Reviews for Los Arcos Suites
Review 1:They were doing maintenance and construction work during the day that was very loud right above my room. But they did respond by stopping after I complained.
Review 2:The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to the beach, shops, restaurants and nightlife.
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:The staff were very welcoming and accommodating for all of us.They gave us directions, advise on where to eat, and anything else that we asked! The junior suite was bigger than imagined and very user friendly. Great stay, we highly recommend Los Arcos!
Review 5:Food and drinks very bad, and only one restaurant. Not a true all-inclusive. If you wanted to order off the menu you got a 50% discount. Mold outside our door and musty and smelly inside the room. Only 1 pool and it was crowded. Beach Vendors all over the place and even approached us while we were eating dinner in the restaurant.
Review 6:That's a tough one. The best thing I liked was finding the Hyatt Ziva just down the road where there were 4 restaurants with great food and wine, a private beach with no vendors and 3 pools. Did I forget to mention at about half the price of Los Arcos and a true all inclusive, including premium alcohol! Los Arcos hotel staff was accommodating and let us cancel our reservation without penalties.
Review 7:A block from the beach and easy walking distance to a huge number of restaurants, shops and galleries. Really accommodating staff and super clean suites and pool area.
Review 8:We had low water pressure in the shower.
Review 9:We LOVED the suites. We previously had stayed across the street at Playa Los Arcos, which is great for families but not as great for people without children. We were happy to have a mini fridge, cold a/c, a private balcony and access to the pools and facilities at all the Los Arcos properties. This place is a great value and we plan on coming back.
Review 10:Would have liked they option to pay in pesos or u.s dollars. Anything quoted on booking.com is u.s dollars
Review 11:Front desk staff helpful ,the access to 3 properties was wonderful
Review 12:I wish there were better lighting to read by at night. The control of the light was on my husband's side. So when he went to sleep I had to unscrew his light bulb and then walk around to turn off my light which would wake me up again. There was no lighting in the sitting area. I wish there were English language TV or captions (my husband is almost deaf), but this isn't available in 5 star resorts . When Netflix streaming comes to Mexico - that will be something!
Review 13:We loved almost everything. The charming pool The beautiful vine covered wall that was our view when lounging. Access to everything. Lovely personnel. Fabulously comfortable bed. A very European/Mexican feel.
Review 14:We have stayed at Playa Los Arcos many times since 1999. We find the staff not being as friendly as they were a few years ago. It used to be all smiles and politeness but not so much now. And lack of information, we were not told we could use all of the three Arcos hotels. I tried to get information about the all inclusive plan but they were just not interested in informing me.
Review 15:Location is great, we love being in the old part of Puerto Vallarta where we can walk to the malecon.
Review 16:The mildew smell. I'm washing all my clothes now. The smell is in everything that was in the room. The staff was defensive if you had a complant. I complained about getting woke up at midnight by a partying neighbor and the women at the desk said. "There is only one person staying in that room". As if one person couldn't be blaring music at midnight. Strange!
Review 17:Great location. Close to everything downtown. You can use the pool on the 4th floor across the street at Dona Susana's That was the best part of my stay
Review 18:The facility is getting a little run down and could use a spruce up, newer sofas would be nice. A microwave would be an asset currently there is only a double hotplate, toaster and coffeemaker in the kitchen.
Review 19:The location is definitely the reason we stay here. Options to use the facilities at any of the three properties is handy if one of the pools gets busy, or if you want to get away from the hustle on the beach. Right in the heart of the romantic zone, and handy to bus lines if you want to venture further afield.
Review 20:The suites overlooking the ocean are the best, were 1rst shown a room on 1rst floor facing the street..would not have liked that room..the upgrade is totally worth it..
Review 21:The size of the room, the balcony overlooking everything
Review 22:Very unpleasant smell. Would have been nice to have a microwave and coffee maker but that would not keep us from coming back. Moldy, mildew smell in room was most unpleasant thing.
Review 23:Facilities great. Bed was terrific. Great service. Loved the amenities of the pool and beach.
