Reviews for De Pelikaan Texel
Review 1:To little staff work at a time, as the receptionist is also the bartender, waiter and service the lounge. No coffee station in the room which is necessary because of the cold
Review 2:Friendly staff
Review 3:The bathroom is oldish. A broken lamp in the room was not replaced. Some of the staff were rather uncouth at checkout, pushing their way into our room unsolicited. And coffee and tea should be courtesy, IMHO.
Review 4:A well-equipped, quiet and reasonably modern hotel at a stone's throw from the dunes and close to Texel's visitor center-annex-seal-nursery Ecomare. Hotel rooms are big enough and well-heated. Breakfast is copious and self-served in a pleasant café-like hall.
Review 5:If didnt have bikes would be a bit isolated...quite a distance from town, but not bad for beach.
Review 6:Very large, spacious hotel. Very clean and tidy, a nice bar, good breakfast.
Review 7:Room was very warm, bathroom is very outdated and not as clean as I like it to be. Everything inside looks old, outdated and in need of refreshing.
Review 8:Cheap, good location, bed and breakfast as expected
Review 9:Too hot, window would not stay open, had to prop it, no fans. Had a fan the first night, but changed rooms because we wanted to stay longer, was very hot on 3rd floor, no fan in room. Breakfast should be available earlier than 8 am we had a 9 am appointment for a tour and felt rushed. Reception and downstairs entrances were closed til 8 am, so I had to bring suitcase up again to go to different exit. Inconvenient.
Review 10:Friendly staff, great breakfast, clean rooms.
Review 11:Having to ask for a second pillow. Very basic décor to room. Sauna too expensive. Reception un-manned in evening.
Review 12:warm and efficient welcome with super fast check-in. Convenient adjacent rooms which were also ground floor as we were travelling with our dog. Clean an efficient.
Review 13:We booked 2 nights at the Pelikaan Texel through your website Booking.com In addition we gave them a call 3 days before our arrival to make sure that we will be able to do the check in around 8pm Surprisingly when we arrived at the hotel they gave us other room with different characteristics (we booked other kind of room), they didn't give us any solution, only a poor discount of 8euros... That's not nice!!!
Review 14:The room was cool. The radiateur is not enough.

Review 27:Very good location - very clean hotel - value for money
Review 28:Mattresses on beds very soft, not good for a comfortable sleep.
Review 29:Evening meal at restraint was excellent, best meal while in Texel. Very clean rooms.

Review 31:Good breakfast, nice location
Review 32:No one told me hair dryer in dresser, why not in bathroom, I didn't,t find it. Front desk a bit rude
Review 33:Nice location Breakfast was good , but-when enough eggs out, long wait though Clean, nice room Nice to have bikes,$, hours of use weird, should be all day not till six pm
Review 34:The bed was actually 2 small beds, this was a bit annoying and the mattresses were not very comfortable.
Review 35:Friendly staff and nice facilities, a good hotel located in a very central location on the island.
Review 38:Our standard room was clean, comfortable and functional, but its general ambiance was a little sparse and did not match that of the public spaces.
Review 39:Quiet location away from the hustle & bustle of De Koog, but only a 25 minute walk or 10 minute cycle ride distant. Smart public areas and plenty of free car parking. Buffet breakfast was of a good standard.
Review 40:The hotel rooms outside of the main building are really small! Next tothat they don't have a/c, so it was really hot there last weekend! Itwas impossible to stay in the room after 10:00 in the morning, even withthe curtains closed.
Review 41:The location of De Pelikaan is really nice. It is a small walk to thebeach and very quiet and serene surroundings.
Review 42:1) I did not like that after registering we were informed that while they accepted visa, there would be a 3% service charge...it was not mentioned when we booked and luckily we foud an atm machine in town so there was no problem. We don't like surprises.2) The bike rental was by the day, not on a 24 hr basis. We started our day at about 2 PM so did not get good value...only small disappointment.
Review 43:I liked the complimentary pickup from the ferry. Quality of thebreakfast was quite good. Room, had the hotest water I have everexperienced...great.
Review 44:Very nice location near dunes with impressive woods; not far from De Koog with its many restaurants.
Review 45:The Hotel was beautiful and in a great location, also had amazing food and a really good breakfast included.
Review 46:The reception didn't open until 8am. That's all.
Review 47:The cleanliness. Professional staff. EExcellent breakfast. Great bathroom. Modern hotel.
Review 48:Bad isolation Noisy Restaurant closes too early
Review 49:The location
Review 50:The diner, although a bit limited in choice, was very good, and the breakfast equally good. Staff was very kind and helpful. Nice hotel!
Review 51:The distance towards public transport.
Review 52:No facilities such as sauna, frigobar, room service
