Reviews for Centara Mae Sot Hill Resort

Review 1:Room was comfortable. Great pool. Food at restaurant very good. Try the spaghetti napolitano! The exterior was being painted and looked fresh. The interior was a little aged but tidy.

Review 2:The breakfast room needs some attention. Many tables were in the sun and that was too hot. Breakfast was sufficient.

Review 3:Very comfortable stay! Pool is really nice and there seems to be lots of facilities ie. Gym, function rooms etc although I didn't use them. The standard of this hotel exceeded my expectations and I would definitely stay again!

Review 4:Disco pounding bass blaster music started at 10pm and could be heard even on the third floor of the hotel till 1am. Was going to stay a second night but decided to leave after they changed my room and the air con was not working. Internet was slow and not always working. Rooms are small and the carpets are very old and dirty.

Review 5:Swimming Pool. Grounds and Breakfast. Staff.

Review 6:Our party had interconnecting rooms but hot water was available in one room but only lukewarm in the other. However it was sufficient to freshen up when the humidity was so high.

Review 7:Mae Sod Hill consitently provides a good standard of service and cleanliness. It provides comfortable beds, large rooms, breakfast included in the tarriff. There is a pool ang gym, it's not far from the town centre.

Review 8:far away from everything, was ok for us as we have a car needs more parasols around the pool

Review 9:stayed there on the 21st and 27th of march 2015 very nice staff, Tony, the general manager is very accommodating and friendly breakfast is good rooms are clean, spacious, but have carpeted floor enjoyable buffet dinner at weekends lovely pool but gets overcrowded from 4.00 pm when I think the whole town comes here to enjoy a swim, it is quite loud with the teens playing their music but not too annoying by far not the best of Centara's hotel chain but pleasant and amiable

Review 10:Hotel is quite run down, need repair. Low quality breakfast.

Review 11:Location is good

Review 12:Hotel's restaurant name Chay Aam is good !

Review 13:Breakfast Bed room Bed sheet not clean enough Employee not so nice

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:None.

Review 17:carpet is old

Review 18:location

Review 19:many ants in bathroom

Review 20:swimming pool is good in mae sot

Review 21:The hotel is very old and need renovation. Carpet and all decoration are all very old and dirty.

Review 22:Good, and complete facilities.

Review 23:Wifi spoty

Review 24:Terrific pool Great breakfast Friendly staff Large room

Review 25:Check out took about 20 minutes, and not because there were a lot of people... The hotel could do with some refurbishment - in the rooms, the restaurant...

Review 26:Even though the hotel was almost empty the staff tried everything they could to make you feel you are not the only guest... Very friendly and nice and helpful Loved to have the swimming pool for myself...

Review 27:Food in dining room disgusting. Room very outdated and needs renovating. Bathroom sink cracked. TV very old and battered Air con sounds like a generator. Slippers that were left in room had been used and had black where feet had been. Had to ask for iron but had no ironing board. Wardrobe shelves dusty. Whole room looks like it hadn't been cleaned. Hair on bathroom floor.

Review 28:Seems to have been taken over by the Border Police. Restaurant Service hopelessly inadequate. Breakfast poor. Hotel much in need of refurbishment and lacks management flair. Not in the mountains but by a busy road.

Review 29:Nice Outlook from the Restaurant. Rooms good. Very nice but unmotivated staff.

Review 30:Though, I stayed on the 3rd floor room 304 on the way to my room along the walked way plate were left outside at the corner of the entrance and was not clear timelyduring the few days I was there

Review 31:Your front desk manager was very helpful in all situation. Keep up the good job.will be back again.thanks

Review 32:The wash basin in both rooms booked had been broken and thus demerit the image of a 3 star hotel.

Review 33:Convenient location for stay after a long drive. One of the best hotels, or could-be-said the best of best hotel, around Mae Sot

Review 34:Dinner menus not so good.

Review 35:The best in Mae Sot. Pool and exercise facilities. Large clean rooms. Wifi in lobby. Accommodating friendly staff. Great breakfast.

Review 36:The condition of the road when approaching Mae Sot from Tak. Hotel wise no dislikes.

Review 37:I liked all but since I have been visiting the hotel for over 20 years not much has changed.

