude and had metal all over her face. She ordered me to park my car in a certain way and waved us away. Should have got off her seat and come and shown me where our chalet was and where to park etc. The chalet was cold and the heating hardly warmed it up at all. We were right next to the supermarket and the forklifts and trucks started up at 6am waking everyone up.
Review 23:All pretty good but the kitchen/cooking utensils were a bit limited...
Review 24:Location is great for walking to the main shops & restaurants in Ohakune. Spa pool still a plus after coming off the mountain.....
Review 25:Nothing worth commenting on.
Review 26:Having two rooms was great with small children. Right near town's facilities and friendly, helpful staff.
Review 27:Expensive for 2 people but would be great value for more

Review 41:Warm, cosy and good shower
Review 42:The location was great, we had easy access to town and other amenities. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable.
Review 43:Beds were a wee bit soft for me but I am quite fussy.
Review 44:Excellent last minute deal for a mid week ski. Tons of room for me and 3 teenagers.
Review 45:Good, central location. Warm, comfortable room. I slept very well.
Review 46:Location within Ohakune village
Review 47:coffee I ordered at reception burnt my mouth so badly that I needed to go to the pharmacy - only downside of the place though.
Review 48:The lack of cooking utensils.
Review 49:How warm the actual room was.
Review 50:Welcoming and friendly reception by Stripes the excellent motel cat.
Review 51:Central location, walking distance to restaurants, great friendly service
Review 52:The friendliness of the staff.
Review 53:Spa pool Sky tv facing the bed great electric blanket great stay for a couple warm and cosy
Review 54:That the breakfast facility was already closed before 9 am.
Review 55:Cockroaches and noise from supermarket loading in early hours
Review 56:It was close to shops and had a restaurant
Review 57:Foam mattress on the bed
Review 58:The Lemongrass Restaurant was great. The pineapple fried rice and the Thai fish cake we ate were authentically Thai.
Review 59:Some lights not working. Some lights did not have shades. Fixtures and furnishings all very old. Shower pressure good, but trim fell off door. Live coachroach in fridge. Upstairs bed rooms very hot, a fan would have helped. We would rate the place 2 stars.
Review 60:Close to everything in town.
Review 61:There was a bag of fries left in the freezer box. The rubbish bag wasn't emptied during our 2 night stay and the coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate not refilled as was stated in the folder(I didn't go and buy any because of this and then had to go out because it wasn't done). None of it big stuff but if you are paying........
Review 62:The owner was very helpful. Our chalet was as handy as anything to the hot tub. It was in easy walking to the town. They were very helpful about where to hire gear etc. The chalet was welcoming. Location was brilliant for us.
Review 63:Lack of adequate parking for our unit (Unit 8), which was tucked down the end of the complex.
Review 64:Good location, reasonable price and quiet. Warm unit with freshly supplied linen and very comfortable beds. Clean and tidy. Kids loved the spa pool in the motel complex.
Review 65:no highchair in restaurant. short hours for spa 3pm to 9 pm only and 20 minutes per booking, just a little to short. no children's channel at all via sky.
Review 66:location. easy walk to everything. quiet
Review 67:Beds were too old with no support and not very comfortable. Chalet wassmall for family of 5 and was missing several things (only 4 chairs, only 3 bowls etc.) and generally lacked attention to detail.
Review 68:Friendly staff, though not as attentive as I would like. Accommodationwas basic but functional and close to town.
Review 69:the little heater - because the ceilings are so high we had to crank that little heater day and night to keep inside warm - must be heavy on the power bill?
Review 70:location great
Review 71:TV remote had flat batteries toilet cistern buttons stuck Internet charges high Noises from next door Expensive
Review 72:Handy location
Review 73:price for what we got. Not value for money
