Reviews for Apartments @ Spinnaker Bay
Review 1:Spotless, view is amazing, 15 minute walk from central QT which is good as it gets you away from the crazy busy. Staff are fantastic. Absolutely beautiful.
Review 2:The apartment had tight staircases for all movement from the ground floor garage to living and bedroom areas. The furniture and fittings were clean but dated and in some cases in need of repair or replacement. The satellite TV did not function properly. Some room lights were too dim. The tone of some notices in the apartment for occupiers were unnecessarily abrupt and would not normally be expected.
Review 3:The views across Spinnaker Bay were fantastic. The 3 bedroom apartment had ample space. The pool was clean and enjoyable.
Review 4:The wifi is simply unusable. Couldnt check menus, book activities or even stream music. If all three of us were on it, it crashed. They made their name on the internet, they should provide satisfactory wifi. Furnishings vary by apartment. ours was just ok. Complex isnt as modern as pics suggest
Review 5:The view Very well equipped kitchen. Nice people Nice close location
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:The location was excellence. The apartment was spacious with stunning view. It's clean, comfortable and tranquility. Fully equipped with kitchen utensils. Helpful staff.
Review 8:The things we disliked with the apartment: the TV wasn't working during our whole stay, the interior is more old fashioned and the sofa was full of fluffs, not very inviting, we never used it hence the living room was useless to us due to no TV and no sitting area. There was also an unfriendly smell on the upper floor, especially when the place got heated up on a sunny day. Parking needs some maneuvering, the garage is pretty tight, don't come with a big SUV. All in all a nice place due to the view, but the rest is average. They call it luxury, this is an overstatement especially without a functioning TV, a sofa one doesn't want to sit on and the unfriendly smell.
Review 9:The view from this apartment is beautiful, overlooking the sea and the mountains. It is spacious on two floors with a small balcony a small table and two chairs. The Internet was relatively fast and reliable. There is also a washing machine and a dryer. The center can be reached within 20 minutes, walking along the lake shore (scenic) or along the Main Street, we never took that route due to heavy traffic. If you go by car there is plenty of parking lots for the whole day at the lake side left hand before you enter the city, the road is called Park Lane.
Review 10:There is no air conditioning in the unit and we had a few warm nights.
Review 11:We rented a 3 bedroom unit with a lake view. It was absolutely stunning. You could see the lake from all but 1 room. A short flight of stairs took us to the path beside the lake. The unit offered free unlimited wifi for all of our devices. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked several meals there. We were there Dec 24-28 and it was a quiet stay.

Review 13:Rick was the best owner I have ever come across. He dropped us off at the train station (2 trips!) early in the morning (for free!!). Didn't charge credit card surcharge. We stayed in 5 places over 9 days in New Zealand. Nobody offered as much value for money.
Review 14:I wanted a hotel with air conditioning. The website stated that airconditioning was available but it was only in the living/dining area. The rooms had no airconditioning and there was an evening when it was quiet warm. We had to leave the balcony door open and the bedroom doors open so air may circulate. I think it has to be clarified in the website that the bedrooms have no Aircon.
Review 15:It has a magnificent view and the location was close enough to town. The kitchen was very well equipped, even with dishwashing powder. Very clean and quiet.
Review 16:Do not ring the Reception after hours for non urgent service request. If you do, make sure you don't hang up too quickly, you will hear some comment from the other end which will make you feel very uncomfortable!
Review 17:Nice view of the lake and close to town.
Review 18:Not a big deal but cushion covers need replacing apartment 11
Review 19:Great stay, terrific location with wonderful views. A short scenic 20 min stroll into town. Every conceivable amenity provided. Washer/dryer really appreciated
Review 20:the entrance/parking could be a bit challenge for new drivers, the hotel is a little bit dated
Review 21:excellent location right next to the lake, the view from living room is fantastic! really enjoy the breakfast at the balcony and bath tub in the master bedroom!
Review 22:Only problem - but nothing to be done - was extremely steep driveway that was quite scary to drive up and town with tight corners. The price paid for lakeside proximity and view, though.
Review 23:Wonderful view, really spacious living area, and very well equipped kitchen. I loved the indoor pool with a view, and the water was lovely and warm. The separate garden was charming. A very friendly and efficient receptionist.
