Reviews for Sunseeker Holiday Complex

Review 1:The apartment was a little worn down and needs renovation, things that were breaking, toilet flush needed fixing, the beds were too hard for my liking. Air conditioning was possible to pay extra for, but personally I prefer it to be included and yes I think it was necessary even in early Oktober.

Review 2:The location was very good. Even though there was no seaview (unless on the roof terrace) or other good view for that matter from our apartment, it was very close the sea and everything else. Friendly staff. Very fast response if I asked for extra cleaning or fixing toilet flush for example.

Review 3:Shower was poor. These are being updated however from end of October along with refurb of the bedrooms.

Review 4:Location was excellent. Staff on the whole very friendly.

Review 5:The fan in our room was given out hot air in the middle of the night causing me to have two asthma attacks, it was already boiling let alone with that spreading heat, really struggled to breathe, also they give you a starter pack and you have to pay for it at the end even ifs out of date!... Very snidy, I stayed two years ago loved it was disappointed to pay so much and recieve so little

Review 6:There was a lovely lady who works there

Review 7:The old kitchen appliances were a little difficult to use, for example the grill set on fire due to a build up of fat stuck at the top but I've heard rumours of a referb so if that's true I'll be back!

Review 8:we loved the location, the size of our balcony (we think it was the biggest one), fully stocked kitchen equipment, plenty of cutlery & plates, we loved everything apart from the old school cooker

Review 10:Additional (optional) charges for most extras - wifi/internet, television, hot tub etc - but this is probably how they manage to keep the overall charges for accomodation low.

Review 11:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar facilities were small but reasonable. Roof top pool is lovely. Having a small food shop was useful and seemed fairly priced compared to other local shops.

Review 12:Shower and curtain was disgusting. Pillow smelt. The 'settee' in kitchen was plastic and certainly not comfortable. The roof pool didn't have many clean sun beds. It was basic.

Review 13:The owners and barman were very nice.

Review 14:Local restaurants roughly all the same most things with chips !

Review 15:ideal base for exploring Malta, we had a car all week but there is a good bus service. Clean, comfy and tidy nice to sit on balcony when we returned from our day out. Easy to get to ferry to get to Gozo from here.

Review 16:Bathroom is very outdated, needs renovation. Bed not too comfy.

Review 17:In my opinion it's overrated, I would give max 7 out of 10. Staff is very friendly and helpful, location is good rooms are spacy and clean but very basic.

Review 18:This apartment was beyond basic, it was tired, slightly smelly (stale smoke from previous smokers), grubby and noisy. The general demeanour was clean, the floors, Bed linen and so on, but you had to wash your hands if you touched the curtains. We asked for a quiet room as we had a toddler, however we got given the noisiest room at the front of the hotel. We were over the swimming pool and the entertainment room, plus when the service and delivery trucks came at various points (pre 6am) we were woken every time.

Review 19:The staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Kids loved the pools. The bar was cheap and cheerful. It also showed one of the English football games.

Review 20:Be prepared to pay for TV and wi-fi.

Review 21:Stayed in studio - room was with a sea view, very clean, towels were provided, kitchenette with basic cooking facilities, friendly staff. Hotel was close to all bars, shops, restaurants and seaside.

Review 22:You have to pay extra for wifi and the tv. Not much

Review 23:Basic but functional hotel. Kitchen is well equiped. Rooms are clean, quiet and ours was quite large. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Buggiba town was average but the buses from the bus depot which is a five minute walk away got you anywhere on the island for 1.5 euro but the bus drivers only know how to accelerate hard and break hard. Bus route 12 good. Costal route and stay on until the last stop which is in Valletta. Fantastic place to visit. Red Lion pub opposite the bus depot in Buggiba was run by a very nice couple and the food was excellent.

Review 24:Paid WiFi (although known beforehand) Beds were a bit uncomfortable

Review 25:Supporting and very friendly staff. Parking at hotel Swimming pool Location Mini market in hotel Value for money

Review 26:Location, helpful, friendly owners, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble if you need assistance, basic but very clean, everything you need to be self catering. Near to bus routes, bars and restaurants and day trips. Great value for money too, as is everything in Malta.

