Reviews for Hotel Ambasada Bolesławiec

Review 1:A fun little hotel with great staff, great food and a great location. FYI, they have a lively dance club atmosphere downstairs on weekend nights--be prepared!

Review 2:Most of the staff spoke English. The décor was fascinating and created an unusual, but very welcoming and cozy environment. We had two rooms; they were very clean and the our bathroom was modern and excellent. Parking is available within the wall behind the hotel, although it did not appear to be secured or guarded overnight. The restaurant in the basement served excellent food.

Review 3:There was a party on in the restaurant and it was so noisy that we were not able to sleep until 04h00 in the morning.

Review 4:The staff were very friendly. The hotel has an "old look" and feeling which is interesting. The food was also good.

Review 5:Honestly, we cannot think of anything. We only wish we could spend more time and take part in some of the cultural happenings that take place at the hotel.

Review 6:This was one of the nicest places we stayed in. We really enjoyed it. The service was superior (they all speak good English). The food (we at breakfast, which was included, and dinner, which we paid for separately) was exceptional. Accommodations were first class. And all of this for a very reasonable price. In addition, when checking out, we have forgotten items in our room and called the hotel the next day. They were very helpful and offered to mail the stuff to us. We HIGHLY recommend this place.

Review 7:nothing.

Review 8:the room was spacious and clean. we found it to be quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is very good and gets busy.best hotel in the area in my opinion.

Review 9:The bathroom seemed as if came from a spaceship.

Review 10:Staff was very nice and the hotel had a 'unique' ambiance you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere in the area.

Review 11:We stayed on a Friday night and had absolutely no idea that the restaurant would turn into a dance floor and that the music would reverberate throughout the entire hotel, keeping us up until 2am.

Review 12:Staff was friendly, food was good, room was clean and comfortable, price was great.

Review 13:Reception was actually the bar in the basement which was a surprise. Parked on street as not sure where else there was parking. Cooked breakfast was empty and not replenished at 09.00. Check out was slow and I had to ask to get anyone to serve me at dinner. No bath only a shower in the room.

Review 14:Large comfortable room, good wifi with easy access to the code written on the back of the room door. Comfortable bed, sophisticated shower which took a little to understand.

Review 15:The room was huge and realy nice. The resturant downstairs had great food and was very convienent. We were able to order downstairs and have it delivered to the room which is very nice when you have kids that don't like to sit still in a resturant. It is near all the pottery stores. Andy's was our favorite. We would stay again for sure.

Review 16:Didn't know that lights work when your room card key is slid into the port by the room door. Great idea, though. The entrance to the hotel goes through the restaurant and during busy times, there is a bit of a wait to get the room key. Good to know if you will be staying.

Review 17:The hotel is rich in style, uniqueness, comfort and is a marvel of stone and brickwork throughout. The art surrounding the hotel is beautiful. The staff are friendly and speak English. Food is WONDERFUL.

Review 18:Towels were very stiff and not very comfortable.

Review 19:The location and the bathrooms were amazing. The restaurant was great and very convenient. Would stay here again.

Review 20:Every Saturday there is a party held at hotel restaurant so it's quite loud at night.

Review 21:Wonderful place with stylish, big rooms and comfortable beds. Good selection for breakfast. Private parking and good restaurant.

Review 22:The hospitality was phenomenal. The room, breakfast buffet, and secure parking were a plus. We enjoyed the hotel and friendly staff, and will stay there again.

Review 23:Saturday night there is a disco in the basement so don't expect to sleep before 3 am. Owners cat used parents-in-laws room as toilet!

Review 24:Quirky luxury. Very well appointed rooms. Near to town square.

Review 25:The day we stayed there was very hot and there was no air conditioning. The room smelled somehow strange and the fan put in the room was quite noisy. There was no enough parking space for guests.

Review 26:There was a bar in the hotel so that we could enjoy cold beer when we came back.