Review 24:Great location with a fantastic view, very friendly & helpful reception. Kitchen and bathroom kept well stocked with the essentials. Will definitely be back.
Review 25:Spectacular views of the lake from the lounge area and bedrooms made us feel so relaxed. The access to the walking track around the lake and underfloor heating were fantastic. The facilities were excellent including the two large ensuite bathrooms and internal laundry- having access to a washer/ dryer made it so convenient. The apartment had private access and a small courtyard with its own BBQ facilties.Cannot fault this place- it was worth every cent! Would definitely stay there again.
Review 26:The downstairs bedrooms being so close together. Would be much better if they were sound proof.
Review 27:View, beds and apartment. Location was awesome- easy walking to Queenstown
Review 28:The stairs were very steep for little kids, without kids not a drama. We didn't feel safe opening the windows downstairs as the locks on the main doors could easily be opened as the windows are next to the doors. The TV channels were disappointing, as was the picture quality of the TV. Reception does offer a wide range of DVDs though, in their defence. The driveway was crazy steep- we didn't have snow when we were there but might be an issue if there was snow. These are obviously only small things in what was otherwise a fantastic place.
Review 29:Great location, great staff, great feel within the apartment, great views. Staff go above and beyond to accommodate your stay, which is great. Heating was great all throughout.
Review 30:Nothing. All was great.
Review 31:The views from the apartment were spectacular. It was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed, included plenty of wood for the fire and wifi. We had a lovely stay and will definitely book again next time we're in Queenstown.
Review 32:The views were amazing, heated floors, fab showers, everything you would possibly need for your stay, beautiful log burner and plenty of wood, very comfortable couches (we want some for our house) Perfect location, extremely happy and definitely staying again :) thanks
Review 33:I don't have anything negative to say! The decor is a little dated but the facilities were wonderful.
Review 34:The view is to die for and the service was exceptional. We were there on very cold days (sub zero) and the warmth inside was incredible.
Review 35:This is a rather dated property and fells short of being an luxury apartment as it is advertised. house keeping is very basic. It's a good 15 to 20 mins to the centre and the driveways are steep and difficult to navigate.
Review 36:Beautiful views over the lake. Warm. Spacious with lots of storage.
Review 37:The beds were very hard both ours and our daughters. I spoke to reception who did add another mattress protector which helped but only slightly. They need to purchase some mattress toppers. We booked this property for location which was excellent he and because it was supposed to 4.5 star. Whilst the unit was reasonably comfortable and not really anything wrong with it ( other than the beds) by today's standard it is not 4.5 star that we are used to. It was a shame that we paid 4.5 star tariff. Felt it was overpriced due to the rating which didn't really deliver. None of the little luxuries you would expect from 4.5 star other than a good range of toiletries.
Review 38:The apartments are well located just a quick $10 taxi ride or do what we did and walk to town along the lakeside, it's beautiful. The units have a beautiful view.
Review 39:Nothing not to like slight hike from centre but worth it. great views great staff. direct access to a footpath along the lake takes you either into town or along the lake towards Francton
Review 40:The manager, Jude, was extremely helpful, positive & quick to respond to our questions. Spacious 2BR & 2 bathrooms. Comfortable & well appointed. Will stay there again when in Queenstown.
Review 41:All good!
Review 42:Incredible views from apartment deck (every bit as good as advertised!). Enjoyable walk to downtown Queenstown (approx 30minutes along the lake). Very nice staff.
Review 43:Just outside the town but easy walk in via oath. Very comfortable. Great view over the lake. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will go back
Review 44:The best accommodation in my 14-day travel of NZ. Clean and comfort room, full and convenient facilities, beautiful lake view, kind staff. Everything is perfect.
Review 45:Our request to have our bedding configuration as two x doubles and singles was not meant which caused an issue with our party. This request was an option on the internet booking.
Review 46:It was walking distance from the heart of Queenstown. Spectacular views.
Review 47:Criticism not of place but previous renters, who had not used coasters evidently and left marks on tables. Stairs down to bedrooms might be difficult for some.
Review 48:Fantastic views from apartment even on a rainy first evening. Accommodation was excellent throughout and better than previous rental in Queenstown. Convenient for walking into town. Swimming in pool with more of the views. Very friendly staff. 2 balconies at different levels plus lower level garden area and rear courtyard with barbecue and table etc. Everything provided. So beautiful did not want to leave.