Review 27:I can't say anything bad about the Sunseeker Hotel. The family went out of their way to make you comfortable

Review 28:George came out to help us as my husband was suffering from asthma, he took our bags, knew us by name and showed us our room, felt welcomed immediately. During the week we met the family and saw how hard each worked to make your stay a pleasant one. It's family owned, not just a day to day job, it's their livelihood, so satisfied customers keep their business going. Can't say enough about the place, very organized, self contained hotel, from mini bar to pool and sauna. will certainly use the sunseeker hotel again and tell others. 10 star hotel to us.

Review 29:We chose January hoping for a quiet break away from our Bar after Christmas and New Year so a week of having small children next door crying and running around from 7.30am not what we hoped for

Review 30:Staff were lovely and helpful.Location was excellent.Mini market well stocked and value for money.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Good location very close to front and town centre. Sea view from some rooms and roof top pool. Friendly helpful staff Cleanliness Hardly any traffic noise Spacious comfortable reception and bar

Review 33:Air conditioning was quite poor and very noisy. We were there in October, so it was enough to use a fan, but I can't imagine this in July. Another very noisy thing was a fridge in a kitchen. We had to unplug it during the night to fall asleep.

Review 34:The hotel is ok. Location was good, but we had a booked car, so I can't say mutch about public transportation. There are few decent restaurants in the neighbourhood, few smaller shops and at least one bigger we found (we get directions from the hotel personel). There is even a small shop in the hotel with reasonable prices - similar to regular small shops.

Review 35:Very dirty bathroom with an unpleasant smell. Incomfortable sofa. For using the TV you need to pay - this is very funny to be noted in year 2014 :). If you are not at home it was OK, but still expensive compared to the value you receive.

Review 36:Good location. No need to pay for parking, in case there were no free parking, the staff helped by leaving the car in front of the hotel with the key and if needed the just parked with it. Friendly staff.

Review 37:Expensive Wifi

Review 38:Water pressure, temperatere very good. Helpful stuff, good location, quiet place. Warning! The WC is not wrong. Just push the little arm very quickly and keep it down until the stream comes.

Review 39:The hotel is old, nothing is renovated. The room smelled bad and the toilet was broken. TV was positioned in the living room of the apartment, which we considered an inconvenience. The lounge chairs from the pool were very dirty. Besides, we paid extra for everything, internet, gaming, including the TV remote. For what it offers, the prices are high. In addition, although we arrived at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, the room was not ready. And although we specified that we are coming for our honeymoon, they did not bother to prepare anything special. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Review 40:The only thing we appreciated at this hotel was that we were close to Buggiba square. The location is its only advantage from my point of view. Also, the staff is friendly.

Review 41:Bathroom. Shower needs attention - water escapes onto floor.

Review 42:Location. Staff friendly and obliging. Lovely pool on top terrace. Minimarket, laundry, 5 mins walk from beach.

Review 43:The Sunseeker Holiday Complex has excellent staff and good rooms, facilities, and a great location, well worth a visit, we have booked again for 2015

Review 44:Paying extra for computer use, wifi and tv.

Review 45:Very good for a group of friends with the bar and pool to meet in. Good location close to beach and the bus station.

Review 46:having to come home. No double bed in one bedroom apartment but it did have its pluss sides e.g my hubby couldn't sleep as he was to hot & he kept moving & i slept well as i had my own bed. i do know the two bedroom apartments have double beds though.

Review 47:Everything... staff, cleanliness, hotel facilities, big rooms also with decent facilities, comfy beds, roof top pool & snack bar, on site shop with reasonable prices, Ant minor probs i did have were dealt with their and then e.g light bulb & gas for the cooker. welcome pack which had bread, butter, tetley tea, sugar, milk, jam, nescafe & fresh orange. As i said i have no complaints & will return next year for my 3rd vissit to this complex

Review 48:Shower room a little small. Better quality beds would have made it perfect.

Review 49:Lovely, friendly owners and staff team. Pool area wonderful, including great snack bar. Loved our little ground floor apartment with it's own sun terrace. Also loved the convenient location - just 5 minutes walk to Bugibba Square, but set back off busy main road. Would definitely stay here again when returning to Malta.