Review 27:We were on the 5th floor and the restaurant was on the 6th floor and it was

Review 28:The hotel staff was wonderful. We visited and it was hot, almost 100 and high humidity, so the A/C was wonderful. The restaurant in the hotel was fabulous and the location to the city center was about a 10 min walk.

Review 29:If you have food allergies then do not eat at the restaurant. The staff is clueless to the concept and nearly gave my wife an anaphylactic shock. The room was not cleaned properly - we also found a condom wrapper on the floor. It took us two attempts with the staff to get a second duvet. The only truly smiling and kind staff member was the breakfast lady.

Review 30:Interestingly decorated establishment. Secure parking in private yard.

Review 31:It was really hot in our room, because of hot weather. Maybe providing a fan would be a good idea for the summer months.

Review 32:Room was comfortable, good wifi and good breakfast. Private parking available.

Review 33:A stunning refurbishment has been done on this very old building. Bathrooms and bedrooms simply gorgeous, one of the nicest hotels we stayed in this trip such Incredibly value for money. Had dinner here which was also very nice. Secure parking available. We were on an Eastern Europe biking trip with another couple and met the owner who was also once a keen biker. He told us all the history of the town and how he and his father had together created this gem, a perfect host. Would highly recommend.

Review 34:The room is advertised as having a refrigerator, but it doesn't. There was a door in our room that I thought led to a balcony, but actually it was the old front door of the building, so we had an exterior door right in our room. Some of the paintings are rather risque.

Review 35:Located in a quirky, historic building. Lovely bathroom. Close to pottery shops. Does have an elevator, (but you need to go down steps to enter hotel).

Review 36:This was our third time at this hotel and it is always a pleasure to stay here. The staff are all so friendly and willing to do whatever they can to please you. We had a mix up with rooms most likely from miscommunication with the language difference. The owner personally took charge and handled it to our satisfaction. Will definitely be back! :-)

Review 37:The only thing I didn't like were the people smoking just outside the reception door. The smoke would make it's way into the dining area. The hotel should place "no smoking" signs near the doors.

Review 38:I liked everything in this hotel. Decor, location, size of room/bed, high ceilings, modern polished stone washroom, large LED TV, very friendly staff, large modern lift, great food/breakfast, fast and reliable wifi.

Review 39:The hotel never received the reservation from booking.com. When we checked in they only had one room left. We potentially didn't have a room.

Review 40:Quirkiness

Review 41:I didn't like that the fan wouldn't stay in when we turned off the lights to go to bed. It was very hot

Review 42:We had the family superior sweet and it was very grand! The shower was a rain and all body shower! The bedding was so Clem's and nice and the pillows were excellent. I feel that is important. The breakfast was nice as well and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The wifi also worked great.

Review 43:No bad experience - I was aware from other reviews that it is quite a lively place on a Saturday night but this did not deter me - the comfort and location of the hotel more than made up for one night of music!

Review 44:The staff were very friendly and helpful, good central location, big comfortable room, good buffet breakfast - and the property has lots of character.

Review 45:The smoking section is outside - however right by the door that leads into the eating area. The wind blows it right into the building and at times you can even smell it up stairs. Never in your room, but I thought it odd to have smokers go out side when the smoke came in anyway. I would have the smoking area moved away from the door or keep the door closed.

Review 46:The sometimes 'odd' yet intriguing atmosphere.

Review 47:The decor was over whelming and a bit strange. You also checkin at the bar which throw us off a bit as well as the hidden elevator was neat but a little creepy.

Review 48:The room was large, clean and very comfortable, the also had secure parking which was nice.

Review 49:Having to walk through the disco to get to my car when I forgot something. The bathroom was a little smelly too.

Review 50:Mostly everything :)especially parking !

Review 51:We knew there was a disco on site and had asked for the quietest room. We were given the room however the noise from the patrons who were celebrating outside was extremely loud. We all got very little sleep as it continued well into the early hours of the morning. There did not seem to be a curfew. This was not helped by the room being very hot so we had kept the window open. The Hotel does plan to get air con in the room over the summer. The management was apologetic, however the same thing happened the following night.