Review 49:Little bit far away from the downtown. It takes about 30 mins on foot. But the walk way is good.
Review 50:Very nice lake view, house structure, and clean room. And also kindly reception, lots of board games for rent, etc. It's so good to family friendly accommodation.
Review 51:nothing at all.
Review 52:this is a 2 storey 2 bed 2 ensuite apartment/town house with large lounge dining room full kitchen (with all equipment you might need) 2 balconies plus terrace with BBQ. And the views were tremendous and a swimming pool. 20 mins walk into town and off the main road - so quiet. Perfect for our family get together.
Review 53:The view from our windows really gave us a true Queenstown experience. The space was perfect for our family of 6 and the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to cook meals. After 2 weeks of restaurants and car made sandwiches, sitting down as a family to a full homemade meal was a real treat. Watching the sunset on the mountains was a high point.
Review 54:Could have been a little closer to town, but still would definitely stay here again. Walk justified amount of food eaten in town!!
Review 55:Quality of accommodation, equipment etc was first class. Nothing was lacking (apartment 8). View was fantastic.
Review 56:The view from lounge and bedrooms is magnificent. Complete kitchen makes dining in as attractive as going out. Due to the spacy lounge and the comfort of the logburner we didn't mind staying in when the weather was bad. Secure off street parking included. Location only a short, beautiful 20 min walk to centre of town so no parking worries. Daily service of the apartment and the excellent service from management ensured a wonderful stay.
Review 57:Everything was excellent!
Review 58:The views from our living and sleeping areas were breathtaking. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked with supplies. We parked our rent car in the garage and used taxis to and from town. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff made us feel very welcome!
Review 59:Well appointed unit with lots of outdoor areas and balconies to enjoy the view. The pool is perfect. We were able to use the BBQ for dinner one night and eat on the patio. Free wifi. The trail to town is directly in front of the units and you can walk into town - a 20 minute walk so you aren't right in the middle of everything if that's what you are looking for.
Review 60:Nil.
Review 61:The proximity to the lake. Close to walking tracks. Proximity to the centre of town. Staff were welcoming and very informative and helpful. Apartment was well equipped and very clean. Garage for the car. Our apartment was very private with its own courtyard with BBQ.
Review 62:The floors make a lot of noise when you are downstairs and somebody is walking around in the living area at night.
Review 63:We liked the modern kitchen, beautiful view, spa bath and the fire place :)
Review 64:could not stay longer:(
Review 65:Location is ideal.quiet and private nice house apartment just by the lake side. Very lovely lakeside short walk to Qeens town garden. I m so lucky could book in this apartment, with bright and spacious living room. Bath tube with lake and mountain view. A cossy gardens access to lakeside. Everything just above our expectations. Will come again.
Review 66:I actually couldn't believe how beautiful and luxurious my time here was. Of course, Queenstown is spectacular, but the way these apartments are designed and located enables a full and breathtaking experience from beginning to end. The bed was amazing, the unit SO well appointed from spa, to kitchen, to laundry in the cupboard, balcony, view, furniture and most importantly, FABULOUS WI-FI. Hosts were wonderful and the swimming pool was a hidden extra - a joyful respite from conferencing. All in all I couldn't recommend this place more highly.
Review 67:If you don't want to do the 20 minute walk into town, you need a car or taxi. But every taxi we called always came on time.
Review 68:The open lounge/dining area and fire place. Big windows to look out over the mountains. Big bedroom and ensuite. Lots of heaters, and warming rails in the bathroom.
Review 69:hard to park. a little expensive for young couple. some decration are broken
Review 70:The host is great. Living room& bedroom with fantastic lake viee.Kitchen facilities are very good.
Review 71:Having to leave
Review 72:Enjoyed the whole stay could not have asked for better hosts and made to feel so welcome. Accmmodation was just great and a very easy walk into town.
Review 73:Couldn't say a negative thing.
Review 74:Very spacious. Had everything we needed. All comforts of home. Superb location. Easy walk to town CBD. Warm. Serviced daily.
Review 75:A little bit far from town center, about 30 minutes walk.
Review 76:Love the view and the decoration style in the apartment, the facilities are very convenient to use. Very nice lake view from the living room and balcony!
