Reviews for Stad Munster

Review 1:Staff was shockingly rude, the food was very overpriced. The room did not resemble the photos in the least. We reserved a room that was described as having a bath tub. In fact, it did not. When I let the staff know this the reason I had booked this room, they shrugged and told me I could look elsewhere but would need to pay for the room. Then, breakfast was quite poor. We took a look at the meager buffet and decided not to partake. We did not even sit down, and the staff said we still had to pay 27 euro because we had said we wanted breakfast. We explained that we had been led to believe the breakfast was much different and therefore this was poor customer care, he shrugged said OK and demanded our payment. Additionally, they have a curfew as they lock guests in the hotel at night. All in all, the experience with the staff was the worst we have experienced in 6 months of travel in Asia, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. We left feeling terribly treated and lied to with no concern for our experience.

Review 2:The location and the hotel lobby area was quite lovely.

Review 3:Seemed unable to a accommodate my short notice breakdast request. Was told breakfast was fully booked even when tables remained empty 45mins after I had initially asked !!

Review 4:The lady at the front desk was very cheerful and friendly

Review 5:The bells We had a great room overlooking the square but also opposite the church that loves to ring its bells! Every 15 minutes, quietening down from 9pm

Review 6:We arrived and checked in with no problems Lady owner friendly and spoke good english, even made a special menu for 13 of us to have dinner & best we had during our stay trying various restaurants

Review 7:The bedroom was too small. And the single bed was placed against two walls with barely room to turn. It also has a board along the end where the head rests at about head-height if sitting up, so if you sit up it pokes into your head. The room also had no outlook. Payment on departure, was handled so badly by a staff member, that I told her of my dissatisfaction with her gruff manner and lack of courtesy. When I mentioned this to the female proprietor, she told me the person was only recently back at work after some personal issues. This was personal information I didn't need to know. But if known by the proprietor, then the staff person should not have been placed in the position to deal with guests.

Review 8:The restaurant was okay, although quite expensive for the location, as was their wine list.

Review 9:Not told that the windows were covered with scaffolding and plastic for building works so view of church obscured, or that builders start work early, and wake us up and able to look through window, or that the windows were not secured.

Review 10:Location

Review 11:No major concern

Review 12:The room was warm and cosy. Clean towels and bed linens but mould in the bathroom walls. suitable for short stay

Review 13:Really nice and kind people.

Review 16:The breakfast was too expensive and the hotel I felt was also over priced.

Review 17:Location was very good.the land lady was very welcoming

Review 18:Staff too inflexible at times and there's a soft 10pm curfew!!!

Review 23:everything excellent

Review 24:nothing really

Review 25:The view to the square, the breakfast, the WiFi and more...

Review 26:lack of teapot, late breakfast (from 7am)

Review 27:beautiful place, nice owners, very clean, big rooms, free wi-fi, good location

Review 28:1.Too close to church. The church bell was too loud and was ringing every hour even at night. 2. Very poor breakfast variety. 3. Over price menu. 4. No room service.

Review 29:The single room was small, car parking space at back of hotel was small, and so may have to park on the side road which has a 2 hour max stay, the town can be busy do hard to park.

Review 30:The bar, breakfast and staff were excellent. The location being in the town was quite and ideal, with the square bustling with restraunts, shops, casino, cinema a,ice- cream parlours. Also the market comes to town on a Saturday and the place comes alive.

Review 31:There is a church across the street that rings bells on the hour and 1/2 hour.. so if you are a light sleeper -- bring earplugs. I had a room on the back of the hotel, and could not hear the church bells.

Review 32:Beautiful hotel in the city center. Hotel has a nice bar, and gourmet restaurant. There is a beautiful common room with chairs, fireplace, and you can have drinks dessert in for casual talking. Shopping, other restaurants are very close. Hotel staff is very accomodating. There is an elevator available. There is lots of hot water available for showers and baths. Nice thick towels, and very comfortable bedding.

Review 33:If you don't have a car getting about can be difficult - a bus each hour

Review 34:Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable, but the real strength of this hotel is its restaurant. The evening meal was excellent.

Review 35:A little too quiet for me.

Review 36:The hospitality from the staff was lovely. They made us feel welcome and had a very "homey" feel. Simone and her husband are lovely and can't do enough to make you feel comfortable. All staff speak english which made it very easy. The hotel is situated in a sqaure with lots of restaurants and shops. The area is quiet and is ideal for a relaxing stay and if you are keen on getting on a bike this is the place for you.

Review 37:No ac in the rooms, but luckily there was a fan available which made theheat (which doesn't happen that often in the Netherlands) bearable.

Review 38:Quality of the restaurant, very friendly & helpful personnel!!

Review 39:Room very warm.

Review 40:location in old town centre. Hotel has character. Room decor very nice.
