Reviews for Las Brisas Ixtapa
Review 1:Long, slow check in and check out. Spent our afternoons trying to get things fixed--ie; internet never worked in room, maid had not cleaned room by 5 p.m. even though we were out all day, staff was untrained and could not answer simple questions. Had tried to do express check out only to learn that it does not work. Manager was very unhelpful. Food at Brisas II was not good, and basically inedible for 2/4 of us. The hotel seems tired.
Review 2:The location and beach are fantastic. The beach service staff is good. Food at pool restaurant was good.
Review 3:The balconies are in full sun and get to be over 100 degrees I asked for an umbrella but never got one or a reply to my request.. Only Penthouses have umbrellas... Carifesta nite show was cancelled at last minute for some reason so only some musicians instead.. Not a property for walking impaired as lots of steps especially to go down for breakfast... about 30 stairs and no elevator... Saw many elderly people struggling up and down those stairs each morning and its the only location for breakfast....
Review 4:Jungle location with lots of wild life Private Beach Nice pools
Review 5:This resort is best for Mexican families, not at ALL a couples resort. I would return with kids, but not as a couple. Very few activities that interested us, air conditioning was not enough to cool us in the room nor in the restaurants, many staff members were harried or just rude, ESPECIALLY at the concierge desk, oh my, that was really a shame. Elevators broken, pool tiles falling off; clearly some basic upkeep was also in order...
Review 6:The beach is exquisite, the food was better than some other resorts in the area, beds were very comfortable, very clean rooms, interesting architecture, isolated and safe but a quick taxi to anything else you might want, some staff were wonderful.
Review 7:Better deli food maybe.
Review 8:Nothing could be lovelier than sitting in the lobby bar, feeling the breeze, looking out over that gorgeous cove. We spent hours in the soft Pacific rolling waves.
Review 9:long walks to elevator and a lot of stairs. We got used to that. Long way to walk to pool, but we got used to that as well. Mattress was hard, but they tried to accomodate that with a feather bed cover.
Review 10:Loved the location with balconies, loved that the air conditioning in rooms worked well, the staff was amazingly friendly and professional.
Review 11:Mattress was a little hard for my tastes --- but that is a personal preference. Hallways could use a few plants or something to absorb the sounds.
Review 12:great hotel. Had a great time. Took my wife's family here for the weekend. Everyone LOVED this place. You cannot go wrong staying here. Great views, GREAT staff-- lots of steps
Review 13:The value for money in the food is not the best it's very expensive and the food isn't great, great food is worth it but in this case food quality and food price wasn't right
Review 14:The beach is awesome and the hole resort is beautiful
Review 15:We were in Ixtapa for a family wedding, and while most of the guests stayed up the road at a lovely and much more expensive property, we chose to stay at Las Brisas - and we are so happy that we did! The staff was lovely, warm, and welcoming and our room was sensational (we ended up upgrading to a 1-bedroom suite) - in every way this property was superior to the more expensive one up the road and it was a better value to boot! We will definitely return to Las Brisas!
Review 16:The extra charges they don't tell you about. 75 pesos for visiting the lounge bar. 45 pesos for the smallest coronas ever. Not impressed with the nickel and dime experience.
Review 17:The view, the private beach.
Review 18:Elevators weren't working well and 2 of the 4 elevators weren't working at all. The corridors were dark and run down. A face lift is needed.
Review 19:The staff were helpful and polite and spoke English. The location is outstanding and every room has an ocean view.
Review 20:Too many stairs owing to mountain location but not proper handrails by North American standards. No elevators to restaurants three floors down.
Review 21:Rooms were very comfortable
Review 22:The food was terrible. If you want to have stomach problem every day than you should go to Las Brisas. And make sure that you give tips for waiters in advance otherwise you will get rolled eyes and bad service.
Review 23:The only thing that is good about this resort is view.
Review 24:at the check-out they charge me more for the last night, they never told me that the rate of that day was higher so you better check before you do you check-in, also if you get the breakfast included they charge you the tips so don't tip extra unless you want to
Review 25:i stayed there for 5 days, i loved the bed qnd the room with the hammock, also had a great view to the ocean but most of all the private beach and the view from the pool.
Review 26:The food could have been more interesting. If they set up a buffet outside on some special evening, check the steam table to see what they're offering before you commit.
Review 27:What I liked best were the aesthetics of the place. Also, one feels that everyone is happy to see you and will miss you when you're gone (not in an overbearing way, just that they're all solicitous and charming and helpful).