Review 50:while walking along the seafront people trying to get you to go to another hotel trying to drum up business just pick up a brochure and you'll get 30 euro's sounds like a con, and the buses no queues just a free for all

Review 51:The staff of sunseekers were just great, haven't been for three years and was still remembered. They are always polite have time to talk and answer any questions you may have,

Review 52:One particular member of staff who wanted to watch football all evening and didn't like getting disturbed. One evening we returned to the bar at Midnight, very quietly ordered drinks. It was obvious he didn't want to serve us. He told us to keep quiet and proceeded to turn the lights off in the bar and air conditioning off. At no point did we disturb any other guests. He was rude and very unprofessional. The lifts are dangerous if you get into the lift and dont press a floor button within about 10-15 seconds the lights go out Panic!!! In the complete darkness you cant see any buttons illuminated. Panic. I banged heavily on the door until the duty manager opened the door. Apparently if you dont operate a floor button within a certain time the lifts thinks nobody has entered and turns off the lights and door closes.Very frightening scary and potentially heart attack time. There were also a big family of kids on the last few days of our hoilday who went straight from the rooftop pool to the lifts soaking wet and wet the floor Very Dangerous on tiled floors

Review 53:Generally everything except comments

Review 54:the air conditioning made a lot of noise (think it was broken) + ants in the room (although everything else was clean), expensive mini market of the hotel (better to go to the trolees supermarket 2 streets away)

Review 55:location, hygiene, swimming pool and bar, friendly people, nice view from our room, quiet during the night

Review 56:People moaning about children having fun in the pool!!! Go to an adults only complex then it's the summer & we are on holiday, lighten up abit.

Review 57:Our third year at the Sunseeker complex & another excellent holiday. Great apartments & pool complex, wonderful staff & clean apartment. Will be booking for next year.

Review 58:Gym definitely needs air con. Ventilators are not enough during summer.

Review 59:Excellent location, near the sea and central bus station. Rooms are clean, staff VERY polite and helpful. Hotel is fully adapted for disabled people.

Review 60:I did not like the fact that Wi Fi and TV was not included.

Review 61:Location and the roof top pool provided an excellent view.

Review 62:During 7 days the apartment was cleaned 1 time.

Review 63:Everything was very good, we are satisfied.

Review 64:Sunbeds need renewal

Review 65:Upgrade at no extra cost to accommodate our request for sea view

Review 66:Staff were excellent, very helpful. Rooms were very basic could do with a refurbish.

Review 67:Noisy guests slamming doors and being loud at 02:00.

Review 68:Use of all facilities after checking out on last day including shower facilies. Excellent.

Review 69:Some cleanliness issues in shower toilet. Hot water boiler above your head when sat on loo. Cats everywhere!

Review 70:Location. Rooftop pool

Review 71:no windows in kitchen.

Review 72:fair prices, separeted costs for the services on demand like tv, wi-fi, breakfast etc.

Review 73:I like all of it ,even the self catering ,you could eat out or eat in, take away are very good and in plenty

Review 74:Good location,spacious rooms,friendly and helpful staff.Plenty of facilities.

Review 75:Three ladies, having our own room each was great.

Review 76:I feel that we shouldn't have to pay for the tv.

Review 77:I liked the swimming pool, mini market, facilities and friendly staff.

Review 78:You have to pay extras for TV remotes, Wifi and safety deposit box.

Review 79:The apartment was very large and spotlessly clean

Review 80:Great location. Great rooftop pool and indoor pool for windy days. Friendly staff. Supermarket, in the basement, with reasonable prices.

Review 81:lack of sunlight

Review 82:Area

Review 83:Can't say I had any problems, but having to pay for tv and w.fi was a surprise.

Review 84:Friendly staff , clean and tidy large rooms . Good prices

Review 85:The useful kitchen supplies The view The customer service The mini market Great location

Review 86:WIFI for additional costs

Review 87:Everything was very good, I recomend to stay there people with families.

Review 88:There was. No negative points

Review 89:Everything was perfect for us

Review 90:No room service

Review 91:Locality to the square, facilities were great

Review 92:Have to pay for, gym, tv and Wifi. The Wifi system you have to log on/out and pay for the time you use.

Review 93:Free sunbeds and pool. Helpful staff

Review 94:one thing internet was rubbish in our room but we 'got by kk

Review 95:we enjoyed being in the buggiba town centre everything was at hand very good an the accommodation was good an staff top of the list very helpful will go back there again thanking all staff

Review 96:It's quite basic (fair enough for the money) so do expect that! However the beds were very hard and could prob do with new mattresses!

Review 97:This was very clean and just around the corner from bugibba square.

Review 98:We had a nice apartment, quiet with great view from balcony. Roof top pool and relaxing area made the most of the space and Julia at the snack bar really friendly. Food essentials on arrival was a nice touch. Shop in house convenient. Very clean, good shower etc. Neville and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Didn't use Gym, sauna, jacuzzi so can't comment. Great holiday.