Review 24:Trouble getting on the Internet that we needed to check our work. I thought the cost of the all inclusive added after I arrived was a bit high.
Review 25:the Location in old PV is great many restaurants and night spots within an easy walk. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The food was quite good.
Review 26:the beds are super hard but that is just the way it is.
Review 27:Very quiet room in the back off street. Rooms are basic but everything you need to be in a great area of the romantic zone.
Review 28:No bad experiences. Would recommend new towels though
Review 29:Location and staff. Room was nice sized and quiet. Enjoyable
Review 30:Private and quiet hotel just a few blocks from the pier. Nice pool and great wifi.
Review 31:Balcony did not get sun and you need earplugs to sleep
Review 32:Staff was excellent walk to great food
Review 33:facility needs upgrading but was comfortable.
Review 34:good location in old vallarta.
Review 35:Location & Staff + Quiet.
Review 36:Front Desk staff indifferent and unapproachable.
Review 37:Great location. Housekeeping excellent.
Review 38:The food made everyone sick
Review 39:The really cold ac and inability to lessen it.
Review 40:The location is close to everything.
Review 41:Wifi seldom worked, could have been the weather.
Review 42:Pleasant staff, location, and secure parking.
Review 43:Poor attention
Review 44:Many people. Poor facilities old building, bad beach. Cucaraches very bad vacations
Review 45:No workout facility. No ice machine!!!
Review 46:Thought I would miss staying right on the beach but the location turned out to be better for us.
Review 47:Kitchen grossly in need fo updating
Review 48:Location and the staff were excellent. Close to beach.
Review 49:Being close to the beach. A variety of pools and close to the malacon.
Review 50:Advertised as Canadian funds Charged in US funds
Review 51:Location. Roof top all adult pool Large suite. Nice Balcony.
Review 52:The staff, Fransico is the best.
Review 53:Refer to my incident report.
Review 54:We have stayed at the Suites for years now and usually have a nice experience.
Review 55:The kitchen facilities were limited.
Review 56:Friendly staff, comfortable suite...also delicious breakfast buffet!
Review 57:very clean and friendly. Close to downtown and very affordable.
Review 58:Small poorly lite Bathrooms and uneven surface to enter Bathroom No Microwave
Review 59:Location Cleanliness Value for money Staff Quiet
Review 60:unstable internet
Review 61:big, clean & air conditioned.
Review 62:Can be a bit musty and the upkeep should be better.
Review 63:Beautiful courtyard with a swimming pool. Fantastic location right in the middle of the Zona Romantica while also being a little away from the noise. Fantastic staff.
Review 64:No coffee available in room; only in the lobby and only in a carafe and NOT fresh or hot. Also, I thought I was booking La Playa Los Arcos, which is ON the beach; Los Arcos Suites is not. The nearby beach, while sandy, did not compensate for all of the rocks underneath the water/crashing waves. Such a disappointment and would not return because of this.
Review 65:Spacious room & comfortable king bed.
Review 66:The management staff was very disorganized and not very customer service oriented, they were not able to find our booking. We made a point of checking our reservation in person the day it was made (couldn't find it )On the day of check in there were still problems as no reservation showed we were finally given a different room then promised which worked out ok...but now booking.com says we owe $192 no show fee.
Review 67:The location was great, very central to all activities and right on the beach.Management staff not customer oriented so you will have problems. However auxiliary staff is very helpful.
Review 68:No comfortable seating. Pool area noisy at times from kids. Hotel money exchange rate lousy (expected). Lighting harsh.
Review 69:Location excellent. Many restaurants nearby. Bed com- fortable (king). Pool very clean. Air conditioning worked well. Laundry facility nearby.
Review 70:Furnishings were old & shabby in our room Window opened to streetside sidewalk Our pool had only 2 lounge chairs and no umbrellas or shade
Review 71:Spacious room Nice rooftop pool across the street Fantastic location
Review 72:Noise from nearby night clubs and traffic. Not much privacy when sitting on balconies as they are close to the room next door
Review 73:Location was good if you like night life action.Downtown where all the night life and excellent restaurants are.
