Reviews for Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Center
Review 1:The parking is a bit strange but at least it was free
Review 2:Not too far from the Fells point/canton area. Good customer service, clean rooms with a warm homely touch not bad.
Review 3:I mistakenly booked a smoking room before i upgraded to non smoking room. The smoking rooms are trash
Review 4:The bed was comfy, breakfast was cool, you get to make your waffle or pancake fresh.Love the view from my room 1124
Review 5:Staff was great and very helpful! The staff saved us $25 in the aquarium tickets! Staff was great at suggested areas we could visit. Shuttle service was prompt and courteous! Hotel was clean. Could use some fresh paint.
Review 6:We booked and paid for a deluxe king room with free breakfast for 3nights. We had no housekeeping services on one of the 3 nights paid for,nor was there breakfast served on one of the days. We were told that theChristmas holiday was to blame. However, when I asked for a rateadjustment, the request was simply ignored. There was a strong, objectionalbe antiseptic odor in the elevators. Dead slow WiFi.
Review 7:It was close to where we needed to be. That's all.
Review 8:We could not sleep the heater made so much noise to sleep, we were tried and could not change rooms we told the desk the next morning and they could care less.
Review 9:breakfast
Review 10:Most everyone on staff seemed confused, in general. I'm not sure why. A member of our group arrived later than us. He tried to find out how to get to the room which somehow lead to the concierge calling our room instead of directing him to the elevators. Luckily I had just moved my car to the lot and saw him as I walked in and showed him to the room. Just a little thing, I realize, thinking that the concierge should have better communication skills, but it's something that many hotels get right and adds to the experience.
Review 11:The lady who drove the shuttle was pretty cool
Review 12:The Hotel is Radio Antenna . On the Roof there must be at least 10 antennas. The radiation must be high and should be used as an hotel. Sorry stay away ASACan
Review 13:I noticed that some of the fixtures in the room and elsewhere seemed to be aging and neglected. The space between the beds and the desk chair was very narrow. I had to almost climb over the bed to get to the refrigerator.
Review 14:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I particularly liked the fact that the staff were so international.
Review 15:Our wake up call did not come.
Review 16:Helpful and friendly staff. Shuttle service. Proximity to Johns Hopkins. We were told that next time we could avail ourselves of the Johns Hopkins discount
Review 17:High taxes added to the bill. We were unable to get a government discount that we were entitled to because we booked online.
Review 18:Nice view. Good facilities.
Review 19:the pool was closed
Review 20:new comfortable bedding super clean rooms and great location lots of restaurants and gourmet grocery shops just a 1/4 mile on boston
Review 21:nothing really bad, it is what it is, a conference Best Western off a highway next to a McDonalds and a cemetery. It's a good value for the money, a place to lay your head for a night, and close to the city center
Review 22:Comfortable beds.
Review 23:Senior's rate was not apply. They should be no reason for that, because it is in your policy. Booking. com is not the owner of the property.
Review 24:Clean environment, nice staffs, shuttle rides as schedule. The break fast ladies are very sweet and helpful.
Review 25:We found the hotel in bad need of remodeling. Our bathroom wall paper was stained. The sink water handle felt like it was loose and coming apart. The chair in the bedroom was very well worn and we had a hard time parking all three nights because of the comedy club.
Review 26:We enjoyed the location. The staff were very nice and helpful. The place was as clean as it could be considering it badly needs to be remodeled
Review 27:Would like more selections for breakfast, example boiled eggs, cheese for eggs and grits
Review 28:Staff really went all out to make our great! We appreciate their concern about us traveling around the city and provided shuttle service to and from the festival.
Review 29:I was given a room I a floor that smells like an ashtray, the room furniture was uncomfortable The shuttle service didn't accumodate the event (expo east), the breakfast was poor
Review 30:The room smelled of smoke and looked unkempt. The pool was not open on time and management had to be called twice for the pool to be cleaned. There were no pool towels. I travel with my grandkids and a pool is number one on their list.
Review 31:vending machines were empty, no local area to pick up snacks and food, pool was green and gross with hair or mold, staff wasn't too happy/friendly, paint/carpets/walls/decor were extremely outdated, cable was limited and picture was unclear, view was horrible, 1 working elevator out of 4 working at any one time, hot tub was gross.
