Reviews for Hotel Parkway

Review 1:There was nothing wrong with the hotel. The area of Kawayu Onsen was particularly lacking this time of year with most of the big hotels in the area looking closed for winter. There was not a single café, restaurant, izakaya open. At Kawayu Onsen station area near the hotel there was one café and a small shop which shut fairly early.

Review 2:The Onsen located at the back of the hotel is set in a Japanese garden with small lighting around. At night it was particularly beautiful surrounds to enjoy the onsen experience.

Review 3:Very close to JR, good price, the hot spring is very good, with indoor and outdoor for 24 hr services. Hot spring is clean, hot and comfortable. The owner is also very nice!

Review 4:The room seemed pretty clean, but there was thin layer of dust on the room decorations. There was only one coin laundry machine in the hotel.

Review 5:Good location for the ones who travel by train rather than driving. It was only a couple of minutes walk from the Kawayuonsen station and next to the Mount Iwo, the sulphuric mountain. The hotel has a natural onsen (both indoor and outdoor), which is also open to non-residents. It's perfect after a long day of hiking. The room was good size in Japanese standard. It was a Japanese style room with the benefit of separate toilet (not shared with others). My favourite thing about the hotel was the food. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, especially the dinner, with multiple selection of dishes being served (not self-service), including fresh sashimi and shabu shabu (hot pot). The wifi connection was fast, but only available around the lobby area and the restaurant.

Review 6:No private toilet. Choice of food in the restaurant very limited.

Review 7:Natural hot spring. Hotel right between Mashu Lake and Kushuro Lake, and close to Mt. Iou. Very convenient to go round if you have a car

Review 8:My room faced the big parking lot (as most rooms, I believe), where 3 tour buses kept their motors running for an hour the first evening.

Review 9:Very nice hotel in every aspect. In particular I liked the room (good size, well furnished), the onsen with the outdoor pool and the delicious Japanese breakfast. Regarding the location, a plus is the proximity to the JR train station and the lovely nature walk between Mt. Iou and Kawayu. There is a smallish grocery shop, too, but not much else.

Review 10:A little "decadent". A place for old couples travelling by bus and some bikers, that sure has lived better times.

Review 11:Handsome road hotel. It has a curious karaoke in a wagon, at the outside, that you can book and use! Indoors and outdoors baths (onsen), separated and mixed. Near to the station...

Review 12:a bit run down,a coat of paint etc would do wonders! bit tricky to get places without a car but we were lucky as we hitch hiked and got a personal tour of the lake nearby...

Review 13:great onsen close to station.great food.nearby to sulphur mountain...walking distance.

Review 14:Wifi not available from room.

Review 15:Location

Review 19:Clean room