Review 52:The staff were very friendly and helpful. They encouraged us to visit the Old Town, which is beautiful and only a short walk from the Hotel. They also provided information about the Pottery outlets which was the main purpose of our visit.

Review 53:We stayed on a Friday night. They have music in the bar. Sometimes we could hear that music into the late hours of the night. Friday nights have a discount price because of that fact, I believe.

Review 54:When we drove up to the hotel, the owner met us, showed us where to park, and gave us a personal tour to make sure that we understood where all accommodations in the hotel were. We found his staff to be most pleasant, we found the food to be great, and we found the little dance bar in the basement to be a fun place to hang out.

Review 55:The hotel was quaint and the service was superb. Excellent deal for the price and we really liked that they had a parking area for our cars that was fenced in. Our room ewas beautiful with a nice shower/bathroom and all the amenities we needed. So thankful for the excellent service!

Review 56:*Ground floor room was directly connected to outside and bit scared but kind staff can change the room upon requested.

Review 57:* Kind Staff * Reasonable Price * Nice dinner

Review 58:Just a wonderful hotel whose staff treat you like King and Queen. We ate all three nights in the restaurant. You should see the huge spread at breakfast! Staff is so nice, ...fantastic value! Shall return again.

Review 59:Definitely too loud on Friday & Saturday nights (party with disco in the basement) - hard to catch any sleep before 2 a.m. Doesn't quite fit this otherwise upper middle-class hotel.

Review 60:Friendly staff, good location, nice building.

Review 61:THE place to stay. We stayed here while I shopped for Polish pottery. The stores are very close by. Our room, room 27, was the nicest room I have ever had in a hotel. The bathroom had a gigantic tub with 8 shower heads and the tile bathroom floor was heated. The room was huge and nicely decorated with antique furniture. The owner introduced himself to us. He is a very nice, helpful young man. Restaurant was great and we enjoyed seeing the resident cats.

Review 62:This place completely shocked our family at how nice of a hotel this was. Rooms are older style decorations/Victorian. Restaurant has excellent food for the price and breakfast was perfect. Parking out back is safe and gated with CCTV watching your vehicle. Owners are really friendly and helpful. Made us coffee and snacks from the breakfast bar to take on our trip. Thanks!

Review 63:Tuesday was quiet, but on Sat. night (and Fri.) we learned there is a disco in the basement. The young people outside talking past 02:00 in the night and music kept us from sleeping well. The owners suggested that next time we ask for a room on the 3rd floor if we come on the weekend.

Review 64:We really enjoyed our stay on a Tuesday night on our way into Poland, so we returned on the following Sat. night on the way home. The downstairs restaurant, the room, and the shower are excellent.

Review 65:none

Review 66:The hotel decor was really fun. Restaurant food was delicious and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable the room was big. The english tv channels were a nice plus too.

Review 67:Complete WIFI breakdown after 6pm, on page was loading 5 minutes after many attempts ->the hotel must upgrade its internet tariff to face the demanding needs of clients on internet in peak hours (especially in the aftrenoon and at night). I also got a blister on my foot which must come from this hotel as I have not been to any other open place in last week.

Review 68:Warm place with artistic spirit, luxurious outfit, nice staff. Despite the poor internet dimensioning I would come again.

Review 69:1. The check-in desk is the bar at the pub. weird. 2. We reserved the family room. It gave us the choice of four single beds and a double (sleeping 6) or two singles and a double (sleeping 4). We chose the setup for six. We received a follow-up email from the hotel to double check our choice. We confirmed our sleeping arrangements for six. When we arrived, there were only two single beds and a double. I doubt there would have been space in the room for five beds anyway.

Review 70:It was a clean hotel. Breakfast was great. The owner stopped by our table to chat. Charming.

Review 71:I have stayed at Villa Ambasada three times and I recommend it to all my friends.

