Reviews for Hotel Rosita
Review 1:The noise from the street is considerable and the dining room staff were enthusiastic and tried hard but were not well trained. Check in took far longer than necessary.
Review 2:The room was clean but spartan. The owner or manager was very visible and helpful.
Review 3:Because I received a discount I did not have an ocean view but was placed on the street side. My room however had sound proof glass on the window and door overlooking the street!
Review 4:Very quiet and nice gardens around the pool.
Review 5:Restroom needs some tlc. Overall ok.
Review 6:Love being close to old downtown, close to most outdoor activities in puerto vallarta. beach right off the hotel.can't beat the price for an modest, clean hotel.
Review 7:What we liked about Rosita Hotel is the respectful service from all employees. The breakfast buffet is the best. The ocean waters are so close to the hotel. It is just the perfect place to enjoy Puerto Vallarta.
Review 8:If you go into this expecting a Mexican 2 star hotel - well, what youhave as a "room" will be interesting. The noise from the clubsis horrible. It will continue until 3 or 4, so ear plugs might help, maybe. The beds are just nothing as are the pillows (bring you ownpillow). There is free wi-fi and the person hacking into it as you signon isn't that tech savvy. Meaning you can spot it (if you arelooking for it) at sign-in. A private wi-fi app is required or you willbe screwed. Parking is a nightmare. On the street only so if youdon't need a car - don'T.
Review 9:Staff seemed friendly. Drinks are ok.
Review 10:"Free" breakfast was only for the 2 adults (including kids over 11) and included only coffee, fruit, toast & juice or a credit towards the buffet or menu. In any case, kids under 12 were extra. Internet was iffy.
Review 11:Great location, friendly staff, mostly middle-class locals, good value
Review 12:Waited 1 hr for 2 fried eggs over easy and got 2 broken and hard and ice cold eggs with cold bread not toast. We also had trouble ordering drinks for happy order so brought our own the next day and got told we could.
Review 13:The location, people and music in the dinning room
Review 14:Lack of conveniences within the hotel. No hot tub, hair dryer, hand towels, lotion, conditioner, coffee pot in room (& would not provide one upon request) etc.
Review 15:Location was excellent. Staff friendly.
Review 16:Included breakfast way mediocrity, with poor service
Review 17:Old hotel ( first hotel in Puerto Vallarta),well renovated with elevator and modern amenities while retaining old Mexican charm. We had ocean side balcony, Fantastic views of the Bay
Review 18:My family was eaten by bed bugs. Everything we brought and bought could not go back home. We were moved to their other hotel (El Pescador) and again we were eaten by more (a lot more) bed bugs. (They share laundry service). I caught 3 bed bugs, took pictures of them and our bitten feet, hands and legs and the wildly stained, very old, cement-firm mattress. FYI Look up Hotel Rosita Bed Bugs, in a Google search, to see the pictures and details, with bonus bed bug advice, from first-hand experience.
Review 19:Loved the view. Mexico is beautiful. If I were younger, the location would be great; it's across from the casino, lots of bars and partying on the weekends. Relaxing on the balcony, on quiet nights, was always enjoyable.
Review 20:Noisy - our room had a street view so traffic/people noise was constant. Major problem was a bar down the street with constant thump of the base well into the night. Other rooms facing the ocean and in inner part of the hotel were apparently very quiet. Get a room away from the street if possible.
Review 21:Location - north end of Malecon and easy walk to activities and restaurants in Old Vallarta. It is an older hotel but was very clean, rooms basic but adequate. It is possible to get very good rates so is great for the budget conscious. Continental breakfast with the room is just that, a basic continental but can order off the menu or access the buffet for a reduced price instead.
Review 22:Room was dated. Ceiling looked like it had many repairs. Water jug in hallway (?) seemed questionable...
Review 23:Bath and bed room were spacious. Large outdoor area was much larger than a regular balcony. Great view. A/C worked well. Maid service good. Room was quiet and peaceful. Public areas excellent.
Review 24:No bad experiences except when the hotel sent me an e-mail saying my reservation was going to be cancelled! That was very bad.
Review 25:I like the way the staff is always very patient with guests. I love the fact that the staff went to a lot of trouble to find my husband's hat when he lost it!
Review 26:The wait staff in the dining room were slow and disorganized in service but they sort of made up for the inconvenience by their charm.
Review 27:All the staff were lovely and helpful in any way they could be. It was great to have such immediate access to the downtown area. We were lucky enough to be included in a special Thursday evening celebration of PV held at a local plaza too.
Review 28:t he food was not the best. Free breakfast was fine, but other meals were not that great.
Review 29:big room, price, staff were wonderful, location excellent. Would love to stay again.
Review 30:There is limited parking.
Review 31:The hotel has an elevator which is so important for getting luggage to your room. The room fee included a continental breakfast, however for only 29 pesos you can upgrade to an omelette!
Review 32:Servers were not really friendly, as this was the first hotel in pvr the rooms are clean but of that age. The beds i liked, but everyone else did not as they were hard, and they were, very hard.