Review 32:It had WiFi
Review 33:Pretty sure we got bed bugs because we are all bitten and still itchy. The furniture looks so old and out of style, a little upgrade would help.
Review 34:Staff was kind
Review 35:There were a couple disgusting stains on the walls. Looked like black mold. One of the beds and pillow had stains. Very gross. I felt as if we needed to shower when we left. Lobby was clean.
Review 36:i was called from front desk at 1 45 am to tell me there was a problem with credit card. It was just a mistake and ruined my need rest for the night..It should of waited till at least 8am. Very Poor Customer relations there
Review 37:Two desk clerks skipped info on shuttle and signing up ahead for it which runs every hour. A 3rd receptionist Tashia was awesome with helpfulness and should be at a four star hotel. Lobby was newly updated but rooms not yet. Smoking room only available smelt horrible. Requested linens from housekeeping and deodorizer 2x never received. She may not have understood English but said ok with each request. Phone did not work and breakfast was horrible.
Review 38:I think breakfast could have had a better selection to choose from. And update the decor of rooms. My
Review 39:The location was great, it was central location near downtown and the harbor I
Review 40:On Sunday the AC wasn't working. We woke up sweating and the floor was soaking wet. Just horrible. My suitcase was wet!!!
Review 41:I liked the free shuttle to the Inner Harbor.
Review 42:The hotel is in a very seedy neighborhood. The sheets were torn and I there were stains on the floor. I could not get a beverage in the entire building because they were out. Solicitors and Pan Handlers followed me to and from the building.
Review 43:Only thing I felt could have been better was breakfast I don't eat pork so I would have loved to see more turkey or chicken meat but overall the selection was good my boys loved the fact they could make there own waffle and pancakes. The pool was nice to but it had a lot of chlorine in pool they need to cut back on that it was burning your eyes and you did not have to get in pool for that that's how strong it was. But that is the only things I had problems with overall very nice hotel.
Review 44:The bed was comfortable and the rooms were very clean the staff was great love the bartender at the restaurant they were great friendly location was nice even though they was remodeling a bit it did not take away from the hotel we will be coming back for sure with other family members. Great stay☺
Review 45:Skittles all over my bed when I checked in. Door would stick. Mysterious $20 charge added.
Review 46:The location was good. The staff were friendly. The shuttle was always on time.
Review 47:no internet connection for 2 days was hard to conduct business without it. didn't seem to care if guest were able to take care of businees issues and or concerns.
Review 48:The 8th floor reminded me of the Shining. They were "remodeling", it smelled awful the ice machine was broke, the view was of the backyards of residents.
Review 49:The Lobby, room service.
Review 50:One morning when we went the fitness center,it was not opened, had to goto the front desk to get it opened. The next morning again it was notopened, went to front desk , waited at fitness center 20 minutes no oneshowed up to open it. Left bad taste in my mouth about you hotel.
Review 51:The morning breakfast.
Review 52:Even after confirming a late checkout with the front desk; housekeeping still came st noon and tried to get in. When asked if they were informed about the late checkout; they said no.
Review 53:Convenient to my work location.
Review 54:Although the room was overall clean, whatever product was used on the tiled bathroom floor left a sticky residue. That didn't feel great on bare feet. I was looking forward to using the pool. I arrived to find that the water looked stagnant. Although there was no odd smell, there appeared to be little circulation and there was clearly a visible film that had developed on the top.
Review 55:The rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast (with hot food) was very nice. The WiFi connection was very fast, and it was great to find a hotel in Baltimore with free guest parking.
Review 56:The beds were horrible awful. Matress need to be changed. Best Western usally have the best beds
Review 57:It's a nice place. Just is not located in the inner harbor. Your representative Moudy was excellent. Every time you walk by the front desk he had a smile and always ask how your doing. The rest of the staff had a blank look on there face ..
Review 58:Water damage on every floor I had an elderly person on oxygen with me had to smell the wet carpet. I ask for ground floor they put us on the 8 floor at the end of the hall which we had to walk over electrical cords. The room smell like mew dew.The front desk was rude. Had no parking with no regard for parking for hotel guest in front parking lot. They had additional parking on another lot across street. Hotel had other activities in the hotel which allow people who were not guest to park in front parking lot.I will never stay at another Best Western Hotel in my life and will tell everyone about this Disgusting Experience.