Review 99:All staff very courteous and helpful! It had heated indoor pool plus baby pool which I took my 3 month old granddaughter swimming in! All facilities were very good including mini market gym and bar! Also roof top pool with snack bar!

Review 100:- bathroom was increadibly small that we couldn't get into shower - hidden fees, f.ex. (per day): portable fan - 1,25 euro, extra heater - 1,25e, gymnasium - 3,5e, extra towel change - 4,5e, towel + linen change - 9e; - room cleaned once per week, - there was a TV, but we couldn't find a remote - of course it was paid 2,5e per day in the reception - when we went to our room we saw a welcome set, which consisted of milk, butter, sugar, tea, coffee etc., but suprisingly it turned out we'd have paid for it if we didn't give it back to the reception - lack of chandelier, only bed lamps

Review 101:prawie nic (almost nothing) + comfortable beds + rather fully-equipped kitchen

Review 102:Not so clean. The bathroom is kind of dark and crowded, dirty and very cheap. Only one European continental wall socket.

Review 103:The apartment is big. The kitchen has everything you need. It is close to the city center and the sea.

Review 104:only stayed for four nights but would return again without hesitation, Our room and the hotel in general was spotless and when you arrive at your room the staff put a small parcel of food/drink together that you can use and pay for or return. Owners/Staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you to make sure you enjoy your visit, we spoke to other couples in the bar who told us they return every year some for up to 6 weeks at a time and we could understand why. Excellent !!!!!!!

Review 105:no free wifi

Review 106:ideal location for everything in bugibba staff excellant could not do enough for you rooms and facilities above standard and would not hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone

Review 107:The indoor pool was cold. Wifi and tv have extra fees whereas these should be included in the room price. Cleaning room are not made daily.

Review 108:The hôtel is well connected. The room is spacious and clean. People of the hotel are helpful and nice. We had 2 balcony. The terrasse on the top is amazing

Review 109:Rooms were cold , heating not very good , but next time we wlll be coming in the summer !!

Review 110:We really enjoyed our chats with Simon on the bar and met some really nice people. Next time we come we will have a one bedroomed flat so that we have more room.

Review 111:Family run hotel, staff exceedingly kind and helpful. Studio apartment had dishes etc for 3 people, which was very convenient as my son and daughter in law joined me for dinners. Centrally located in Bugibba. EXCELLENT value for money,

Review 112:Noise from above apartment resonating through the floor, bit dated

Review 113:Non Corporate Environment, Personable Service, Relaxed Atmosphere around the place, Good value for money and Clean.

Review 114:I failed to work out how to put the oven on.

Review 115:The staff were amazing, very friendly and could not have been more helpful. I was on crutches for the duration of my holiday and they were so accommodating, all my requests were granted. a ground floor apartment, chair in the shower and bath mat to prevent slipping. I enjoyed a large courtyard which was a true luxury in my reduced mobility. The apartment was clean, comfortable and suited my families needs. The feeling when i walked into the hotel was welcoming and like i had been there before, the staff helped me with every aspect of my stay, laundry, bringing drinks for me in the hotel, even carrying shopping for me from the mini mart. This was my first time in Malta and i would return to this hotel. The cooked breakfast was enjoyed by my older teenage son. It is basic and clean, if you are coming here expecting the Savoy, don't come. I met many long term guests who return year upon year and that is the marker of how relaxed it is.

Review 116:We have just had a week at the sunseeker, it was a really nice hotel. Family run with excellent rooftop swimming pool. Good location to the many bars & restaurants of bugibba.

Review 117:Balcony was on the small side, but most balconies are large (I guess it's luck of the draw),but this was not a real negative, plenty of room for a cuppa and to hang the washing out!

Review 118:We stayed at The Sunseeker the last 2 weeks of April, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! The Hotel is situated perfectly for the shops bars restaurants and the main bus station, set in a quiet cul-de-sac,there is no noise from through traffic, although early morning deliveries and the bin men make a bit of noise, but this didn't really bother us too much. The hotel is family run,and we were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. Although we were early on arrival, they stored our cases and we had a nice drink in the bar whilst the room was being prepared. Good spacious room, with large bathroom, and very well equiped kitchen We would totally recommend the Sunseeker to anyone. Great Hotel, great people, great resort. Were already planning our return in 2014

Review 119:If I had to find something then a slightly larger balcony would be nice.