Review 72:I love this hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is delicious.

Review 73:It's Bolesławiec, okay. The only reason as a tourist to visit is to see and shop polish pottery. You can do that in a day.

Review 74:The hotel and rooms were outstanding. I would stay here again if I could and would love to find other hotels of the same quality;.

Review 75:Hotel Ambasada is a treasure. The gated parking is plentiful, the breakfast delicious, and the staff perhaps the happiest of any hotel we have stayed in within Europe. This is a place you want to stay if you enjoy hanging out with the locals eating and dancing on the weekend and a quiet place to relax during the week. The breakfast during the week includes a few more local foods, which are absolutely amazing, while the weekend breakfast felt special for a more typical British/American crowd.

Review 76:Nothing ...it was all in order!!!

Review 77:What is there not to like...the Architecture of the Building sets the tone when you drive up....the Eclectic Art is all at once whimsical and the nude photos were very tasteful with the added schmear of the local clay to pay homage to Mother Earth for the gift of art supporting life (Boleslawiec is the center for Polish Pottery)...The staff was excellent, polite, caring, warm, friendly and professional in every way possible. Renata, the Hotel GM was on top of everything...and a real sweetheart. Bogdan senior ( Professional Artist, Polish Expat native to Paris and colleague of Marcel Marceau) and Bogdan junior (the Owner, Global Entrepreneur and citizen of the world)were friendly and engaging and very considerate of their guests needs. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable...dinner and Lunch were delicious...the service was impeccable...and the live music was an added bonus...recommend it for friends, lovers, couples and families...all at once.

Review 78:Nothing!

Review 79:Artsy eclectic atmosphere coupled with local history antiques. The building it self is a treasure but staying there was the real joy. Staff are welcoming and kind. Bartenders make a mean cocktail. Breakfast is really superb! We didn't eat dinner there but we saw many dishes going out and it all looked scrumptious! Location was a simple walk to the heart of the restored town. Parking easy and WiFi worked great. There was a disco each night of the weekend which we enjoyed immensely! Once we headed up to our rooms... the music was not intrusive. Great stay!!

Review 80:Nude artwork inside and outside, although, the giant sculpture of a man, on top of one of the building outside, did make me laugh!

Review 81:The staff was very nice. The food was good, especially the chocolate cake which melts in your mouth. The antique decor was beautiful! The granite bathroom with heated floors and modern shower was excellent!

Review 82:We rented 2 rooms here the night of Dec 23rd. We booked it last minute and unlike the place we stayed in Paris, Berlin and Prague... This place was fantastic. It put the other places to shame. One thing we loved was the family running this 'home', I say home because you really feel at home here. We met the owner who was very helpful in answering all our questions, his wife and father-in-law. We'd have loved to stay longer but our plans didn't allow for it. Our rooms were beautiful and quiet, plenty of space and updated. A lot of care went into remodeling this place and it didn't lose its character in the update. We ate dinner there and breakfast before leaving all of which is reasonably priced and very delicious. We will stay there again when going back for more pottery shopping!

Review 83:+ restaurant/ pub Piwnica Paryska + food (dinner & breakfast) + interiors + huge comfy bed + free jazz concert + local decorations (ceramics) + good choice of beers + parking + WiFi + babies friendly + floor heating in the bathroom Frankly speaking everything in this place is excellent. Will come back.

Review 84:Very friendly and helpful staff Beautiful rooms like al palace Great breakfast Nice bar and good food in restaurant Great location, only 3 min walk from the beautiful old city center.

Review 85:The hotel decorated in great looking antiques. Felt like we were back in history. Great morning breakfast and dinner was never a disappointment. Highly recommend!