Review 77:20 minute walk in to town was difficult in the freezing cold wind
Review 78:Great views & a very comfortable and spacious apartment. Wooden fireplace was great!
Review 79:Dishes are very bad, we couldnt cut our food. Bathrooms are horrible, spabath is not really spabath in my opinion. 40 min walk to Gondola. Taxi to Gondola is 15 dollars.
Review 80:The view was amazing, camin fire in the living room, heaters and also heated beds. We had 2 bedroom app.
Review 81:On a steep hill so can't get camper van down hill Only hire a car if you stay here not a van Noisy washing machine
Review 82:Amazing views Very clean Excellent facilities Comfortable Friendly and helpful staff Walking distance to Queenstown
Review 83:We had a great stay at Spinnaker Bay during the spring. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the place is amazing. Wood fireplace, heated floors, amazing views, easy walk to town and a warm pool. Can't wait to get back during the ski season!
Review 84:Nothing I didn't like! Everything's perfect
Review 85:Love everything of this appartment! Excellent view, helpful staff, will miss the three nights we stayed!
Review 86:The bedrooms are downstairs, and the floor above creaks heavily when someone walks on it. Just need to all go to bed at the same time!
Review 87:The apartment was perfect for our trip of two couples. Each room had an ensuite also accessible from the hall and large beds. The living room was large with amazing views of the lake. The walk into town was an easy 20 minutes (a little less easy with ski gear, but still fine). We will stay again.
Review 88:The driveway is steep, which wasn't an issue for us, but may be problematic if you have leg problems (although this won't matter if you have a car).
Review 89:Beautiful apartment with amazing views. We really appreciated the underfloor heating in the bathroom and electric blankets! The apartment had everything we needed and Jude was fantastic to deal with. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk into town, but this wasn't a problem for us and we enjoyed walking along the lake to get there.
Review 90:It's a 25 min walk from town, although very scenic! ( May be a factor to consider) The bed was a little too firm.
Review 91:Daily servicing of apartment, very warm, excellent Wifi. Generous supply of laundry detergent, tea/coffee, etc
Review 92:Very spacious, incredible views Helpful staff and all the attention to detail like the heated floors in the bathroom and the wood fires Very suitable for families and easy 25 min picturesque walk to town
Review 93:Decor is a bit dated, single glazing meant lots of condensation.
Review 94:Fabulous view, handy to town. Quiet at night and great staff. Lovely log fire, great for a family ski trip.
Review 95:The water pipes clang in the walls if there is more than one faucet on at the same time. Not an issue really, just felt a little self conscious when we were up early that we might be waking up neighbours.
Review 96:Super clean, amazing view, heaps of space all made for an outstanding family holiday, really didn't want to leave.
Review 97:Fabulous location, modern, clean, comfortable accommodation. Didn't expect house to be cleaned daily, bed making, bins emptied, clean towels etc. Fire wood stacked, daily newspaper delivered. Views to die for..
Review 98:Driveway was a little steep. Car (comodore) bottomed out when entering garage.
Review 99:Pefect location and accommodation for a ski trip. Apartment was very well presented and homely. Would highly recommend this to everyone.
Review 100:A little cold in the public rooms (kitchen and living room) but the fireplace helped. A tad farther out of town but we did not mind that walk
Review 101:Heated floors! Pool was lovely even in the winter!
Review 102:No bath robes and slippers is the only thing.
Review 103:The view was beautiful, close to the city center and on the bus route. The pool was warm and loved having a sauna. The manager was lovely and very helpful. There so many extra touches and things they give you like oil, spices, butter, sauces, wood, loads of heaters, cleaning stuff etc..... Very kind, thoughtful and generous. We had a wonderful stay and will stay again soon.
Review 104:Sharp turn into steep driveway. had to be very careful getting in and out of garage. Bad smell everytime we headed outside to garage ?due to sewer
Review 105:Beautiful views of lake from sitting area. Well stocked pantry including things like gladwrap, alfoil etc. Handy if you are preparing meals. Plunger coffee and plunger! Clean, warm bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Nice walk into town along the lake. Quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of town which was very busy when we went. Closer to Frankton which we preferred to go to for meals. Wood for the fire!
Review 106:spacious rooms with great views of the lake. Short scenic walk to town. So much to do in Queenstown, we could have stayed much longer!