Review 28:This is the fourth time we have stayed here and are never disappointed. It is apparent management has changed as food is not up to former standards however. Definitely need electrical upgrades. Air conditioning not working well.
Review 29:Being with family in quiet place.
Review 30:The food was not very good. Too many additives in food will cause a reaction in sensitive people. Beds are hard as a rock.
Review 31:The view, private balcony and beach.
Review 32:Bed was a little harder than I'm used to.if you're looking for lots of action and organized activities. its not that.
Review 33:Every suite has an ocean view. The beach was perfect.the sand was soft and white sand and the swimming was good possibly the nicest beach in I tapa. The :food was good.upscale all the way.
Review 34:The occupation was high and the wait list for breakfast was a mass. So I looked for the manager and the next days it was better. Matter of organization with better trained personnel.
Review 35:Water dripping from the ceiling over the bed after rain storm - and we were not the only room with this problem. Christmas eve dinner was overpriced and ill organized. Room was cleaned at 6.30 pm.
Review 36:View from the rooms. The lay-out and the furnishing of the rooms. The private beach. The Friendly staff. The free Valet Parking
Review 37:We were first booked into a room 1601 at the far end of the corridor but Jesus, our luggage carrier, assisted us in changing to a closer room. He was so helpful the whole time. Also, because of the time we visited most of the restaurants weren't opened, seasonal.
Review 38:We enjoyed the pool area and the courtesy pool staff, very willing to accommodated.
Review 39:There is an elevator to the beach but then a final set of stairs. The pools have a shuttle from the lobby as they are a long way away. Not really a resort for a person with a mobility issue. The resort is situated where transportation is always needed to go either to Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo. 4 restaurants but the casual restaurants close at 6 pm and the more expensive one/ones open after 6. No where to buy snacks. Also the resort seems empty-not many people there.
Review 40:This is a lovely resort with many amenities, 4 restaurants and pleasant staff. The room is large with a hammock on the deck and all overlook a private beach. The pools are beautiful and the beach sand is soft under your feet. Would recommend this resort for couples or groups of adults. The resort is spread out and has a lovely walk through the resort to the pools. Food in the Italian restaurant was excellent. There is a charge for Wi-Fi.
Review 41:Only negative was there was construction in the lobby and it started at about 9 AM but I didn't bother us at all.
Review 42:Staff was friendly, the facilities were beautiful, and the piña colada's on the beach were delicious.
Review 43:Food in general, was mediocre. Meats were overcooked and dry in all other restaurants on site. Smoked salmon was very poor quality. Most staff were cordial, but distant.
Review 44:One of the most beautiful pools we've ever experienced. The food in the Italian restaurant was sublime. Service in all restaurants was phenomenal. Especially wonderful staff in the pool restaurant, very personable and warm.
Review 45:the illumination by night at the pool, the lifts not working after 6pm (beach)
Review 46:the beach is amazing, clean and private
Review 47:The wifi is only un lobby bar
Review 48:The location
Review 49:Beautiful view. Great beach. Very friendly staff. Fantastic deal
Review 50:Love the beach, the room and sunsets!
Review 51:THE BEACH AND POOL ARE VERY FAR AWAY AND THE ELEVATOR TO THE BEACH DIDN´T WORK FOR THE TWO DAYS I STAYED AT THE HOTEL
Review 52:Food and restaurants way too expensive. Location is isolated so guest is captive consumer unless you take taxi to town
Review 53:Nice beach
Review 54:Needs refurbishment ASAP
Review 55:Great value for money
Review 56:La vista al mar y la playa!
Review 57:The unique location and the non commercialized area was very appealing. And the staff very attentive.
Review 58:primary issue was internet access, slow and spotty
Review 59:friendly staff, very clean, modern amenities, easy access to beach
Review 60:Some of the stairs and walking to the pool but not a problem.
Review 61:The room was great with fantastic sunsets.
Review 62:Spotty WiFi and maybe 3 to 4 English language channels on TV.
Review 63:Quite, nice pool area, private beach, decent food. Amazing view!
Review 64:TV channel options poor
Review 65:Nice beach and swimming pools
Review 66:Weather perfect. Beach private & safe.
Review 67:Directions, Map and address is not there. Spend 2 hours seeking
Review 68:Property needs renovation in rooms,lobby,restaurants-everywhere.expensive and not worth it.the beach is fabulous.
Review 69:Location and staff
Review 70:As all Mexico hotels the staff are constantly on the hunt for tips. It can be annoying.
Review 71:The hotel, grounds and rooms are first rate.
Review 72:Reception took too much time.