Review 74:I was charged for my whole stay when we checked in. Then when we checked out I had an additional 258.00 owing. I did not use the phone or anything else. She said I had calculated the exchange wrong. But how could that be when they charged me when I checked in????
Review 75:Liked location and that they had a kitchen.
Review 76:Room was shabby and frayed. Property is desperately in need of remodeling.
Review 77:Not much. We did not find the room they offered acceptable and asked to be upgraded to their sister property, Playa Los Arcos.
Review 78:The view was not good. There were small fruit fly type insects all over any food left uncovered. The elements to cook on did not work enough to heat up anything. The freezer barely worked. Only the front of the freezer made ice. Fridge was not very clean. Not enough accessible outlets in the room. Hotel staff were not accommodating when we voiced our concerns, so we checked out after 6 days.
Review 79:The building had character. Old Mexican style. The suite was spacious. There was a safe in the room, that was easy to use. Wifi worked on the balcony. Bed was clean and comfortable..air conditioning worked well.
Review 80:The hotel is just dirty. People seem to be cleaning but still it is just tired & dirty. The pool is cleaned on the bottom but above the water line is just grey sludge; our room was cleaned but there are small black hairs on the floor and in the bathroom which is just eeww; the soft furnishing are just plain nasty & sofas covers & bed throws need a wash; the lift has a glass window but its filthy. I didn't understand why they take the trouble to make swans and such out of old grey & dirty towels - it's a sweet thought but really throw out the old towels!! Such a pity as the proportions of the rooms are great, the location is fabulous & staff are really sweet & helpful but the whole place needs a clean top to bottom.
Review 81:The location is excellent and the staff charming.
Review 82:Suite smelled musty...but was kept in excellent condition and very clean!
Review 83:The staff were very friendly and very nice, The location was very good, close to everthing and nice having access to the sister hotels.
Review 84:Liked it all
Review 85:It was the perfect location for old town PV. Quiet side street near restaurants and beach. Staff helpful with English. Had a great time.
Review 86:there are two different type rooms. I got different storys on which was which. We had booked two junior suites and had two different rooms. Does the Jr suite have a seperate bedroom? I still don't know if we overpaid or had a upgrade for one room???
Review 87:Location, We did not go for the all inclusive as we were right where every one has to take a Taxi to for dinner or a walk along the Malacon. Great resturants right there Friendly
Review 88:Location of rooms - no privacy. Our room's balcony overlooked the street and right across was the sister hotel, Susanna, and balconies looked directly onto each other.
Review 89:hotel location was great - very convenient. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable. Hotel was not teaming with people like the sister property, Playa Los Arcos.
Review 90:No dislikes at all.
Review 91:It's a wonderful location in the heart of Old Town Puerto Vallarta, MX and is right on the most famous beach. Has colonial Mexican charm and the employees were delightful. It' a great contrast from the modern high-rise resorts and condos in different pats of the PV area.
Review 92:The receptionist said a did not have my reservation that day. She wanteda print out of reservation. But everything is computerized now and Ijust show my booking number on the computer. She wasn't veryfriendly an I waited 2 hours for my room.i I got to the hoyel ny 6:45pmpm because my flight was delayed but when I get the hotel it was veryinconvenient that my room wasn't ready and she couldn't find thereservation even tho I have all the information on my iPad. I think shecharge me more that what I needed to pay.Thank you for your time. Best regards, CHER
Review 93:The beach, food and the shopping .
Review 94:front desk , hounded me about guest , being there single, and for pleasure they made it difficult to enjoy the room . the hotel was empty and I did not disturbe a soul , just wanted adult pleasure in my room . also my ankles itched , bed bugs or fleas
Review 95:maid service
Review 96:We like everything the hotel staff is profesional the location is great! And the apearance of the hotel is wonderful. I will recomend this place to everyone.
