Reviews for Spring Creek Holiday Park

Review 1:The car parking was ridiculous as you had to walk a distance to and from vehicle. The pool was very dirty with bugs and other foreign objects. There was NO seating outside kitchens as well as no bbq area at a holiday park. Rooms smelt like dirty feet.

Review 2:The cleaners were very nice.

Review 3:My dog sleeping in the car, which was parked some distance away from the room. The light shade in the hall, fell to the floor and theplastic melted on the bulb.

Review 4:The hosts seemed polite and helpful.

Review 5:Hearing the guy in the next room snoring - through a brick wall even!

Review 6:Perfect for us, off the ferry after midnight and thirty minutes later we were tucked up in a bed. Budget accommodation that was perfect as we only needed to lay down our heads.

Review 7:Arrived at this location with our pets, and they were not to happy. We had booked pet-friendly through booking.com and added comments/questions about the dogs. They never replied so we thought this was okay. Turned out they were not so pet friendly and the dogs had to stay in the car for the night. Accommodation has no private space to sit outside, shower and interior made for midgets.

Review 8:Staff were friendly, flexible, helpful. Cabins were very basic (no cutlery, bedding, plumbing) but were comfortable, warm, dry, quiet despite being alongside a major road. We purchased a 6 pin multi-plug to charge mobile phones, boil water, keep frig running, run heater and operate lap-top...without that small extra, the sole twinplug would have proved a pain. It all worked very well for us

Review 9:double Bed very uncomfortable for 2 adults.....i swapped with one of the children. Only two power outlets. notice advised to wash own dishes but the only basin was tiny hand washing one unless we went to a central kitchen which was not suitable for us.

Review 10:Informed of near by eater & four square. informed of eels to feed......kids very excited about that.

Review 11:A total lack of any cooking utensils in the kitchen/dining area. The cost of accommodation was no cheaper than other hostels that we stayed in yet the other places had fully equipped kitchens and boiling water. We arrived at night and in rain and it was not well lit.

Review 12:Clean accommodation; adequate bedding.

Review 13:It was freezing. They had a tiny heater for this room. We all had to sleep together for warmth. The bathroom although clean and a very unpleasant smell.

Review 14:It was conveniently located

Review 15:Rooms were unclean, uninviting, beds were old and with sunken mattresses. No ladders on bunks, no bin in the room. Cobwebs under the bed. Very uncared for and appeared as if no care taken to provide any comfort for guests. Lots of signs everywhere saying don't do this or that. Generally uncared for accomodation which I will not be returning to and will not recommend to others. I paid a similar price per night at a backpackers in Picton recently with ensuite bathroom, linen, kitchen facilities and lounge with games etc...breakfast was also included there. So not impressed at all.

Review 16:We did notice our bunk room floor needed a good scrub, rather than maybe just a wipe over.

Review 17:That we managed to get accomodation, pleasant location. stream with eels and ducks lovely.

Review 18:Odd that we had to provide bedding for one of our 5 and only 2 towels provided. For the cost of the room and basic facilities therein we should expect all beds to have bedding and at least 4 towels between the 5 of us. Only 2 power plugs, one of which was used for the fridge, not enough for the other appliances plus our phone charger. Two of the light bulbs not working.

Review 19:Location was great for our needs.

Review 20:Having to put coins in the shower then having it go ice-cold without warning. Several spiders in our bunk room. Having a timer on the single power outlet in the room. Wasn't particularly cheap considering how basic it is.

Review 21:Good place to just get a few hours sleep and an early start after coming off the ferry.

Review 22:Really appreciated the honesty of the owners who told us our booking was incorrect - this saved us over $100 and we would have been none the wiser. Great facilities and place to stay

Review 23:EFTPos not working. Badly added on bathroom, no soap and none for sale at office. Website was not clear about this. Generally shabby cabin. Manager recommended the local Spring Creek Pub for dinner which was awful.

Review 24:One of the more expensive backpackers sleeping spots during my travel, and yet no linen for the bed, and have to pay for a shower? C:mon, this is 21st century

Review 25:The staff was friendly, and location is sweet

Review 26:pool was very deep nothing for small children. An animal on nearby farm mooed all night. My booking was changed from a cabin to a bunkroom which was not suitable but left me no options as it was after 6pm when I booked in. Playground was pretty average parts unsafe for small children.

Review 27:feeding the eels was great no food available from the office. Staff were friendly but cleaning was done while we were trying to use bathrooms.

Review 28:Close to wineries and a good stopover on the way to Picton to get the ferry. Nice swimming pool, kitchen, room and reception were very friendly. Great food from pub nearby called the ferryman. Would like to stay again.

Review 29:Lyn was extremely accommodating and friendly. The cleanliness was thorough and consistent.

Review 33:Quick and easy check in/out. Lovely staff

Review 34:Not best value for money compared to other cheaper places been to. Facilities not the best

Review 35:bedding and room clean and tidy

Review 36:The kids loved the pool.

Review 37:Cheap & cheerful. Just what was required.

Review 38:no signage on main road, had to stop at a local shop to ask for directions

Review 39:needs maintaining ie painting and cleaning showers, tolits to a better standard

Review 40:great location

Review 41:Cozy and friendly place to stay in Kaikoura, close to shops and cafes. Very nice lady on the reception.

Review 42:Comfortable cabin. Very friendly and accomodating service. Beautiful gardens and feeding the eels was very special.? Magnificent homestead!

Review 43:I found it strange that you had to pay extra for the coin operated showers.

Review 44:Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 45:The resident eel was very entertaining for young children. The location was great and suitable for short night stay.

Review 46:had to wash dishes in unit no sink hard to fill jug no sink

Review 47:clean and tidy comfy bed thank u

Review 48:The price and cleanliness of lodge was disappointing. Beds weren't comfy either, with lots of springs missing.

Review 49:Communal kitchen area was good

Review 50:Lady in the office was very friendly, helpful and nice.

Review 51:have stayed all over the world, and this is on a par with the worst, very cramped in room and with other people

Review 52:nothing

Review 53:The staff were friendly and helpful, it's comfortable and well kept.

Review 54:The pool, and surroundings. Staff were good. Showers were good.

Review 55:Everything was a bit run down

Review 56:Location and atmosphere