Review 59:Breakfast
Review 60:I didn't like how I had the reservations were separately rung up. I reserved two rooms weeks ahead. The rooms should've been side by side. Not just randomly selected to keep me from complaining. As well as other guests who were near the children's room.
Review 61:I liked the experience for the kids overall.
Review 62:The entire room was old and needs to be rennovated. Bathroom door did not close b/c it wasn't made properly. Everything looked old and dingy.
Review 63:breakfast was good. Lobby was nice.
Review 64:I loved the customer service and the front desk staff was amazing. When we needed anything we didn't have to wait more than 10 mins top. We had come down for a Cheer competition because of the riots it was cancelled. Other families were also staying at the hotel with us and it was a great bonding experience considering the circumstances. Your hotel staff ensured our safety and I felt that security was your top priority this past weekend when the riots broke out.
Review 65:The staff at the front desk went above and beyond with being very helpful. The shuttle service is a plus in and out of inner harbor within 10-15 min depending on traffic. Pool was very clean, rooms were ok. Only thing I didn't like was housekeeping was not up to par and the bathroom needed a circulating fan.
Review 66:stuff was a but old. Needs new furniture stc. also needs a bit better breakfast with different types of food.
Review 67:Personel was really good and helpful. everything was really clean overall.
Review 68:Same breakfast served all 3 days; lots of empty trays/dispensers Not many food alternatives (McDonalds and the $16 hotel buffet). Parking limited Outside the Toll booths, so $8 pre trip into Inner Harbor; still 2 nights here for price of one night in Inner Harbor Downtown shuttle only once an hour, so we drove and parked instead
Review 69:Professional staff; very clean; reliable Wifi; Easy 3 mile drive to Baseball/football stadium/Inner Harbor
Review 70:fairly basic, well used premises, quite a ways away from downtown; no restaurants close by
Review 71:available shuttle to downtown inner harbor area; hotel located next to major highways
Review 72:staff is honest & helpful. thank you especially to Miss Kelly for mailing to me the item i left in the room. i appreciate it a lot. more power to your hotel & God bless.
Review 73:It would take forever to get a front desk staff members to help you when they did they were interrupted multiple times I tried a few time to ask questions and gave up because they didn't have the time for me And they lost my pilliow
Review 74:I didn't ask for a smoking room/floor yet that's all they had unless I wanted to pay MORE for a non-smoking room, which made no sense. And my neighbors on the 8th floor smoked pot the entire time.
Review 75:We opened up the pull out couch so our children could sleep on it and there was a rotting banana left in the couch. When we called downstairs they offered to move us to another room on the floor but I assume the rest of the hotel was equally filled with disgusting surprises. We just did not use the couch. Also, we were on the 12th floor which for some reason had a crummier selection of television channels than the other floors. The pool doesn't open until ten so no early morning swim for our kids - one main reason we chose it - a hotel with a pool - and the breakfast was gross. I mean inedible. Lastly, the bathroom was not clean - wall paper poorly glued down and rising at the edges and dirt in the corners. Staff was nice but really.... Does the banana not say it all?
Review 76:The service in the restaurant was very slow even though i was the only patron and i only ordered a sandwich. I was disappointed in the quality of the food as well.
Review 77:Staff was not friendly and not very accommodating Tried to insist we requested a smoking room. Hesitated to give us a non smoking room and made us wait while they checked another party in. The maid staff did not speak English so getting a clean towel was like pulling teeth
Review 78:Pillows too soft. There was a used bar of soap left between shower curtain & liner so i know maid didnt clean it well. Microwave sounded like it was going to explode.
Review 79:Staff was great. Half hour after checking in room next door was so loud with many kids yelling & slammimg doors. They moved us to end of hall with no problem.
Review 80:I came to the hotel for a birthday party and was very dissatisfied! The beds had no covers on them, the toilet was stopped up, the tub leaked all night, and after calling the front desk about my hot water they promised to send someone up and never did.
Review 81:The breakfast was good except for the eggs. They were runny and not really the consistency you'd want if you had been drinking at the Baltimore Comedy Factory the night before....
Review 82:We did not have wash cloths in the bathroom, I called the front desk to request them & they were at the door before I could even put on my robe! Such quick service! Linens were clean, staff was nice, top floor view was perfect.