Review 33:Location, front desk staff and lobby and pool
Review 34:The Continental breakfast was not great and service could have been better.
Review 35:Loved that we could walk along the Malecon. The hotel is close to everything.
Review 36:We had 2 solid days of rain and it was pretty moldy smelling in the safety deposit box area. Also, you have to ask for hand towels and face cloths. Too many guests tend to take them home so by asking for them they know who has them. Also you have to ask for pool towels.
Review 37:I'm not an all inclusive fan and like to embrace the culture I'm experiencing. You will probably find more Mexican speaking tourists than English speaking ones. The food and service is great and if your package includes the continental breakfast its filling enough to start your day..... Or you can get some items for half price instead. You may have to practice your Spanish a bit because many of the staff have very little English. There's plenty of room around the pool too.
Review 38:From the front of the Rosita you can turn right, not have to deal with pesos, Spanish, or the annoyance of being in Mexico, or, you can turn left and actually experience Mexico if you desire.
Review 39:The facility is quite dated and their were very few amenities. For example, no hand towels, wash clothes or hair dryer in the room (just bath towels....and they had to be used for the pool as well).
Review 40:The location of Hotel Rosita, just at the start of the famous Puerto Vallarta Malecon, is absolutely perfect. The ocean views from the room are tremendous. The room was large and the bed very firm (for me that was a good thing)
Review 41:Good proximity to Malecon. Friendly staff, decent food. Overall a safe easy convenient and affordable place to stay
Review 42:Hotel well used and does need a little loving care. A furniture refresh will help.
Review 43:location. Friendly staff.
Review 44:Needs a better restaurant with better service.
Review 45:Fabulous location
Review 46:Food was not good
Review 47:Good location
Review 48:Because the hotel is in the downtown area, it has pool with a beautiful view to the ocean .
Review 49:Food took so long to come and was ice cold when we got it.
Review 50:Staff, view and area were great
Review 51:Friendly staff, great location just at the start of the boardwalk. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 52:Restaurant and bar service very slow even by Mexican standards
Review 53:Location
Review 54:Tired bathroom. Really would appreciate own coffee/tea maker in room.
Review 55:Location, pool and close to beach Ground floor / lobby ambience,
Review 56:Payment options
Review 57:loved the ocean view room nice size balcony room 124.
Review 58:make sure you put people where they paid to stay. Not Pecadoor

Review 61:It was close to everything
Review 62:Beds are hard
Review 63:Location snd staff
Review 64:The non heated swimming pool was way to cold, couldn't even use it!!!

Review 72:food was not terribly good, mostly ate elksewhere
Review 73:staff, historic, great big room, elevator,
Review 74:Location and beach side pool.
Review 75:Room
Review 76:Very old yet well maintained facility. Friendly helpful staff and excellent food. Great value for the money.
Review 77:Hotel was built in 1948. The rooms are still in 1948. Very spartan facilities.
Review 78:Lots of Mexican hotel charm. Very inexpensive
Review 79:Nothing.
Review 80:The location!
Review 81:Always welcoming and friendly. Great value.
Review 82:Nice stay I enjoy the view the gardens and the pool . The malecon is just steps away and I can feel the breeze of the ocean
Review 83:We were lucky to have a corner ocean front room...very spacious and great view. Well maintained, classic hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 84:Breakfast was poor, Bad sound proofing
Review 85:Beds are hard as cenent
Review 86:Helpful friendly staff, reasonable price
Review 87:no in room coffee maker
Review 88:very efficient and helpful, excellant food.
Review 89:Love the view, location, everything
Review 90:the service was horrific, the offers they have is a misleading advertise, the manager has changed a lot of things and made it worse, staff is not very efficient and not very friendly, their continental breakfast is a joke. i honestly believe that they dont want to stay open for business much longer.
Review 91:the location is great
Review 92:Smoking neighbor's fumes from his balcony drifted into our room.
Review 93:Older construction, but charming Mexican design. Located on the beach and Malecon.(boardwalk) Prices were good for oceanfront room. Staff was friendly and accommodating..
Review 94:restaurant/bar staff a little inattentive. A/C good to have, but difficult to maintain constant cool temp for sleeping.
Review 95:location, pool, relative quiet, not many people; acceptable restaurant; nice big room (suite) overlooking pool and ocean., lovely shower Would stay there again - in a suite - other rooms looked small.
Review 96:Room facing the street was rather noisy so if you are needing a good sleep ask for other rooms.all in all a wonderful mexican experience
Review 97:Love staying s t the rosita. E e are repeat customers bbecause of the location.only problem is the rooms at the front facing the street are rather noisy.all in all the rosita is a wonderful experience..
Review 98:The "buffet" breakfasts (included in the room rental price). Two choices per day, re-fried beans being one of them, coffee and man-made orange juice!
Review 99:Location location location! Right on the beach, at one end of Puerto Vallarta Malicon. Staff extremely friendly. I' stay there anytime I'm in PV.