Review 38:The restaurant is quite poor, the good staff have now resigned and moved to Phuket. I left my wedding ring on the dressing table whilst checking out, I realized after leaving the car park that I'd left it, we did a quick u-turn then straight to the room 322. The ring had gone ! The maid was questioned, the GM wouldn't accept responsibility. We have been staying here since 2002 and have put up with the poor hotel through loyalty, we wont stay again, it's not safe, just check the electrics behind the bedside cabinets.

Review 39:My daughter liked the pool

Review 40:Like all upcountry Thai hotels...the walls are too thin and you often hear next door's TV. The breakfast is pretty poor really...they should do better on that one.

Review 41:Have stayed here many times and will continue to do so. It's not really Centara standard but it's comfortable and professionally run by very nice staff. Many of the guests are NGOs and charity workers headed for the camps and it suits us because it's clean and practical without costing too much. The pool is large and good.

Review 42:Dining room menu could be improved. Food not served at same time for our group. Dining room was hot. Hotel room and restaurant had lots of mosquitoes.

Review 43:Very comfortable room and bed. Very good buffet breakfast with something for everyone

Review 44:Hardly a flagship hotel for the Central group. It was built when itlooked like Burma was opening up last time. Now it's havingsomething of a Renaissance. It's been home to visiting NGOs andobservers for many years as budget travellers don't find Mae sot(one of the most interesting towns in Thailand) very interesting asthere aren't enough bars or places to meet people exactly like them.So this place will be bulldozed at some point and a bigger swankierplace will go up at the same large and handy location. Like mostprovincial hotels in Asia walls are paper thin so it's pot-luckwhether you get next doors tv all night or a family argument. But whatyou will get is everyone else's plumbing given a major workout formabout 5.30 A.M. every day!

Review 45:You can get lucky and get a quiet night there...get a room at the back.As near the end of the corridor as possible. The beds are a touch hardbut ok. Sheets etc very good quality. Free internet in room works well.Tv service pretty ok too. Breakfast excellent. All staff very friendlyand efficient for an up-country hotel.

Review 46:It is situated on the outskirts of the city and one must have transportation to go anywhere. Their restaurant is good but expensive. A bucket of ice costs 50 baht! The rooms could use some updating. TV has only one English channel.

Review 47:Friendly staff.

Review 48:The hotel is fairlyold and not really of the same standard as many may expect from Centara Hotels but at the same time it is much cheaper than the average Centara Hotel.

Review 49:This hotel is excellent value for money and is conveniently located close to everything in town. It has the benefit of a swimming pool and fitness facilities that other cheaper hotels in town do not have..

Review 50:I have stayed at this hotel several times before, it puts me in mind of a fading film star. With every visit as each year passes, so does the grandeur of what was once a fine establishment. The windows were filthy, the swimming pool murky, the gardens becoming overgrown, and there are scuffs, scrapes and damaged or scratched paintwork everywhere you look. The remote control for the TV didn't work and the Air Con was noisy. I attempted to unplug the bedside lamp, in order to charge my laptop, unfortunately there was no socket just a maize of jumbled, bare wires. Very dangerous, particularly with an inquisitive two year old boy on hand eager to find something interesting to play with. It also has to be said that the hotel in every aspect is far from cheap compared to the plethora of surrounding hotels. Would I stay again? Yes, for convenience, the bed, and some sort of misplaced nostalgia.

Review 51:The Centara Mae Sot Hill Resort is easy to find and very well located close to the town, the Burmese border and and Rim Moei Market. The reception area is grand and imposing, the rooms are well proportioned, with good quality, if a little worn and dated furniture. The bed/mattress and pillows are as good as you will get anywhere, I slept for nearly ten hours. The speedy internet service was also a pleasant surprise, after being told by the booking agent that there was no internet connection.

Review 52:There were no facilities in the rooms for boiling water to make tea or coffee ourselves

Review 53:The pool was being cleaned over a weekend???? The hotel is showing its age.

Review 54:Price is okay.

Review 55:too old

Review 56:nothing specific for this hotel, just stay and go should be ok

Review 57:Need more clean

Review 58:Bed comfortable .

Review 59:Excellent service !

Review 60:too loud noise from flushing water

Review 61:Free Internet service

Review 62:The rooms are old and the whole place needs some renovating.

Review 63:The staff was excellent and friendly. Very helpful.