Review 83:Not the best location for tourists, it's some distance from downtown stuff, but the free parking and free shuttle to downtown helps make up for that.
Review 84:Stayed here because it was closer to the business location I was visiting, and cheaper than the others in the city. The front desk staff was the Best! Nice warm pool. Nice views from the top floor and super good breakfast!
Review 85:Room Service never responded too calls for service. I even left a voice message about an hour before i was told service would end. Open location of business center.
Review 86:Staff
Review 87:Food at breakfast buffet wasn't as good as previous years visits. Most hot entrees were unhealthy and some were cold/greasy.
Review 88:Room comfort, microwave, mini refrigerator, free shuttle and attentive staff.
Review 89:You have a subcontractor for the transporting of guests to the pier (100+) and they only had 2 vans. We realized they had to move two departion times (due to the ship being delayed) into one but I would have thought you might have let that company know that you had all these disgruntled people and their baggage in your lobby with no seats and demand they send more shuttles to transport your guests. This certainly left a bad taste in our mouth about our stay. We really will think about our next stay twice before we book. I also think that there was a bait and switch with the booking company saying their was free shuttle service to the pier, when in fact you had to buy a higher price (package cruise deal) you can be sure we will not use them again.
Review 90:Bath tub was not that clean. Noisy air conditioner. Breakfast could be improved. There were two beds in the room but little space for luggage.
Review 91:Great wifi. Free parking and free shuttle to the harbor. There is restaurant at the hotel. Confortable bed.
Review 92:The restaurant. After an long travel day, we went to get a bite to eat. The wait staff seemed very inexperienced. We were a party of 9 on 2 checks. Kept coming back to ask what I ordered. Took 15 min to get our drinks. The waitress didn't know what kind of beer they had. Ended up going to the bar ourselves. When our food came out there were 3 waitresses with plates shouting out "who had the ...". They were so loud I started laughing! Awkward. Who trained these girls? Staff definitely needs some training. I fault the management. The free breakfast was good, and the morning waitresses was very nice.
Review 93:The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. My daughter left a bag in the room. Housekeeping called me and made arrangements for return. The rooms were comfortable, although the number of towels and pillows in the rooms (we booked 2 adjoining rooms) were inconsistent. Housekeeping quickly remedied this upon request. We had an issue with the heater in one of the rooms. The maintenance man was very polite and offered us a different room when he could not fix the problem.
Review 94:Front desk lady at check was particularly abrupt and not very friendly, as if she didn't want to be there on that particular time/day. Other staff all pleasant. Internet slow. Vending machine displayed 8 or 10 beverages, but only 1 - coke light - available - the remainder sold out.
Review 95:Restaurant on premises - food was very good. Cleanliness of room. Comfort of bed and pillows. Generally staff quite friendly.
Review 96:I'm allergic to down feather pillows, but that was my fault for not requesting a different one!
Review 97:The staff was friendly and kind even though we were a young couple in our early twenties, the free breakfast was great, there was a nice shuttle to our event down in the harbor. I would highly recommend this Best Western to anyone traveling Downtown.
Review 98:Asked the hotel front desk if there was a shuttle that went to the airport. They said they would find out and call us. The morning of our flight they said the shuttle would drive us at 7. We went down to the front desk and the hotel front desk employee Moudy I think his name was, escorted us to his car? My boyfriend and I were confused but they seemed nice... We thought he was doing the hotel a favour... Perhaps lived on that side of town? Instead after arriving at the airport wanted $50 cash. This was more than what a taxi cost us to get to the hotel! We felt abused by the hotel as we called the FRONT DESK asking about the hotel shuttle. If they would have said that this would improvise as a taxi I would have called a legitimate taxi !! Unbelievable that employees would take advantage of hotel guests. I will never stay here again! Hopefully future guests will see this and not trust the hotel "shuttle" service.
Review 99:The bed and pillows were too soft for me. That's just a personal preference. I'm sure other people would love it.
Review 100:The staff, internet connection, cleanliness of room were all reasons that I would go back.
Review 101:Staff didn't go out of their way to help you. Key cards didn't work well, had to get replaced on first day there.
Review 102:Cost was reasonable. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Review 103:Unless you utilized the shuttle to go into town, there is not much to do nearby.