Review 86:Was pleased with what they offered for the price we paid. I would suggest they get a reception area--a bit awkward checking in at the bar. However, one could also chuck this up to the personality of the place. Also, an FYI--the shower in our room was super neat, very modern. Upon turning it on didn't realize that it had 2 top spickets that were side to side, a lower hand held spicket, and two in the center that streamed water all at the turn of one knob. Needless to say, I and the bathroom floor got waterlogged on the first try. But once I mastered how to work it, it was a cool way to shower!

Review 87:I loved the ambience of this hotel. It is like a throw back to days of where establishments like this focused on the customer; where the setting was cozy and intimate and not sterile; and where there actually is an owner, who takes the time to conversate with the guests. The hotel is infused with an eclectic array of artwork and antiques, stone walls, high back chairs and love seats, red velvet, house cats, and expresso machines! I definitely loved the mix of old with the modern that this little place offers, as well as the hospitality of the owner. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Review 88:The lady at the front desk checked us on and gave us keys to room 31. After entering the room, we were quite impressed and began to unpack. After unpacking and getting settled, we see her in the hallway as we were leaving the hotel and she informs us that we were placed in the wrong room. We had to repack our stuff immediately and change to room 21, which was not impressive at all. Tiny bathroom and the shower had some mold. We weren't compensated for our trouble but luckily we only stayed one night. Also, the menu to the restaurant was disappointing. There wasn't many Polish dishes.

Review 89:Breakfast was included.

Review 90:My only complaint was the bed. It wasn't very comfortable which had me tossing and turning all night.

Review 91:The location was perfect, smack dab in the middle of Boleslawiec. The staff was extremely friendly and always helpful especially with a one year old. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms spacious. I would definitely stay again?

Review 92:Have no complaints. Wonderful hotel!

Review 93:This hotel was beyond expectations! The building has beautiful exterior and the inside has luxurious accommodations. Staff is friendly, and so accommodating Both nights we ate in dining room, as well as breakfast...and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The owner made us feel so welcome. Enjoyed our times with him, and was so helpful with instructions on how to get around the city. The market square is a short walk away, and so charming. We would gladly recommend to others, as well as staying here again!

Review 94:Had car problems as soon as we arrived in town. Stopped at service station but was unable to receive what we needed and find info with the language barrier. Stopped at hotel to get suggestions and owner hopped in our car and drove to every station in town/relayed our problem and found the solution. He was a trip saver. All staff is super friendly. Hotel is decorated with such beautiful treasures does not feel like a hotel at all. Large, clean room. Close to shopping. Walking distance to shopping plaza and wonderful bakery. Recommend stopping there and picking up some cakes for dessert.

Review 95:The shower didn't have a wall or curtain and water splashed all over the room. Our bed didn't have a sheet on it, only a mattress pad.

Review 96:We were in Boleslawiec to buy Polish pottery and the location of the hotel was excellent. We were able to drive to the shops close by and our car was secure in the hotel parking lot at night. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was lovely with a king size bed. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and inviting. The service was excellent. The staff speak English well. The included breakfast is superb! It is the best breakfast that we have ever had in a hotel.

Review 97:The hotel was perfect the Restaurant was also amazing food was fantastic and service was top notch. If your going polish pottery shopping this is a great hotel I stay at I will be back to this establishment.

Review 98:There was nothing about the hotel that I didn't like. Be warned though that on the weekends they turn the downstairs restaurant into a disco that runs until about 3 in the morning. I mentioned the blues band playing. The band was really good by the way, but they ended at 10 p.m. since it was a Sunday. Our room was right above where they were playing. If you like to go to bed early or a light sleeper you may want a room on the upper floor on the weekends.

Review 99:Price, location. Food in restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. Room was very clean, they are refurbishing the rooms so everything is new. Bathroom had wall to wall marble with a 7 head messaging shower. While we were eating a blues band was playing. Hotel is walking distance of town center. Had a great time.

Review 100:Service was slow in the resturant but the food was very good.

Review 101:Great place to stay. Great atmosphere and beautiful building. We had the premium room that cost us 105.46 US dollars. The had very nice decor and was huge. A free breakfast came with the room and it was very good. The staff was helpful and we met the owner during breakfast when he came in to see how our stay was. I would stay at this hotel again in a heart beat.

