Reviews for Oyado Kinkiyu

Review 1:No WIFI in room. Also no restaurant except the halfboard, which the food is ok compare to other onsen hotel. Facility is also dated for it's price range. Also since came in winter time, not a lot of activities or things to fo, which the hotel can improve on

Review 2:Good location within kawayu town and close to bus stops to JR station. The onsen is nice and wuite large, with multiple temperature pools. It is quite unique with the high acidity. Staffs are also very friendly. Dinner is simple but good

Review 3:If you love the idea of time traveling to the 70s I guess this is your best option. It looks like the hotel hasn't change a bit in 30-40 years. The hotel staff was not very cheerful and then did not gave us the right time schedule for the bus, so we almost missed our last train. The room was noisy.

Review 4:The location was central even though in the winter there is not much to do at walking distance. The room was clean and spacious. The futon were comfortable and warm. The spa was nice but not wonderful either.

Review 5:The wifi is only working in the lobby.

Review 6:Japanese style bedrooms, clean, comfortable and very convenient. You even have a fridge and hot water for tea as well as a Yukata for you to go to the onsen. The staff is looking for your best comfort (For example, I asked to warm up my breakfeast (wich I bought on a convenience store, not even from the hostel) and they warmed it up and get it to my room).

Review 7:For the money no air conditioner, or even soap in the room. Smell of sulfur can't hide the urine smell in the on-sen. WiFi only in the lobby.

Review 8:Good size room even for Japanese style. Very good set dinner.

Review 9:The hotel was in the middle of a town that appears to be suffering from a struggling economic situation. Many shops were boarded up n out of business. The hotel itself has seen better days with sections of it in neglect and disrepair. The evening we arrived, one lift was not in service and the morning of our checkout, both lifts had stopped working. We had to carry our luggage down 7 flights of stairs. The gift shops and restaurants (which was expensive) in the town combined, could be counted on both hands and they surrounded the hotel. The guests were mainly the elderly coming for the sulphuric baths. The breakfast buffet was extremely basic. We were glad we stayed only one night.

Review 10:Bath towels were provided. Large clean room.

Review 11:Attention to detail in room and well presented breakfast.

Review 12:There is an in-house onsen, great location in the little town, public bus stops are a few minutes walk away.

Review 13:Every things except spa

Review 14:For a small 3-star hotel, I expected it to be priced lower.

Review 15:Well located in the center of a small town. Quite a personalized hotelwith friendly service. Front desk staff spoke good English and gave goodtourist advice. The (Japanese-style) room and the Spa were clean and the(Japanese) buffet breakfast was great.