Review 120:Everything, good location, just back from promenade but convenient for shops and restaurants. This self catering complex has indoor and outdoor pools a mini market and bar. It is not 5 star luxury but is excellent value for money. It is family run and the staff are outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and someone is available 24 hours.

Review 121:Bugibba is a wee bit shabby but a good base from which to explore the islands. Equipment in apartment / bathroom was pretty basic but at the price it still made excellent value even with rental charge for poor quality tv with little to watch. Our ground floor apartment was noisy. I would go back but would ask for a quieter apartment.

Review 122:Staff were very helpful. Apartment was big, clean and reasonably well kept. Very handy for shops restaurants and bus station which gives easy and very cheap access to the rest of Malta.

Review 123:The room key has to be deposited to the reception whenever leaving the complex, however, the reception was not always attended, leaving the keys unguarded and in full view.

Review 124:It's very good value for money, and the self-catering apartments had everything we needed to have a comfortable week.

Review 125:Understanding it's a self service complex, there were a few drawbacks. We were on the third floor, which provided a very low water pressure which was terrible when it came time for a shower. If you have long hair, expect to spend a long time in the shower rinsing. If you flush the toilet before taking a shower, expect dripping showers for a few minutes. There were issues with the toilet our first day, which eventually led to a broken toilet on day two. We went one night without a toilet, but were able to use the one in the lobby until ours was fixed the following day. Showers need updating. The locks on the doors could be better. There are no dead bolts nor any additional lock, like a chain other than the standard push button lock normally found inside houses for bedrooms. These should not be used for securing outer doors. If you want anything other than a basic room, you will pay for it. Internet is €2 an hour. The hot tub is €5 for 30 min, and the sauna will cost €7 for 30 min, and the small gym is €3.50 per day per person. Breakfast will run you between €3.50 and 5. Since you have an apartment, I would recommend just stocking up at the market. The staff is OK, but not the friendliest we've encountered on our many European adventures. There is a 3% charge when using a credit card, so factor that in too. If you're staying a week, your towels will be changed once. You will go 7 days without a linen changed. This is done on the 7th day. Recommend buying a roll or two of toilet paper. Again, great on budget, but clean and provide enough room.

Review 126:If you want a basic no frills"apart hotel" and room, at a very good price, then this is the place for you. We stayed in this 3 star complex with a very large 3 BR, large bath and fully equipped kitchen that easily accommodated our family of 5. There is easily enough room for seven. Its in a very quiet neighborhood away from the main traffic and main street area bars. The room was clean and had the basic essentials for a week. The apartment was very close to many great restaurants on the waterfront, and near all the shopping to include markets and tourist gift shops. Only a few hundred meters from the main bus station this complex provides you limitless opportunities, to include ferries and boat trips to St Paul's island, and Blue Lagoon. The hotel offers very few extra amenities at no cost. The outdoor pool on the top floor and the indoor pool indoors are free of charge. The roof top pool is nice, very sunny, and a great view of the ocean. Loungers are available at no charge. The complex also comes with its own market which offers the basics, and a bar and breakfast area if you wish to partake. For those renting a car, limited free parking is available. We never had any issues finding parking. With the money saved by using this hotel we rented a car a drove somewhere new everyday, increasing our flexibility on what we wanted to see and not tied to a tourist bus.

Review 127:having to hire out remote control for t.v. only one pillow which was quite lumpy .

Review 128:basic but clean , friendly staff, location to sea, buses etc was great.

Review 129:Cold water in the indoor-pool. The bathroom a bit small, old and dirty..

Review 130:Very friendly staff. The pool was already open for Easter, and it was nice and clean on the roof.

Review 131:The building was noisy, with no soundproofing. The "welcomepack" only had food items, which were non-essential. What wasmissing were essential items like salt and pepper, cooking oil, washingup liquid and paper napkins. The light bulbs were all very low wattage, making it difficult to see. You are required to pay for a remote contolfor the television! No free wifi.

Review 132:It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly, but I will not bereturning.

Review 133:The kitchen dining, shared area was adequate but not relaxing to sit in once the children had gone to bed. The lighting was poor and it was just not comfortable to realx in which was a shame.

Review 134:The bedrooms were lovely and spacious and the lighting was suited to a bedroom setting. the staff were lovely