Review 102:It was Friday when we checked in and the disco sound that night from the basement made us sleepless that night. There is no aircon or even an electric fan in the room.

Review 103:Nice hotel and excellent breakfast. The private parking lot is good. It's all worth the money.

Review 104:The decor of the hotel was creepy. The Hotel reception is in a bar. Friday and Saturday nights the reception area turns into a club with loud pulsing music which makes it hard to to sleep. If you are considering getting an early start, don't. You are not allowed to check out until 8.

Review 105:The room was spacious and clean. The shower was amazing. The parking lot is locked at night so I felt safe leaving my car.

Review 106:Hotel Ambasada in Boleslawiec has style, glamour and comfort. Rooms very spacious, beautiful bathroom, great surrounding. Exceptional service, restaurant serves traditional polish yummy food. This hotel exceeded our expectations.

Review 107:Oddly enough, true to its European setting, there were several nude art pieces scattered around the reception floor, lobby area, and breakfast area. So you may have to avert young eyes, or at least do some pre-game explaining. Other than that, great stay at a great price.

Review 108:I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast! It was a great spread. The rooms were big, fairly priced, and the hotel was in the heart of all the pottery shopping you could ever want.

Review 109:This was one of the most comfortable, beautiful places I've stayedat in Europe. The bed was very comfortable and king size, which is quiterarer over here.

Review 110:This is not my first time staying at this hotel. The staff is amazing, the family room is huge was perfect for a group of ladies to retire at after a long day of Polish pottery shopping! There even was a big table in the middle of the room where we can sit back and have a great chat.

Review 111:We had a reservation on a Saturday when the hotel hosts music and dancing late into the evening. We had earplugs, so we were able to sleep without any problem. I would recommend bringing some if you will be staying over the weekend.

Review 112:Nice breakfast with a lot of variety; beautiful furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel; marble bathroom with jacuzzi; friendly staff. I left my iPad charging in the room when we left. The next day I called and the cleaning staff had given it to the hotel management who, in turn, mailed it to me. I am very grateful!! I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

Review 113:As we stayed during the Pottery Festival, we were warned by the owner that the music would be loud and late. It was. Had we come another time, I doubt it would have been quite as loud.

Review 114:Fantastic location, walking distance to city center, centrally located for polish pottery shopping. Amazing food- the restaurant and bar were busy serving travelers and locals alike. Live music in the evening Outdoor dining available on a lovely patio Gorgeous décor Friendly and out going staff Comfortable rooms that suited our group of 11 women, but they would also work well for families.

Review 115:HOT. There was a fan in the room, but the room was so large we really needed two.

Review 116:Great staff. Central location, easy to get around. We enjoyed the pizza and salad at the restaurant. Secure parking on site. Very charming room.

Review 117:This was not only a great place for my family to stay while visiting Boleslawiec, the owners were very friendly, accommodating and helpful with our visit. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Review 118:nothing

Review 119:This place was unbeliveable. The hotel was like nothing I have ever stayed in. The decor was like being in a hollywood movie. The owner was very pleasant and very accommadating. You definately won't reget staying in this hotel. We had our two teenage sons with us and they loved it as well. The breakfast was well worth it as well.

Review 120:The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, which gave it a slightly disjointed feel. Was told the renovations will be complete August 2014

Review 121:Beautifully furnished and very friendly hotel. Our room was nothing short of spectacular. Convenient for the town centre and the various pottery factories. Very highly recommended

Review 122:Excellent service and beautiful hotel and room!

Review 123:Much better value than blue beetroot which is very popular with US travelers. Fascinating artistic flair. Great location.

Review 124:The hotel was very cool inside, unique and clean along with super friendly staff...

Review 125:clean room and great breakfast.

The Fine Print

Please note that there is an on-site dance club and some noise can be expected at the weekends.
