Reviews for Hotel Encino

Review 1:The bathroom was in the shower, no towels and no bath mat. Lighty fixture was a lightbulb hanging from the cieling from a single wire. There were no staff that could understand english. The hotel manager, she lied to booking.com when they tried to talk to her.

Review 2:staff somewhat indifferent

Review 3:Watching bird life and iguanas in the canopy over the rio Cuale, which is just across the side street from the hotel, from our balcony and the rooftop pool.

Review 4:Beds are a bit stiff and a little uncomfortable.

Review 5:Loved the location. Enjoyed the roof top pool and restaurant. And the price was right for a solo Canadian traveler

Review 6:Ok place. But probably wouldn't stay for longer.

Review 7:Cheap. Easy to find. Big rooms. One had a balcony. Roof top sunny pool terrace. Drinking water available and coffee in lobby. Value for money. Stayed one night after getting a late flight.

Review 8:claimed they had free parking which implied that they had parking. I rented a car, knowing that the hotel was is a tourist market with virtually no public parking when I arrived and asked where the free parking was they smiled at me and said "anywhere you can find it around the hotel." The car was a huge expense more than the hotel and found the lie to be a slap in the face.

Review 9:close to where I wanted to be.

Review 10:Centrally located in old town Puerto Vallarta and only two blocks from the beach. This hotel also has a nice rooftop pool with outstanding views in every direction. There is also a rooftop restaurant and bar that offers a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset.

Review 11:It was loud from buses and cars. Beds weren't that comfortable. We were unable to get clean towels a couple times. The wifi was hard to get in the rooms.

Review 12:The pool was nice and clean. The location was great!!

Review 13:bit of slow checkin, but fine considering price!

Review 14:Fantastic hotel for the price! Quiet room, nice pool on the roof with View, and very good food bar with view on roof, too! Free wifi and fresh water also!

Review 15:On the booking site they say that they have a parking. This is not true. There is no big issue if you speaking for a place were you can find a parking space, but not for Puerto Vallarta. There are 2 options ... (1) you can park the car at a considerable distance on a very narrow street - having the risk that the car could be damage, or (2) you can park in a station, but then you depend on the schedule of the parking. I choose the location exactly for the parking ... but :( no ... And the staff blamed booking for this !!

Review 16:The location of the hotel is great.

Review 17:The staff refused to give us a second room key. They were rude, and at points, even outright hostile towards us. Bar none, this place was absolutely horrid. The air conditioner was so loud that when it started, the bang was so loud you could not sleep. The claim of Wi-Fi in each room was an outright lie, and we had to stand in the hall close to the courtyard to get a signal

Review 18:I liked absolutely nothing about this hotel, and left after the first night, and was refused a refund entirely

Review 19:Night time Staff, all male, very unfriendly, use Lobby furniture to sleep at night, and turn lights off. 4 sofas, and all had young men sleeping on them. Wouldn't feel comfortable with my Wife going to the Lobby by herself late at night, or early in the morning. Problem is, no Internet in Rooms, so you have to use the Lobby, and every morning it was very uncomfortable using the Internet, with a bunch of guys sleeping, in the dark, next to you...

Review 20:Location is Excellent

Review 21:Had a few issues with room and they were quickly attended to. The place is one that doesn't impress on 1st look but it becomes more appealing as you settle in...It's a great value

Review 22:The tile, the quiet street, the easy walk to river, beach, bars, markets.

Review 23:The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Hard as a rock and with springs, double pain on your back. The shower had no door and the water ran all the way to the toilette. Also we requested a room with wifi, was not given one. When asked to change we had to go into a "cell" like room for the same price and half the size. We stuck to our original room. Would not stay here again.

Review 24:The location was great! Easy to walk around and close to the boardwalk.

Review 25:Bed tooo small for a couple especially when your over 6 ft. Won't stay there again unless an upgrade is available. Terribly noisey can't escape the street noise. Air conditioner noisey and shuts on and off.

Review 26:Close to downtown.

Review 27:The mattress needed an upgrade. I took the basic accommodation and that's what I got. It was like camping but better.

Review 28:It was close to the Malecon, romantic zone and many many shops. The air worked, shower worked and the toilet. It worked for me.

Review 29:my first room was small and cell like. changed to a much nicer corner unit with windows, porch. hot water was sketchy!

Review 30:pool was nice, and rooftop view of the parade were perfect....close to old town and beach.

Review 31:Facilities (at least in my room) could use an overhaul and a lot more upkeep. Cracked and missing tiles, leaky faucet, air conditioner didn't work.

Review 32:Staff friendly and helpful. Location very good. Nice Mexican ambiance and courtyard. Excellent price.

Review 33:They gave us the noisiest room in the hotel. First floor right by the bridge. They were unwilling to change the room even when there were many vacancies in the hotel. Air conditioner was malfunctioning and deafening.

Review 34:Location, rooftop pool and restaurant, morning coffee.

Review 35:Windows to the atrium do not provide security. But they needed to be open for a good breeze. Also, it's popular with large families, at least when we were there. No hangers in the closet.

Review 36:Close to everything we like. $67 / night can't be beat.

Review 37:Elevator was broken. The front desk guy Fernando lied to us. He practically kicked us out. We paid for 2 nights and after one day told him we were staying longer but he booked our room anyway. We had to leave the hotel with no place to go...

Review 38:Location is excellent. The restaurant is nice, my Latte was superb!

Review 39:Not great customer service

Review 51:Everything was dirty old

Review 52:Parking in neighborhood was difficult during the day, but easy at night

Review 54:Place us under the bar and next to the pool pump.

Review 75:Central location, good value, basic but adequate room.

Review 76:Can not complain for price pay.

Review 77:Always stay at Encino Hotel. Great location, nice roof top pool. great views.

Review 78:No remote control available when i arrived, i had to go to the first floor to have wifi signal

Review 79:Location, price

Review 80:Bedbugs!! Chinches!! Do not stay here! They were terrible! They offeredus another room and it had bedbugs too! The guy at the front deskdidn't seem to think it was a problem and wouldn't give us arefund! Disgusting and gross!!

Review 81:It's noisy unless you pick a room on the street side, . The roomsfacing the river are the best but they also are too near a busy streetwith buses running constantly. There are always a few things amiss inMexico, like a handle missing on the dresser etc. but nothing major.

Review 82:The staff are very nice and it is truly Mexico, not those Americanhotels with all Americans. This place has a variety of people, the poolis small but adaquit. The location is great. The little restaurantupstairs is charming. The maids keep your room clean. One definetlyfeels safe. I like this hotel a lot

Review 83:It was not disclosed that my card would be charged for the full amount of the stay at check in. I was not permitted to pay cash at departure. Pool not heated; I did not get to swim.

Review 84:Traditional older hotel in prime location. Wonderful views from rooftop pool/restaurant.

Review 85:Our room was quite noisy at night due to the traffic on the cobbled streets. Bring earplugs!

Review 86:Loved the location close to the Rio Cuale and the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Secure safe for passports etc. free of charge. Nice rooftop pool with great views.

Review 87:We will return