Review 104:The bed was very comfortable. Our room and bathroom were spacious. The free shuttle was a great asset as was the full breakfast!
Review 105:the toilet was a little bit noisy other than that everything else was fine.
Review 106:This staff was so friendly. my flight came in very very early and they were able to get me checked right in. Miss Linda is an awesome lady. just because of Miss Linda I would stay there a hundred times over. the housekeeping staff on the 7th floor are amazing and so friendly. My comfort was put first.
Review 107:Hotel in need of some "refreshment" to room interiors...torn furniture, wallpaper stained and coming loose, etc.
Review 108:Location and shuttle were wonderful. Breakfast was great with a wide selection of choices.
Review 109:Shower needs to have railings for getting in and out. The one available was really only for taking a bath.
Review 110:After a mixup about getting a room not expected, front desk switched me to the room I thought I had signed up for. Room was spacious and had the features we needed. Nice. Breakfasts were good.
Review 111:Stayed on eleventh floor. Ceiling bathroom vent fan had no cover & was inoperative. Fan & motor laying sideways . Could be possible electrical fire hazard . Bathtub needs replaced . Shows a lot of wear & staining. Updated fixtures needed. Additional hidden taxes are outrageous. A little more detailed attention should be paid to cleaning of bathroom.
Review 112:Easy access. Very close to family for visit. Stylish lobby. Four elevators very efficient. Great hostess and hospitality in dining room especially for breakfast. Stayed 3 nights. Cleaning staff changed towels daily. Room (1118) seemed to be clean.
Review 113:TV reception was not crisp. Although TV was large, both color and resoulution was poor.
Review 114:reception was very well done. Staff mentioned shuttle bus and parking. Room was clean.
Review 115:The heater/ac unit was very noisy.
Review 116:We came up to Baltimore for a family weekend with my son and his family with 3 young kids. I was looking for an affordable motel with an indoor pool. This motel fit my needs perfectly. The price was very good compared to motels in the city, the staff was very friendly and helpful and they had a shuttle to the inner harbor so I didn't have to drive. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and helpful too. Our room was very clean and comfortable and I would stay here again.
Review 117:It was not very clean. We had a dirty towel, looked liked there was dried blood on in in the clean towels once. DISGUSTING! The shuttle is nearly worthless.
Review 118:I had open heart surgery at Johns Hopkins. My husband and family stayed here while I was in the hospital. I'm from out of state and had to stay there after discharged. It was near the hospital and the bed was comfortable.
Review 119:Love that they had a free shuttle service to the harbor, the driver was really nice and sugguested some good resturants. Breakfast was really good, room was clean.
Review 120:Bathroom was filthy, floors would look great if a touch of effort was put into it. Comforter was FILTHY!! I didn't sleep well because the room was chilly and I did not care to touch the comforter. A white bed program is designed to be laundered with each new stay...look into it! Although costly, elevators could use an upgrade! This hotel has potential, maybe if the supervisors inspected the rooms after the cleanings you would have better ratings, its that simple.
Review 121:Décor, paint and newer carpet in the room. Front desk staff was very sweet and even let us borrow chargers for our phones!!
Review 122:The bar wasn't open during the day. Our group of 4 would've liked to have a drink prior to heading to dinner.
Review 123:Spacious rooms and gorgeous view of the city. Comfortable yet classy atmosphere! Loved the chocolate covered strawberries!
Review 124:I did have a problem with a leaky faucet in the tub/shower, but it did not impact the functionality.
Review 125:The staff is extremely courteous and responsive, it seems obvious that they want the hotel to succeed and are working very hard to make it so. I stayed at this hotel several years ago, quite often, and it has improved in every aspect since then, including the overall cleanliness of the rooms.
Review 126:Off the (local) beaten path...no good convenience stores or beer/wine stores within walking distance. Getting bottled water (tap was not good enough for us this trip) was expensive through the hotel ($1 for 16 oz).
Review 127:Easy access to Inner Harbor and local attractions. Love the free shuttle option to visit the area. McDonald's across the parking lot for quick meal-grabbing. Breakfast in hotel restaurant was good and provided decent variety. Beds were comfy. Hotel store had microwave popcorn for $1 per bag.
Review 128:Was there for an anniversary weekend and was nice to be able to go out and have a shuttle to drop us off and pick us up. Nice hotel with friendly staff.