Review 100:Included breakfast was just OK with limited choice and only lukewarm; poor information about rates for future visits
Review 101:great view, great location, friendly staff, nice pool, restauran offered good food and service
Review 102:Room was a bit small and cramped. TV was an old bulky 19" CRT type that must have been made in 1970.
Review 103:Clean. Reasonable priced. Located right downtown. Staff was great. Free breakfast was a plus. For the senior traveler this is a very good choice for a hotel in Puerto Vallarta.
Review 104:Beds were on the hard side.
Review 105:Great location, with a traditional Spanish atmosphere. Nice pool, and friendly, helpful staff. Great value, would recommend and will return.
Review 106:On weekends the area gets too much vehicular And people noise. The streets are like the Las Vegas strip with so many people walking about At night. If our hotel was at the back facing the beach instead of main streets, it would have been more relaxing. Definitely ask for room far close to the beach.
Review 107:It is close to everything....the malecon, stores, Plaza, restaurants, public transportation, marina And airport.
Review 108:The breakfast included was inedible! Absolutely the worst! I would have liked to have seen some yogurt and fruit not just the same hot gruel every day.
Review 109:The open area of the lobby and the pool are great! It is a lovely quiet retreat!
Review 110:Beds are a little hard, but still remarkably comfortable.
Review 111:location was great. our reception was very friendly. Staff was very helpful with bus routes. View was superb.
Review 112:The bed was extremely hard and very uncomfortable. Woke up sore each morning. The noise from the street comes up thru the lobby even though we didn't have a street side room. The service around the pool was poor. Though nice and friendly, the staff were not always really helpful.
Review 113:The location and convenience to shopping and sightseeing. The breakfast each morning and the large public areas were nice. On the weekend there was live entertainment which was Rey good. 2afternoon happy hours was nice and plenty of poolside lounging. Our suite was spacious and very nice with a balcony and full view of the hotel grounds and ocean. The staff was nice and friendly.
Review 114:What I did not like the most was the free breakfast included. I only ate once because most times I could not recognize what was on the hot platters
Review 115:I loved the room I was given (after one change). Ocean and old town views with good size balcony.
Review 116:Some hotel windows are not double pane and the hotel is located in a very noisy night life area. Rooms with lanais facing to the outside streets are particularly difficult for sleep. Elba at the front desk was always very helpful
Review 117:The hotel was very clean, Many of the staff were bi-lingual and it was easy to communicate. The hotel is on the malecon with good shopping and eating places. Maid service was excellent.
Review 118:Only used the pool once because of time, but the outside shower was hard to find. I imagine that many don't find it...Maybe make the signs more prominent and people will be more likely to use it. This is a minor point...There was really nothing that I didn't like.
Review 119:The corner room with ocean view...the overall ambience of a place with some history to it....the friendliness of the staff...
Review 120:The room was facing the street and it was so noisy that we couldn't sleep for several nights. the room did not have a chest of drawers so we could not put our cloths in, it had only were to hang the cloths. The breakfast was the same every morning, only once we had fruit.
Review 121:Staff was very helpful
Review 122:Booked in October for a Christmas stay and expected an oceanfront room instead of the peek-a-boo view I got. Fortunately our friends got the better room (even though they booked later) and we had cocktail up there instead.
Review 123:Liked the covered lobby/breakfast area. Could be outside with a breeze, see the ocean and not be in the sun.
Review 124:As is typical at this time of year, the pool was too cold and the lounge chairs weren't very comfortable. The included breakfast was not to our taste, but we found choices on the a la carte menu.
Review 125:The room we got on the fourth floor was great, with a wonderful west view of the mountains and the bay. We were able to pick up the internet on the balcony, which was convenient. The main lobby was spacious and inviting, with good service from the bar.
Review 126:We like the fact that it is not all foreigners staying there - a mix of everyone. It was sometimes a little difficult negotiating in English with front desk but a busboy or someone was always around to interpret and help us out.
Review 127:We like the Rosita: the spacious lounge/lobby, the pool by the water, at the start of the Malacon, down the hill from Barcelona, a walk into the market area along the water. We stayed here over 10 years ago and it was lovely to be back.
Review 128:Hotel non smoking but rooms smelled of smoke, and staff aware of smoking. Our third room there did not smell but sliding door didn't lock, front door had no chain. Air conditioner off or on, no thermostat. We were in a Suite !
Review 129:Our only concern was the beds are a little too hard.
Review 130:Wonderful quaint hotel, the staff very friendly & accomodating. The complementary breakfasts were a plus & very good. This hotel will be our go-to place for sure and we definately recommend the Rosita to others! Muchas Gracias and we will see you all next year!!
Review 131:Included breakfast was scrambled eggs, re-fried beans and orange juice. -no other options.
Review 132:poolside and architecture was great. Good choice of menu meals. Room was changed on request when we initially found out the balcony door did not lock.
The Fine Print