Review 73:Beach, stunning architecture, staff, sunsets and happy hour.
Review 74:For this price is easier to find better places!!!!
Review 75:Love the secluded beach. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot. The rooms are big and confortable with great views.
Review 76:No air condition in the room We have to go to another Hotel
Review 77:The hours of operation for the restaurants that was stated in the written "info. for the hotel" weren't the correct times. You never could tell when anything was actually going to open. The staff didn't seem to care about guest problems.
Review 78:The private beach The room's were nice- you can't beat the view! The grounds were kept clean
Review 79:Elevators were always slow or out of service. Don't love the breakfast options so we always eat that meal offsite. Didn't like that they charged my credit card twice for the stay and I had to spend time on the phone and email proving their error.
Review 80:Love the private beach. Lunch in the beach was great.
Review 81:Did not care so much for the Mexican restaurant!
Review 82:We enjoyed the seamless blend of luxury with Nature, the view, serenity,Privet beach, hospitality and the professional service.
Review 83:What we didnt like was the hallway near our room. There were all thesewindows that allowed you to see to the lobby/reception down belowwhich allowed you hear everything. It sounded like were staying in anauditorium. Especially when the piano guy started playing everythingechoed. Then when the bar closed at night everybody would stand aroundat around 11pm chatting and such and it was just so loud. I think thesewindow things are just on the 19th floor. So avoid staying on thisfloor if possible. Also, if you're doing the all inclusive (whichwe didn't) the breakfast isn't really worth the $20 us dollars. And lastly, the "extra charges" for charity on your bill wefound to be rude. I am all for donating to charity, but not when it isforced upon me. As a business owner I think that is bad form. Icouldn't imagine just adding some extra cost to a charity of mychoice on my clients invoices. Especially without asking them! They(the hotel) don't add much and they will take it off if requestedbut still... Some people probably don't notice the charge. Theyreally should ask you.
Review 84:We really liked the view from the room and the beach.
Review 85:When I arrived to the room it smell really bad, I asked the bellboyabout the smell, he opened the window terrace and told me it was just aproblem of humidity, minutes later had to called front desk because thesmell was getting worst, but the phone from the room didn't work, sothey send a 2 persons to check the phone and the smell, for the smellthey only sprayed some deodorant and they changed the phone for a newone. We went out for dinner and by the time we were back it wasimpossible to be inside the room the smell was twenty times worst thanwhen we arrived to the room, around 1:00am they decided to change us toanother room. I don't know why they didn't do that since thebigining. This was supposed to be a relax and enjoyable trip and wecouldn't to that. Hope you can check that with the hotel.
Review 86:The view is excellent, the beach and the location are great
Review 87:Not accessible to public transportation; need to take a cab; very slow check in (seemed they were having trouble locating my budget price room!), shower did not get hot.
Review 88:Beautiful room and setting; great service, very good breakfast.
Review 89:Service is poor in all areas. The food is terrible, not even breakfast is good. The pool is far aways from the beach, and it is supposed to have a view of the ocean, but plants have grown, and you have an eclosed feeling in the pool. The beach is dangerous for small children, because of big waves and undertows.
Review 90:The design of this hotel is fantastic, unfortunately it has not been modernized to today´s standarts. All rooms have sea view with a great terrace.
Review 91:Found out when checking out that there were unanticipated charges suchas for coffee for the in room coffee maker.
Review 92:Location, beautiful private beach. Good value and nice property.
Review 93:I found the restaurants uninspiring ( tired looking ) and rather $$for what they offered. I was not impressed with the one single bar/lounge area.
Review 94:The rooms and the setting
Review 95:I think the gym could expand to be more than exercise bikes andtreadmills and one piece of workout equipment. Free wieghts woulkd be myrecommendation
Review 96:Everything was perfect.

Review 98:Food was not good!
Review 99:Availability of restaurants.
Review 100:The beach was like private.
Review 101:Everything... Our stay was fantastic!!
Review 102:The new pool chairs were uncomfortable.
Review 103:The view, the bar & the staff.
Review 104:Disorganized. Big hotel a bit inpersonal.
Review 105:Location. Beautiful scenery. Excellent views. Great restaurants
Review 106:Require maintenance in elevetarors and pool
Review 107:Facilities are great in term of spaces and distribution
Review 108:Didn't like being charged $17 for 1 night's coffee & water.
Review 109:God's creation is truly beautiful! Food good, pampered in most ways.
Review 110:the pool
Review 111:beach
Review 112:The setting, mountain, jungle setting. room views.
