Overlooking the Hokitika River and the surrounding mountains, Rimu Lodge features a shared lounge area with a fireplace and a breakfast room with fresh fruit and juice, and homemade cereal.
All rooms come with a flat-screen TV, tea-and-coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Some rooms have a terrace as well as views of the Hokitika River and the nearby mountains.
The boutique lodge also offers free Wi-Fi in all areas, and there is a guest computer available for use. Guests can borrow bicycles to explore the surrounding area.
Rimu Lodge is a 10-minute drive from Hokitika town centre, where there is a variety of cafés, restaurants and bars. Lake Kaniere and Hokitika Gorge are both 30 minutes’ drive away. Hokitika Airport is 6.2 miles away.

Review 4：Helen was very welcoming and the lodge is stunning. Lovely large bedroom with superb view. Very peaceful. Delicious breakfast. Also had a good meal at the Woodstock Hotel down the road (the Woodie). Great to meet Leanne and Colin the owners.

Review 12：Great views, excellent hospitality and a very good breakfast. We had an upstairs room with lovely views over the surrounding area. The room was very spacious and well equipped and there is a beautiful residents lounge with a cathedral vaulted ceiling. It is an easy drive into Hokitika to eat and explore the town.

Review 16：My wife and I have just returned to the UK from a 12 night stay in 11 different hotels in New Zealand, all picked from Booking.com ratings. All were very good, but one alone was exceptional and that was Rimu Lodge. We have scored all the others very highly [9.5+] but this hotel alone has prompted us to fill in the comments box to say that our stay at Rimu lodge was immaculate in every way - from the high quality toilet paper [not found in other more expensive places] to the drinks in the fridge, the view, the beds, wifi, and most of all our very friendly, helpful and yet un-pushy hosts. If we ever return to New Zealand [as I hope we will one day] we will definitely try and stay at Rimu lodge again.
