Review 1：We chose a budget room for a quick nights sleep on route to final destination. It was very dated but did do the trick. The bed was rather uncomfortable and one bedside light did not work. The bathroom was very old with average water pressure. It had a huge (and dirty) skylight which spilled significant amounts of light into the bedroom which was frustrating for putting down an infant. Honestly though - not that bad since we knew we'd booked the base model room.

Review 2：Terrific staff and good public spaces including bar and restaurant, pool, green space etc. Convenient location. Handy parking. Also had a liquor store next door which was a good bonus.

Review 3：Wanting to book a meal at 5.00pm for 12 people. Clearwater did not open until 6 pm receptionist did not give me any other options. I then found there was the Turf bar was ok but we were formally dressed as we were going to an evening wedding. Later that night after attending the wedding we went to the house bar and they said they could have catered for us a bit disappointing.

Review 6：Could do with refurbishment - room decor was very 70s. The window above the garden door was cracked and the inside shower joins had turned brown - looked particularly distasteful against the white panels! Gardens could also do with a little TLC. Full buffet breakfast at $21.00 pp ($18.50 for continental) was a little steep given the very basic selection and a la carte not being available so no choice.

Review 15：Every thing was perfect. From when we checked in, to seeing our room, could not find anything wrong. It was really lovely and we have already booked our next stay. The staff were oh so helpful and our booking included buffet breakfast and it was really lovely, You will not be disappointed staying here.

Review 16：There were no staff around to greet me at breakfast, the TV did not go because they are not on standby and the on switch is not obvious, the shower edges were grubby.

Review 22：The room was very dated and had one of those old fashioned dark colour heavy bed spreads which I hate as I bet they don't get washed very often. The shower had horrible stained silicon filling between the panels. Its way overdue for a spruce up.

Review 23：Efficient and friendly staff. Smart looking dining room, bar and lounge and we were asked if we wanted a coffee when sitting waiting for friends, a nice touch.

Review 28：Room was lovely and warm, thankyou. But, the heater fan went on and off all night as the thermostat went on and off to maintain the temperature so noise from the fan heater disturbed our sleep.

Review 29：State of the wallboard to bath connection. Mould on the sealant at the shower end very off putting. Bed was not very firm. I would go back again and stay if I get the chance. Its the second time I have stayed at this establishment. The last time was 25 years ago.

Review 31：A bit away on it's own and away from other restaurants etc. Although the room had all the right conveniences, the heater was noisy and would worry light sleepers. It was needed during the cold period I was visiting so I had to tolerate it.

Review 32：This is a sprawling, ground level, hotel/motel style establishment, that caters for both the ones who want the finer things when traveling, such as an up-market restaurant and guest bar, as well as catering for those who choose public bar drinking in a sports bar along with a reasonable bar food menu.

Review 33：When going to pay for accommodation and food I was surprised and not happy that my credit card had already been charged for the accommodation. I understood that a credit card was required to make the booking and would not be charged unless there was a late cancellation.

Review 40：Our conference finish at 11pm and the bar is close, the staffs were still around, we asked to see if we buy bottle wine, we were told no. We asked if we can have a room service, we were told no, we have to go out to town in a courtesy taxi and spend in town where we can prefer staying in the hotel

Our breakfast was poorly cooked & cold, they also made a mistake with our order so instead of just replacing our wrongfully ordered item they wanted to switch them (did they make the same mistake with someone else & delivered food to us that was from another guests plate?) Terribly disappointed in the description of our room, there was no garden view (which was the least of our concerns) it was filthy & had incredibly poor service. Will never go back & would never recommend. Ridiculously overpriced. No sky.

Review 46：The Hotel Asburton is situated a block off the main road, so quiet. Very spacious grounds, single level, all the rooms face an inward courtyard with a garden and swimming pool. Large bed, good bathroom, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, tv supplied. Very good value for money. :)

Review 47：i didn't think the food was all that gr8 at the restaurant. I was not offered any childrens' menu or anything! It was also very hot in the rooms & I couldnt leave the door open cos the pond was not fenced off. Dangerous for kids!!!

Review 53：The room was very hot and at night you couldn't open a window. The only opening was a door which was great during the day, but left the room stuffy at night. A ceiling fan or air conditioning would not have gone amiss. The silicone around the shower base needed cleaning or replacing, as it was discoloured by soup and body oil.
