Plubpla Koh Mak Retreat is located on the secluded island of Koh Mak, an hour's speedboat ride from Krommaluang Chumporn Pier. It is a 30-minute drive from Trat Airport to Krommaluang Chumporn Pier.

Review 5：The beach and the see is really stony, makes no fun to swim, only in the swimming pool. The bungalows are ok, but a lot of insects are there. A lot of big lizards sleep with us in our room . And it was really noise at night, like you sleep direct in the djungle. And the doors of the bungalow do not close completly, so it was not possible to let all insekts outside. We slept very bad because of the noise.

Review 9：The beach is short and rocky. You can easily swim in the sea only on the evening that the tide is higher and don't have to walk far. But there's a nice beachfront pool anyway.
Review 10：I went there in Low season (end of August). I experienced this place as a very quiet and neat resort. The accommodation was in great condition and design. Staff are willing to help. It's worth our relaxing time to be there.
Review 11：The views are nice but you can't swim in the beach. It's full of rocks and the sea leavel is really low. You really can't swim at all. The beach looks more like a cliff than a beach, and they don't show it in the photos, so when you get there you get really disapointed. You can take a taxi though to White Sand Beach and spend the day there for just 200 bahts round way. The English spoken by the staff is not fluent at all.

Review 19：We had the beach front villa which had the most spectacular view of the sea. We watched and counted many species of bird coming in to feed. Although some parts of the beach are rocky you can still find enough open areas to swim. The jacuzzi wasn't working when we arrived but the staff quickly sent someone to fix the problem. Although this wasn't hot water it was very refreshing and a nice addition to the villa. Location is excellent for getting away from it all, would really recommend this resort for pure peace and quite.

Although it is away from the main sandy beaches we liked this because it felt like an adventure every time we went out. Lovely open spaces for the children to explore and plenty of rocks to climb over. Very relaxing stay, would certainly recommend.
Review 24：The room rate for seaside villa is expensive than seaview villa 1800 Baht and really over priced. The villas are all same size of around 30 sq m. With an outside SPA bath tub nobody telling you how to use it. Booking.com said it was 65 sq m is actually cheating consumers. The private beach is only a rocky beach not swimmable. Water pressure not strong enough. Very remote from sandy beaches.

Review 40：One of the most peaceful and serene places I have ever stayed. A few other reviews mention the location isn't ideal, but I completely disagree. It is a little removed from the other resorts, but that only adds to its charm. The island is stunning, and moving around couldn't be any easier.
Review 41：Plub Pla is a great resort. We loved everything about it. The food, the drinks, the pool, the beach, the villas... We had already been at 4 different hotels and resorts at Koh Chang and Koh Kood when we reached Koh Mak - and Plub Pla was by far the best. Even though our villa was on the third row, we had great view of the sea. And the garden and trees around were amazingly green and beautiful. The staff was also great. When we left the resort the owner himself fixed us a taxi to Bangkok, and even called us when we arrived in Bangkok to check that everything was ok. The resort is located a bit away from the "centre" of Koh Mak, but everything is very easily accessed by taxi or a scooter. The island is very small. We will recommend this place to everyone going to Koh Mak.

Review 46：Only down side (which is also an up side) is the distance from the "town". It's easily solved by renting a scooter and driving it around the island. It's also quite possible to spent the entire holiday without leaving the resort.

The staff is extremely helpful, including making us dinner after the kitchen was closed and arranging transportation to Bangkok. The resort is very peaceful and beautiful, and as it has a private beach you only share it with the other resort guests.

And it would be more comfortable to receive beach towels next to the pool or beach rather than having to ask for them at the reception desk. The beach at this location is unfortunately not very appealing: it's littered with large and small rocks, and it's quite difficult to find a good entry into the water, especially with children. But the rest of the features and amenities strive well to make up for this lack.
Review 89：The bungalow was nicely appointed and spacious, and the bathroom quite generous and beautiful. The design of the pool is very good, being probably the best on the island. The resort and grounds are immaculate. The food is well-prepared and tasty. The staff was lovely, and particularly attentive with my two small children. We enjoyed an especially escorted drop-off to the pier on our return (three staff), to have sufficient help with the kids!

Review 92：Some of the pool side furniture was broken & i was constantly being bitten by ants while laying on the sun lounger. Don't go to this resort if your looking for a nice beach as it doesn't have one, because it's mainly rocks. We rented out a bike which really needed a service. the lights didn't work & the brakes were nearly non existent. I think all the rooms are over priced but having said that its still a lovely place to stay if your looking for peace & tranquillity.

This resort is so peaceful & tranquil & the staff are very attentive even if some of them don't speak Thai as my wife found out (Some are Cambodian).The restaurant food was very good & of a very high standard. the breakfast was ok & there was free tea, coffee, & Ovaltine all day while lazing around the pool.

Review 105：Really the best of the Island for sure in terms of accommodation, food and personal. The only remark is that beach is not that great BUT there are several beautiful beaches nearby. This made us go out to several which in my opinion was better then having all at 1 place. The swimming pool is really nice and good for children and adults (play and swim). Review 129：The beach is a bit small, large boulders show during low tide. So wespent most time at the pool. However there is a nice sandy beach, verynear. The restaurant staff does not speak much English, some do somedon'T. However we managed with the help of Khun Kwang and the mainwaiter who speaks quite good English.
Review 130：The resort is nicely located, very private and quiet, yet not far fromthe pier where the speedboats land. As we were there in a down-season wealmost had the place to ourselves. The bungalows are spacious and nicelydesigned. During our stay we did a tour around most resorts on theisland, PlubPla is definitely the most modern and contemporary resort onthe island, yet in very tropic environment. The beachfront room we hadis very recommendable.... Great view through the palm trees, the beachonto the sea. The food is of "excellent" quality andvariety.... And fyi ... we are spoiled when it comes to Thai food. Bravoto the chef ! We want to thank Khun Kwang and his team for a wonderfultime, and for taking very good care of us. We will be back.
