Review 1：Kitchen is too small for all the guests if there is bad weather. Wifi only works at the reception.

Review 9：Just a niggle, really. The layout in the kitchen made it awkward if there was a bit of a crowd. Hot water, toasters, and sinks at the end of a dead-end don't make for a good flow around the facilities.

Review 13：I pre-booked on the website before I travelled to Dunedin. I requested a twin room but found out upon arrival that a twin room was not available for our first night. My dad was offered a double room and I stayed in a dorm room. The next day we moved into a twin room for the remainder of our stay. The booking site should be more specific with the rooms being booked. I thought I had confirmed a twin room.

Review 16：The best back packers I have ever been in, clean, well thought out with little noise/disturbance. I have stayed in several types of their rooms, their "deluxe" is the equivalent of a small CLEAN hotel room. This will definitely be my first choice to stay in Dunedin again

Review 23：Only one SMALL heater to heat up a room for 8 people on hourly base. Whoever couldn't stand the coldness would have to get out of bed to press the button for another hour. Also, no heating in the bathroom at all

Review 37：The wifi did not work, in fact the wifi wasn't even in range when I was in my room. The bed was a little uncomfortable and sqeaked loudly every time I moved and--though this isn't the hotel's fault-- somebody started play drum and bass music at midnight!
Review 38：The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the toilets and showers were okay and the location was perfect. It was right next to the octagon however the structure of the building was built so you couldn't really hear the traffic and you got a rather nice veiw.
Review 39：WiFi - We were given free data on check in but THERE WAS NO WIFI RECEPTION. This was a royal pain in the neck..........so thanks for the DVD'S so were not left twiddling our thumbs while the young ones partied on the deck!!

Review 50：We booked a private double room. The room was big enough for the bed which was very comfy but it was not much space left for luggage. The room had an ensuit bathroom which was big and very clean. We were entering our room from a very nice terrace. We booked during the weekend so we could park free of charge in a parkinglot to the left of the building. We had dinner outside our room had a table and acouple of chairs on the terrace there, the perfect solution actually since the kitchen was packed.
Review 51：breakfast was included at the backpackers, but difficult to know which was the communal supplies eg cereals and tea/coffee and milk. Would be helpful to have this labelled as communal or distinguishable in some way from other peoples cereals and beverages.

Review 57：There wasn't anything I didn't like. I had the wrong room key attached to the correct room number key ring, but that was sorted very quickly, so not a problem.
Review 58：Our room (double with en-suite) surpassed expectations and was like a that in a motel - clean, tidy and modernised. We didn't use the large pool room downstairs as we were pressed for time, but I really liked that whole area for a casual drink and a game of pool.

Review 64：Everything is clean, it's cheap and staff was really friendly! Laundry is open 24hrs...located above a pool billard bar, but still quiet! Kitchen was really clean as well!
Review 65：Generally, there is no dislike but as suggestion for improvement individual storage cabinets, chest or shelves would be good. The deck beds should have a lower rung to step on when climbing on or off the upper deck instead of having to step on the mattress of the lower bed. The floor of the toilets and vanity area gets wet, through condensation, when groups of people shower at the same time.
Review 66：I love most of the guests I met there, youngest is 22 and oldest is 32 years old. I am 54 years old. The kitchen is the place where most of the conversation and experiences are shared including food and cuisines (Asians, European and Americas). The sun deck is another location for mingling especially the "kiwis" and others who loves the sun. Rooms, toilets and showers are clean and functional. The deck beds are comfortable with full head clearance for both upper and lower beds. Bianca, at the reception is joyful, helpful and delightful. Owner is able to provide "work for accommodation" to the younger travellers, a proficient strategy.