Review 97:The hotel is older and moldy smelling. We were told our room had akitchen that ended up being a little burner that barely heated upanything. No microwave, etc. There were a lot of ants around the leakysinks, no outlets in the bathroom, so don't bother bringing curlingirons, etc. The furniture is very old and worn, and giant carvedreligious picture over the bed used as a sort of headboard you wouldliterally hurt your head if you weren't careful with your pillows.Could really stand a remodel. For the price we paid though it was abetter option than staying in the hotel zone and was a better culturalexperience.
Review 98:The staff truly are very friendly. Our room had one of the best views inPuerto Vallarta facing the ocean/bay with a large covered balcony.Very close to the new Pier and just close enough to the Malecon to walkbut far enough away to enjoy the quiet.
Review 99:Being a solo traveller, it would have been nice to be able to bring a friend back to my room without any problems from the front desk or security.
Review 100:I loved the location! It was right in the middle of everything. The beach cafes, bars and night life, are right at your front door. The Malecon is about a 5 min walk with the most intriguing sights along the way. The hotel was very CLEAN. Houseeeping was almost always present and the folded towel animals were a nice added touch. It was a very lovely place and the price was just right.
Review 101:The last 3 days of my stay familys checked in and their kids ran wild and screaming at the pool with no supervision form the parents to control them. Older people were leaving the area as it was no longer peaceful and the staff didnt seem to care. Just my thought. I would probably look at a facility like Buena Ventura as at night it is very peaceful and quite. And during the day the parents seem to control there kids.
Review 102:I liked the first few days as it seemed to be quite and relaxing, It would be nice if during the winter months you would make this an adults 21 and over resort. Also I stayed in room 107 and I want to say what a good job she did. I believe here name was Mariana.
Review 103:the elevators were dirty, the windows in the elevator were so disgusting we wanted to leave. No ambiance whatsoever.
Review 104:Staff was friendly, were able to park our car at a very busy time
Review 105:WIFI hardly works, but htere are WIFI cafes around.
Review 106:Very quiet. Lovely pool surrounded by tropical plants. Doesn't get a lot of sun, but that could be a plus if it's really hot. Very close to everything. Beds were good, and the place was clean. It's not fancy, but very nice. Staff was nice.
Review 107:The rooms could probably do with some renovation. They're a little musty (comes with the climate) but nothing is unpleasant enough to detract from the fun of spending a night, or a few, in this sweet hotel in this great part of town.
Review 108:This is a sweet, intimate hotel. Don't bother with the all inclusive deals (the restaurant is a block away and serves appalling cafeteria style food -- e.g. sausage casserole... need I say more!). Just enjoy the room, the wonderful staff, the incredible pool in the inner courtyard with the biggest mango tree I've ever seen hanging over the top, and the many local restaurants and cafes. I love Puerto Vallarta and this is my favourite place to stay.
Review 109:Location is very good, lots of restaurants and stores close by. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Review 110:Every thing
Review 111:Location, Location, Location!
Review 112:Moisture odor in the room. No microwave.
Review 113:pool, room on ground level, location, quiet.
Review 114:cramped, cleanliness, and bed
Review 115:location, staff
Review 116:The location is perfect. Close to the beach, but on a quiet street. The elevator was convenient. Also enjoyed the soft bed, balcony and wifi.
Review 117:That you charge the same price for 1 person in a room as 2
Review 118:Everything was clean and the staff were nice and helpful
Review 119:Room smelled a bit musty Hotel does not allow visitors Pricy for what you get
Review 120:Location Large comfy bed
Review 121:nothing
Review 122:pool, location
Review 123:Practical 'no frills' hotel is an excellent downtown location.
Review 124:Francisco at the front desk was very accomodating.
Review 125:I love the location the price and the appearance
Review 126:More expensive than expected.
Review 127:Access to beach and pools. Proximity to old part of town.
Review 128:Nothing to write here, very nice vacation.
Review 129:We felt safe there, also we didn't get sick. The food and water were safe. Loved that!!!
